It’s all about numbers. That $500 tower for zig generated over $3,000 in
revenue a month. We were at 275 feet. Didn’t make sense to build our own
because we needed the height. Another tower generated over 6k in revenue and
cost $700 a month. Both were American Tower sites.

These were in counties where zoning for any tower over 40 feet was crazy. We
are talking million dollar homes and towers were unsightly. Sure, you can make
the argument that $700 a month would pay for a tower. But, building costs $
and time too. We figured it would be 18 months before a tower was profitable
in those instances. No zoning, no permits, no hassle. Pay the money and
install customers.

At the same time we had towers we traded service or paid $1 a foot.

Re: [AFMUG] American Tower

2016-05-02 Thread Justin Wilson
American tower is much easier to work with, compared to Crown or SBA. At least
AT sees a market with WISPs. We have paid as little as $500 a month and as much
as $1000.

I know the folks who bought us, Bridgemaxx, have done some WISP deals with
American Tower. Maybe Jim or Andy can comment if they see this.

Crown is only slightly worse than American tower.

I know you'll be paying for a structural every addition/change. I think
that's $2500.
