Dewalt has a battery operated model. Their HEPA vac models are pretty cool too. We have a smaller Makita, but if I was going to buy today, it'd be Dewalt. I've got a hydraulic ground rod driver... I think I ended up getting 2 of them for $300 at auction. We already have a hydraulic power pack for other things...so it works well. It's also specifically for ground rods, not a rotary drill with an attachment. There's a ground rod driver attachment for most roto hammers, definitely for SDS Max, maybe SDS Plus. You'd want to use this in almost every case since it doesn't mushroom-head the end of the rod like a sledgehammer.
