I'll see what I can do to verify that A-B is working properly.

DIS: Mailing lists act strange

2013-10-30 Thread Tysger B.
Hello,

The mailing lists of Agora are acting strange. I wanted to register, and I
got a mail back with BUS: in the subject line, but I do not receive other
mails from the mailing list, while I got a Welcome to the agora-discussion
mailing list-mail. Does anybody know why this is?

Ludwig

There have been no mails to -business since you registered, so perhaps
that's the issue.

Apart from that, check to see if you have mail delivery turned off.

Yes, I am subscribed to all lists already, but I sent my registration in
BUS about 7 hours ago, and nobody has reacted yet.
My spam folder is empty by the way.

Also: make sure to check the spam folder. I'm pretty sure gmail marked
 them as spam on me.

I received your registration. No one has sent any response to it yet.
There have been no messages on the official or business mailing lists
since you sent your registration.

This is Agora, which is kind-of slow to react to anything. And there
have been a lot of registrations recently; the main reaction to them has
been to comment (in a-b) that there have been a lot of registrations
recently, and there's not normally much point in doing that twice.

You'll likely be marked on the next Registrar's report, which lists all
the players (apart from aperfectring, who everyone keeps forgetting
about).

I also didn't bring it up for a while hoping I could find some kind of
loophole, but finally gave up on that.

You might be able to argue that the platonic deregistration when the
report self-ratified violated rule 101(viii). Probably not, though,
given that the ratification rule was powered up specifically to counter
that sort of shenanigans. (And it wouldn't be particularly useful for
you personally in any case.)
