Re: [LincolnTalk] HCA & Codman Road

2023-10-16 Thread Joan Kimball
Thank you David for your clear message. I agree with each town doing
their part to help the housing crisis we are facing. And besides, it's the
law.

  Senator Barrett at one point said, we have the jobs and we have workers,
but not adequate housing for them.

 I certainly benefit from other towns' services and businesses. We are
not living in a vacuum.

  I treasure our town's open space,and as a former Conservation Commission
member when we wrote the Wetland Bylaw, I treasure the services for nature
and for us that our protected wetlands provide. These lands will not be
built upon. And there will be site reviews.

Thank you, John. I agree.

I support the work of the Housing Choice Committee, the selects and RLF on
implementing the housing choice act so that it fits Lincoln. The
presentation at the state of the town was impressive and showed hundreds of
hours of high quality thought and work.

We have good bylaws and regulations that will ensure good results. 40% of
our town is in conservation. And we protect our wetlands.

Re: [rsyslog] Repeated 111 to rsyslog UDS from nginx

2023-09-21 Thread Joan Sala via rsyslog
(Disclaimer: I have not read all this thread in depth.)

This flag "confirmMessages=on" sounds suspicious. With this flag, omprog
waits for the script to confirm each received log line (if I recall well),
but your script (looking at your first message) doesn't seem to do this (?)
(to be sure we would need to see the python part). This could cause the
queue to stall...

[protobuf] Re: Trying to rewrite a protobuf message but changing a couple of values

2023-09-20 Thread Joan Balagueró
Ok thanks, I was trying to avoid this, to compile and use the generated
classes. Now we are currently processing the raw protobuf message as a map
of UnknownFieldSet, and I was wondering if there was a choice to make this
"rewrite" without the need to compile and use the class, just traversing
the protobuf.

I will check and try.

Thanks,

Joan.

Not sure what I can do with this code. I only have a byte array
representing the above protobuf, I don't have any object or message. At
most I have a map with the list of the "UnknownFieldSet.Field" fields after
parsing the byte array (this is java code).

I'm relatively new to protobuf, I read a lot on the Internet trying to find
a solution but I did not find anything.

That's why I tried to traverse the map of fields and write them to the new
byte array. It's the only solution I could think of, but I'm doing
something wrong.

Not sure if you can help me a bit more to solve this.

Anyways thanks.

Joan.

Hi Florian,

Thanks for your quick response. I'm stuck on this.

1) It's not working. When I send the protobuf to the backend server (it's
not our api nor server) using the first method, I get a right response. But
using the second method I receive this error:

2) This is the proto:

The request with the 'Meta' element:

message Request {
   Meta Meta = 1;
   repeated int32 Hotels = 2 [packed = false];
   Country Market = 3;
   repeated Room Rooms = 4;
   .bcl.DateTime CheckIn = 5;
   .bcl.DateTime CheckOut = 6;
   OptionalCriteria OptionalCriteria = 7;
}

The 'Meta' element that contains the 'CutOffTime' that we want to modify:

message Meta {
   int32 Client = 1;
   int32 Brand = 2;
   bool UseCache = 3;
   .bcl.TimeSpan CutOffTime = 4;
   bool B2C = 5;
   Language Language = 6;
   Currency Currency = 7;
   bool IncludeProviderAuditData = 8;
   SalesChannel SalesChannel = 9;
   string AgentId = 10;
}

The 'CutOffTime':

message TimeSpan {
  sint64 value = 1; // the size of the timespan (in units of the selected
scale)
  TimeSpanScale scale = 2; // the scale of the timespan [default = DAYS]
  enum TimeSpanScale {
DAYS = 0;
HOURS = 1;
MINUTES = 2;
SECONDS = 3;
MILLISECONDS = 4;
TICKS = 5;

MINMAX = 15; // dubious
  }
}

[protobuf] Trying to rewrite a protobuf message but changing a couple of values

2023-09-20 Thread Joan Balagueró
Hello,

I have a protobuf message like this into a byte array:

1: { // META element
1: 2
2: 1
3: 1
4: {// CutOffTime element within META
1: 10
2: 3
   }
5: 1
6: 40
}
2: 9836 // HOTEL element
3: 724 // MARKET element

We need to traverse this message and write it to a 'CodeOutputStream', but
changing the values of the 'cutoff' element to, for example to '4: { 1: 7,
2: 4 }'. I'm not able to do it, I need some help.

A basic algorithm that writes the same protobuf to another byte array but
without changing anything works. Here I try the special case of 'META' (key
= 1) that contains the 'cutoff' element.

Map rootFields =
UnknownFieldSet.parseFrom(document).asMap();

for (Map.Entry entry :
rootFields.entrySet()) {
if (entry.getKey() == 1) {
ByteString bs =
entry.getValue().getLengthDelimitedList().get(0);
output.writeByteArray(1, bs.toByteArray());
}
else {
entry.getValue().writeTo(entry.getKey(), output);
}
}

Now I try to go a bit further, trying to read the cuotff element, change
the values and rewrite them to the 'output'. And here is when I'm not able
to solve the problem. Below my try that does not work, it generates a byte
array
of 69 bytes instead of 73 (I'm losing 4 bytes):

Map rootFields =
UnknownFieldSet.parseFrom(document).asMap();

for (Map.Entry entry :
rootFields.entrySet()) {
if (entry.getKey() == 1) {
ByteString bs =
entry.getValue().getLengthDelimitedList().get(0);
Map ufs =
UnknownFieldSet.parseFrom(bs).asMap();

for (Map.Entry item :
ufs.entrySet()) {
if (item.getKey() == 4) {
Map cutoff =
UnknownFieldSet.parseFrom(item.getValue().getLengthDelimitedList().get(0)).asMap();
cutoff.put(1,
UnknownFieldSet.Field.newBuilder().addVarint(7).build()).writeTo(1, output);
cutoff.put(2,
UnknownFieldSet.Field.newBuilder().addVarint(4).build()).writeTo(1, output);
}
else {
item.getValue().writeTo(item.getKey(), output);
}
}
}
else {
entry.getValue().writeTo(entry.getKey(), output);
}
}

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Joan.

[OpenSIPS-Users] Implementation Issues with Opensips as a Load Balancer

2023-09-01 Thread Joan Leyrana
Hello Team, I'm trying to implement Opensips with Asterisk as a load
balancer (I have been looking at the documentation, but I can't find a
guide for the newer versions of Opensips). I have already installed the
MySQL database, Opensips version 3.3, and OCP 9.3.3. I have added my
Asterisk servers to the load balancer, generated my load balancer script,
and activated the necessary modules in the config file. However, it is not
working for me, and I have the following doubts:

Will the VoIP phones register with Opensips? Why does generating the load
balancer script disable the registrar module?

The route logic generated by the load balancer is not working, or at least
it doesn't allow me to register the phones.

My understanding is that the route is as follows:

VoIP Phone -- >Registrar --> Opensips Opensips --> Media --> Asterisk

Am I skipping any important steps

Database High Availablity With Automatic failover

2023-08-21 Thread Joan g
Hi,
Community, I would like to know if it is possible to enable Database High
Availability With Automatic failover in cloudstack 4.18.

In my Lab, I have setup Mysql With master master replication, cloudstack
db.properties are changed from default as
===
db.ha.enabled=true
db.cloud.replicas=192.168.10.3
=

On DB Master fail, Cloudstack is not switching to slave on the above IP.

Can someone guide what I am missing here.

Regards,
Jon

Hi,

Some days ago I wrote previous mail. Maybe it wasn't the correct list
to post this question.

I want to change default value for "Format ordinal number suffixes
(1st ...> 1st)" from Autocorrect option to False for Catalan language
only (or disable such feature). Any hint if it's possible to do it and
how could be done? Or where/who can I ask for guidance?

Thanks,
Joan Montané

[libreoffice-l10n] Default autocorrect options by language

2023-08-09 Thread Joan Montané
Hi,

These days I'm updating some pending minor issues for Catalan l10n
(dictionaries, locale data...) and I need help with "autocorrect
options".

If it's possible, I want "Format ordinal number suffixes (1st ...
1st)" (ChangeOrdinalNumbers at registrymodifications.xcu) disabled as
default for Catalan language.

Alternatively, avoiding the effect of this option for Catalan language
(i.e., no superscript for ordinal suffixes never) will be a better
option than current behavior.

I've searched at wiki and Bugzilla without luck. Is it possible to
change default autocorrect option for language?

Thanks,
Joan Montané

Correct me if I'm wrong: nested arbiters would fail here, right? An
arbiter launched from a user (non-root) having permissions over the IO
file should be able to get the port and handle it to it's clients. Then
we need the fallback mechanism to RPC the master arbiter when this is a
nested arbiter. Just mentioning, no need to be in this patch, though.

Re: [PATCH v2 hurd] pci: Add RPCs for taking and freeing io ports by BAR

2023-07-20 Thread Joan Lledó

Hi Damien,

I think your design is not compatible with nested arbiters. Correct me
if I'm wrong, but AFAIK the arbiter doesn't know if it's a main or a
nested arbiter, it's libpciaccess who handles that. So the arbiter code
must be the same and work no matter if it's main or nested. In your
design, the arbiter calls i386_io_perm_create(), that would work for the
main arbiter but not for nested arbiters, because only one process can
take the port, AFAIK.

I think it should be libpciaccess x86 module who calls
i386_io_perm_create() once per device during the initial probe. And
store the resulting port at some place the arbiter can get it. Then, the
S_pci_request_io_ports() RPC should check the user permissions and
return that port. This should work for both main an nested arbiters,
since the logic to get the port would be implemented in libpciaccess.

On the other hand, the hurd module in libpciaccess should call this new
RPC to get the port from the main arbiter when probing the devices. That
way the nested arbiter can get the port too. Also clients using
libpciaccess directly.

I saw that `struct pci_device` contains a pointer `*user_data`. We could
use that to pass the port from libpciaccess to the arbiter. I wonder why
aren't we using that already, for instance to make the ROM base address
available for the arbiter.

Does this make any sense for you? I could be wrong because I don't
remember all the details right now.

On 20/7/23 12:13, Damien Zammit wrote:

This would allow pci-arbiter to control which io ports
are accessed and pave the way to having granular access to io ports
based on pci cards exposing their IO BARs.

libpciaccess has convenient api for this kind of access, it allows
opening and registering io ports by BAR.

Therefore, we can first introduce this new RPC, then see if changing
libpciaccess to only expose PCI_CFG1 ports on x86 method and granular access
to other io ports on hurdish method still works with other servers.

Finally, once this is done, we can check if locking the io ports down
to exclusive regions that cant overlap will function correctly with
gnumach and the rest of the hurd.

I am looking for a way to have the io ports which are attached
to a particular pci device released when the pci device port is deallocated.

There should be a way to use the force flag when restoring databases

2023-07-18 Thread Joan
Since posgres 13 there's the option to do a FORCE when dropping a database
(so it disconnects current users) Documentation here:
https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/sql-dropdatabase.html

I am currently using dir format for the output
   pg_dump -d "bdname" -F d -j 4 -v -f /tmp/dir

And restoring the database with
  pg_restore -d postgres -C -c --exit-on-error -F d -j 3 -v /tmp/dir

Having an option to add the FORCE option to either the generated dump by
pg_dump, or in the pg_restore would be very useful when restoring the
databases to another servers so it would avoid having to do scripting.

In my specific case I am using this to refresh periodically a development
environment with data from production servers for a small database (~200M).

Thanks,

Joan

Hi Joan,

We have been using a Liebherr upright freezer (modell GGPv 6570-43) over years
for IPM purpose.
It maintains a constant temperature of -20°C and is made entirely of stainless

I can't say for sure if it's good enough for storing photos and films, but I
think it is.

Greetings;

I have a question about indoor, upright freezers.

Would appreciate hearing what type and make of upright freezers folks would
recommend for cold storage of film and similar materials.

Thanks so much!

Hello Joel,

Our staff recently experimented with outdoor freezing. This occurred in
south-central Wisconsin in late May to mid-June, with outdoor temperatures
exceeding 90 F on some days. We had a high volume of large objects (furniture
size) that needed immediate treatment, so we rented a large freezer semitrailer
and parked it on our grounds for a month (padlocked, refueled several times—no
electricity needed). The trailer maintained temperatures between roughly -12
and -23, which we confirmed with two Bluetooth HOBO monitors. Despite being
parked in full sunlight, the trailer was able to cool down to those temps very
quickly, and then acclimated to ambient temperatures gradually enough upon
treatment completion so as not to damage artifacts.

To answer your question, I think your plan is feasible with the right budget.
Free-standing outdoor freezer units are out there in the market. (EX:

Hi,
For a recent exhibition where there would be raw wood items (dugout canoe and
support blocks) that had been sitting outside we used one.
We rented an 8 x 20' Walk in and had it parked at our loading dock. We had a
padlock on the door and we have rotating Security. It was in the hot sun on
concrete and it worked very well, though I think shade would be beneficial.
We had a Bluetooth thermometer inside to monitor so we didn’t have to open all
the time to check. Maybe you could slowly raise the temp of the freezer until
it reaches Gallery temp?
You need to have an electrical source that it powerful enough. Our electricians
were able to put in a new breaker for it.

Cheers!

pci-arbiter: Prevent mapping IO region files

2023-07-05 Thread Joan Lledó
Hello,

Time ago I sent some patches to implement mapping region and ROM files using
mmap(). However, a BAR region can represent either memory or I/O space, and
only the former should be allowed to be mapped, since I/O BARs don't contain
physical memory addresses, but I/O addresses. I attached a small patch to
prevent mapping I/O region files.

On the other hand, in the past we discussed how to make IO spaces available
for users through the arbiter [1]. It seems the way to go is adding a new RPC
that checks for permissions, calls i386_io_perm_create() and returns the
resulting port. I could work on that. After all changes in the arbiter and the
Hurd these last years, would still be useful to have such RPC?

It seems that changing the maxConnectionPerRoute does not work on runtime ONLY

Anyways maybe I'm doing something wrong ... just let me know what you think.

Question about max connections

2023-06-23 Thread Joan grupoventus
Hello,

We have an async http pool with LAX concurrency (httpclient 5.2.1):
this.phccm =
PoolingAsyncClientConnectionManagerBuilder.create().setPoolConcurrencyPolicy(PoolConcurrencyPolicy.LAX).build();

We set the max connections in this way:
public void setMaxConnections(int maxConnections) {
  this.phccm.setMaxTotal(maxConnections);
  this.phccm.setDefaultMaxPerRoute(maxConnections);
}

I'm not sure if we are having an issue with this, but before starting to
analyse http traces just one question: will it work to call the
'setMaxConnections' method to modify these parameters on the fly, or must I
restart the pool to apply the new values?

Thanks,

Joan.

Hello Jithin,

I have tried
  1.  Disabled the zone
  2.  Delete the SSVM
  3.  Delete the Ip range

But I am not sure where to remove the storage label. Could you please
elaborate on it.
Since the storage label is already there I am not able to add the same
label to 'Physical network 2'.

Now A new better NIC card was added to servers and I wish to use this NIC
for the storage traffic.
I have added a New Physical network using the UI but I am not able to
assign the storage traffic to this NIC, because it's already in use with my
NIC1.

Is there any way I can delete the storage label from the 'Physical network
1' and add it to the new 'Physical network 2'

Jon

Veure fitxers/icones a l'escriptori de Gnome

2023-06-21 Thread Joan

I use shutterfly. And there is s feature that lets you do it yourself with
template help. I wOuld bever do the automatic version. BUT the non
automatic lets you choose how many photos you want on each page, a a
variety of setups for each number and text.

[LincolnTalk] [Spring Concert to benefit SVdP and the food pantry

2023-06-01 Thread Joan Kimball
Thanks to the volunteers at SVdP not only for the impressive work they do
all year but also, in this case, for the superb Spring Concert last
Tuesday at Pierce Park.

It was a beautiful evening in every way.

The music was wonderful. ( I don't have the names of the musicians; they
were all outstanding!)

We sat on our chairs and blankets, a deligted and happy audience.

 Children danced with happiness.

The weather was perfect.

The cause so important.

A time to cherish.

Re: (deb-cat) Escriptori predeterminat: Mate

2023-05-25 Thread Joan Baptista
Bon dia, Narcis.

gràfiques lleugeres, vaig triar Xfce i em seguia oferint com sempre un munt

2023-05-20 Thread Joan Carles
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469955

--- Comment #4 from Joan Carles  ---
Hi Jack (Google Translate)

I re-downloaded the windows executable and installed it again. The error
continued it was impossible to execute the Kmymoney. Then, from the old
computer, I copied the entire Kmymoney folder to a pen and copied it entirely
to the Kmymoney installation directory in Windows 11 Pro. And surprise, it ran
correctly again, finally being able to open the *.KYM data file.

In short, the Win/64 executable *.EXE on 2022-09-09 is missing some component
of the program that causes it to fail to run under Windows.

[Frameworks] international student filmmaker question

2023-05-18 Thread Joan Hawkins
Hi all, I need advice from people who have worked with international students.
One of my Brazilian students has three shorts in post-production and, when they
are completed, he would like to submit them to festivals. The international
office here at Indiana University doesn't seem to know if a possible cash prize
would violate the terms of his visa. It doesn't seem to me that it should,
since it's a prize and not wages-- but if any of you have experience that would
help here, please advise. Feel free to message off-list or on. thanks, Joan

Re: [FFmpeg-devel] Global variables in FFmpeg command expressions?

2023-05-17 Thread Joan Lluch
Hi Paul,

Yes, I agree that a filter that would process both Video and Audio together
would be the best approach.

But this does not seem to be the general case in FFmpeg. I mean, filters are
either for video or for audio. With filters that just apply video
transformations without affecting the time line, this is not a major issue
because you can always map the original audio into the output file and get the
output again in sync. However if we are removing or adding video frames or
attempt to make any transformations that would result in a different length
video, then we loose audio sync, which is why I tried possible workarounds
(unsuccessfully)

The best candidate seems to be the -filter_complex filter because it allows us
to simultaneously apply video and audio filters in order to get a combined
output. However, the fact that command expression variables do not exit the
scope of the video section makes many synced transformations impossible.
Including (as far as I know) the use case that I mentioned.

The subject at this point is whether the dev community considers improving on
this is worth looking at. I regard FFmpeg as an excellent library, probably the
single one that has everything, although I may not be fully aware of what’s
available on other programatic libraries. On the other hand, desktop video
editing programs do not generally have audio/video sync issues, because of
course that would be unacceptable on these kind of software.

Said that, I am unsure about how difficult fixing this issue on FFmpeg would be
or what it would take

Regards,

John Lluch

[FFmpeg-devel] Global variables in FFmpeg command expressions?

2023-05-15 Thread Joan Lluch
Hi all,

I recently made a feature request to one of the community members. I was ready
to pay a reasonable amount for it, but as it was a relatively quick fix, he was
kind enough to implement it on his own, and I made a donation to the community
instead. The feature I refer to is the “keep” parameter on the mpdecimate
filter, which was implemented by Thilo Borgmann.

I am a retired software developer and although I embraced some really complex
projects in the past (including occasional code contributions to the LLVM
compiler project) I am not currently in the disposition to do it anymore due to
several reasons mostly related to age.

So, I just joined this mailing list because I want to suggest a further
improvement to FFmpeg, or otherwise ask for workarounds.

The problem I want to solve is to trim duplicated frames of a video clip, in
the same exact way that the mpdecimate does, but preserving the corresponding
audio sections of the preserved video frames in correct sync on the output
video. Or in other words, trim duplicated frames from a video input, while also
trimming the corresponding audio, in sync.

To accomplish this, I attempted commands such as this one:

ffmpeg -i $INPUT -vf "select='if( gt(scene,0.1), (st(1,t);st(2,1)),
if(lte(t-ld(1),${KEEP}),st(2,1),st(2,0)) )', setpts=N/FRAME_RATE/TB" -af
"aselect='ld(2)', asetpts=N/SR/TB”  $OUTPUT

The trick here is (or would be) to use variable number 2 from the video section
to tell the audio section which frames to select (based on what the video
section is selecting). However, this won't work because ‘variable’ number 2
from the first ‘select’ expression is out of scope on the ‘aselect’ expression.
Therefore it always evaluates to 0 in the ‘aselect’ expression and the output
goes with no audio.

I think that having a way to specify ‘global’ variables, with valid scope
through the entire ffmpeg command, featuring 'store global' and 'load global’
semantics, would be very helpful and would enormously increase the use cases
for this library. So it would be nice if somebody would look at implementing
it. I understand this is far from straightforward, but It would be game
changing if done in my opinion.

As said, my current use case is trimming the audio stream in sync with the
video stream as described above. So alternatively, I would appreciate any hints
on how to accomplish this if this is /already/ possible.

Thanks

John LLuch

RE: Httpclient issue with https "org.apache.hc.core5.http2.impl.nio.ClientH2StreamMultiplexer"

2023-05-12 Thread Joan grupoventus
Hi Oleg,

After changing this method from:
private TlsStrategy getTLSStrategy() throws Exception {
  return (DefaultClientTlsStrategy.getDefault());
}

To:
private TlsStrategy getTLSStrategy() throws Exception {
   return
ClientTlsStrategyBuilder.create().setSslBufferMode(SSLBufferMode.DYNAMIC).build();
}

And set this strategy to the pool:
this.phccm =
PoolingAsyncClientConnectionManagerBuilder.create().setPoolConcurrencyPolicy(PoolConcurrencyPolicy.LAX).setTlsStrategy(this.getTLSStrategy()).build();

The histogram shows the same:
num #instances #bytes  class name
--
   1:233151 3208489352  [B
   2:182882   52757328

This chart shows the execution under http and the change to https at 11:23:35:
http://www.grupoventus.com/resources/spike.png

With http, at the end of each GC cycle the amount of heap used is around 1,5GB.
At the moment we dynamically change to https you can see a spike from 3GB to
7GB. Next GC cycles frees memory until around 5GB, and remains there.

Here the chart with the execution already with https during several minutes,
never lows from the 5GB:
http://www.grupoventus.com/resources/https.png

The point is that here traffic is very low, in production this traffic is much
higher so the spike is about 20GB and the heap becomes exhausted.

Joan.

Hi Joan

This sounds odd. I see no reason why FrameOutputBuffer should ever grow beyond
the size of the maximum frame size and do not see how this could be possibly be
related to TLS. Nevertheless, this may well be a bug that gets triggered by the
use of the transport encryption.

Please do one thing, though, first. Please make sure you configure the I/O
reactors to use a custom TLS strategy with SSLBufferMode set to DYNAMIC. This
will make the I/O reactor release intermediate TLS buffers which should
substantially decrease the total memory footprint of TLS connections at the
cost of extra memory allocation / de- allocation.

GitHub, it's working well!

Noticed a 1 min delay on re-deployment since the moment you hit save, since
I have an inmediate sync alternative in place I will stick with it.

Help appreciated :)

Httpclient issue with https "org.apache.hc.core5.http2.impl.nio.ClientH2StreamMultiplexer"

2023-05-11 Thread Joan grupoventus
Hello Oleg,

We are finding an issue in a new installation of our app that is using
httpclient5-5.2.1 and httpcore5-5.2.

Our app is a proxy that receives protobuf requests that are sent to an amazon
endpoint that is responding with protobuf responses. We started this
communication by using plain http, processing around 4.000 req/s. Everything OK.

But when we move to live https must be used to communicate with this endpoint,
just changing the url from http:// to https://

So we changed it and after 30 seconds testing we got an OutOfMemoryException,
the heap was exhausted.

Below an histogram using http (just the first 2 items):
num #instances #bytes  class name
--
   1:181753   52412760
   2:218819   46398592  [B

And the histogram using https after 30s:
num #instances #bytes  class name
--
   1:224873 3216328416  [B
   2:182417   52604088

So the space occupied by byte arrays moves from 46Mb to 3GB. So we decided to
perform a heap dump and analyze it to find out where these 3GB byte arrays are
coming from, and we have seen this:

178 instances of
"org.apache.hc.core5.http2.impl.nio.ClientH2StreamMultiplexer", loaded by
"org.apache.catalina.loader.ParallelWebappClassLoader @ 0x400768258e8" occupy
2.999.171.840 (88,20 %) bytes
http://www.grupoventus.com/resources/top_dominator_class.png

If we analyze each one of these 178 instances of ClientH2StreamMultiplexer, it
seems the OutputBuffer is holding around 16Mb for each instance, multiplied by
178 gives as a result these 3GB:
http://www.grupoventus.com/resources/output_buffer.png

I’m not sure if this is a bug, we have been using https with these same
versions against other endpoints and we never had a problem. Anyways it does
not seem a memory leak, because if you keep the traffic stable, the space
occupied by these instances seems to not be growing.

Let me know what you think, and if you need more information (logs about http
traffic, etc).

Thanks,

Joan.

Thanks for the fast response,

I did tried to add a tiddly in your page and was not saved (wich is nice).
¿Do you have to enter your GitHub password everytime you do want to save
changes?

I found this solution that works too:

1) start a LXC container or VM in your proxmox server.
2) inside the LXC, type:
   2.1)  "npm install -g tiddlywiki"
   2.2) "ip a" to get the eth0 ip addres of the LXC, in my case
"192.168.4.71"
   2.3) "mkdir /home/tiddlywiki"
   2.4) "tiddlywiki mywiki --init server"
   2.5) "mywiki --listen host=192.168.4.71 port=8080"
3) tiddlywiky is accesible by typing "192.168.4.71:8080" within any web
browser from a device located in the same LAN
4) *Optional*: Make "192.168.4.71:8080" reachable to WAN by forwarding it
to your domain via cloudflare tunnel.

[protobuf] Streaming protobuf

2023-05-09 Thread Joan Balagueró
Hello,

I'm receiving protobuf messages from a client (I can't modify them in any
way) with a list of hotels. There are hotels in the 90% of the times, but I
need to differentitate when I receive hotels and when not.

The proto file for "no hotels" is something like below (simplified):
1: {
1: {}
2: {}
}

Is there any way to check the "2:" element is empty without loading the
whole proto into memory?

Thanks,

Joan.

Re: Dubtes de targeta gràfica

2023-04-23 Thread Joan Baptista
Hola, Joan.

servir targeta gràfica integrada i després, fins fa poc, hi vaig tenir

*Sourceforge
*i vaig millorant i actualitzant sovint, fent servir el "Ou de pasqua"

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-vega-11.c3054

- https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-hd-5830.c251

- https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-210.c2020

capacitat de càlcul/CPU i memòria.

Re: Open Office Crashes

Thanks for your very detailed instructions to be able to open my documents and
to find them after they are saved.  However, I have 4.1.6 (not 14) and I wonder
if I should download the 4.1.14?   When you say to   'quit' open office, the
only option close to that would be to delete.  I'm afraid to delete it, as I
have journals on my computer back 35 years, and they are all in .odt format.
When I open windows explorer, I did not see the folders app to 'view hidden
folders' but I did "view hidden items".  If you advise me to install Apache
Open Office 4.1.14, should I uninstall 4.1.6 first?
I've been typing from a handwritten journal 1983-87--and yesterday I retyped 7
pages that were lost from the last two days, and right after I saved it, I
tried to open it, and the only one by that name that would open was missing a
whole month of 7 typed pages.  In an effort to open it, I now have 6  folders
of the same name in 'recent files' and they all tell me 'The requested
operation requires elevation."
I have been unable to find my user information.  but maybe if I have the later
edition it would work.  Again, thank you so much--I've really made a mess of
things in my new computer, and need a lesson on organizing.  I'm having trouble
seeing what is on the C drive and what is on my flash drive--I'd like to move
all the flash drive docs over..
II await your advice.

https://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html

I know you said you removed it, but make sure you're also installing the
latest version.

I too get frustrated sometimes, but then I remind myself it's free and
does what I want & need. Also keep in mind that anyone who is helping
you is doing so as a volunteer. None of us are employees of OpenOffice.

If the above doesn't help, try to remember exactly what you were doing

Are you in Cal, Writer, and what was the last action you took. It could
be a bug.

Re: Now Microsoft has taken over my Dell laptop and blocks printing Open Office docs on default printer

2023-04-15 Thread Joan Bagley
 I have 3 choices for printing (none of which make sense):      print to file
    Create single print job for collated output
    Use only paper tray from printer preferences.
]I ran a printer test page and the printer model says "Microsoft PWG Raster
class Driver"--(I have a  Canon MX490 series Printer WS)  Perhaps if you could
tell me how to get rid of the "Microsoft" it would work again.  Most of the
documents I try to print, even when I open from the Apache page, say < "The
required operation requires elevation."  So I can't even try to print..  I've
had this new HP since Feb. and it's amazing I got my check book to work and my
Print Shop and my Ancestral Quest.  It seems a simple word processing program
would work as well!

Re: Now Microsoft has taken over my Dell laptop and blocks printing Open Office docs on default printer

2023-04-12 Thread Joan Bagley
 Attention Steven Ahlers  (you answered my desperate plea and it almost worked.)
My problem is that I cannot open .odt  files in Windows 11 on my new HP laptop.
 So I went to my older Dell with Windows 11 and altlhough it opened and let me
edit and save a document I need, it will not print to my default printer.  This
is constantly getting worse!  grandmajoan

[Evergreen-general] Purging Holds

2023-04-11 Thread Joan Kranich via Evergreen-general
Hello,

C/W MARS is planning to begin anonymizing canceled and fulfilled holds
after a set period of time such as 3 months from cancellation or
fulfillment.

If your library purges holds, can you please tell me if the purging removes
the holds from a patron's holds history?

I have found documentation
<https://docs.evergreen-ils.org/eg/docs/latest/admin/purge_holds.html>on
the Evergreen site which indicates the purging does not remove the holds
from the history but I'm not sure. I've reviewed the settings in the Web
Client Server Administration>Global Flags too.

Thank you.

Re: Att: Open WPS In Openoffice

2023-04-09 Thread Joan Bagley
 That is so exciting!  I have WordPerfect files that I was tempted to delete
and so glad I did n't..
Now I need to find out what is blocking my .odt files from opening. It says
"The requested operation requires elevation." when I try to open an Open Offce
Document (.odt) whether I wrote it today or 3 years ago.

[nysbirds-l] Sandhill Crane pair in Tupper Lake (Franklin Co.)

2023-03-27 Thread Joan Collins
I observed a Sandhill Crane pair at noon today along Route 30 in Tupper
Lake. They were walking into the marsh where there was a nest last year -
the marsh is currently under the snow! (Marsh by the bowling alley with a
viewing deck.) I took a few photos (although not a great time of day for
photography) that I included in eBird at
https://ebird.org/atlasny/checklist/S131988375 . The male (larger bird) was
continuously displaying. Sandhill Cranes have been nesting in Tupper Lake
every year now since 2016. (First 6 years in the marsh between the Raquette
River and Simon Pond off Raquette River Dr. and last year for the first time
in the marsh off Route 30 by the bowling alley.) They return in late March
each year when we still have winter weather conditions.

[protobuf] Missing field converting proto message from byte[] to "com.google.protobuf.Message"

2023-03-27 Thread Joan Balagueró
Hello everyone,

I'm absolutely new to probuf. So this is my issue.

We have implemented a proxy that receives a protobuf message as a byte
array in a post message, and we only have to bypass this proto to the
backend, receive the response (also in protobuf) and return it to the
origin. That works.

The point is that I need to convert this received proto message to
a com.google.protobuf.Message because I need to get a couple of values.

The point is when I convert the byte array proto to a Message object, the
field I need ('Meta') is missing.

Attached the .proto file. I can't get the 'Meta' field, instead I get a:
"fields {
  key: ""
  value {
  }
}"

message Request {
   Meta Meta = 1;
   repeated int32 Hotels = 2 [packed = false];
   Country Market = 3;
   repeated Room Rooms = 4;
   .bcl.DateTime CheckIn = 5;
   .bcl.DateTime CheckOut = 6;
   OptionalCriteria OptionalCriteria = 7;
}
message Meta {
   int32 Client = 1;
   int32 Brand = 2;
   bool UseCache = 3;
   .bcl.TimeSpan CutOffTime = 4;
   bool B2C = 5;
   Language Language = 6;
   Currency Currency = 7;
   bool IncludeProviderAudit = 8;
   SalesChannel SalesChannel = 9;
}

When I try to get the message in this way:
public static Message fromByteArrayToMessage(byte[] body) throws
IOException {
return Struct.newBuilder().mergeFrom(body).build();
}

I get the following, where everything is right except the 'Meta':
fields {
  key: ""
  value {
  }
}
2: 9836
2: 320488
2: 487215
3: 724
4: {
  1: {
1: 30
  }
  1: {
1: 30
  }
}
5: {
  1: 38994
}
6: {
  1: 38998
}
7: {
  4: 1
}

Any help will be really appreciated.

Joan.

Hi,

I am using cloudstack 4.16 and usage records are generated and wrong hours
are available for cloudstack deleted root disks in usage response.

Can someone explain to me how to stop those invalid responses ?
