Re: [all-audio] gold wave and manually splitting files question

2024-03-18 Thread Robert Byers via groups.io

Hi Casey!

In goldwave with your file loaded, press
Ault-T this will take you to the Options menu.
Then press "Ault-a" to insert markers then press Enter twice for this to
happen.
Once Goldwave has created the q points, press "Ault-s" and Goldwave will
split the file in to separate tracks.

I hope this helps.

Subject: [all-audio] gold wave and manually splitting files question

Hi if you have an album that is one long file.

And you would like to use gold wave to split up the file in to separate
tracks.

What is the best way to do that?

And how do you rewind and fast forward The file so you can add your start
and end markers where you want them?

And what keys do you use for the start and end markers?

One last question is when you are playing the file and you want to add your
start marker how do you pause the file and resume it so you can add the end
marker when you want to

Hey.
Yeah, I guess that is a good idea then. Seems very peculiar that th is is
happening. I wonder what else is wrong.

I would send a note to goldwave support. I am running the latest version of
goldwave on a windows 10 machine with no problems.

Hey all.

I posted quite some time ago about a new version of goldwave that installed
and deleted all the default key bindings. Yes, the default ones. F4 to play
would still work, but not much else..couldn't record with ctrl-f9, rewind
with f5, or anything. I went into the keyboard settings and most keyboard
assignments seem blank. At the time I reverted to version 6.36 and installed
that, as it was the latest one I had an install for that still worked as
expected. I know you can add these manually in goldwave, but why would I
want to? These have been default keyboard assignments forever.

I also noticed some time back that winget was not installing goldwave,
because the hash did not match. Today I ran winget and it found goldwave
6.80. I thought, Well ok sure, why not try it? The hash seems good so maybe
all the files are there in the package like theyr'e supposed to be?

Nope..still not getting keyboard assignments. Look in the keyboard area of
options and most things are still showing no keyboard command.

What is going on here? What are they doing? Is nobody else experiencing
this? At the time of my initial post,oh, maybe a year ago, people said new
versions were working fine. However, installing any new version of goldwave
definitely is breaking key bindings for me. I'm about to return to v6.36
once again.

Any thoughts?
