Yes, I see. After resiting page you have to "unzoom" to see all drawing
elements. Scroll slider is related to page size and can not be used to make
elements outside the page visible.
I believe that that works "as designed", so enhancement request; user experience
team should decide. I can live with the current behaviour.

I modified the patch a little bit. Now I overload the method ProcessWindowEvent
and set table to NULL when it is dying.

void OTableWindowAccess::ProcessWindowEvent( const VclWindowEvent&
rVclWindowEvent )
{
if ( rVclWindowEvent.GetId() == VCLEVENT_OBJECT_DYING )
m_pTable = NULL;

VCLXAccessibleComponent::ProcessWindowEvent( rVclWindowEvent );
}

PPS:
For this:

Last line [Left ; Centered ; Justified ; Right]
(good for lyrics/poems) ^

it would be necessary first, to make this option available for all alignments
(not only for justified as it is now)
And - it should work in the sense of "Last line - if it's not the first (only)
line of the paragraph".

And/or it could be even one more option:
First line [Left ; Centered ; Justified ; Right]
And - this should work in the sense of "First line - always - also if it's the
last (cause only) line of the paragraph".

For Poems it's good (at least in german):

blablabla blablabla blablabla blablabla blablabla blablabla blablabla
   blablabla blablabla blablabla blablabla
   blablabla blablabla
blublublu blublublu blublublu blublublu blublublu blublublu blublublu
   blublublu blublublu blublublu blublublu
   blublublu blublublu

("first line left, paragraph right")

Please REOPEN

In DEV300_m28 on WinXP, only select the cell then copy the cell, paste the
cell into another text-based application (such as Notepad), it happens.
But if I select the value of the cell by double click, copy the value and
paste it into another text-based application (such as Notepad), it doesn't
happen.

So, please confire it in the latest build, mark_jones.

"=EOMONTH(A1;-13)" returns 39813 but not date.

Click Format->Page, select Column tab.
Some of the word "column" are translated to "栏", and some are translated
to "列".
Accord to the convention of zh-CN, they should be all translated to "栏".

Click Format->Columns..., the same problem exist in Column dialog.

I'll attach screenshots to show you.

@clu: From what I have experimented on several machines the specific way to
switch, whether via keyboard shortcut or context menu, or if extra actions are
performed during the procedure does not seem to matter. Neither does the version
of OOo count. The deadlock is always reproduceable. Would you please re-verify
it on a Windows, with email account configured, and address book created in a
thunderbird or Outlook Express?

Thanks.

@clu: The concept of switching input method or languages could be unfamiliar to
western users, but is very essential to Chinese (and probably other Asian) users
who input non-ASCII characters via a standard keyboard. In Windows users can
organize their input methods and languages in "language bar", and here is a link
on MS website that may be helpful:

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/cc452fac-0858-4baf-bc01-005ef3c901751033.mspx

The links to "Add an input language" and "Change your input language" on that
page may be helpful, too.

The pictures on that page used Windows Vista as example, but I can recall
Windows 2000 already have this feature, I uploaded several pictures on Windows
XP for better illustration.

By the way whether this problem exists on Windows 2000 and Vista as well are yet
to be verified.

thx.

When I type any word- even a easy word, such as "the" or "so" or a long
correctly spelled word-like "because", it counts it as spelled wrong. When I go
into the dictionary-it only shows a few acronyms like WWW for example. Last
week when I downloaded OpenOffice 3.0 Beta Release 2 for Windows it gave me
errors. When I installed it on another computer, that runs the same OS, juyst
has a bigger hard driveand less powerful hard drive, the same thing happened.
When I was writing a letter to somewheone in OpenOffice.org Beta Writer, all of
the correctly and revised words came up wrong. Then, I recorded some tempatures
in Calc, the same thing happened. I was putting the information in to make a
chart. The words were all spelled correctly but identified as wrong.

First row of a spreadsheet should be # 0, not 1. Cells will be A0, A1, ...
Programmers should benefit, since arrays are usually indexed from 0, not 1.
Reading old files should be no problem: row 0 will be empty. User can use it for
a title, ignore it, or delete it --which will decrement all row numbers by,
effectively 'converting' the spreadsheet to the new format, where rows are
numbered from 0.

Quote discoleo:
The problem with the proposed approach is:

1. variable names have to be typed
***What do you mean? How will Calc know I want to name a variable 'Abcd02Jimmy'
unless I type it in?

2. cells can be selected with the mouse
I mention this, because it is easy to mistype something like AB_6 or AB6v and
still end with cell [AB6] instead of the variable name.
***There seems to be a misunderstanding. Variable AB_6 has nothing to
do with
cell AB6. it could be associated with cell H41. (Why I call a variable 'AB6' is
my business; it could be because it contains the product AB*6, or whatever...)
In fact, that's the problem: if I use 'AB6' in an expression, Calc assumes I
refer to cell AB6 when I really wanted to refer to cell H41.

IF the user names something PI2, or to give an example that I often use APACHE2,
then I still believe that the chance of an error will be dim and the chance of a
calculation with a cell PI2 (and APACHE2 - when spreadsheets will support as
many columns) is rather small.

But as you said, it is not zero.
***Exactly! To me, 'PI2' referred to Pi*2 (ie, 6.28...) which I had
pre-calculated and stored in cell D1; Calc (ver.3) assumed I was referring to
cell PI2, which is empty. But if the cell were'nt empty, Calc would not give me
a div0 error, but it would quietly give a wrong result!

Instead of forbidding valid names (and highly
desirable names), I would adopt an overall better solution:
 - Calc could detect such conflicts and mark the respective cell
-- mark only IF the cell is non-empty
-- it is unlikely that the user would reference an empty cell
***'unlikely', 'dim' or 'small' chances (above) and 'rare occurrences'
(below)
are not a good basis for reliable programming. What if the non-empty cell
becomes empty later? Or, if the user references an empty cell he intends to
fill?

I still believe that the liberal use of names greatly outweighs the negative
consequences. If people were using more often names, then they would start both
to organise better their spreadsheet and also reduce a great number of other
errors. This would by far offset the rare occurrence of the mentioned naming
conflict.
***'liberal'? There are always restrictions to variable names: reserved
words
like FOR, IF, ELSE in many languages, forbidden characters like space, ?, ., &,
etc. So, forbidding the family of reserved words of the form AAAnnn (eg, AB6 or
APACHE234) should surprise or upset no-one, and would prevent confusion with
cell references once for all --no 'ifs', 'that's unlikely', 'that will seldom
happen', ...
Incidentally, you mention the problem of typing mistakes. Well, it's
easier to
type 'MS' instead of 'MonthlySalary' or 'monthly_salary', but the later forms
are recognized as far superior for clarity. The meaning of 'MS' may be obvious
when you write it, but will be far more obscure when you revise the spreadsheet
6 months from now. Unless you reserve a table of comments where you explain that
'MS=monthly salary'-- but that has to be typed!

Using OOO300m1 (Build:9342):

- it is not possible to create libraries for any scripting language, using
"Tools -> Macros -> Organize Macros -> JavaScript | BeanShell | Python" in the
"user" or "share" realm,

- it is not possible to edit or run pre-installed scripts in the "share" realm
via the "Macros" menu,

- creating libraries and creating/editing/running scripts does work for the
document realm.

[Did not find any issues as of yet about this, and also did not get any feedback
in the <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> list.]

TextEdit, the basic text editor for Mac OS X, behaves thusly, OOo should mimic
its functionality for better integration.

Cursor moving navigations:
Command+Up: Navigate cursor to beginning of document
Command+Down: Navigate cursor to end of document
Command+Left: Navigate cursor to beginning of line
Command+Right: Navigate cursor to end of line
Option+Up: Navigate cursor to beginning of line
Option+Down: Navigate cursor to end of line
Option+Left: Navigate cursor to next word
Option+Right: Navigate cursor to previous word

Holding down shift while using any of these combinations does the same
navigation, and also selects the text between the beginning and end positions.

Scroll viewport navigations:
Home: Scroll to beginning of document, but do not change cursor position
End: Scroll to end of document, but do not change cursor position
PageUp: Scroll up one page, but do not change cursor position
PageDown: Scroll down one page, but do not change cursor position

Holding down shift while using any of these combinations does the same
navigation, and also selects the text between the beginning and end positions.
This results in moving the cursor if the user hits the left or right arrow
(depending on if they selected forward or backward respectively).

IFERROR is (AFAIK) a new built-in function introduced in Excel 2007. As such, a
file saved by Excel 2007 that contains use of this function creates an interop
issue, even if the file is saves as the legacy binary format (.xls).

Just found 300dev_m1 on the ftp server.

You were correct, m1 is somehow newer than m29.

Now the question should be why? If it's a continuation of the 300dev snapshot
sequence, it should be m30. And the latest snapshot on the website is still m29,
hence the confusion.

I'll leave this as unconfirmed, at least until someone can explain the use of an
"older" name.

Question? Since when has m1 been newer than m29? The latest snapshot is
300DEV_m29.

If it's telling you to download 300dev_m1, then that's an error. Either that or
OO.org is using a very strange system of filenames for their snapshots.

Of course, it could be that m1 should be m30 (or dev301_m1), but it would still
be an error.

JBV^_^

DEV300m28 had a severe incompatibility in the DBA code modules, which makes it
crash pretty often.

Care to try this in DEV300m29 or OOO300m1?

[sw-issues] [Issue 92577] Linebreaking does not work properly with Japanese punctuation

tora->fme: Thank you for giving me a chance to comment.

Current implementation of OOo has two lists of characters:
 (1) Not at start of line
 (2) Not at end of line

Theoretical implementation might have three lists of characters:
 (1) Not at start of line
 (2) Not at end of line
 (3) Punctuation

Current implementation of OOo treats (1) as (3) while Word seems to use three
lists. In Word, a set of both (1) and (2) can be tweaked in a similar way of
OOo through one of the followings:
 - the tab Asian Typography of the menu Tools > Options
 - the button Options in the tab Asian Typography of the menu Format > Paragraph

Word names (1) "Cannnot start line:" and (2) "Cannot end line:."

(3) of Word could be specified through somewhere or be hard-coded. I am not
sure,
but the dialog Properties of IME 2003 has a combo box listing the following
combinations:
 (a) 、。 u3001 and u3002 (widely used for several purposes)
 (b) ,. uFF0C and uFF0E (sometimes used in a thesis, similar paper, book,...)
 (c) 、. u3001 and uFF0E (sometimes can be seen in a book or magazine)
 (d) ,。 uFF0C and u3002 (sometimes can be seen in a book or magazine)

http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U3000.pdf
http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/UFF00.pdf

Some punctuation characters described above and some special characters such as
「 and 」, u300C and u300D can be pushed within the margin. Word offers this
feature while current OOo does not. A concept of this feature is illustrated
in http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/18738/concept01.png
attached in the issue 36313.

http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/18786/Japanese_Justification_0.1.sxw
attached in the issue 36408 does also try to describe the concept, but it has
not been finished yet.

In sum, it would be better if OOo has the third list (3) for punctuation
characters which sorely can be hanged beyond the margin and the first list (1)
should not be used for the hanging characters.

In addition to the third list (3), a new feature could be also incorporated.
The feature compresses a total width of line to meet to the margin by slightly
shrinking rooms between every characters in a line if the line ends with a
hanging punctuation character or a combination of one or more hanging
characters.

I strongly vote for studalks comments!!!

In
Format - Paragraph - Alignment
I find (in OO3beta):
[] Left
[] Right
[] Center
[] Justified
Last line [Left ; Centered ; Justified]
[] Expand single word
(and Text-to-text-alignment)

And I would like to have the following 2 items in addition:

1.
Last line [Left ; Centered ; Justified ; Right]
(good for lyrics/poems) ^

2.
[] Expand manually broken lines
for which the default is not important for me, but I would uncheck this
checkbox!

I'm still seeing it in DEV300m23 (Build:9326) which I think is within a few days
of beta 2. I'm also seeing other problems with mousewheel scrolling, e.g.
sometimes the document zooms in or out (when I definitely don't have any
modifier keys pressed).

Of course 5350 was a typo.. anyway, issue 5250 is not a duplicate, it is
about entering a formula with newlines such that the formula would look
like

=expression1
+expression2

when the formula is edited. This is not possible, the cell created in
this case is an ScEditCell and thus loses formula functionality, and
is not covered by this patch.

The one aspect of linefeed in issue 5 indeed would be fixed with
this patch, but the underlying problem of that issue is something
completely different.

OO.Writer seems to not save correctly bookmarks in RTF format when the
bookmarked text contains one or more tables.

- To reproduce the problem simply write some text with a table inside, highlight
it and insert a bookmark. Then save the file in RTF format, close and re-open
and you can't find the bookmark in the file.

- If you open the saved RTF file with a text-editor you can see that the RTF tag
"bookmark start" ( {\*\bkmkstart [BOOKMARK NAME]} ) is in the file, but the RTF
tag "bookmark end" ( {\*\bkmkend [BOOKMARK NAME]} ) is missing.

- if you create a new file with the same procedure and saving it in ODT or DOC
format can notice that the bookmark remains in the document after close and
re-open it.

Using the "Tools" library you have changed the Code of the macro
"ArrayoutofString".
Unfortuantly a lot of other small and usefull maros used this part of code - and
now do not work any longer.
Example: FileNameoutofPath
It now returns the first element of the array not the last one!

Code should now be changed to:

Function FileNameoutofPath(ByVal Path as String, Optional Separator as String)
as String
Dim SepList() as String
If IsMissing(Separator) Then
Path = ConvertFromUrl(Path)
Separator = GetPathSeparator()
End If
SepList() = ArrayoutofString(Path, Separator)
FileNameoutofPath = SepList(ubound(SepList()))
End Function

So it work like before. Because this Funtion would be used in maros like
"DirectoryOutofPath" a lot of code designed in former versions did not work any
longer.

Please check and repair the code in tools.

The problem regarding vanished text "Position Held" and Reason for Leaving" is
already tracked in issue 55074. You can workaround it by the following in OO
Writer:
- remove write protection from the sections in Format.Sections dialog
- click into the eferring table cell and press Ctrl-A to select whole content of
the cell
- in Format.Paragraph set the indents to 0.00.

First mentioned problem looks good on my systems (WinXP and SUSE Linux 10.1). I
can imagine that the font displaying the symbols for the fields in the Arial
font does not have the proper characters. Does installing a proper Arial font on
your system solve this issue?

I've seen that OO DB doesn't support CDX (compound index ) files.
These are the index files of DBASE or CODEBASE.

1. in the native (hsql) database you have 3 states
2. the office 'only' connects to the underlying database and can only handle,

condition to reprogram the database engine)

=> close as 'worksforme'
