To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=101217 --- Additional comments from coleban...@openoffice.org Thu Aug 13 14:07:25 + 2009 --- Kaspersky Anti-Virus solutions (and most likely others too) read the digital signature vendor name, and compares it with a built-in list of trusted applications. If the app is in the list, it is handled with predefined security- rules. In this case, the user doesn't need to answer so many questions from the AV. So, signing the executables can help providing a better user experience.. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 94736] Automatic linebreak hides space characters
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=94736 Issue #|94736 Summary|Automatic linebreak hides space characters Component|Word processor Version|OOo 3.0 RC3 Platform|DEC URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|editing Assigned to|mru Reported by|colebantam --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Oct 7 12:16:50 + 2008 --- In the OOo 3 Release candidates (tested in RC3 and RC4) space characters are hidden, if a automatic linebreak happens. How to reproduce: 1. Open a new Writer Document 2. Type a (without ) until the first is almost at the end 3. Type a Space Character 4. Type b until the first line is full (no linebreak must happen until now!) 5. Type a Space again 6. Type some c characters 7. Place the cursor ath the beginning of line 2 (in front of the C's) 8. type some more Space characters Expected behavior: The space characters should move the c characters to the right, revealing the amount of space characters. Actual behavior: The c character group is NOT moved to the right. No effect is visible at all.. Why this is anoying: At first this seems like beeing not so bad, but if the first line is edited, and gets shorter or longer, the hidden spaces are revealed, and very large groups of spaces could appear. This is definitely a bad behavior in my opinion... Target Milestone: I think its to late that for, but I would like to see that fixed before OOo 3 release ;-) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. DicBack.cmd was not intended as a solution to the problem, but as a quick'n dirty workaround. I wrote it for my friends and customers to simplify the update from 2.0 to 2.0.1, and decided afterwards that it might be useful for others to, and that for attached it to this thread. Shared Layer: This proposal of is is what I mentioned in the previous thread. I wrote that there should be a OO Folder in All Users\Application Data which contains the shared data. Of course is wrote it more detailed and from a more inside technical view ;-) I hope this new layer can be introduced without many other changes. Nevertheless, if OOo gets a new layer, a converter would be fine... Target: I fear that targeting this issue to Version 3 is far to late! I think a 2.1 Version Target would be much better. Also, I think that a solution for the 2.0. x Series should be introduced. Of course it makes no sense to implement a merge system for every file that could be changed by users (as is said), but an simple switch (Don't update my Dictionarys) in the installer would solve the problem at first. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Nevertheless, the problems with the dictinary.lst could be solved by the installer. A simple option in the installer don't delete/replace my Dictionaries, which tells the installer to don't touch the dict folder, would solve the problem. (To be honest, I think nearby ALL users don't wants their dic's to be deleted, so this option might not even be necesery, but could be hard wired [*.ini].) The correct behavier in long term would be to store the dictionarys/templates not in the programm directory, but in the All Users/Application Data Folder. Files in that folder should survive the OO 2.0 Installer routines? So what Component should this issue be reported to? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Outlook is not set as standard E-Mail client This is very anoying, since I want Thunderbird to be my Default Mail Client. So if I set Outlook to be, a mailto link on website opens a compose mail window in outlook instead of Thnderbird. 2.) I have the some problem, with OO 2.0.1 RC2 Installer not detecting the already installed 2.0. I think for a modern software, that not anly wants to get new users, but also to keep the existing, this is a must have feature... - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Or does anyone realy wants to explain his/her friends/customers why the 2.0.1 update could mess up there installation, and that they must install there wordbooks (for example) again? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [dba-issues] [Issue 50681] Address-Book Datasource W izard must allow user to specify addressbook l ocation
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=50681 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Dec 8 07:17:57 -0800 2005 --- I had the same problem just now. I configered the Thunderbird adressbook several times, but no etries showed up. Queit some time later, I realized, that there is still a Mozilla Suite installation. And since the automatic created account in mozilla is allways named default, OOo 2.0 opend this Adressbook, instead of the Thunderbird one... So there is a workaround - rename the profiles, than OO can separate them. But in long terms there should be implemented a better solution. I think it would be ok, when the addresswizard of OO2 REALY looks (only) in the thunderbird Profile folder, and not in the mozilla suite profile folder. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It is correkt that 2.0.1 imports most settings from 2.0, but not all. In every scenario the dictionay.lst is overwritten with a default one. This fores the user to reinstall all used dictionarys. An anvanced user off course can backup the file before, but the average user will not be amused to have to reconfigure ... If 2.0 was installed to a userdefined path, and the update is made to the default path (And vice versa?), then will also the templates be lost. Again, the adcanced user can backup, but normal users... In my opinion these 2 problems should be solved before releasing 2.0.1. If 2.0.1 contains an important security fix that should be out as soon as possible, the sitiation is different off course... - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
