I find the idea of localizing the png names such a brilliant one. It must be
great to be able to write سَهْم.png instead of Arrow_ar.png :) or तीर.png
instead
of Arrow_hi.png :)

This is not happenning in GoOo versions that can be downloaded from
http://go-oo.org.
The solution would be to upgrade the OOo libwpd to 0.8.14. Free to do it, it is
a free software released under LGPL 2.1+

@ama: sorry for that. Andreas, I was never doubting about the fix. I was not
even thinking that it would need a confirmation, since you had the bugdoc and
yourself you told me that it fixed the issue.
Nevertheless, very sorry if I did something inappropriate. Thanks for the fix.

Abandon it. While it solves some issues, it brings other ones and the whole

The patch fixes some uninitialized variables in ImplControlValue ctors that can
come to bite us later on. Like they do in vcl/unx/kde/salnativewidgets-kde.cxx
where there is a switch ( aValue.getTristateVal() ) that makes valgrind go
mad.

@ama: this smells for me a race condition somewhere. That would explain the
impossibility to reproduce it always for sure on my side and the difference of
behaviour of debug/non-debug builds inside my gdb.
I am also trying helgrind tool in valgrind to see whether it tells us something
useful.

@ama: see for reference https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=388069
I sometimes have to update the index several times in a debug build to get it to
crash. I could not lay my hand on it and then I run OOo through valgrind and it
was showing me invalid read of size 8 (on 64bit) in the
SwModify::GetRegisteredIn(). Adding the check made it impossible for me to
reproduce the crash. Removing the fix makes the reproduction again easy. It is
quite possible that it is only solving the symptoms. So, any insight will be
appreciated.

If word has two sections following each other that differ in either
page-orientation, page-height or page-width, a section-break-continuous between
them is interpreted by Word8 as if there was a section-break-next-page. So, the
following patch is emulating this behaviour in our ww8 import too.

Couple of for-loops in sw/source/filter/ww8/wrtw8nds.cxx allow for illegal
memory access due to incomplete check for array bounds.

OK, can anybody create the issue, I am still on sickness leave (my son just
underwent a surgery).
I tried to see whether the css.whatever.FilterOptionDialog is correctly used by
creating a dummy empty dialogue for wp filter and it was not fired.
OTOH the writer text encoded dialogue is fired and thus the component from
SwXFilterOptions is fired.

Please, don't integrate, this problem is multidimensional. We have it almost
solved in ooo-build, but it exhibits some 6+ problems with APOs.

[sw-issues] [Issue 78569] Integrate T602 import filt er

Ok, as consequence of the removal of the possibility to force a document to be
imported by this filter (which I btw approve completely), the encoding choice in
the OptionDialogue is superfluous, since a T602 documents have their encoding
specified by the number that follows @CT in the header. As a consequence, a
choice of encoding other then autodetect is overriding this and is highly likely
to chose at best the same correct encoding the autodetect will chose.
I also have some questions about whether importing the dot-commands as text is
useful for other purposes then debugging. Since they are formating codes and a
user lambda should not have to deal with them.
This is all my opinion, so take it with your best judgment.

So, here we hit a difference in concepts between WW8 and ODF file-formats. The
page styles from odf are not mapping without loss to WW8 sections and it is true
the other way round. If you want, create a new issue for the case you are
describing. If you feel like fixing it, but please ask cmc before you waste your
time. A 100% fidelity cannot be achieved in this stage.

@mru: what will be the content of the headers/footers? If they are empty, it is
ok, because the MS Word file-format cannot do anything else: Once there is a
section with header/footer before the one without it, you have to override it by
an empty header footer. Unless you do that, the header and footer from the
previous section will be inherited from the previous section.

@mru: I just rebuilt with that patch and verified that in the document that has
first page without header/footer and the other with them, the first page is not
having any header/footer. In the document where first page has header/footer and
the others don't have, we export it as a document with header/footer on first
page and with empty header/footer on other pages. This is the only way one can
do it in WW8 file-format. Now, the regression is even more serious and that is
why I insist. Because instead of two CR I write currently only one CR that
renders the documents invalid from the point of view of WW8 file-format. Word
can render them, but you cannot do anything with the headers in the header-less
sections anymore and it is even likely that other applications that rely on
valid WW8 documents might crash with the current state. So, please, a little
effort to integrate this one.

@mru: this is then a problem of the import. We should then check whether the
headers/footers are empty and not import them. But this bug was about export. I
am not able to create a document using Word 2003 that would have first page with
a header and second without any. There will be an empty header. Never mind, if
you people don't want this fix, just revert the fix from issue 84747 so that we
don't produce invalid documents.

@mru: accidentally, if you export the document using our Word95 filter and
import into Word 2003, you will have the headers/footers on all pages. So, our
Word95 import/export is getting the documents wrong. I might have a look at that
for 3.0, but now the fix is simply crucial not to screw badly the WW8
import/export for 2.4
And it is true that my fix for this achieved among other things that the
header/footer-less documents will not have header/footer, not even empty. That
is possible in the file-format.
But as I said, if you don't want the fix, please revert the patch in issue
84747. I really am not going to spend more time to fix. I got the information
about this bug report last friday, I spent the night from Friday to Saturday
generating documents and studying the file-format to do the right thing. I have
this patch in ooo-build, so... I really don't want to spend my energy fighting
wind-mills :(

Yes, I created a regression, I admit. I spent a night of my own private time to
fix the regression. Now, what else can I do?

Hbrinkm: I cannot agree. I included with this one a serious regression where the
headers and footers are not written correctly (for empty headers only one CR)
that can work a bit with MS Word, but it will leave the documents in a incorrect
state where you cannot edit in Word the headers/footers of those sections. The
impact can be quite bad. I strongly suggest that we still push this one into 2.4

So, this is the verdict: If you look at the difference between the two files
exported as indented flat xml, you will see that the issue is caused by the
absence of draw:page-thumbnail .../ tag in the original one. Since this file
was produced by the ppt import. It would be very advisable to see why these
property was not created on import. I modified the file by creating this tag
with the dimensions and the position from the draw:custom-shape .../ tag (+
also an automatic style that corresponds to this object). And the thumbnails
suddenly appear correctly. I guess, it could be very easy to fix for someone who
is familiar with the code, since all the information we need is already
imported.

I would just try to put some softening to the abuse of
EXTERNAL_WARNINGS_NOT_ERRORS. The directories that were flagged as such are
actually directories that are built, but the code path is not used by anybody in
the current state. So, sometimes it is preferable to let the warnings there and
be sure that they are fixed once after a mature reflection then to make integer
casts that will silence them and might render real code errors not-detectable.

There is no need to copy anything. Explicit is nice because it showed a place
where const reference should be used instead of passing object by copy

Pouring ashes on my head, the explicit is actually a proper fix (although the
const reference is valid too). Making copy constructor explicit is causing a

All applications (base, writer, calc, impress, draw, math...) depend on solaris
on openofficeorg-core10 package that normally contains the freetype library. It
this one is not built, the packages are not installable (one can still force
them though)

The issue is that if a section is having header/footer, we write the header
footer into the header/footer stream. If it is followed by a section that does
not have one, we don't write anything, so Word is interpreting it as
header/footer being shared with the previous section. This patch writes empty
header when a section does not have any.

Mathias, I would still wait for about a week or two with this one. With my QA
guy, we inflicted to each and every of the 46'000 documents a random corruption
using this tool: http://www.digitaldwarf.be/products/mangle.c
We discovered still that 5 of the corrupted documents were able to crash libwpd.
We fixed those crashes and we are instead terminating with an error. Although
the fix is already in, I am waiting for some thorough stress tests by my QA guy
before I release 0.8.13 so that we are completely sure that 0.8.13 will be the
most stable libwpd ever.

OK, libwpd 0.8.8 and lower had an exploitable buffer overflow. I had a CWS where
I could put it without shouting too loud, because if I release libwpd before
OOo, iDefense would go public. So I did it in the patches. Is it enough
background?
BTW: each release of libwpd is tested with more then 46000 documents for
regressions, I don't see any thorough Hamburg QA beat the results.

OK, libwpd 0.8.12 has a load of fixes. The only problem is that myself, I am
completely discouraged to do any CWS work ATM. So, if someone wants, this
version of library is working well in Go-oo and it is LGPL-ed. The thing would
be to upload it, make some QA guy to run the incantations on it and integrate.

The tarball is at http://libwpd.sf.net

@pjanik: the attached file zak.602 is normal kamenicky encoded text. It does
not have @CT string at the beginning of the file and thus T602 typedetection
cannot take it over. If it did, all content of /var/log would pass through the
filter. The filter that opens this one is the encoded text filter and it is
IMHO correct like this.
The general IO error is a standard error when a filter returns sal_False. It is
not the fortunate situation, but there is no other way the filter method can
communicate to the system that it did not convert the document once it is
called. The Cancel is meaning exactly that - the user prevented the filter
from openning the document. Would be issue for framework project maybe to give
as a return value an enum with different states, but this would not be before
3.0 because of the way it would break compatibilities.

Currently, if one has a chain of --enable-crypt-link --disable-crypt-link, it
will be evaluated as enable crypt link. This patch is fixing this behaviour for
the pam, xrender and crypt
