Are we so sure that the current chosen modules (GDI+, XRender, Drawinglayer) are the one the OSes now (!) are powered to do these kind of tasks??? May be that the chosen modules are obsolete (at all or at least for these kind of tasks) and maintained by the various OSes only for retro-compatibility? I ask myself this question because I have in mind that in the 3D graphics we frequently deal with 30 or 40 fps (frames per second!!!) and here we are on the contrary speaking of 1 frame in 20 or more seconds and so 1/20 fps that is 0,05 fps...!!! Is this caused only for the pour 2D performance with respect to the richest 3D one or are the chosen modules obsolete as supposed by me? Do you think there are something that sound wrong? And this is not the sound card nor pulse audio! ;-) Carlo - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Both on linux, x86-64 (OpenSuSE, Go-OO derived and now Libò and vanilla linux x86-64 to help testing 3.3) and Windows. I just retest OOo 3.3, rc8, vanilla, linux x86-64 with my calc-with-graph file and this issue's file and these are the results: - with my multisheet Calc file (that I immediately attach) I must wait about 10 s to view one of last two graph sheets, xorg process gain 98% cpu for some seconds both in viewing graph sheet or scrolling it (each time), then cpu come back down and OOo is pretty usable; - with this issue Calc file I saw the two graphs after about one minute but OOo still remains occupied (cpu level at about 100%) and I must close (not kill) it. I think this behavior must be faced up. We have to deal with it to get more professional use of the very important OOo (and derived) part that is Calc with its functions and capabilities. Isn't it? What do you think about? - I think objects (graphs, non bitmap graphics file format, ...) cacheing (with the bitmap rendered version) is a good first way, but I ask myself because first render time is so high (too high!!!) and so what is wrong in some architectural choices. I think demanding to OS graph part the object rendering is a correct way but with this performance there is clearly something that escape and slip out to us. Is there someone (e.g. like someone of the Blender/FreeCad/Brl-Cad/Pov-Ray/... teams) that could help us first fixing and then re-engineering this subsystem? With the big regression amount experience for 3.3 and the fact that the 3.3 hasn't (correctly!!!) been released, I think it is NOT the time to start develop OOo 3.4!!! I think we MUST fix the bigger part of OOo 3.3.0 and THEN (and only, solely then!) branch the trunk to develop 3.4 or above versions. I want to see how many times now on fixes from OOo 3.3.x are communicated and ported to trunk (3.4 or above). I finally think that this is not happened or taken place many times in the analog situation from OOo 3.2.x and the trunk for 3.3, isn't it? Carlo p.s. Intelligent proposal/suggestion: why openoffice.org doesn't work to win32, win64 (!!!) and MacOSX develop and go-oo.org doesn't work on the linux/*BSD/... develop, does it?!!! And both communities ties together with an active and open minded ideas and code exchanges?!!! - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [xml-issues] [Issue 80679] Error in xhtml export (ove r H1 - H6 generation, i.e. H7)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=80679 Issue #|80679 Summary|Error in xhtml export (over H1 - H6 generation, i.e. H |7) Component|xml Version|OOo 2.2.1 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|code Assigned to|sus Reported by|strata --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Aug 14 17:18:58 + 2007 --- Hi Everyone and nice summer holidays, sometimes I export my italian curriculum vitae (my resume) from odt to xhtml format (and pdf too) to publish it on my personal web site. I use to reformat (beautify) the code with Eclipse (3.2.2 + JST + WST plugins) editor and so I note some warnings (Unknown tag (h7).) in OpenOffice xhtml file generation (H7 header generation). The 7.5.5 paragraph (Headings: The H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6 elements) in the html 4.01 specification document limit heading elements to six levels. The xhtml browser rendering (Firefox 2.0.0.x, Konqueror 3.5.7, Internet Explorer 7) of the generated xhtml document appear fine only correcting H7 tag (open and close tags) with H6 ones. I don't know if the xml (re)definition of html (i.e. xhtml) removes this limit (I haven't seen the dtd yet, http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd;). Look forward: Bernd Eilers check this and the dtd also limit headers till H6. I have seen behaviour both using OOo 2.2.0 and 2.2.1 (on OpenSuSE 10.2, OpenSuSE build service build, and on Windows XP, official it.openoffice.org build). After having pointed out (reported) this to the mailing list, I was approved to create this issue. Thanks, Carlo p.s. If the odt document is useful, I have no problem to provide it. [EMAIL PROTECTED] kindly answer to me in the [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list: Well the document created states it is using the following DTD in it´s Document Declaration: http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd that DTD in turn specifies !ENTITY % heading h1|h2|h3|h4|h5|h6 but does not specify anything like h7, h8, ... I can confirm that an export with an current OpenOffice.org version will create h7 etc. elements when something like heading7 has been used and that any XML Validator trying to validate such exported file will burp on that and show an error like: This file is invalid. Unexpected element h7 The error is in the xsl:template name=create-heading and xsl:template name=write-heading-number methods in the share/xslt/export/xhtml/body.xsl file of the OpenOffice.org installation where everything with an @text:level 6 must be handled special but isn´t yet. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. In that menu choose: Riga - Inserisci... - Posizione: Davanti / Dietro (radio button) or choose Colonna - Inserisci... - Posizione: Davanti / Dietro (radio button too) I think both are better, effective and immediate if would be ... - Inserisci... - Posizione: Prima / Dopo (radio button) All over the suite, in all similar case, there already is the correct translation Prima / Dopo with no doubt in the mean (like, on the contrary, is for this issue object).
