[graphics-issues] [Issue 97349] Kiosk Mode required which restricts navigation to *only* the use of navi gation buttons

Rapid e-Learning presentations can easily be a couple of hundred pages long. Therefore, standing out (i.e. coloured) "Beginning of Content" pages are necessary to make sorting the slides easier in the slide overview mode: they clearly mark the "crossing points" between the different content blocks. However, these "Beginning of Content" pages should only be visible in the presentation mode. The appropriate pages should not be "reachable" in the presentation mode. Two identical presentations have been attached to this issue in order to make things clear. The example files have been created in Impress and saved in Impress- and PowerPoint format. The PowerPoint presentation has been preset to the Kiosk Mode (Slide Show > Set Up Show). Please run the presentation of the Impress file in Impress and the PowerPoint file in PowerPoint. PowerPoint: Running the .ppt presentation in PowerPoint with the (preset) Kiosk-Mode, you can only navigate using the navigation buttons, but not with keystrokes or mouse clicks – and you won't be able to "reach" the "Beginning of Content" slides 2, 4 and 6 within the presentation mode. Impress: In Impress you can set up the presentation mode in a way that mouse click-navigation is disabled. However, if you run the .odp prensentation, you can still navigate with keystrokes (left/right) – and will thus see the structuring "Beginning of Content" pages 2, 4 and 6. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. As you may know, PowerPoint can be run in Kiosk Mode (Slide Show > Set Up Show). Within PP, this will prevent users from using mouse clicks, right click menu, mouse wheel or keystrokes to navigate - they have to go where your navigation buttons take them. This is great for (rapid) e-learning as it prevents 'cheating'. Within OO Impress, the Kiosk Mode does not deactivate the use of mouse click, page up/down and the navigation keys to scroll through the presentation. My request in the Support Forum confirmed my previous searches: 1. Impress has no such feature. 2. There is no extension that I have heard of that provides it. 3. There is no request for the feature that I can find. It would be great if such a feature could be developed, either as an implementation in the next version or an extension: For our rapid-learning project for the training of electronic technicians, we would very much like to use OpenOffice Impress as the software of our choice. The project is a research project, publicly funded by the German government and European institutions. The planned distribution of an Impress-based tool throughout Germany would provide huge publicity for OpenOffice and the idea of open source software. - However, we need the above named feature: the 'limitation' of the navigation to the hyperlinked navigation buttons. We are looking forward to your replies regarding the devlopment of such a feature!
