Regarding the wrong ASCII characters - I opened the document in MSWord and there the mentioned characters are no real characters. They are non-breaking spaces and optional hyphens. They are correctly imported - but just displayed differently in Writer. In print-out of both applications these characters are not printed. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The doc file contains a lot of table / cells that needed to be filled in on a character by character basis. There were at least 3 table / cells that merged everytime I saved and opened the doc file as a doc file (this problem goes away as soon as I save it as an odt). So for eg. the cells contains the following (- as cell separator for eg.) 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 will become 12 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 Another table / cells had a long text in the first cell and second empty for a check mark This is a Long - Text in the Cell - will become T h i s i s a ... so on Also in the same doc the following characters in ASCII code are not handled(?) and show up as gray in the text 160 173 The following ASCII code as a box 32 Please do the needful with this great product Thanks and regards Bhavbhuti - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I don't mind trying out this version provided nothing major is broken in wordprocessing with mail merge of VFP databases and regular worksheet. I am not a heavy user of the suite. Thanks for responding so fast mru. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Could you please try out, if the problem still occurs with an RC of OOo 3.1 from the download section? For the case you do not want to try an RC build or still encounter the problem with it, could you please attach a unedited version of the document so that we can reproduce the problem during export here? You can go easily back by de-installing dev 3.1 build afterwards. But if you do not want to try a dev build, you can attach the original document here - I will the test for you... - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. When is the 3.1 slated to be released? Can I make it the default instead of 3.01? Though I must say that the special/gray characters problem is still three Also in the same doc the following characters in ASCII code are not handled(?) and show up as gray in the text 160 173 The third one of box is resolved in Dev 3.1 See sample I have previously attached. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
