Yes, this might be. If OOo/Dejavu were installed for the first time, newer OOo
installations won't overwrite the avalable Font. Please check if deleting the
old font and re-installing OOo 3.2.1 fixes this problem.

I could reproduce this on another Windows computer. Again, DejaVu font *is* in
the Windows/Fonts folder. Could this mean a corrupted DejaVu font was packaged
with one of the earlier versions of OO.org?

It is true, the font is DejaVu Sans, but I didn't install it, neither messed
with it. I suppose it came with OpenOffice.org install? I tried to open the
document with Kubuntu Live CD and the error was not reproducible. I also
changed all the fonts in the styles and the problem is now gone. But note this
I wrote earlier:

After I edited the whole
document and removed every custom formatting, the problem is gone and layout
doesn't break anymore in this version of the document.

I used DejaVu Sans later and the problem was gone. So after I cleaned it up,
the document doesn't break anymore. I'm assuming the custom formatting came
from inserting text with character table.

We can probably close this, as this problem is probably caused by a bad
install, but if you need more info leave it opened.

@r33d3m33r/MRU/HDU: exceptionally ;) I'd like not to close this so fast
because...

1) I could reproduce the problem by chance loading the document on a machine
which didn't had DejaVu (before r33d3m33r explained it, so yes it is the
problem)

2) When a font is not physically present on the system we do a fallback to an
other font. If this fallback gives such a result, we have a problem with this
other font.

This is worth being investigated...

@HDU: load the attached document (page1.odt) on a system (first on Windows)
which doesn't have DejaVu. The text should be broken*** in some places.
Any comment?

In the meanwhile my document was already published, so I can attach the
problematic document here.
As soon as I try to strip the document to less pages, the errors become less
frequent. That means the probability, that the opened document will have no
errors, increases. I attached the part of the document that produces breaks
every
time I open it. Most ones are in the titles. I also attached a pdf of the
document, it's clearly visible here what the problem is. Can this be caused by
the spelling dictionary (Slovenian)?

I even cannot reproduce the problem with the attached document. Referring to you
screen shot this may result from a broken font on your system (Dejavu Sans?)

It is not reproducible.
That it is only happening for you makes the problem impossible for us now to
analyze.
Please isolate the problem to a minimum of pages/paragraph and replace the text
with something else which will make the document non confidential and easier to
handle.
Make sure the described problem happens in a reproducible manner.

Feel free to reopen when you will have this information.

Thank you for your answer. I downloaded OOo 3.2.1 RC1 (OOO320m17, Build 9498)
and
was testing the whole thing on all of my versions of the document. The problem
isn't fixed, but I noticed something that might help clarify things. It appears
that the text wasn't formatted only with styles, but for some unknown reason it
had individual markup applied to some portions of it. After I edited the whole
document and removed every custom formatting, the problem is gone and layout
doesn't break anymore in this version of the document. I have sent you the
problematic document over e-mail.

OpenOffice.org Writer version 3.2.0 (OOO320m12, Build:9483) randomly breaks the
layout of my document. The document is in .odt format and it is written from
scratch. It contains pictures, text, OLE objects (OOO.org equations, graphs and
spreadsheets). Everything is formatted via styles. When I reopen the document,
sometimes the error is gone, sometimes not. Screenshots are included:
