[android-developers] Re: APK Expansion Files do not work with Android Studio

2015-12-20 Thread anglomatestudio
Hi Russell,

If you have ended up here, that is very bad news for you.
I have been trying to implement the expansion files into my app for a week
and it still doesn't work. Google has stopped supporting a few things that
they still include in the licensing library package and in the downloader
library package.

I have managed to get rid of the errors in the licensing library java
files, but whether it will work in real testing, I still don't know because
I am stuck with the downloader library.
I have posted a thread on stackoverflow how to implement the licensing
library. See it here in the bottom of the page under user Immy:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31433687/android-gradle-apache-httpclient-does-not-exist/34348798#34348798

I had to change a few things here and there to be able to import the
downloader package module, but I am still getting an error in the
DownloadNotification.java and given the rarity of the situation literally
there is no help and information available yet. Of course the problem is
caused by the package that hasn't been updated and is still providing an
unsupported method.

Good luck my friend. If I can get it working somehow, I will post it here.
But honestly, spending one week on an "it requires just a few lines of code
from you" and it is still not working is ridiculous.

[android-developers] Best strategy for emitting countdown tones for shutter delay like stock camera app

2015-12-20 Thread David Karr
I'm attempting to implement the conventional countdown shutter delay
strategy for a custom camcorder app, just like the stock camera app. I've
implemented the visual and functional part of the countdown, but now I have
to implement the audio part. This emits a tone every second and multiple
tones per second in the last 2-3 seconds (probably 2). There are
apparently multiple ways to do this. My initial searches found several
possibilities, but I'd like to know what people would think is the best way
to do something like this, and what the tradeoffs would be for other
options.

Re: [android-developers] Re: APK Expansion Files do not work with Android Studio

2015-12-20 Thread Russell Cecala
Thanks for responding anglomatestudio. APK expansion files still work in
my command-line ant builds and with eclipse mars as per google
documentation. I would prefer command-line ant builds for everything but I
cannot figure out how to build apps that use AdMob via command line. So I
have to resort to Eclipse to make apps that make use of APK Expansion files
and AdMob ads. If I knew how to implement AdMob via command line ... "$
android ... " I could do without Eclipse and Android Studio.

Thanks. That gets pretty close. I'm having trouble getting it to match
what my phone is using. For the directory expression, I'm currently using
this:

Environment.getExternalStoragePublicDirectory(Environment.DIRECTORY_DCIM)

However, on my phone, the actual place where it stores pictures from the
stock camera is in a "Camera" subdirectory. This expression doesn't
include that. I could hardcode that, but doesn't feel right. I tried some
variations of this, but I never found an expression that returns "Camera"
as the base directory name.

Solved by replacing platform-tools by older version.

Hi,

I desperately need a help.

we recently developed an app for a client for their B2B needs. instead of
using web services we used jtds plugin to connect directly to our remote
MSSQL server. the app works fine in debug mode as well as release mode. So
we uploaded the release version on playstore and it got published too. But
after downloading it from the google play the app fails to connect with our
mssql server.

thanks in advance

paresh

[android-developers] YouTube T violation while integrating YouTubeAPI in Android Application.

2015-12-20 Thread Purvik Rana

I did have tried to publish an App using Android API obtained from Google
Console. But the App was rejected. I tried a lot more surf and all says it
is because the video will still plays in Activity while user put Activity
to background task clicking HomeScreen button directly or returning back to
previous activity. What i did tried next, i did that also. But it still not
helping me out to release my application. what i got is,

*4.4 Prohibited Actions. You agree that you will not engage in any activity
with the Store, including the development or distribution of Products, that
interferes with, disrupts, damages or accesses in an unauthorised manner
the devices, servers, networks or other properties or services of any third
party including, but not limited to, Android users, Google or any mobile
network operator. You may not use customer information obtained from the
Store to sell or distribute Products outside of the Store.*

I found i can make use of OAuth Client ID for using YouTubeAPI for android
application. I am trying that also and i am stuck how i can use that in my
Android Application. I got the JSON array, Client ID also but what to do
with that all. I did have gone through getting tokens and other stuffs but
thats all new to me and i am not getting proper way to use it. So if anyone
out there can help me.

I need also want to know if there is another procedure to integrate or play
YouTube videos in our Android App without violating Youtube T

Re: [android-developers] Re: APK Expansion Files do not work with Android Studio

2015-12-20 Thread Anglomate Studio
Hi Russell,

It's funny, when I was reading your message I was installing Eclipse
already. I believe that Android Studio is the cause of most of my headaches.

Sorry, I cannot help you with your enquire. Good luck!

I have a GitHub repository already online, however I made a new branch for

Any help is appreciated. Thanks
