Animations are not smooth when starting before "onEnterAnimationComplete" 
is called, that's why I use this callback.

[android-developers] Android table of contents navigation style

Hi all.

I'm making an app which presents reading content to the user.

I want to implement a table of contents navigation.

I'm making my app Material Design, and would like the table of contents to 
be with that same style.


How is it best to do this? I thought of a few options:

1. Navigation Drawer.

2. Expanding Custom ListViews.

3. CardViews. 


Any other ideas?

What would look nice and be the most intuitive for the user?


If anyone has any references to a sample, examples, apps, and images, I 
would be happy. 
I'm looking for ideas.

[android-developers] Two newbie Android Studio Questions . . .

*1.* I just installed the latest version of Android Studio (2.1.1) on my
PC (Win 7) and I'm learning how to use it. One thing all the other IDE's
I've used (e.g., Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc) have is a window that lists
the compiler errors and warnings and you can click on the items and it
takes you to them in the source editor. The only place I've found in
Android Studio that shows errors and warnings is the Gradle Console but
warnings and errors are embedded in lots of other Gradle output and you
can't click on them to be taken to the source code in an editor. Does
Android Studio have a compiler output panel that links to the source?

*2.* Does Android Studio have a GUI for setting the things that go in
*.gradle* files or does everything have to be done by hand-editing? If the
latter, does Android Studio have a *gradle*-aware source editor that can
flag syntax errors, etc?

Hi All,
having installed android studio, i am series of error message- missing 
files not installed. my internet been so slow i decided to download 
directly using Download accelerator manager, which i downloaded 
successfully. 
now i am face with the problem of where to transfer this folder. in the 
screenshot the SDK Path indicated is:
Users\GOAL\android-sdk-windows. this i have done and clicked on *Try again *as 
shown in the screen shot, the same error message is displayed. the 
downloaded file is .zip format, so i unzipped it and created a folder 
called *m2repository.*
So my question is: *Where exactly do i have to copy and paste this folder 
(m2repository).* Please can anyone help me. i have attached the screen shot 
for better understanding.

[android-developers] Hello, I need an advice regarding my game publishing on Google Play.

Hello.

I'm new to the Google Play development and don't know all the details
regarding publishing on Google Play. I'm creating my game alone, and have
to go through all the procedures by myself to learn how it works in
practice.

I created a standard Google Play Developer account some time ago, but
didn't create the merchant account yet. I'm still developing my game, and
thinking about publishing its demo version soon. The problem is that I
don't know where to find any info regarding the matter, so a have some
questions. The final version of the game will be paid (but without any
in-app purchases or ads), but demo, obviously, will be free. So, my
questions are:

(1) Is it acceptable to publish free demo version the game when the full
version is not ready yet?
(2) Can I publish the free demo version without creating the merchant
account, then finalize the game, create merchant account, and publish the
full version?
(3) What % of full game's content must the free demo have to be approved?
(4) How exactly Google approves submitted apps?

Any direction on where can I find the answers, or actual answers are
welcome.

[android-developers] Android multiple Bluetooth connection.

Hi ,

I am currently working on a use case where in I have to connect with 
multiple Bluetooth devices concurrently and send and receive the data.

The use case says, whenever the app  launches , the app should connect with 
the available bluetooth devices and gets the data from the available droid 
devices.

However the examples which  have found is only for the device to device 
client server connection.
On android site and forums also I have found solution for the chatting app 
, which is onde 1-1 connection.
But for my use case i have to have multiple connections concurrently, so as 
my device can talk directly with all the available Bluetooth devices 
concurrently.

I would really appreciate any suggestions or a working code snippet.

The example of a library that I found 
is https://github.com/arissa34/Android-Bluetooth-Library
but thats also not of much help, as i need to initiate connections and data 
sendeing and receiving from master(server) app.

I'm making an App for Android 6.0 and I want to use the new class 
NetworkStatsManager for getting mobile data usage.

I added all permission I need in manifest and require the permission 
runtime.

When I call the method:

bucket = 
networkStatsManager.querySummaryForDevice(ConnectivityManager.TYPE_WIFI, "", 
fromDate.getTime(), toDate.getTime());

return the right value for WIFI usage.

But if i replace TYPE_WIFI with TYPE_MOBILE the result is always 0.

Excuse me, i am getting this error msg when building Gradle (i dont even 
know what that is)

Hello all.

While im following every youtube tutorial how to set up android studio i 
still encounter the same problem over and over again.

Everyone who installed Android Studio instantly see's the built in ui 
designer. (when they started a new project)

Now the problem is, i dont see this designer. And i cannot figure out why 
im not seeing it. is it becuase of the HAXM acceleration which im not able 
to do with my laptop?

[android-developers] How to view uninstall statistics of earlier days in developer console?

Hi

I want to know the devices from which my app is being uninstalled. 
Developer Console displays list of devices only for the previous day in the 
Daily Uninstall page. Any idea how to get this info for earlier days (other 
than reports which are very tedious to read)?

I have a HTC DESIRE EYE india unlocked version. I notices a huge thumbnails 
cache in my internal sd card . I delete the folder but it reappears tries 
.nomedia file method but that does not free up space . Any one can help me 
with this one. I am not rooted ...

Use MediaCodec.dequeueOutputBuffer and MediaCodec.releaseOutputBuffer
