[android-developers] eclipse issue

2010-03-29 Thread Greg Donald
Is it normal for my Eclipse to totally freak out when I plug more than
one phone in at a time?

Either my Hero or my Droid work fine solo, but if I try both at the
same time they both become unrecognised and I have to then restart
Eclipse (2 minutes of waiting) before I can go back to using just one
phone. Kinda sucks having to unplug and re-plug phones all the time.
I have 8 USB ports and no specific combination I can find seems to
help.

Plugging in more than one phone also crashes my DDMS.

Anyone know a solution?

Thanks,

On linux fc10(?), it seems to work ok. It pops up a disambiguator menu.

Maybe try disabling the auto-pick mode so that it always pops that menu
up to choose?

I have auto-pick mode disabled already. The menu is what is freaking
out. It blinks widely and crashes.

Wildly even.

You might be more specific about what platform and version of the tool
chain you have.
I think I'm one version behind (eg around 2.0) on linux and haven't seen
this.

Re: [android-developers] eclipse issue

2010-03-29 Thread Xavier Ducrohet
Hi,

this should not happen. I regularly have 2+ phones connected with
emulator(s) running as well and DDMS handles it no problem.

Could you:
- make sure Eclipse is NOT running
- launch the standalone version of DDMS from a terminal
- plug 2+ devices
- grab the error output from the terminal and send it to me.

thanks
Xav
