[Arches] Creating Installation Wizard [GSoC '14 Project] Idea Discussion Thread!!
I saw this idea mentioned in the previous year's idea list, but no one picked it up. So I was wondering if people still want to get this done. I am interested in the project as I have used a setup scripting language called NSIS to create an installation wizard for a school project once, so I know how installation wizards work. For Windows, NSIS provides a pretty decent interface and being opensource I don't think we should look for anything else but for linux I think people would much rather prefer their own package manager rather than a custom setup wizard. So would a wizard make sense for Linux users? A better option might be just a straightforward installation script. --- 2014 Ideas: http://archesproject.org/ideas/ --- NSIS: http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Main_Page Chaitanya Gupta -- -- To post, send email to archesproject@googlegroups.com. [Arches] GSoC 2015
Hi, Although probably It's very early to ask about GSOC 2015 but I would like to start analyzing to prepare myself for choosing a correct project and submitting a good proposal for that to get selected. It would be great if someone could throw some light on GSoC 2015 as far as arches is concerned, also some useful tips could come in handy. I haven't found any GSOC 2015 project ideas pages yet,but got the older idea page of year 2014 but it didn't mention which ideas have been already implemented and which ones are still unimplemented, so can anyone help me out with that..?? Thanks Chaitanya -- -- To post, send email to archesproject@googlegroups.com. To unsubscribe, send email to archesproject+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. [Arches] Re: Signing in
I really liked Konark Sun Temple located in Odisha,India when i first saw it, and also enjoyed my visits to Ajanta Ellora Caves in Maharashtra,India. However i have not been to many archaeological sites in person though i have read a lot about them,as they were an integral part of the indian textbooks during school days. -- -- To post, send email to archesproject@googlegroups.com.
