[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Moving attached accession records

2022-04-27 Thread Lori Dedeyan
Hi all,

Is anyone aware of a simple way to move attached accession records from one
resource to another, in bulk? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
Lori

Re: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] Java version

2022-04-27 Thread Steele, Henry
We are currently using Java 1.8.0 aka Java 8. This branch of Java, OpenJDK in
our case, is also currently being updated. Oracle will have documentation
about this particular branch.

Hope this helps

Subject: [Archivesspace_Users_Group] Java version

Hi,

My IT department is in the process of setting up ArchivesSpace for me, but
we've run into a snag regarding Java. The install instructions say we need Java
11, but the older versions aren't being updated/patched so the security person
won't let us use it. The most current version of Java 11 looks to be available
through subscription, and I will subscribe if I need to, but now there is a
concern that, because the subscription version is labeled as Jave SE 11, it
isn't the correct version. With that background I have two questions:

  1. Is there a version of Java that is receiving updates that doesn't require
a subscription that I can use?
  2. Could someone confirm that the SE version does work?

Thanks,

~Heidi

[Archivesspace_Users_Group] Apply now for the second cohort of the ArchivesSpace Member Match program [deadline extended to May 20]

2022-04-27 Thread Jessica Crouch
Dear ArchivesSpace Users,

The deadline to apply to participate in the ArchivesSpace Member Match program
has been extended to Friday, May 20th.

The Member Match program is an initiative to engage the ArchivesSpace
membership community, created and organized by the Member Engagement sub-team
of the ArchivesSpace User Advisory Council, with support from the ArchivesSpace
Community Engagement Coordinator. The program is intended to be a resource and
venue for peer-to-peer support between ArchivesSpace members. For one,
year-long term, participants will be matched with a member with whom they can
receive and offer professional insight, advice, and camaraderie. The program
will also offer participants the opportunity to engage in exclusive events and
enlightening discussions about ArchivesSpace and its active user community.

Thanks to valuable feedback from the first cohort of Member Match Participants,
we’ve implemented the following updates to the program:

  *   Monthly Listserv Discussion Topics
 * Each month, a member of the Member Engagement sub-team will reach out
to the Member Match listserv to spur discussion and encourage continued
engagement between matches.
  *   Quarterly Member Match Meet-Ups
 * These will be opportunities for large group socializing as well as the
potential for dedicated time to spend with matches in breakout rooms.
  * Option to participate in small group matches of 3 people
Eligibility
Any individual affiliated with an ArchivesSpace member organization is eligible
to participate in the ArchivesSpace Member Match program and there is no limit
to the number of individuals from a member organization that may participate.

If you are unsure of your organization’s ArchivesSpace membership status, visit
https://archivesspace.org/community/whos-using-archivesspace or email

[Archivesspace_Users_Group] PUI Ordering and Sorting Issue

2022-04-27 Thread 松山 ひとみ
Hello all,

We’ve been stuck in the “ordering and sorting” issue in
[~/repositories/resources]. Our AS is version 3.0.1.
Presumably, because we use Japanese Character, our resource list cannot be
displayed in a right, alphabetical order when sorted by Title.

Could we add Identifier to the category of sorting;
Relevance/Title(Asc/Desc)/Year(Asc/Desc), as alternative?
We’d very much appreciate you helping solve our issue!
