hi friends, i guess the group can be divided into sections:- at the time of release of RAHMAN'S new album :- 1. the bigger who start hurling allegations on RAHMAN , i guess after listening to his music, which is more often downloaded (read PIRATED),.. maybe listening to it not even once patientlyclaim:- The old man has copied the music. The man has lost his touch. Nothing new. THANK you ,, i believe you all,I even believe your ancestors maybe TANSEN.fullstop. 2. now this sect i may call them the SUNNY DEOLS of our group..feeling heroic after defending our GODbut really does he need this,? please stop reacting to the nonsensical stuff some people...and the more nonsensical stuff they write(read some GLAMSHAM reviewers)..,,,who had the musical knowledge of saying JODHA AKBAR music was a mistake!!! i had said sometime back.and i repeat,,,i don't think so anyone on this earth has the capabailty osf reviewing RAHMAN's Musici mean it can be done on a personal level,,,but not generallising what one feels about HIS songs usaully i refrain from reading HIS song's reviews..!! for me ,.,,,i love this group for the knowledge it gives me about rahman's music,,i mean the lyricsits translation.like say zikr,,some of his tamil songsit does help in appreciating his songs more!!! THANKS to this group that i came across the song MUNBE VAA.pure GEM.or else,,, a non tamillian like me,,,would never have got the chance to observe this song!!! about his new album. i haven't yet come out of the trance of LAMHON ke daman,,,JASHN bahaara completely. i bought ADA ,,, and listened to MEHERBAAN about say 150 timesits on my ipod, PC, MOBILE.can't move to another songthough did hear to GUMSUM.but not yet eager to listen to other songs.MEHERBAAN INSTRUMENTAL doesn's let me do it :-)!!! no offence intended.. ciao!

just saw a news clip, taken when Rahman went to a nokia function for talent hunt i guess, a news reporter asked him to sing Khwaja mere Khwaja, next we see the man Taking of his shoes quietly and singing the song. i got goosebumps, take my bow Rahman sir, Ankit.

though usaully i refrain from reading reviews of any ARR album.especially just a few days after his album has releasedmainly b'cos of these reasons:- 1. i firmly believe no one has the required knowledge of music to describe his songs in words leave alone reviewing HIS SONGS as good or bad 2. writing a music review of ARR album,,just a day after its released.take that..MY REVIEW FOR THEIR REVIEWS are ARR's work is not a HIMESH yaarwhere you have to only describe the song whether its peppy or not.! Any ARR fan will tell that his music is like WINEit takes quite a bit of hearing to let his MAGIC work 3. actually his music starts working on you like black magic.,,,after seeing a well picturised song of his ( personally SAAWARIYA and DEKHO nathese songs were gems which i discovered after seeing its video on screen,,,the emotions the songs wanted to createcould be felt only after knowing the situation,the feelings the director and ARR wanted to emote thr' the songhad i written a review before that,,,would it be what actually i felt of the song...?? ) i firmly one cannot review his songsbut yeh MAYBE DESCRIBE WHAT HE GOES THROUGH when he listens to the masters work!!! personallyif one had asked me to about KHALBALI a few days backi would have said,,a wierd arabic kinda song.but now after getting a lil bit of the kick of the song i would say its a hell of a song,,,which a master could only createthe song so beautifully tries to capture the emotion which one goes thr' :- while say attending a rock concert... or maybe doing a work ,,,in which his heart and soul is there, maybe the song tries to explore the feeling of a excited and passion heart, the feeling one getswhen he is genuinely excited for something,,,KHALBALI,!!! right now,JODHA AKBAR:- i am not able to come out of the loop of KHWAJA ,,,leave alone listening to other songs...KHWAJA ..the song,,,has actually left me numb,,,at this stage when i can't understand most of its lyrics,,nor do i know much about the history of the sufi saintson whose praise the song has been composed patience is a virtue and one needs loads of them to write a review of HIS songs!!!

hi , first of all thank you very much ,AMITH, the interview was a must read and wouldn't have been possible without a translation..it just epitomises the humbleness and the greatness of ARR. okay coming to a topic, i would like to discuss out here is about MITHOON...!! first of all, i am not trying to compare him with ARR, but i guess he does show a potential which should be noticed and strikes a similarity with ARR. 1. with songs like 'BAS EK PAL' and 'TERE BIN' , and i guess the one which striked me the most MAULA MERE MAULA...a divine love song, composed by him and that too at a age of 22 speaks a lot...!! thats the most striking part,,, to a compose a song with such depth and divinity or rather pristinity at a age of 22 is certainly striking. 2. his first full album 'THE TRAIN' is a runaway success musically songs like THE TRAIN...shows his background arrangement cappability immensely. his sung songs 'MAUSAM' and 'woh ajnabee' , is striking. 3. just google his name and read the few interviews he has given , just shows the maturity of the guy./(he says he will never lift a tune, music should come from within, 'ARR is his fav.') 4. also DOORIE album ATIFis composed by himjust superb. 5. his forthcoming venture a album with Abhijeet sawant,'AGAR(aug 2007)' and also he has composed 5 songs for a malay film DIVAjust hearing the soundtrack of this film on a search at YOUTUBE it was really refreshin,compelling me too put him right up with ARR , VISHAL BHARADWAJ...!! with such quality work already backing himhe really has a lot of potential.at the age of 22way to go though.quite inspirational for a 22 jughead like me..!!! ankit.

hi, saw the film rang de basanti i think the director has used the songs very wellbut one thing is for sure that most of the songs were more used like a background score.and was really disapointed for the fact that pathshala , lukka chhupi,roobaro was not played fully,, though it was heartening to see the crowd getting rocked with pathshala being played and also humming the song ROOBARO along... i think the SALES OF rang de basanti will surely rise after the release of the movie as is the case generally... and another question to be asked is WHETHER RAHMAN must be happy with the space given to these superb songs in the movie... yeh.i certainly agree with youthis song naam ada likna certainly sounded RAHMAANISH..but without taking away any credit from the music director of this song SHANTANU MOITRA.i think the lyrics written by gulzar saab also lends a more rahmaanish feel to the song..even the other songs in this album is quite good,though i certainly feel that this guy MOITRA has a good talent,,,even evident from his previous venture PARINEETAANKIT, Yahoo! HI, was out of contact with the group. for quite a long time..after reading the backlog of th emailsi really felt amused for the reviews written for THE RISING... well,being fans of the BOSS music we all know that his compositions works on us like slow poison,,,the more you hear it the more it enchants you..and after the music gets you...it not only mesmerizes us but also touches our souls...this is the essence of HIS music... but was really surprised to read reviews just after quite a few days of MANGAL PANDEY.some even calling it sub-standard and crapGOD help them. well my suggestion to the moderator is to block all the reviews of the BOSS'S compositions so early...i mean whether it is degrading HIS music or whether the reviewer has used all the best possible adjectives praising him.. ON A personal front i would just like to add that a freind of mine from south passed me the cd's of the music of RAHMAAN'S tamil compositions.and i am at present really mad after this album of his where there are songs like CINDRELLA CINDRELLA, ;;;ANARKALI,,,WELL i don't know what the album's name is but the songs in this album are par excellence.. this rather shows the power of his musicthat a typical hindi speaking guy gets hooked to songs having an alien lang. even though he does not understand a single worldmaybe i would be really obliged if you all could help me knowing these songs better(like the situation for which the songs were made,the theme,the lyrics,etc of th song)//.ANKIT. first of all hats off to the people behind these whole process..even i believe that there should a quote given by the BOSSrather than the singer/composer tag.also i would prefer i am a rahmaniac printed on the back side... i think that the shirt should show the class that RAHMAAN has made for himself.though i am quite satisfied with the way bharath,shiva sirs are working to achieve it.. WELL its really cool of RAHMAN...i read the interview of the director of the film atul agnihotrihe says that he went to RAHMAN for offering him to compose the music for his film(RAHMAN was doing hs prayers while he was waiting for him). RAHMAN agreed to it saying that he got some insight from god that he should compose the music for his film and took the assignment. the coolest thing is that he did not charge a single penny for the film THREE SONGS IN THIS FILM ARE COMPOSED BY RAHMAN 1. DIL NE JISE APNA KAHA..-TITLE SONG. 2. ZINDAGI HAI DUA 3. JANE BAHAR I THINK THE THIRD SONG JANE BAHAR SUNG BY KAMAAL KHAN AND SADHNA SARGAM IS REALLY A VERY REFRESHING SONG WITH A LOT OF VARIATIONS IN IT-THE STAMP OF RAHMAN... also the song zindagi hai dua - is equally good and the chorus of the sung by i think sreenivas is really good the title song has a typical rahman sound in it..it is a really soothing song i think it will be really tough to choose the pic of the songs..
