Re: BMC Remedy Attachments

2015-03-11 Thread Allan See
Hi Ben

would Meta-Update work on moving the attachment from Remedy to another Oracle
DB?

I asked this cause we are moving out of Remedy, but we need to have the data
migrated.
Would this be a good way to use Meta-Update? if not, do you have different
option I can use?

Anyway I sent an email to the Meta-Update support for me to download it. Just
waiting on the response from their end.

Thanks

Hi Ben,

Can you elaborate more on how I can extract the attachments and transfer it to
another database without using workflows?

TIA

Hi Mark,

from your message this is through Java.

Would you happen to know if this would work over a DB Link where we transfer
the Blob file using it?

Because from my experience it gets corrupted when the blob is transferred.

BMC Remedy Attachments

2015-03-04 Thread Allan See
Hi,

I need help in understanding what Remedy uses as compression for File
Attachments when inserting it to our B tables.

Also does anyone know how we can migrate attachments to another table over a DB
link.
I have recently tried to do this but files that are migrated gets corrupted.

thank you,
TIA

ARERR [342]

2014-01-13 Thread Allan See
Hi,

Does anyone know how to fix this error ARERR [342]?

We encountered this on an open window active link.

Open window settings:
Window Type: Report
Target Location: New

Report Type: AR System
Report Location: Report Form
Report Name: MainJobDesc_Web

This is triggered using a button click.

But this happens
ARERR [342] Message not in catalog; Message number = 342
/opt/ar/arsys701/reports/m11c23c11b16/STHvSzM63yhxz3ZDnJQ9B5WmFy2glNxh34GYSHLQGHgT7p2GQDNv1162461961389594479813/MainJobDesc5fWeb.arr

Also this was already used years before but this error only occurred recently.
There are also instances that it works once then fails again on the next try.

Re: Real Number Format Issue

2012-11-08 Thread Allan See
Thanks for your inputs.

Im testing to use a character field and filter it first and pass it to a real
number field to limit the decimal places. Hopefully this will be a better
approach for this problem.

Re: Real Number Format Issue

2012-11-06 Thread Allan See
Thank you for all the reply,

@Misi - The real field in trying to filter now was previously a char field, but
user came to a conclusion to change the field to a real number field.

i might go with one of your options the on gain focus for the real field,
but users can have multiple entry on this said field so im having second
thoughts on using that option.

@David - there has been a couple of instances that users input special
characters accidentally, and these values do not get filtered causing process
to stop. i dont believe it is a process of export from databases.

Real Number Format Issue

2012-11-05 Thread Allan See
Hi,

I am trying to remove special character($,%,, etc.) on a real number field.
So what happens is that when i input a value all characters after the special
character are turned to 0

here is an example:
 123.25 -- 123.200

what i wanted was the the '' sign be removed but not replace the 5 with a 0.
 123.25 -- 123.205

is there a way we can filter this out for the real number field? or do you have
any alternative to filter this?

Thanks,
Allan
