Thanx, Krishna, I will. But maybe some one in this community already implemented what I try to do? Sombody? Anybody? My issue is that excel export in BIRT2.5 do not export graphics in report correctly - pictures do not placed to right position in resulting file. I tried many different, maybe all, free excel emitters, but the only way to do such an export was to use up to date version of BIRT to create a report. Now, I need to run it from Remedy, but I can't... External BIRT Viewer
Hi. I need to run Remedy WEB reports and custom reports made in BIRT Designer with arsys.oda driver datasources. Right now I can create and run reports directly in BIRT 4.5 Designer. But I need to run them in BIRT Viewer, which is coming with BIRT Runtime package (WebViewerExample). Now, when I try to run report in viewer Im getting error in viewer logs: "Unable to load or instantiate the custom ODA driver class. (com.bmc.arsys.oda.runtime.impl.ARDriver)" But I put all three jar files from midtier to WEB-INF\lib direcroty of viewer, and this is the only jar files that were needed by BIRT Designer to create and run reports with remedy datasource: \ com.bmc.arsys.oda.designtime_8.1.0.build001.jar com.bmc.arsys.oda.runtime_8.1.0.build001.jar com.bmc.arsys.studio.api_8.1.0.build001.jar Maybe I need to put there something else? Close button on Incident form in ITSM 8.x
Hi, all! Just a simple question - has anyone had an experience on adding kind of Close button to, lets say, Incidents form in ITSM 8.x? Things gets more complicated with SHR:LandingConsole and inline forms in it... Maybe someone can recall kind of event to be sent to Landing Console, something like "CLOSE_CURRENT_VIEW_AND_SWITCH_TO_PREVIOUS_VIEW", nah? Atrium Integrator - change username in AR connection
Hello everyone! All the wallowings is about 8.0 version of products - ARS, ITSM and Atriujm Integrator. So, my problem is: I had _working_ custom, self-made transformation in Spoon, which contains ARInput step to update data in Remedy. ARInput step was based on AR connection with Demo user used. I tried to change username to something more usable, like Integrator. So I created new user in User form (no CTM:People record), updated records in UDM:RAppPassword form with the password of this newly created user and updated ARInput step with new user name, BUT!... When I try to test this updated AR connection with new username or just run this transformation in Spoon I get an error: Error connecting to database [ARS_servername_35000_Integrator] : org.pentaho.di.core.exception.KettleDatabaseException: Error occured while trying to connect to the database ERROR (623): Authentication failed; Can anybody tell me - what else should I do or update to change username in AR connetion in Spoon? ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org "Where the Answers Are, and have been for 20 years"
ITSM 7.0 Suite patch 005
Hello, listers. At last! The last patch of ITSM suite has a russian localized forms definitions and data dictionaries! But ... Because earlier there was no russian localization, all applications in my installation are english only, and update installer do patches only for english views. You may not need the alias lines, but you certainly need the Plugin-Port. Exactly ... I found this option by myself and open firewall for this certain port. Now everything is fine, thank you for your attantion. RPC: Unable to receive
Hello listers. ARERR [8760] Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System Plug-In server : bmcstage : RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Unable to receive This is what I got in RUT when I move my ARS server behind the firewall, uncheck "Register with portmapper", assign static TCP port and shutdown remedy portmapper service. And restart my windows box of course - a shut in a head 8). This error appears only in Problem Management Console on window open. Other consoles - incident, asset, cmdb - appear without any errors. No errors in arerror, armonitor, arplugin logs and no errors on client side logs too. When I change environment back (no firewall restrictions at all) and move to portmapper - everything is fine again. Why (and which?) plugin try to register himself in portmapper? Patrick, what do you mean, when you say of CR issue: actually I had one too, and this issue is ARS ODBC Driver issue - ODBC driver 7.0.1p1,2,3 CUTS first cyrillic (maybe not only cyrillic, hwo knows?) character on character fields with length(0) (they represented as MEMO in Crystal Report designer). Once I had alike situation ... the problem was in HUGE message in incoming mailbox on server, and email engine refused to fetch it and become very glitchy ... We removed that huge message from mail server and everything set stabilized. Thanks Mike - this works for the user clients, but how does this work for mid-tier? For midtier you have to change the same styles the same way in resource\standard\stylesheets\arsystem.css Is there another way to change this globally that would include users and web views? Hello. You hould change CSS file arsystem.css to customize appearance of horizontal and vertical navbars. Sadly, as I can see, you should deploy comstomized arsystem.css file to all clients with RUT so they can see "new appearance". Am I wrong? BMC Configuration Management and Network equipment
Hello, listers!
Actually my question is not about ARS, but BMC Config.Man. (formerly Marimba).
Can anybody tell me, can this suite deal with network equipment, like Cisco
routers\switches and SAN devices, like Symmetrix? All I can see from manuals, that agents
("tuners" in marimba terms) can be deployed to *nix and windows machines, but
no any word of network devices. Any suggestions?
Can anybody share information of using BMC Config.Man. to inventory ALL
infrastructure, not only desktops\PCs and servers, but network equipment and
storages too?

Mike, if you have to deal with system forms, there is one rule of thumb - do NOT modify system workflow, just ADD your own (better with a custom prefix in names, to separate from systems). Everything should be fine then. I jave a very complex email parsing and routing workflow based on AR System Email Messages form, and all upgrades or patches to email engine passed fine for now. Dmitry, all you have to do is set appropriate locale in UNIX. Ask you nearest *nix guru how to do this :) But i'd like to extend this question - actually I realy use locale to set apropriate date\time format for OUTPUT (i.e. date\time stamps in diary fields and right formatting of date\time values so strings in filters). BUT! But I still cant tell ars server to READ date values in locale format - I still have to use C-format dates in Business Time Holidays form for Business-Time functions to work properly. Any ideas on this? You have to check that your mssql2005express has sql authentication turned on. By default only windows authentication is turned on. I run batch of ars servers on mssql2005express, flight is high! :) Tried using SQL server 2005 express edn (free) on my laptop with ARS 7. The installation was failing. I did it using "push fields" action and got this "refresh" issue. Bad design :) Now I am trying to use "Open Window" On-Close field mapping. It doesn't work yet. Now I'm going to take a look into the AL.log in order to find out if this AL(which open display-only window) is executed on closing or not. You have to know, that OnOpen and OnClose options are NOT logged. What action should AL perform on receiving an event in order to refresh the active request? You have to refresh a table field on parent form, or refresh datafields in regular form? You have to send EVENT from child form and handle it in parent. Take a look at PERFORM-ACTION-SEND-EVENT RunProcess command. I use an additional display-only form to set some values into the parent regular. After changes are commited and a user closes the display-only form I need to refresh the parent form in order to display the new values without pressing F5 button.
