Re: Frequent Session is invalid or timed out- ARERR (9201) issues to Users.

Hi Madhu - I agree with problem identified by Load balancer team. Users
would get session disconnect errors when using sticky bit if that specific
mid-tier goes down. This happens to mid-tier version before 9.0

I would suggest to check with BMC on this part.

Thanks,

Yes, on web facing load balancer , sticky bit should be enable. On ARS
facing load balancer sticky bit should be disable.

Frequent Session is invalid or timed out- ARERR (9201) issues to Users.

2016-01-31 Thread Madhu V
Hi,

Users are facing frequent session timeout issues i.e ARERR (9201) - Session is
invalid or timed out in our Remedy Application. The issue is randomly occurring
across all the geographies of our Organization.

Few Details:

Midtier Version : 8.1.SP02 Patch 001 201511101452 Hotfix

Can someone please suggest, whether the currently set configurations at Load
balancer end are fine ?

Do we need to recommend anything to Load Balancer team?

Please help.

I would take a look at the Timeout settings on the F5(s) in front of the
web servers. The values should match the connection timeout values in the
mid tier configuration. Remember, the F5 stores these values in seconds,
not minutes; so you'll need to adjust accordingly.

2016-01-31 Thread Madhu V
Hi Rob,

Currently the Web facing Load Balancer is not having any session time out set
and it is having persistence of type Cookie based. We are aware that if the
Load Balancer has set any time out value it will be in seconds and should have
greater value than the value set at Mid-Tier config page which is currently set
as 20 minutes.

Could you please tell us, whether do we need to set any sticky session value at
this Web facing Load Balancer ?
