Re: [EXTERNAL] Web Reports not working

2013-03-11 Thread Stroud, Natalie K
I've not seen the issue specifically, but Mark's question does remind me of one
of my own. BIRT is now up to v. 4.2.2. According to BMC's White Paper on how
to make BIRT work with ITSM, BIRT v 2.5.1 should be used. I couldn't find
2.5.1 but was able to make 2.5.2 work. BIRT v. 4.2.2 didn't work at all. I've
not had the time to play with any other updates between 2.5.2 and 4.2.2 to see
if any of them work.

Does anyone know if BMC has any kind of plan to issue updates so that later
versions of BIRT can be used with ITSM? One of these days, I'm sure Eclipse
will add a really valuable feature to BIRT that it would be nice to be able to
take advantage of.

Thanks,

Hi All,

Last week we applied the 7.6.04 SP3 201301041509 Hotfix to the mid-tier and now
web reports don't work. When running a report and downloading to Excel, the
actual file contains a bunch of error that start with a
org.eclipse.birt.report.service. If I run report to the screen that works fine
unless the report is list + chart I get on the screen: Chart adhoc_chart:
+ CREATE_EXTENSION_FAIL

Mid-tier is on Linux 5 and not using a crystal server. Doesn't matter if I am
using IE8 or Firefox. Nothing unusual about this hot fix. Stop, back up and
replace files and start. Anyone run into this?

Thanks
Mark

2013-03-11 Thread Easter, David
While there are no specific plans to update the internal technology used for
web reporting at this time, if it is found that a new capability within web
reports that is of value to AR System customers requires such an upgrade, it
would be considered.

Note that it is not that 2.5.1 should be used - it is the only version of the
BIRT editor that is currently supported in modifying web reports. It can be
downloaded here:

http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/birt/downloads/drops/R-R1-2_5_1-200909220630/birt-rcp-report-designer-2_5_1.zip

This URL is referred to in the white paper on page 6, by the way.
