Hi Kali, Are you talking about forms of type View? I recall creating system field equivalents on view forms in the past but it does appear that dev studio doesn't support that. For regular/join/display only forms you would never have been able to create system fields in the past. Hi Kali, Correct. There are a whole lot of field IDs reserved for all the different kinds of system fields. If you have a field on a regular form that has an ID that doesn't match those of the reserved system fields you won't be able to change it. These days you can change attributes and behaviours though so that to a user it would look like a system field. Not sure what you're trying to do though. I do not believe that was ever a feature. If a field has an Entry-Mode of System it cannot be changed. You can change a a non System field from Required to Optional and vice-versa. Kali, System has never to my knowledge been available in the drop down..but is a valid value. The value of 'System' is in use for 'core' fields..you should have NEVER been able to choose it, and if you could, it was a bug in the Admin tool..values for that field are System/Display Only/Required/Optional. Kali, I second LJ's opinion. Been working with the AR System in the capacity of a developer and consultant more than a decade and never knew System to be a choice to choose from. It is hard-coded only with core fields as LJ pointed out.. The only selectable values at the time of creating a field is Display Only, Required and Optional. Then depending on what you choose from there, when modifying that choice gets reduced.. For eg if you choose Display Only at the time of creating the field and save the form, then this value cannot be changed without deleting the field and recreating it. However if you choose either Required or Optional, you can toggle between the two values on modifying the field after creation, but Display Only cannot be selected, unless you delete and recreate it..
