Gary,

My client needs a team of 4 remedy developer but the only concern would be
that of the years of experience. I have been on the search for a few days.
They need someone between 3-5 years with pay rate of about $50 ph. Not sure
if this helps

Thanks,

Leah

Hello Listers,

Do you know of a Remedy project that can use a super-strong Remedy

Developer? We have a great referral incentive program that pays $1,000 for

a referral resulting in a long-term (6 mo.+) contract.

You will look good because he is a really good team player with over 8

years of Remedy experience. He has a great track record and rock-solid

references.

Also with training and experience with ITSM, CMDB, Oracle, Unix, Java and C.

Please feel free to contact me for more info.

Thanks!

Is it because of the Credit Cruch that people think rates can go down?
Of course I don't know any specific details about this engagement but
in my opinion 50 dollars / hour for somebody with 3-5 years of
experience is just too low...

Re: Remedy resource available Jan. - Referral Incentive!

2008-12-18 Thread Pierson, Shawn
That depends on what type of work is required. If they want a junior resource
for data entry or something like that, then it could be ok.

Also keep in mind that some recruiting firms are getting their job requirements
from other firms, who are getting it from other firms, and so on. This is how
you get a client paying $200/hour or more and expecting a decent Remedy
developer, while the developer gets paid $50/hour and doesn't even know the
difference between an Active Link and Filter, and thinks ITIL is what they do
before planting a garden.

For the person with the job requirement that started this conversation, my
suggestion would be not to ask for four people at a mediocre rate, but rather
to combine the positions, perhaps bringing in two people, paying one person
$115/hour and the other $85/hour. That can still be lower than what I've seen,
but you can get much better quality folks that way.

Re: Remedy resource available Jan. - Referral Incentive!

2008-12-18 Thread VanSickle, James W
It depends on whether the position is permanent or contract and what
benefits come with it, which are not clear from the previous email. If
this is strictly a 6-month contract job with no perm conversion or
benefits, I agree that the rate is a bit low. If this is a perm
position with full medical, dental, 401k, and all other standard perks,
then the rate is fairly decent.

We also don't know location. $50 per hour can go a long way in
Timbuktu, Wisconsin, but might leave you strapped for cash in Manhattan,
Washington D.C., or San Francisco.

Good hunting,

You know, you all are right from your stand point. How I see it is, A client
knows what it wants the best. I would suggest the same thing you said, but
they are the final decision makers.

My only point is that if every client started hiring highly experienced
candidates what about the ones that have just started their career. I
constantly used to hear this from my candidates.

I know why you are all saying what you are but unfortunately the fact is
that the economy is facing something really serious and I as a recruiter
have seen it affect all areas of technology. I definitely hope it gets
better soon. Funny thing is that, companies are still hiring but the price
they are willing to pay has take downward swing for known reasons!

I live in corporate America. lets make that healthcare in corporate
America. Meaning I am a W2 employee with full benefits, vacation time,
sick time, the works. The rates that are being quoted are not bad if
you are a real employee and not a consultant who has to pay for all of
those things.

With the way the economy is going... be thankful for what you have!
