Re: Stuck at Executing SQLs in 8.1 Stack Installer

2014-10-17 Thread Aedrian Escultura
Hi Vivek,

Thanks for your response.

I have checked with our DBAs and have confirmed that the parameters have
been set as per BMC recommendation.

Tried setting use_zero_copy_io=false but it did not solve the problem as
well.

I tried going into silent install mode and got this error:

(Oct 17 2014 10:48:02.271 AM
-0500),SEVERE,com.bmc.install.product.bsm.arsuitekit.tasks.ARServerOracl
eManageDatabaseTask,

LOG EVENT {Description=[Error while exporting the
tablespace],Detail=[Failed to import the tablespace[Exception running
command: Cannot run program "\bin\imp" (in directory
"C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Local\Temp\Utilities\rik"): CreateProcess
error=3, The system cannot find the path specified

]]}

I have set ORACLE_HOME to D:\Oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1\bin (also
tried D:\Oracle\product\11.2.0\client_1) but both didn't work. PATH
also contains the path to the oracle client's bin directory as well so
not sure why it's not able see imp.exe in there.

Regards,

Aedrian

Hi Aedrian,

   Can you please refer
https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/public/itsm81/Configuring+Oracle+datab
ases

And
https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/public/itsm81/Installing+the+BMC+Remed
y+ITSM+Suite+Preconfigured+Stack

In your case we would recommend you to review Oracle Configuration as
provided by BMC. Let us know the results.

NOTE :

#For 8.1 ITSM and Oracle 11g we observed installer hanging once. #ORACLE
Bug ID is: 13017584

The workaround for hang issue is to make use of Special Oracle
parameters for "_use_zero_copy_io=false".

Define this parameter in init.ora file for the instance and restart DB.
(You can find this file under \database directory. Generally
this file is named as "init.ora".)

Thanks,
  Vivek

Hi ARSList,

Has anyone ever encountered an issue running the 8.1 stack installer -
particularly at the Execute SQLs part? (Screenshot attached)

I can see that it was able to create only the ACTLINK table, nothing
after that. DB sessions are all inactive.

Even the C:\Users\myuser\AppData\Local\Temp\ARSystemDBImport.log does
not contain anything.

Appreciate any help you can provide.

Oracle 11g R2

Thanks,

Aedrian
