RE: [art] Request for templates for OOoCon presentations

2009-09-15 Thread ajthornton
I have put an attempt together for the template. I will put it on the art
wiki page soon.

Thanks for the request - I think, there are several artists here able to
create a high quality Impress template that not only contains the OOoCon
logo, but use the graphical elements of OOo3 too. This would help us to
create a visual identity for OOo3 - one of our mail tasks even if we haven't
been able to work on that topic actively during the last months...

I'd like to add
* templates should be able to be presented in more or less bright rooms
(IIRC the rooms are not darkened very much for OOoCon presentation), so a
light background would be recommended.

That's the OOoCon logo, might be added to the OOoCon logo wiki page:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOo_Conference_Logos

OOo3 artwork has been uploaded to the wiki:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Art/OOo3_Design
(the colored balls there still show the OOo2 colors)

There is an Impress template linked from the Art Wiki:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/File:Impress_template_thumb.png
But I don't know if we can/should use this as basis for the OOoCon.

> Any takers? Bernard, should people use the Art wiki for their proposals?
Of course I'd like to see the work to be presented at the wiki, but I don't
have the time to create the page
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Art/Gallery/ImpressTemplates
(already linked from the Additional Artwork Gallery) tonight, as we're
traveling back from holiday tomorrow.

I'd copy and modify the Poster/Banner/Flyer page
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Art/Gallery/PostersBannersFlyers
during the next days - if someone else wants to do it, don't hesitate.

Best regards

Bernhard

Nice work. Let's see some really cool proposals!

Hi John, *

I created a wiki page for OOo Impress templates:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Art/Gallery/ImpressTemplates

where we could upload not only the templates for Orvieto, but for
general OOo related purpose too.

To make it easier to get an impression of the templates, we should not
only upload the Impress template files, but images, showing how they
look like.

On uploading the image files we could present the links to the templates
in the comment area, so the user can get the template by two clicks from
the thumbnail of the image in the gallery.

Any comments?

Thanks for your offer!

With regards to fonts: Please use fonts, that are more or less
ubiquitous among OOo users - If your template renders differently on
different computers, this might reduce the quality...

So, if I could get the OOoCon logo from somewhere, I would like to
put something together. The guidelines below look reasonable enough.

John McCreesh posted the link twice - did you get it?

It is a template? In other words people are going to fill it up with
their own words, pics etc so I shouldn't crowd the template too
much.

That's right.

If you had a look at the template for the OOoCon2007 John provided the
link to, you've seen that most of the content is based in the Master Pages.

I assume that I should I start with a blank impress slide and make my
template on it?

I'd propose to use the 2007 template as basis and replace the content by
the 2009 graphics.

I shouldn't worry about having those markers where
pople can import pics etc onto their impress slide?

If you use the existing template, these markers (included in the Master
Pages) will be present in your template too.

That's correct. There are instructions on using template files here:
