Re: [Asterisk-Users] USB Phones for use with Asterisk
Hi all, I have a question that I was hoping someone could answer for me. I would like to find a USB phone that works with Asterisk... preferably one that does not have any issues with NAT. RESPONSE: This is Bill McCready from PCPhoneline.com . I suggest you give our VTA1000 Skype+SIP+IAX2 Gateway which is USB based with a good cordless phone. We offer several versions of the VTA1000 but this is the latest one we have developed and it supports Skype + 10 x SIP + 10 x IAX2 networks all at the same time and plugs into the USB port of a Windows 2000 or Windows XP computer. You can optionally disable Skype and/or the SIP calling capabilities if you don't need them. The VTA1000 is designed to work even if your computer screen is powered off using it with a cordless phone of course gives you the added advantage of not needing to be tied to your computer to place and receive calls. If you don't mind being tethered to a computer we also have the VPT1000 phone available with the same capability set. You can find them in our Ebay store at http://stores.ebay.com/pcphoneline . If you need a bunch of these and want a build specially tailored and branded please private e-mail me with your requirements and we will do our best to try to accomodate you. Best regards...Bill Can anyone point me to something suitable ? We are essentially planning to do a beta for a few hundred customers on our network and would like them to be able to call one another @ no charge. Because these are going to be end users who have no idea about Voice / VOIP stuff... it needs to be extremely easy to use. Can someone point me in the right direction ? Fw: [Asterisk-Users] IAX2 Softphone Quality Network Cards
Hi! We are in the process of an Asterisk call center deployment using IAX2 G711 ulaw softphones. Outbound sound quality is terrible. RESPONSE: This is Bill McCready from PCPhoneline.com . To address your sound quality issues, you may want to check out our VTA1000 Skype+SIP+IAX2 Tri-Mode Gateway which plugs into the USB port of a Windows computer. You can use it with any good cordless or regular phone. This is our very latest version of the VTA1000 and it supports Skype + 10 x SIP + 10 x IAX2 networks concurrently all at the same time - no joke !!! It makes use of the GSM codec for IAX2 which is a lot less bandwidth hungry than G.711 and it also has built in adjustable volume controls so you can fine tune the conversation volume to match your network levels. You can disable the Skype and SIP network calling possibilities if you just want to use IAX2.For clarification, the VTA1000 works completely independently from your computer's speakers and is designed to work even if your computer screen is powered off. You can see this new version of the VTA1000 gateway on Ebay here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=5235490849 . Alternatively, we have a complete 2.4 Ghz Skype+SIP+IAX2 Cordless Phone package here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=5235489796 which of course means you don't need to be anywhere near your computer to place and receive calls. If you have any questions, please private e-mail me. Thanks !!! Re: [Asterisk-Users] USB handset wanted
Give me a handset with a ringer and hook that both work under Linux and I will buy 30 pieces on the spot! No kidding.. RESPONSE: We are working on it and want to make sure we have the product definition correct to best serve the Linux community. Please private e-mail me to clarify if your first target application is the Asterisk PBX so there is no misunderstanding regarding your basic requirements. Thanks !!! Fair enough. From what I see I suppose that every handset with builtin ringer must be recongized to the OS as 2 USB soundcards - one for speaker/mike, the second as a ringer. The ones I have worked with have a seperate ringer that just takes an int to decide which ringtone to play. I.E. it is not shown as a soundcard. -- Cheers, Matt Riddell ___ http://www.sineapps.com/news.php (Daily Asterisk News - html) http://www.sineapps.com/rssfeed.php (Daily Asterisk News - rss) ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
