RE: [Asterisk-Users] TDM400P FXO channel remains Offhook after outoing or incoming call / line is parallel with other telephone equipment

2004-12-07 Thread Ian D. Wlloughby

Asterisk and it works fine untill the following
situation:

- one of the telco lines occasionally becomes mute after call is
completed, would not provide dial tone, (not sure about ringing on that
line) - both via old and new PBX.
- zap show channel n would show that line as 'Offhook', though no
telephone is off hook.

If physical line would be unplugged from TDM card, the line would
become normal again.

The offhook in Zap Show Channels is only for FXS cards

Sorry, if it is a well known problem, but I did not find any specific
information yet.. Please answer two questions:

 - is it really bad to have parallel connection on TDM400P FXO lines to
an additional telephone equipment, does it prevent TDM400P to detect
Offhook/Onhook correctly?

I have equipment in parallel with no problems, which version of Asterisk
are you running
Which country are you in?
Are you using CallerID facilities if so what signalling/method are you
using?

 - will the problems go away when parallel lines would be disconnected
(legacy PBX shut down)?

As you may understand the office personnel has anxiety that this may be
a bad Asterisk setup / bad TDM card etc (which I am sure so far that it
is not).

Maybe but as I say I have not seen such problems. Did lines mute before
Asterisk?

Ian

RE: [Asterisk-Users] TDM400 FXO stops handling outgoing calls, but still accepts incoming?

2004-11-22 Thread Ian D. Wlloughby

Hi Will,

snip
Having read through the Caller ID code, it appears that this is indeed
what is happening. The Caller ID code doesn't contain any logic to
trigger a timeout if no Caller ID data stream is found, or if a stream
starts and does not terminate.
/snip

I submitted a patch for this which was included in the the CVS build of
the 19th of November.

See bug http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0002909

RE: [Asterisk-Users] TDM400 FXO stops handling outgoing calls, but still accepts incoming?

2004-11-22 Thread Ian D. Wlloughby

Ian,

The code I am running includes this patch already (I checked it out
from CVS on the 21st), and it does not seem to resolve the problem on my
line.

The patch I have posted earlier today, which causes the Caller-ID code
to abort after 15 seconds, does resolve the problem.

Hmmm, it should bail out when you get Event 17. This was the patch I put
in if you get an event then bail.

Here is my log:-

Nov 21 16:19:04 VERBOSE[1974]: == Starting post polarity CID detection
on channel 4
Nov 21 16:19:04 NOTICE[28670]: Got event 17 (Polarity Reversal)...
Nov 21 16:19:06 WARNING[28670]: CID timed out waiting for ring. Exiting
simple switch

Which looks the same as yours so I am confuse as to why yours isn't
bailing as the code is in the same if block as the Got event 17.

Are you using V23 and Polarity Reversal as this is the only bit of code
I changed, the Bell stuff already had conditions to allow it to bail
out.

RE: [Asterisk-Users] Echo - UK Impedance problem with X100P?

2004-11-12 Thread Ian D. Wlloughby

snip
I have an X100p interface (clone). The system works fine but I get echo to a level where the system is all but unusable for IP PSTN. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the UK line impedance is different from the default compile and needs changing. I have Wikied etc, but found nothing yet.

/snip

This facility is only available with the TDM FXO cards not the X100's. I can confirm the TDM01B eliminates all echo and impedence probs here in the UK.

[Asterisk-Users] Strange problem with TDM400 FXO in UK

2004-10-29 Thread Ian D. Wlloughby

Hi Folks,
I have a Rev H TDM01B board which seems to be working pretty well. However sometimes when I dial out on the Zap channel I get the Congestion signal on my SIP phone and a message logged in the log file saying :-

Unable to create channel of type 'Zap'

followed by :-

Dial argument takes format (technology1/[device:]numbetechnology2/[device:]number2...|optional timeout)

If I then dial in my SIP phone rings and I am again able to dial out.

I am guessing the Polarity reversal on the dial in is reseting the channel but why is it getting in this state in the first place, any idea's?

So, this is where you might be able to help!
 *	Have you used X100P cards in the UK successfully?

YES

 *	Do you know a supplier of TDM400P cards in the UK?

As far I know TDM400P is not available from any UK supplier, because it
is not approved for use in UK.

Dear Friends of Ubiquity Software:

As you may have noticed, Ubiquity Software began using the web domain ubiquity.com earlier this year in addition to the previously established ubiquity.net for our website and email communications to you. As an international software company founded over decade ago, you can always reach Ubiquity Software under the website www.ubiquity.net http://www.ubiquity.net/ and via email at @ubiquity.net. However, we have also chosen to expand our domain to the more specific www.ubiquitysoftware.com http://www.ubiquitysoftware.com/ for web and @ubiquitysoftware.com for email communications.

When you do that shut

I made the mistake of
unloading the specific module for my card (which did unload) but when I tried to
unload zaptel it said it was in use, realizing asterisk was still loaded I
connected and did a stop now.

If you don't like to load a channel or module, you can choose for two
 methods:
 - You can delete it. The channels and apps are located in
 /usr/lib/asterisk/modules.
 - You can choose to not load when asterisk loads.
 Use modules.conf, set
 noload = foo.so

At least is strage... I'm using chan_oh323 without failures, and
IMHO, it's more stable and powerful than others. I'm not wish to start

RE: [Asterisk-Users] internal external SIP

2004-07-08 Thread Ian D. Wlloughby

I am guessing the problem is that your internal clients can see the
external SIP clients but not the other way round. The clients have to be
able to make a physical connection to each other. You are not using any
NAT capabilities I guess as your internal clients have their own network
to access the server on. If you set nat on in sip.conf for one of your
internal clients and get it to register on the public network, does this
work?

Hi all,
I've got a problem with external sip clients.
My * box has 2 nics, one to my internal network and one on a public IP.
There are external sip clients (on public IPs) and internal clients on
the internal nic.
both clients can register fine.
I can phone external clients from the internal clients and the
connection works perfectly.
But if an external client phones an internal one, the internal phone
rings, but when the phone is picked up the external call disappears.
Both internal and external have canreinvite=no

Can anyone give me any ideas where to start looking into this.
