[Asterisk-Users] How to 'Dial' a Parked Call ?

Hiya.
I've been using * for a while now and everything is working fine (but
then I'm only using basic features :) However I have to make a change to
the setup to allow a new feature for the users.
Basically I have a few people on the * box using the current agent /
queue system where I create a call file into the spool directory so they
can make outbound calls to customers from a simple web page. But now I
need to add the feature of transfering an active call to an outside line
(another office) BUT the 'agent' needs to talk to the person at the
other office first to give them some basic customer details.
So my idea was for the agent to place the customer on park, dial the
outside line as normal then 'invite' the outside call to the parked
extention once they have finished their bit.
My problem is I can't for the life of me work out how to do the last
stage. Parking - no problem, dial outside line - no problem, but how do
I transfer the active call to an existing parked extention so they can
continue the conversation?
Any suggestions would be very welcome!
Vince.

[Asterisk-Users] Simple Call Center Setup?

2004-02-21 Thread Zarjazz

I am looking to implement a simple call center with Asterisk and I'm
scratching my head trying to work out the best setup.

Now the usual dialin / dialout setup I have no problems with. SIP phone
on each desk, * acting as the SIP proxy / PSTN gateway. User dials into
the gateway to talk to an agent (hunt group type thing), or a single
agent dials out to a specific number. That part is simple enough and
works already.

However I need to add the following feature:

Some application (asterisk maybe or a custom SIP softphone type thing)
needs to dial out to a range of numbers, once a success connection is
made I need to then transfer the call to the first free agent. The
available agents need to notify the system somehow that they are ready.
I was thinking of maybe 'parking' and then somehow inviting the remote
call to their phone.

So is something like this possible already with * or do I need to go and
start getting out my C refence manuals and do some coding?

Vince.

Which thread exactly? There is the agents / ackcall one but that is for
*inbound* calls which I already can do. This is for a dialout redirect
type scenario.
