VoicePulse! (www.voicepulse.com) I've been extremely pleased with the quality of the VOIP calls, uptime, and on the rare occasions I've needed support, they responded within 1 day and followed through great on the tickets. Rates are exceptional too, national calling 200 minutes is $15/mo and unlimited local calls which don't count against the minutes is a huge calling area including your area code and all adjacent area codes usually. They have a nice web interface to manage features such as filters and scheduled do not disturb. When I was comparing other providers, VoicePulse seemed to have a super-set of all the features provided by the others and generally the best price. Oh, and I think they may use Asterisk for some services... for certain they've contributed sounds/voice prompts to the community. I'm happy to subscribe to them. ___ --Bandwidth and Colocation sponsored by Easynews.com -- Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

As a business solution (multiple outgoing calls at one time) what are you guys using? I've been using a mixture of voxee, voipjet, mutualphone and nuphone. Nuphone has great termination and provides did's (Toll Free numbers and Michigan). For USA termination, they are great, altough support is slow, but you'll barely require it. voxee and voipjet are good all around, but some destinations are not that good. In particular, I've been having problems to some destinations in Mexico, which i use a lot (by the way, if someone knows of a provider who can offer high quality iax2 termination to mexico for under US$0.06 please tell me!) These three providers support iax. voxee and NuFone support sip also. Then, there's mutualphone. They only support sip but only with g.729. Generally speaking, good quality, but I've had trouble terminating some calls to Mexico. I blame this on their use on sip, but not really sure. What happens is that some calls are cut short, or get one way audio only. Something i really don't like of them is that call progress is really poor. In Mexico there are a lot of call progress indications that are recordings telling what's going on (phone is busy, phone is out of service). They won't let through most call progress indications, or you will be billed from the moment you get some call progress. Sometimes even worse, you won't hear anything, but will be billed!. This problem with indications happens sometimes with the other two, but is worse with mutualphone. Also, it's payment process is a nightmare. Mutualphone's greatest advantage is it's low cost. Please forgive my verboseness. RE: [Asterisk-Users] Best Voip provider (Broadvoice and Vonage comparison)
If you need a FXS, Vonage starts at $15. If you want to simply go soft-only, Broadvoice would be a better choice. After the marketing and all the features that nobody uses are thrown out, it comes down to consistency. Broadvoice has had some problems in the past 6 months, Vonage hasn't (that I know of). Vonage makes you throw away your ATA and won't let you reactivate it if you close your account. Broadvoice has free calling to US + 34 countries for a $25 account. I can setup a broadvoice account and have it up and running as quickly as I can click through the order process, login to get my password, and then setup the SIP config on my asterisk box. Vonage...not so much as you have to either activate a brand new retail unit or allow them to ship you one. Granted, you can add soft accounts once you have a hard account, but soft phone accounts are stuck at 500 free minutes. Choose your poison... No matter who you go with, there will be pros and cons. I guess by default, I choose Broadvoice, only because Vonage makes it hard to purchase only what I need. There are others out there too, cheaper, better, blah... Its not worth arguing over. They all have outages eventually, piss of a few active mailing-list'ers and suddenly their reputation goes to downhill. Vonage - if you are reading this, stop requiring people to buy a device just to get a softphone activated. Also, stop making us buy a NEW device if we decide to disconnect the old device for a while. While your at it, put an unlimited minutes option on your softphones. Look at Broadvoice's plans! Broadvoice - if you are reading this, please let me register with all your proxies, not just one! Also, stop answering my call just to play some corny message that says my call won't go through. I can reroute the call if you just congest the call invitation. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of jonny hashem Sent: Saturday, August 13, 2005 2:43 PM To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Best Voip provider what is the best voip provider that provides good service ,good voice quality and good rates . any one have an experience with voip providers advice me. That may be true, but for whatever reason I cannot get through to the phone number that they advertise on the front page. I setup an account and had weird stuff happening throughout the day, no way to get ahold of them, and no response to email yet, even though they claim 24/7 support. I am fully expecting the issues to be resolved, but unfortunately the customer support model seems to be the same one that the others have adopted .. First if you are using asterisk that limits your choices, not all appreciate it when you connect something they didnt give you. As for best that depends, sometimes one is better simply because network wise its closer to you, other times its because of the level of tech support, generally its because of call quality and percentage of dropped calls. You mentioned low costs, but that depends on how you will use it. For inbound only? outbound to which countries? small minute usage or high volume calling? It all depends on how you plan on using it. You can also mix and match. For inbound only with a washington state US number ipkall.com is good and free (they forward through freeworlddialup.com also free. For outbound you can use nuphone.com or something like that that only does outbound. That way your costs are only when you actually place a call as opposed to whether or not you do. It depends highly on how you would use it. -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel UK +44 870 340 4605 Germany +49 801 777 555 3402 US +1 360 207 0479 or +1 516 687 5200 FreeWorldDialup: 635378 signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

Re: [Asterisk-Users] Best VoIP provider
All I'm saying is avoid sixTel. They have great sound quality, good prices, good ping times, and a pretty control panel. However if you ever need support anything done that doesn't happen automatically on their web site (number doesn't ring, custom toll free did, refund, support in general) forget about it. It's been three months since i ordered my custom toll free did, and it's not active yet! Calling their support number just tells you to go to the web site. Adding tickets, even emergency tickets, seem to go to /dev/null. Also if anyone knows of a provider that does LNP, would be able to move my numbers away from sixTel if they don't respond after a certain date and has decent prices please let me know. Re: [Asterisk-Users] Best VoIP provider for Asterisk?
We're using http://www.global-gateway.net/ I've compared their pricing with nufone.com, and for what I can see, they're quite a bit below (.us @ 21c/min). They do not, however, have .us number termination. Their website sucks but the voip works. we have an IAX2 trunk over to their .uk site. roy On Fri, 2003-07-18 at 17:54, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hello! Re: [Asterisk-Users] Best VoIP provider for Asterisk?
Send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] I did this late Friday afternoon and Jeremy had me set up in very short order. (I gave him wrong contact info Friday but he IM'd me the needed account info Saturday morning.) I've got problems with my own IP connection but aside from that the service just works. Once I resolve that I'll be able to truly vouch for the line quality. I've got an 800 number for incoming calls and I can route long distance calls out to NuFone. Both directions is $0.029/minute. They are still building their web based account management tools but I saw a preview and they look pretty nice. It's a prepay service and there doesn't seem to be an account set up fee right now so it's easy to get set up and try it out--that's what I'm doing. For what it's worth, I didn't do any investigation of alternatives. Good customer service, like NuFone appears to be in the business of, is usually worth a lot more than maybe getting the lowest rate. -reed At 09:20 AM 7/20/2003 +0300, you wrote: Hi, How can you subscribe to this service? RE: [Asterisk-Users] Best VoIP provider for Asterisk?
I'm surprised my recommendations carry any weight! :) Jeremy McNamara runs NuFone and he's an active member of the Asterisk community. He also wrote the chan_h323 driver that is included with Asterisk. Jeremy probably hasn't chimed in on these type of questions to avoid being flamed with STOP ADVERTISING! e-mails, but I'm sure he's the first to agree that his website needs some work. I can assure you that the interface behind the scenes that allows you to administer your account is working well and constantly being improved. So far, Jeremy has relied on customers from and through the Asterisk community so there probably wasn't a need for a fancy site. -wade [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote on 07/18/2003 12:03:06 PM: I recommend NuFone.
