This also seems to not be viable: "Asterisk 1.6 and 11 (help us to port it
to Asterisk 13/14)"
I am using asterisk 13 - RTMP does not seem to be available for that.

Thanks - not familiar with chan_rtmp. Will look at it.

I was also wondering about directfb ? Currently I am missing a dependency
to try it. Trying to find that also for baresip.
I dont see an example for "directfb" in the config file for baresip.

Thanks

You could use RTMP protocol from asterisk to rtmpsrc in gstreamer. I used
chan_rtmp long time back but it only supported audio back then.

Hi guys ..
I have some experience with asterisk and sip since I have been using it
for over 10 years.
But in the last years I have been just maintaining the installations we

Now I have a requirement that is dialing to a h323 endpoint that answers
with video and I need to display it in a local display.

I have already tried Ekiga (unstable, difficult to automate since it is
a graphical app) and linphone that does not support h323. I also found
simpleopal that I don't know if it can handle that.

My idea is to convert this to a Docker Container later and to run it in
a Raspberry Pi. I have already been playing with Raspberry Pi and
containers for some other purposes with good results..

So, I would like to know if asterisk offers a way to automatically
listen to a system event, dial to a h323 endpoint that will answer with
video and if it has drivers to display locally the video or to pipe to a
omxplayer, for example.

chan_ooh323 does not do the job ?

[asterisk-users] asterisk video streaming

2013-03-10 Thread Vieri
Hi,

I'd like an Asterisk SIP client with videosupport=yes to be able to dial into
an IVR which would allow the user (after asking a few questions - like
authentication, etc) to stream it's audio and video (mic + webcam) as an HTTP
stream (say, a flash stream as it's the most common format for now or webm,
vp8, etc.).
How can I do this?

The setup would be something like this:

SIP client with webcam---Asterisk Server1 SIP IVR---video and audio
conversion + streaming as HTTP---Internet clients (flash players or built-in
modern browser players)

From extensions.conf (within my IVR) can I call an AGI script that will then
redirect both audio and video to an external application on the Asterisk
server such as VideoLAN's VLC? I don't know if the external app can take the
videoaudio from Asterisk as INPUT, transcode it and stream it as, eg., an FLV
via HTTP.

There are lots of streaming solutions out there (red5, vlc, ffmpeg) but I'd
really like to know if someone here already has experience connecting Asterisk
to one of these solutions and how.

Or can Asterisk 11 already do the HTTP streaming part on its own?

Thanks,

Vieri

I've posted a question at stack-overflow describing my problem -

In short, what are the exact specs that a 3gp or mp4 file needs to have
in order to play under asterisk ?*

Any tips, links or suggestions will be very welcome.

*Thank you all!

[asterisk-users] asterisk video support and IPTV

2010-02-02 Thread Jeff LaCoursiere

Has anyone played with the idea of Asterisk as an H.264 multicast tool?
I am wondering what the possibility would be to have some kind of machine
with a capture card call asterisk over SIP and have asterisk make another
hundred calls to subscribers. Then any H.264 compatible device (Android?
Set top boxes? Plugin to MythTV?) would be able to receive a video/audio
stream.

It's a Video Codec issue.

Tell eyebeam not to use H263p then it'll work.

At least that's how I got a Grandstram to talk to eyebeam.

it works if i call from grandstream to eyebeam, but eyebeam to

Biggest problem is codec selection. Make sure both ends support the same

I don't know about 1.4 - Not tried it yet.

But that's one more reason to not upgrade to 1.4 yet. How could they have

Re: [asterisk-users] Asterisk video alternatives

2008-06-09 Thread Ken Williams
I looked at quite a few options over the course of somewhere around 9
months.

We ended up going with Polycom VSX7000 series units. These units are
really designed to use H.323, but they have a SIP option that works
almost just as well. The only thing I seem to be missing that I've
noticed is control of remote sites camera's. By using SIP it's just
like any other phone on the network. I've been very happy.

Good thing to, cause they're damned expensive units.

[asterisk-users] Asterisk video support

2006-09-06 Thread Joao Pereira

Hello to all
I used SER for SIP calls with video, but now Im trying the same in
Asterisk and It doesnt work.

I m using X-Lite 3.0 (the same that worked with SER).
Do Asterisk needs any special configuration to allow SIP calls with
video between its clients?

Regards
Joao Pereira

Asterisk's support for video over SIP is very rudimentary. Only to
video codecs H.261, H.263, and H.263+ are supported, and even then,
not very well. There is no support for dynamic negotiation of frame
rates, etc. Queries to the -dev list, as to progress on these features
were recently met with silence. We will be looking to jump into the
project to support our own initiatives in the area of video in a few
weeks.

Until things change, your best bet for connecting SIP video phones is
SER.

You are very welcome to join the group that works with this. There is
an open bug report in the SIP section of the bug tracker to enhance
the videosupport setting, please test that code and add your test
results to the bug report.

There are others out there that work with video in Asterisk and I
have some new code from a developer that will be added to a separate
branch soon, also for testing. Your input and additions is very much
needed.

If we work fast, we might get some of the smaller additions into
Asterisk 1.4, more substantial changes into the release after that.
But that requires testing and a lot of help!

[Asterisk-Users] Asterisk Video Conferencing Bounty bumped to $3, 000

2005-05-11 Thread Dean Collins

Ok people its been a while since Ive heard

http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20bounty%20Meet%20Me%20video%20conferencing

The bounty for Asterisk Video Conferencing has now been
bumped to $3,000. There are some additional feature and performance
requirements for this funding now, please contact me if you are a developer who
feel he has the skills to make this happen.

I might also be able to organize some additional funding to
this for ongoing development of this should this interest you.

So far I have been contacted by 3 developers none of which I
have heard from in the last 4 months so I assume they have all dropped out.

Looking forward to working with anyone who can actually
deliver.

[Asterisk-Users] Asterisk Video Phones - Cisco Call manager 4.0

2005-02-21 Thread Dinesh
Hello All,

I have integrated my asterisk server to cisco call manager, now in the
process of doing video for asterisk. I understand from the wiki that
asterisk supports Wooksung WVP-2000 SIP (hardware phone). Are there any
others in the market, I mean hardware phones.

I know sometime last year cisco relased video for call manager 4.0. Wanting
to know if someone has ventured into that end? Basically I want to set up
video phones in asterisk, that can talk to the callmanager.
