Thanks SLJ. Victorious, Some versions ago the possibility to create and use races was added. SoundMUD created the example orc race. The mission shows you how it works. Moreover, you can play with orcs on the multiplayer maps. harrylst,Not really sure what to tell you other than it sounds like you have an issue with object orientation. When I am in a game like Sarah or Shades of Doom I try to keep an image of the level in my mind. Now, I assume if you have been blind from birth that might be harder for you to do since you arent able to create a mental image in your mind as I can.In games like Shades of Doom and Sarah you can set markers to try and remember where you have been which might help. The visited here command also helps when learning a new level for the first time. Dark,Well, fried chicken is a staple in America, particularly in the south, and having grown up on it I guess I am a pretty big fan of fried chicken. In particular our local I.G.A. has a little diner attached that serves up some of the best fried chicken and mashed potatoes I have eaten. At least, the best in my area.Now, my favorite place to eat fried chicken is a privately owned restaurant called White House Chicken in Barberton Ohio. It is a family owned establishment, has been around for close to a hundred years, and the special recipes etc have been passed on down from generation to generation of family members. Besides having the best fried chicken I have ever eaten they have some very good sides such as their hot and spicy rice, baked beans, mashed potatoes with home made gravy, fresh baked dinner rolls, etc. It is one of those places that blows the commercial restaurants like Kentucky Fried Chicken out of the water in terms of taste and quality.The poi
 nt I am getting at is I suspect one reason you might not be a fan of fried chicken is you have never had a chance or opportunity to eat any truly good fried chicken. If your only exposure is the garbage served up by major franchises like Burger King or Kentucky Fried Chicken its no wonder you dont like it. Ghost Rider,In addition to what Bladestorm said I think today Roguelike also refers to any type of game set into a large scale dungeon with randomly generated enemies. Ill also add that the gameplay in lots of roguelikes is heavily tactical and positional. The player can move in 8 directions, and there are often many different monsters and objects on screen all at once. Well the angband floor map is a lot larger. Also when I you speak of map in a roguelike you are pretty much saying the same thing, everyone gets the same, though with the complexity of the layout Im not sure even hurristic descriptions on a 21 x 80 map might work. As regards config tips, as I said, I think some people have managed it with a braille display but its not common, though more widely publicized. Regarding virtual cursers, I dont see why the nvda curser wouldnt work, certainly when Ive tried the games with supernova virtual curser has no problem reading the screen, accept the problem is interpreting such a lot of ascii, which is why the only roguelike Ive ever played successfully is angband and that using my remaining vision and some large graphic tyles rather than ascii and supernova.URL: http://forum.audiogames.ne

Hmmm, interesting mechanics. Perhaps some of this could be built into the game, so that you get an idea of the relative strengths of weapons, and how dangerous monsters were. If the ratling pack had shown that they werent being bothered by my sword Id have likely run, likewise I actually had an axe at the time but the description said itlooks heavy so I assumed itd be slower and less effective weapon than the sword, which was obviously incorrect. @harrielst, well you could try nvda, but youd still be using the virtual curser, however at least in supernova there is no problem doing this, its literally two key presses, one to activate the dolphin curser, one to jump the last bit of text then you can red down from there.Indeed, in supernova you pretty much use the virtual curser for lots of things, a modified version is even used on webpages.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=165827#p165827

@Druhv, Im surprised about the coffee in India, since Ive had very nice propper coffee that has been grown over there before myself, it seems a shame they dont sell it more locally. One problem with Indian food over here is that while there are some fantastic Indian restaurants like the one I mentioned and some very good Indian chefs, there are rather too many bad ones who just slam as much spice into something as possible, call it a vindaloo, and serve it to very drunk people on saturday nights, there are also some equally bad packistani places that sell very horrible kibabs and pizza, this means generally if you find a decent indian restaurant in the Uk you have to support them, indeed I knew a very nice place in Newcastle not far from where I live that unfortunately shut down due to lack of custom which was a shame. @Tom, well Kfc I wasnt actually going to be
  mention, and to be honest Ive not even had one for a good amount of time, like about 10 or 14 years! Nope. The 20 boss doesnt drop anything. Just checked a few times. Unless a condition has to be met like with the dolls or you have to be in a certain spot like the jump shoes, or just a random drop. Another unrelated question, How do you avoid the dark stage of the ball? You cant block it, you cant jump it, you cant outrun it, you cant move past the ball so it goes away from you, and you cant kill it before it hits you. If it hits you, you die unless you have millions of hp I guess. I dont. Another great launcher to check out, is the KK Launcher. Oddly enough, it has an option to create folders, without needing to drag icons on top of each other, which is how ya do it with Apex.Also, if ya have a bluetooth keyboard, apex makes it sing! Hello Nin.Well I dont know how accessible this is since I havent tried it yet. But one thing that helps me is to memorize the character screen. I noticed in this game when you get to the character select menu the music changes to rock n roll like music so what I do with other games is try to memorize the positions of the characters in the menu. NVDA for me, seems to read most text automatically after typing in a command. When it reads randomly which seems to happen the further you progress, the review cursor NVDA plus up/down arrows to move by line seems to work fine. As you go forward, NVDA seems to read various symbols such as left bracket and right bracket, I am assuming a textual map is being drawn as you move through the dungeon? Other than that, the game is quite enjoyable, not as complex as Kerkerkruip. I would love to get in to Kerkerkruip as well but the NVDA review cursor seems a little weird in that it keeps repeating lines as you review and the only way to hear certain status and other information is to let it auto read text after entering commands. I am using the windows git interpreter with the NVDA add on. I am also looking for a comprehensive walkthrough but I do understand that such a game doesnt really require one because of the randomness etc. Unfortunate

HiIve recently like in the last couple of days, started playing swamp, on the practice offline maps. Ive never used the mouse much except for clicking on something after routing JAWS cursor to PC cursor,. So its been fun and interesting learning how to move. It took me a little while how to figure out how to use my weapon and move. I had a sighted friend help me figure out how to move more when she visited me the other day. It doesnt look like you can get reputation in offline mode. I killed five or so zombies and still had zero rep.In online mode, you can buy equipment from the safe zones and outposts on each map. Be sure you explore and learn those maps well! I still think its so cool how much the mouse is integrated into this game. It makes the experience so unique for the audio gamer. I am no longer proposing anything heuristic. The Nethack source already does this for us. I havent taken a detailed look, so i dont know if it keeps the information after map generation, but at least while the generator is running it knows whats part of a room, whats part of a corridor, and the like. The problem with this project as I see it is that, well, I need to beat Nethack to finish it. It will require unforeseen additions for a good long while to handle everything.
