There was a very good article posted on the audeasy list a while ago explaining that Google have not introduced sensible web views into Android which make it dam hard for developers to write programs that are compatible with talkback, (not impossible, but far less easy than on Ios or even windows). this is partly why there are far fewer accessible games and applications for android, that and of course the issue that people have so many different makes and models of phones with slightly different os and versions of android that writing something accessible that covers all isnt easy.I can see that Android culd be an awsome platform in the future and I do keep a watch on what is being done with it, but for me at least it was the inherent accessibility of Ios and the fact that there are so many aps and games that are accessible that I went with it over Android. I can see android being a choice if you just want

Does your display show a block of text rather than a single line? I could see that helping a lot with roguelikes, though Ive never heard of a display like that.  of course the real problem with braille is that the technology is just so dam expensive, and for most things that arent roguelikes audio is an easier and cheaper method, indeed this is why I could see braille vanishing in the next 30 or so years unless a far cheaper interaction with informational technology comes along.One idea that has never been explored yet is the possibilities of using a touch screen display. If you could configure the speech correctly to show you each tyle and have fine enough motor control you could get spacial information directly from that, though how much could be shown finger wise with accuracy Im not sure, (I dont think itd work on something as small as an Iphone screen for example).As
  for audio maps, well the methods to show maps in text description are pretty standardized now if you were writing a game from scratch, look at something like time of conflict. Hi,I also noticed this problem, and after digging around a bit, I discovered the following solutions:1. Go to the control panel.2. Find the item called sounds.3. On the next screen, dont select any devices. Instead, go to the tabs where you see playback, recording, etc. Look for a tab called comunications.4. You should see some radio buttons. Select do nothing.5. Click apply.Next time you make or receive a call, this should make the pc not adjust the volumes.If that doesnt work, heres another thing you can try that might work in conjunction with the previous method:1. Launch skype.2. Go to tools, and select options.3. Select sound.4. Keep pressing tab, past all the microphone settings. Youll see a checkbox let skype adjust my microphone settings, keep tabbing and eventually you should see a checkbox that also says let skype adjust my speaker settings. Uncheck that.5. Hi,Android definitely takes some setting up, but its certainly usable. I recently got me a Samsung Galaxy s4, I purchased eSpeak from the play store for 69 pence, and I also noticed that the latest version of Talkback has an accessibility tutorial, something that iOS doesnt have built in.One thing I found very odd was having to set up my home screen, by installing something like Nova Launcher, but the great thinga bout Nova Launcher is that, for the most part, its accessible. The only thing Talkback does not do with this launcher is tell you where you are dragging your finger when you move icons, which, trust me when you first set up your home screen can be annoying to deal with, but i got used to it, and now have my home screen and dock the way I would like it.Ive also got the free firefox browser, but I browse more on the pc anyway.When I switched to eSpeak, I imediately noticed a difference in the speed of Talkback. I then increas
 ed it to a similar speed that I have it on the PC, and its now very fast indeed.The thing I love about android is the customization. Its very easy to add new ringtones, you can even, at least on the Samsung phones, set songs as ringtones, alarms, text tones, etc, from your music library. You can also add any file you want to folders that show up as a USB device when you plug it into the pc (ringtones for ringtones, and notifications for your text and notification sounds.)Ditto with music. NO fiddling about with iTunes, just add whatever you want to the music folder via the pc and there you go.Id definitely recommend keeping your iPhone though, due to the amount of apps available for that platform, and how, in general, the phone does have quite a lot more accessibility standards.However, Android is certainly getting better, especially on version 4.3 and upwards.Samsung have even partnered with Dropbox. I signed in when it asked me to, w

Aprone, I also remembered something from a few versions back that isnt really serious: if you go to map4 from Stark road, you transfer over facing east instead of north. Im not sure if it will do that at the SZ in this Version because in 3.1 I would get thrown in the sz facing east instead of south. I believe it downloads the sounds on the fly and tries to save them into a soundpack, but I dont know where it tries to put that sound pack. My guess is that you dont have write access to that directory, possibly because youre running the executable from a directory you dont own. @SLJ, it could very well just be that this computer is slow and crappy. For example, even if Im clicking the bottom left corner, it might try to move me. Even more frequent, when I try to use the right corner to move, it just fires my weapon. Its very slow and unresponsive. I tried to set keyboard commands for walking and firing, but they lagged and wouldnt work half the time. My only problem with my Dell laptop sitting up in the hall closet is that you have to be forceful with the shift key to capitalize letters. It still runs very well for being bought in 09. Now that Im not doing the volunteer writing work I was before... maybe Ill try switching back to it, just so I can play Swamp on my trackpad. Oh man. I wish theyd fix that instead of having to restart. I guess it doesnt matter quite as much in this version though since:spoilers.You cant carry over all your stuff anyway with the new bonus shop system. So not a huge deal. Haha. I definitely google translated that. I try to keep my english as formal as possible when translating so that it will hopefully come through clearly.A bit off topic here, but I havent really found a reliable method of learning japanese yet that keeps me motivated and is completely accessible. If anyone knows of one, Id be very happy to hear them. I was using Pimsleur for a while, but I get bored with it. Busuu for the iPhone has some parts that are almost impossible to do, like dragging japanese characters into the proper order. I cant do it because I dont know what each individual japanese character means so I dont know where it goes. I assume for a sighted person they

Well, that depends on what kind of learning method you would prefer. The kanji themselves actually look similar sometimes, and even sighted people who learn Japanese need to know the character meanings. When you type on a keyboard, the character list comes up where you can choose a character to insert, but theres a tiny description of what that character means next to it which makes the job easier.But I agree about having to start over. It isnt as big a deal as it might sound.. especially if theres been changes and tweeks made. I just beat Rudolph again for the fun of it using my old save... and I got an error before I could save my clear slot. I also wanted to mention something that Ive run into a couple times now. I dont know if it is a bug or caused by what keys I have set for using my favorite weapons. Im pretty sure I saw someone else mention this earlier, and Im experiencing it as well.I have my favorite weapons set to control plus mouse1 and mouse2. if I am using favorite weapon 2 which is control plus mouse2, and it runs out of ammo and I have no ammo to reload it I cannot switch to my favorite 1 weapon. it works either way whether favorite 1 runs out of ammo or if favorite 2 runs out. I however can still switch weapons by using the number row, but not by using the favorite weapons. its happened a couple times now and no matter how much I beat on my mouse it wont switch lol. its not a big deal accept for when Im surrounded and trying to get away from hordes of zombies. Im new to this whole bug thing, and weather something is a bug or not, but I tho

Hello James. The inner fortress is the level you are talking about. The beeping electric barrier means you cannot get passed that. If you go through the tutorial, you would find that out. The only thing you can do is go backwards from the electric barrier. When you start that level, you dont actually start at the beginning of the level. You start in the middle of the level. So you have to go all the way back going left until you here seomthing the place being on fire. The that will kill the electric barrier. It will be tough but keep practicing. If you need more help, please feel free to post your questions on the form again. And there is a 5 and a 10 bits accomplishments. I got the 1 enemies achievement as I said in my last post, but thats good to know that there are more, so I can just keep running through the My Documents level killing enemies, trying to get that achievement as well as trying to beat it in the required time. Thats the only level Ive gotten closest to beating it within the required time limit. The absolute cloest I can get on My Music is 1 minute and 33 seconds! Oy! So annoying! LOL. Thanks for your help, Audioracer! So do I have to escape this fire before running back to the now gone electric barrier? Or, do I have to run until I hear the fire and then run back to where that barrier was? Hi Leibylucwgamer.Ok, I will tell you how to beat each level.First the abyss. When you start you will hear the first phone in your left ear. Walk about 14 or 15 steps you will be at the edge of the abyss. Now turn left until the sound of the phone is in the center. Walk towards it until the phone beeps. Walk about 2 steps then turn right until the sound of the next phone is in your left ear. Walk until you reach the edge. This part of the level is random so throw glass until you hit the abyss. Turn left until the sound of the phone is centered. Walk towards it and then turn until the third phone is to your far right. Now walk carefully and when you reach the phone the exit will be opened. There is a forgotten man at the end so watch out.Now the submarine. Swim toward the first bubble and swim fast so that the man will tell you to swim slowly. This is so you dont get caught up by this later. Get the bubbles then break the first peaces of music. Turn right wh
 en you go outside the sub and you will be able to hear the music. Swim as fast as you can to it break it and turn left to a bubble. Turn right and swim to the next peace of music. There are no more bubbles so turn right again and swim to the very last peace. You will start to die but if you swim fast enough you will be able to break it before you lose the level.Now the fire. This is actually very simple. There are 2 cans of oil that will catch fire during the level. Depending on which direction your facing the oil will either catch fire to your left or right. Turn quickly to the oil walk towards it until the burning sound is loud and use your extinguisher. @BryanP Voiceover practice is more like keyboard help than a tutorial. On android, when you load talkback for the first time, you get a propper tutorial that not only explains gestures, but also lets you try them in a practical environment. EG, the first thing it asks you to do is drag your finger to find something, then it shows you flicking, then double-tapping, etc. The Mac does this as well so Im not sure why Voiceover on iOS doesnt.As far as screen readers, Ill say I like Voiceover better, apart from the braille support which is horrible IMO. However, talking about OSs in general, Android beats iOS hands down. To me, the iPhone is too limitting to be productive - moving data from one app to another, or even from and to a computer is really overcomplicated. I already wrote my thoughts down on Applevis as far as being more specific, so feel free to read that post

Two things that Id recommend:1. A notification when you log in that you have new friend requests, or, a notification if they are online that X has requested you.2. Revise that readme. Why put in all the puzzle answers, as well as a bug in the game into a readme? The bug that Im talking about is where you can be facing any direction, and if a zombie hits you from whatever direction you can fire and it will always hit. The bug where a zombie takes damage if you fire while you share a map tile with it has been around since I started playing. That was at 1.7 or 1.8, and given that it has been there ever since, I saw it as a feature, or at least an intentional function.As to the puzzles, I put them under a clear warning that there are spoilers ahead, so if you dont want to read them, you dont have to. For those online when no one else who knows the puzzle is, or those who dont use the chat system, or those who prefer to read it out in one instead of get a bunch of possibly conflicting advice, the puzzle explanations are there. The computer Im using is used by my family and they find it a little annoying when nvda comes on at log-on. It is a windows 7 computer and Im using the latest nvda 2014. I got the 1 enemies achievement as I said in my last post, but thats good to know that there are more, so I can just keep running through the My Documents level killing enemies, trying to get that achievement as well as trying to beat it in the required time. Thats the only level Ive gotten closest to beating it within the required time limit. The absolute closest I can get on My Music is 1 minute and 33 seconds! Oy! So annoying! LOL. Thanks for your help, Audioracer! So do I have to escape this fire before running back to the now gone electric barrier? Or, do I have to run until I hear the fire and then run back to where that barrier was? Basically, Im looking for something to easily play chords for me. In the Garage Band app for iPhone, I can go to the smart guitar and strum a few chords, but if there is any way to pan to more chords (like you can pan octaves with gestures for the piano), I dont know about it. the app only has seven or so chords listed by default on screen.is there a way to make the app display more chords, or are those all we get? Is there a program that plays chords as easily as GB? Ive found some text charts of chords online, but the midi editor I have is very basic and hard to use. Updating a hackintoshed OS X virtual machine, or a real hackintosh for that matter, is a bad idea. While you can update a mac VM that youre running on a real mac (which is how I tested developer previews of Mavericks without touching my mountain lion setup). Hackintosh installers are first modified by another program so they will execute on Non-Apple hardware, and after that you still need to manually install the required kernel extensions to support all of your hardware. SO, just running the Mavericks setup from the mac app store wont work. Either get unibeast and modify the installer so it boots, which will probably not boot after the install due to outdated kexts, or look for a new VM that already has mavericks, Im sure they exist.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=170731#p170731

Thats what Ive been doing. The passwords enter fine, but the game crashes after Im returned to normal gameplay. This happens whether I enter a correct password, whether I enter an invalid password or whether I just hit the quit button from the password dialogue. Its something about processing that dialogue and going back to the field that kills things. It even gives me the items when I enter a correct password, but of course I dont get to keep them because the game crashes before I can save.BTW, are you sure you didnt just get lucky? As I said, the password worked once, but it didnt actually give me the items. If you have time, could you try going to the edit field where you type the password and either entiner some incorrect passwords or just hitting the exit button from that dialogue a few times, and see if your game crashes?Also, Im wondering if you actually got the items. I saw that someone else reported not getting
  the items properly from the Lilia password, and when I got the password to work, it didnt give me any items either. Even when the game crashed though, the other password worked fine and did exactly what it was supposed to. I said they were insecure and slow because most seedboxes run a full ubuntu/rtorrent stack for each user, making you responsible for updates and ssh access and so on. When you use put.io, you arent running a full fledged Linux VPS, so you dont have to worry about managing it. What do people think about this idea. I have had a good number of people worried about skill resets, especially now that they are trying to test different configurations in relation to the new armor system. The lower level players can get resets pretty easily because they can level in a day. The higher level guys are stuck for a while between resets. Instead of gaining a new skill reset each time you level, would people prefer 1 reset every 24 hours? You couldnt save up your resets of course, but if you wanted to test out a new configuration you would have to only wait a maximum of 24 hours.For a lot of players I imagine this is about the same number of resets they usually get anyway. Yes, a thousand times yes! Or, scale them. Levels 1-20 get one per level, 21-40 get 2, 41-60 get 3, and so on. Somehow, though, the resets should be increased. Have you thought about not limiting them at all, and letting people reset as often as they want to? Spoilers:Pretty sure its just the choices you make. Not sure about this one though. I got all 4 endings in the original, but Ive only beaten this one once. Wont be messing with it much either till the password error is fixed, cause I guess I have OCD, lol.But yeah, the other mode for the infinite skyscraper did unlock even though the game crashed. I cant imagine why yours doesnt crash at all though DD, heh. Ive tried everything I can think of. Ive uninstalled and re-installed in every configuration I can think of, messed around with settings, tried with and without controller, it just wont work. I cant see paying. I mean, lets face it, if you are at a level high enough that you have to pay, you have millions of rep anyway. Can someone remind me why the idea of unlimited resets was shot down in the first place? Im almost certain its come up before… It just seems so convenient. You could configure yourself optimally for the missions youll go on - more points in armor and less in weapons, so you can be a healer, or maxing out sneak and illusive while someone else maxes out a couple weapons, so you can get crates while they defend, and so on. Hey Aprone,I know I do this a lot it seems, hehehe, but thanks again for an awesome update and for all you do man. Its much appreciated. Havent posted on here in a while, was too lazy to log back in rofl.ok heres what I think: at my level, it is getting rather difficult to level. I dont even wanna imagine how hard it must be at chowys level lol. What I propose is this: have unlimited skill resets. Thatll be the best and awesomest plan, however Im not sure how feasible this is in terms of bandwidth consumed or possible game lag etc.if this isnt a problem then it would be awesome. We could also have it reset hourly, or maybe every 2 hours or something like that. Thing is, with the new defender missions, its impossible to do well on those at higher levels, because it requires either a lot of points on random skills, which will make our regular game play suffer, or you must specialize on a particular weapon, but 
 problem with that approach is youll probably never get this weapon when you play anyhow so its not the best approach. with regular resets, we can play according to the needed style at that particular time.
