You can do something like this:hours=float(raw_input(How many hours have you worked?))income=((rate*(hours-(hours-40))+(1.5*rate*(hours-40))*(hours0==True))That is going to fail if you use a non-numeric value for hours though.URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=174508#p174508

Re: Python and Functions

Unfortunately I dont know much Python, but to handle the problem of incorrect input in Java, you could use a try-catch block around the lines for input. Surely, Python has something similar. One approach would be to write a function that just handles numerical input, so you can avoid many try-catch blocks cluttering up your code.URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=174512#p174512

i discovered something interesting.in challenge mode, all attack buttons have a different tone when you press them. it is like a musical scale. i mean, square as a tone, triangle has a higher tone, circle higher, and x highest.it helps when you have to do special attacks, because with l1 the cpu does the challenge for you, you listen to the tones used and it is easier to figure out what button you must press.it is not a great thing for complex combos, but it can help a lot.URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=174528#p174528

Indeed. Thanks. I was actually going to wait until after getting the pokedex until laying out the menu, as to not dump confusing stuff on you guys. I know I get confused sometimes, and I know mostly where everything is. I just have to remember, that unlike the previous games, the menu doesnt reset the cursers position. Re: audio game programming help!

Jak, well if you are certain you want to begin with Python Id first suggest you go tohttp://www.python.organd download the Python runtime for Windows. In fact, do to the fact not everything for Python is Python 3 compatible I suggest possibly downloading both Python 2.7 and Python 3.4 to be able to switch back and forth between them for development purposes.Once you have the Python runtime/runtimes installed for Windows head over tohttp://docs.python.organd read the various free tutorials, users guides, and API documentation for Python. That should give you enough to begin building some console games in Python. Now, if you are looking for full blown audio games you have a choice to make. I mentioned before not everything is Python 3 compatible. Last I checked Pygame, the principle API gamers use for creating games in Python, is not yet Python 3 compatible, mean
ing if you go with Pygame you are stuck with Python 2.7 for the time being. That said, there is a newer alternative called Py-SDL2 which is based on SDL 2.0 and is Python 3 compatible. Moreover Py-SDL2 has a bunch of new features not available in Pygame such as force feedback support for joysticks, support for XInput on Windows 7/Windows 8, supports XAudio2, and a number of other things you may want to consider supporting in your audio games. As for your issue with BGT I am not certain what you mean by your keyboard stops working when you play a game by BGGT. If you are a Jaws user the problem could be a conflict between DirectInput and Jaws which is a well known problem. The solution in that case is to either unload Jaws or make sure the BGT keyboard hooks is properly initialized when the game starts up.URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=174510#p174510<

Re: request of advice about where to post a message

Hello and welcome. Slj is exactly right. if your announcing a new which is immediately available to download or play online you can do that in New releases, otherwise anything game related, proposed new projects, questions etc goes in general game discussion. this is done as a simple point of organization so that people in the community will always know where to find announcements about new games, and so that there is no confusion between a developer announcing a newly released title, and someone who merely has an idea or project in the works but hasnt got anything to play yet. No need to submit text in advance, things are not that formal, and If there is anything else your unsure about please ask or check in the site faq a copy of which is in this part of the forum and in general game discussion. All new game announcements are very welcome, and I can certainly say there are fans of the i
nquisitor on this forum, indeed the only reason Ive not tried the game yet myself is one of time.URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=174381#p174381

[Audiogames-reflector] King Games the Third!

2014-05-11 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — AG-News room: aaron

King Games the Third!

I tell yee a tale of heros and strife, from which the items appear thrice. The king I speak of could be considered a mith,Through times of danger, it is said he did live.A scroll with three words was uncovered, behold:Conflict, Dungeons and Zombies abode. And thus is the end of the rime. Weve got three items to report on today. The first, is conflict. Not just any, However. The audiogame known as Time of Conflict, by GMA Games, has received a major version upgrade to 2.0. Highlights include a world system with medieval and trek inspired scenarios to play in, many new maps, a bunch of new units, and even the ability to build worlds and units of your own. But thats not all. This upgrade introduces multiplayer to the fray. The full changelog and discussion can be found in this forum topic, and the game can be downloaded by clicking here.Next up, weve got dungeons, more specifically one dungeon. Kerkerkruip has received a major upgrade, this time to version 9. Highlights include a reworked reaction system which allows you to dodge, parry and roll under enemy attacks, sacrificing to the gods, more uses for grenades, stealth and extra content. You can read about the update in this forum thread, or you can check out and download the game on their brand new website. The last update we have concerns zombies. If you remember, we reported that Somethin Else, developers of iOS games such as Papa Sangre and The Nightjar, were looking for funds by way of a Kickstarter campaign for their next game, Audio Defence: Zombie Arena, even going so far to say on the page that if they failed to meet their goal, they may have to consider stopping development of Audiogames. Well, weve
got some bad news. The project didnt even reach half of its funding goal. However, there was a surprise in store. On the Audio Defence twitter feed, they mentioned that the game will still be released. No new info has been given besides that, so for now, well keep an eye and ear out, and if you use twitter, be sure to follow @audiodefence for the latest updates.Happy battling!URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=171998#p171998

[Audiogames-reflector] Guide for Playing Japanese Audiogames

2014-05-11 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Articles Room: bladestorm360

Guide for Playing Japanese Audiogames

Japanese Games Setup Guide:By Bladestorm360---IntroductionThis guide will cover, in detail, how to play japanese audio games without knowing a single bit of the language. It is my hope that after reading it, you will be able to pick up any untranslated japanese game and play it with no trouble. Japanese audio games are easily some of the best around, far above what weve got available in the english market, and I hate to see people missing out on playing these masterpieces. There are several utilities out there that make playing these games very possible without knowing the language at all, and this guide will show you what they are, and how to get and use them.Note that this translation method is not perfect. Because japanese grammar structure is so much different than english grammar, words are often scrambled and ocasionally mistranslated. I can tell you from experience though, that it is very possible to understand the storyline, puzzles and mechanics of these games with a great degree of accuracy. I have beaten every game created by these 3 developers, and have understood the storyline of them all. However, most of them can be browsed just using google translate. NyanChan will not allow you to download certain files through google translate, however. So you can either use instant translate, or browse to the download page with google translate, copy the link to the japanese website from there and find the link on the actual page that way.Setup:This will get you up and running with all of the japanese games. Some steps are fairly complex, so please only do what youre comfortable with. If something seems overcomplicated or you just dont want to mess with it, you shouldnt have to. Only the first 3 steps are necessary to play everything but the text games, all other steps are completely optional.1. Install NVDA. If youve never used it before, you may wish to read a bit of documentation or experiment to get a feel for the screen reader.2. Install the InstantTranslate AddOn package. If you have NVDA running, you can simply navigate to the directory you saved these in and press enter on it.3. Download the Textgame patch. This was initially only for the text games, but it helps with the regular games as well. This prevents you from having to install the japanese keyboard and IME, unless you want to.Once downloaded, unzip the patch somewhere, and then copy the hook.dll and Launch files into the folder of the game you want to play. Now make sure that the games executable is renamed to play. For many of the games, this is already the case. But if not, youll need to rename it for launch to work properly. Once done, run launch and the game will start.Note that if playing Morokumas Text Games, or if you want window titles or the first menu of Shadow Line to translate correctly, you will need to either change your system locale or run launch through AppLocale. More on this later. You should now have everything installed that you need to play games such as Bokurano Daiboukenn and Brave of Cloudia. However, there is one optional step that may help you out:4. Download and install ClipCopy. It installs like the other NVDA Addon Packages. You can now press f12 to copy the last spoken NVDA message to the clipboard. This is very useful for games like Bokurano Daiboukenn 3, and Shadow Line Full Voice, that start out attempting to auto-detect your screen reader. If this happens, text will not be automatically copied to the clipboard, and this can help you get to the game options so that you can set it to use the clipboard instead of a screen reader. This could also be used to

Re: BGT and Wine

King Gamer, that would be cool, but unfortunately the developers working on Orca have much bigger issues to deal with right now than implementing an OCR feature similar to Jaws and NVDA. I wish they did though as it would make a lot of things accessible that dont have hooks into the Linux accessibility APIs such as At-Spi2.Chris, unfortunately, until we get the gist of the error message there really isnt a good way to resolve the Sapi issues on your Wine setup. There is an alternative to MS Sapi and it is called Open SAPI, and I did manage to get that working on Wine for Linux way back when.URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=174513#p174513

[Audiogames-reflector] Alter Aeon: building a good warcaster (or mage)

2014-05-11 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Articles Room: thetruegamer

Alter Aeon: building a good warcaster (or mage)

The warcaster in Alter AeonNote:I use a lot of game terms. I suggest you are somewhat familiar with the game before reading this. What is a warcaster?A warcaster, by my definition, is a powerful mage who can handle soloing very well. This often means being a mage warrior, or mage thief, but it doesnt necessarily have to be so. As I said, it is a master of the elements who can handle a lot of things. What are the benefits of a warcaster? As I previously stated, a warcaster is an exceptionally good mage, meaning that if something goes down, she will probably be one of the survivors. A pure blaster mage, such as mage cleric or necro mage, will usually have poor hitpoints. This is of course depending on level, a level 32 mage and level 25 warrior is most likely having slightly lower hp than a level 36 mage, and only level 20 warrior, but which have higher levels all over. Then again, it comes down to what equipment youre wearing.Im providing this guide seen from my viewpoint and current understanding of the game, and things might change in the future, making this article irrelevant.I will try to make this article from how I made Elvina, my warcaster, and how I plan to make her in the future --- even more awesome than she already is, and you can join the party if youre willing to spend the time on it.Disclaimer: a good warcaster is hard to get up and running, but it is an interesting and powerful alternative to the other solo combinations. The beginning, what happens? If youve played other characters in Alter Aeon, you know the basics of running forward, doing quests, and warcasters are no different. You should learn some basic elemental damage spells, and monster lore, but try to save your practices.Actually, I take that back, do not save them. Spend them wisely … on stats. An example pulled from Elvinas adventures:You fail to cast the spell …You fail to cast the spell fireballYou conjure and throw a bright red fireball at the Headmaster! The headmasters punch *** devastates *** you!You fail to cast the spell …You conjure and throw a bright red fireball at the headmaster! His punch massacres you!I didnt put many practices into fireball, only one or two, but now I think Im very good at it, but I dont use it often. (reminds me, I need to use greater fireball more). This led to a few deaths because I couldnt kill my enemies fast enough, but eventually I become good enough at it that it was no longer an issue. However what I sacrificed in fireball, I spent on stats.I have my constitution at 26, and intelligence at 25, however I need to get wisdom up, its only 23.Dex is also another important factor, my dex right now is 20. Strength, as I plan to be able to hit soon, is not as important. Get it to 16 or something if you dont feel like hitting, and instead focus on charisma.Charisma is so overlooked, but I find it very important for a mage to be able to make the first move on the enemy, or actually, choose to not engage if it she so desires.I created Elvina for pk purposes, but I find I dont pk with her all that much, however that isnt to say she cant do it.It is all dependent on the mob or player, but the most powerful move I have right now is hand spell charge, which deals charge damage, as well as high zap, fire, and a little poison damage. I charge with sickening touch too, but Im low level necromancer, so I dont deal much damage.Equipment:Eventually, I want to get a whole bunch of equipment sets, but these are what I have in my eqset list right now:magemana: a magecast set maxing out magecast, and mana. It does not focus on regen at all.Note: I am going to make a mageregen set, for magecast with regen. Right now I have some regen pieces instead of mana pieces in my cast set.regen at all, it is for long bursts of blasting.Mageregen is useful for killing mobs fast, or when its dangerous to switch sets. A perfect example here is the hobgoblin mound on Archais, where the amount of enemies are overwhelming, and if I use regen, my spells arent that powerful, and if I go into magemana, my mana will run out eventually and I will be swarmed. Mageregen here.Pk: if youre not into pk, you dont need this. It consists of a lot of randoms, and while Im not casting at highest castlevel, I have many different saves, and can stand my ground against other players attacks.Regen: a perfect regen set has good manaregen, and does not pull too much from your hp regen. Aside from the obvious, regen should also have as much mana as possible, so that you dont have to switch into magemana and still have to regenerate 50 more mana, like I do. Also, keep in mind, a mana regen piece with mana regen 3.0 might actually be better than mana regen 4.0. In your regen, your int and wis should be as high as possible. Try to wear different pieces if you arent sure, then check your regen and mana, and decide whats best for you.As a general tip for all classes: always try to look for new and good equipment, even

Fell free to distribute it among friends and post it on your website, but don’t you can’t change it or make any profit from it. Super Liam! Is the property of L-works. Intro and Game Story Computer and video games have of course been around for many a year, but unfortunately most of them have left fully twenty percent or more of the American population (and that’s just the American one), in the dust. I refer of course to the percentage who are blind or visually impaired. I mean, it’s kinda hard to actually beat a game when you can’t see what you’re doing. That doesn’t mean you can’t still have hours of mindless fun playing, but when you can’t actually make progress in a game because of that one relatively minor handicap it tends to get a bit frustrating after a while, even a little depressing. While there have been computer games for the blind for years, many of these were rudementary at best and required external speech synthesisers like the old Echo II in order to run properly. Now though, thanks to more sophisticated technology, it’s possible to make more involved games for us blind folks. Heck, it’s even possible for us blind folks to make our own games…provided we have the know-how. But that’s not what I’m here to talk about. I’m actually here to attempt to guide you through what I’m beginning to suspect is one of the most addicting and enjoyable audio games I’ve encountered thus far in my quest to try as many of those currently in existence as I possibly can. This game is L-works’ Super Liam! Which as far as I know is the first side scroller game based purely on sound imagery. Super Liam! Tells the story of an average teenager named…well…Liam. Liam was, as I said, just your average kid. He went to school, came home, did his homework and played basketball…and probably spent time with his girlfriend as well I’d imagine. But little did he know his life was about to change drastically, for an ancient evil was reawakening. The evil robot X1, vanquished twenty years ago by the scientist Dr. Quark, had once again returned to Earth for another attempt at domination. Only problem was, his ship crashe landed on the planet. He wasn’t too upset about this…well he was pretty miffed about it at first, but he realized that he could still take over the Earth. First though, he would take his long awaited revenge against Dr. Quark. To that end he created a portal to a world of his own creation, planning to send his enemy there, believing the vicious beasts and monsters would make an end to him. As for Dr. Quark, he learned of X1’s return and knew what it would mean for humanity. But he himself had aged in the twenty years and more since his battle against the evil robot. He resolved to find a young person to do the job. HE settled on Liam, an adventurous young man whom he hoped would be strong enough to triumph over X1. He gave the young lad three things to help him on his way, a superhero costume to make him look cool, a laser gun to defend himself against the minions of X1, and a communicator so that they could keep in touch throughout the mission. The scientist then sent Liam on his first mission, to investigate the place where X1’s ship had crashed. Before he could reach it though, he was sucked into X1’s portal and transported to another world… And that’s where you take over. Guide Liam through seven levels of nonstop action until you reach your final confrontation with X1. Frequently Asked Questions This section will contain common questions. Just for fun, here are some that might come up…and of course the answers.Q. Why doesn’t Gamefaqs know about this game?A. Probably ‘cuz they don’t know about audio games.Q. What do I need to play Super Liam?A. Windows 98 or higher, DirectX 7 or later. I don’t remember just how much memory they recommend.Q. Where do I find it?A. You can download it at www.l-works.net.Q. Well, the guns you get from the shops really arent that great no matter how much your attack goes up. The super buster blade which has a base attack of 3000 has trouble even with monsters in stage 23 if you use it by itself without conjunction with other weapons. Id say the most important spots to put points are attack, defense, stamina and hp. Tech is something that comes in handy after your first playthrough since theres no more shops to buy things from and you cna then unlock more weapons, but far as I see its not that important if you have it where its at now.URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=174573#p174573

Re: Narcissu 1st & 2nd - An visual novel accessible for the blind!

The patch outputs text to the clipboard like Skullgirls. To get it to work, you run the patch file instead of running the original executable. I just made a shortcut on my desktop to run that one. Clipreader also has to be running, of course. Also, Seal needs to post the new patch file as there was an update. Here is the link that he sent me, hopefully it is still available:https://t.co/KZnNeoZwUpThats the Twitter shortened link to the DropBox file.Regarding other visual novels, a VN developer replied to me on Twitter that the developer who made this patch for Narcissu is on the Steam forums and that he hopes to make a patch for his VN. Apparently he makes a Scifi economic VN. Still, Im glad the word is getting out about this. The term visual in visual novel means so much. From the music to the way the story is written it could be enjoyable for us too. Now all we need to be accessible and adaptive are

[Audiogames-reflector] Core Exiles screen layout guide

2014-05-11 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Articles Room: Dark

Core Exiles screen layout guide

Basic information.Core exiles is a complex game, and there are a lot of pages with a lot of information on them. Luckily, the page layout is extremely logical and free from adds, flash panes, popups and other nasties that make web navigation with screen readers difficult. nevertheless the shear amount of information and different screens to get used to can be overwhelming at first, so this guide is provided as a general explanation of some of the more commonly used screens and their layout, so that you can start straight in exploring the six galaxies rather than spent time exploring the games interface.i will try and make this as non program specific as I can, and thus of general use to any screen reader user, though if it becomes supernova specific in parts I appologize. i would recommend that you familiarize yourself with your screen readers ability to navigate around standard internet pages, and interact with features such as dropdowns, links, tables, button
s, headings and edit areas, sinse quickly knowing how to move around such things will vastly increase your speed and ease at playing the game. Also, although once you understand the game and its layout you can perform activities such as mining, salvaging and combat extremely quickly, Core exiles is a game where there is no need to rush. Taking the time to read pages thoroughly is usually a much better idea than clicking away like a demon and hitting the wrong thing by mistake (indeed, youll conserve more ship fuel that way). Note that this is just intended as a guide to the games display and not how to play it, for that see the various topics in the help and guides section. Top and bottom. Like many games and indeed not a few other programs, at the top and bottom of the Ce screen are a number of stats, lables and controls that remain visible most of the time, which display vital information and give you access to some important game funct
ions. Though not available everywhere in the game, most of the screens have these, so explaining what they are and roughly what they do is a good place to begin. At the top of the screen is your current location ie, what planet, starbase etc your ship is at. under this is the name of the star system your in, its faction and law level and whether you are currently docked or undocked. benieth this is the news ticker, which displays some lines about what is happening around the six galaxies generally as well as within your local area, both in terms of what your fellow captains are up to as well as events that happen in the Ce world, (this is where headlines written in the monthly headlines competition appear). Under this are two dropdown list boxes, one left and one right which will be the first things you come to in the game if you hit tab. these let you access various useful screens for specific aspects of the game, some handy tools and options. The f
irst, or left hand box contains options for viewing general information about the game and your account. possibly the single most useful item in this dropdown is the top one refresh data In ce, using your brousers refresh function (say by hitting F5 in Internet Explorer), is disabled to prevent people exploiting the game, and will lead to an error if you try it. therefore, the refresh data option exists instead. This is an incredibly helpfull option for quick navigation with a screen reader, sinse it will instantly get you back to the travel or promenade screen, and is often quicker and easier to find than looking for the exit option of whatever screen your on because it is the first item in the first dropdown you get to when tabbing through the page. I myself use it a lot when buying items, reparing my ship or refining ore, and indeed often find myself hitting ctrl home and then tab when I want to refresh pages outside Ce out o
f reflex! Other note worthy options in that first dropdown include the ce data repository (cedr), where you can view information about most items and equipment found in the game, and the galaxy locator for looking up the locations of planets, starbases and settlements.the second, or right hand dropdown lets you get to a lot of screens about your current activities in the game. these include viewing details about current types of missions you might be on such as combat, federation of mining (fom), or npc missions, also have access to various types of ongoing activities like viewing your extractors, mechs, pet, and drones, this is also where you can activate profession booster packs or put a contract on the general buyers markit.at the bottom of the top pannel, under those dropdowns is your player name and various stats such as experience, shield, armor, hull, cargo credits on hand and fuel. The names of these are graphics, but are labeled, however knowing that th
eyre graphics can also be a quick navigation method (I find hitting g to get straight to my players stats very fast on several occasions). Being

[Audiogames-reflector] How to manually register Swamp

2014-05-11 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Articles Room: SLJ

How to manually register Swamp

Introduction:This guide tells you step by step how to register the .dll file manually which is required to play Swamp. This works in Windows 7 and 8, both 32 bit and 64 bit. There are a few 64 bit users who cant get this to work by following the guide. sorry, I dont know what you can do there. There are other ways to do this than Ive described here, but I chose to describe it in this way, to make sure you can master it no madder what keyboard layout and language youre using, because the backslash key is placed differently on the different keyboard layouts. Here is what you have to do:Copying the dx7vb.dll file:If youre running Windows 32 bit, you have to copy the dx7vb.dll file into the following folder: c:\windows\system32.If youre running the 64 bit version, you have to copy the file into: c:\windows\syswow64.How do I check if I have 32 bit or 64 bit?Thats simple. Locate your C drive, open
up the Windows folder and see if you have a folder called Syswow64. If you have this folder, then youre running 64 bit. If you dont have it, youre running 32 bit. Please note that system32 is in both operating systems.Using the command prompt:When you have copied the file to the folder, you have to open the command prompt. You need to do this the following way:1: Find the command prompt in your start menu. In Windows 7 its in all programs, and in Windows 8, its somewhere in the programs list.2: When youve found the prompt, then press shift f10 to right click on it.3: Arrow down to Run as administrator and press enter.4: Type: cd.. and then press enter. Remember to press periode twice.5: Type cd.. again and press enter.6: type cd windows and press enter.7: type either cd system32 or cd syswow64 and press enter.8: type regsvr32 dx7vb.dll and press enter. You should now get a message
telling the file has been registered successfully.9: Type exit and then press enter to exit the window, and youre done.I hope that works for you. If not, I hope Aprone can give any advice on what to do.URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=160688#p160688

Escape from Marpoo ColsingClosing Legal Stuff This document is copyright 2004 and is the property of me, Walker Boh Ohmsford AKA Bryan Peterson. You can post it on your website but don’t change anything. I’ll make any changes as they are needed. Hunter itself is the property of Justin Daubenmire and all the good folks at BSC Games who spent many a late night programming the game for us optically challenged folks. Intro Computer games have of course been around for many a year, and as each generation became more sophisticated, so did the graphics. Unfortunately, this left fully 20% of America’s population in the dust, so to speak. Though there were computer games for the blind back in the early days of computers, these were extremely boring (or could quickly become so even if they weren’t right at first), and required an external speech synthesiser in order to run properly. Now, what with the existence of many different programming languages and DirectX technology, there are now computer games designed not only for blind people, but by them as well. BSC Games’ Justin Daubenmire is a case in point, as he happens to be blind (or optically challenged as he’s been known to put it). One of the first audio games I ever encountered was BSC Games’ Hunter, which is a completely sound based adventure game that put me fondly in mind of such Atari games as Jungle Hunt. Only thing is, I think Hunter is even more challenging…Ok so Jungle Hunt really isn’t all that hard if you know what you’re doing. I must say that with a limited budget and limited resources, BSC Games really made the best with what they had at the time, and it shows. The sound effects are simply superb. Hunter features ten action packed levels, from sneaking through a jungle to avoid a mysterious Voodoo Doctor to fighting off swarms of venomous insects. These are just two of the ten levels you’ll encounter. You’ll have to read on to learn more. One really cool feature of all BSC Games is that they allow you to demo all their games before buying them. You download the free demo, which allows you to play the first four levels on easy difficulty (some allow you to play all three but not all of them do), for a limited time. If you want the full game, you must purchase a license. To do this, go to the Register (insert game name here) screen and click the Copy Product ID button to copy the product ID to the clipboard. Then go to BSC Games and click on the game you’re trying to order. Follow the instructions given to order your license and, if you choose to, the CD as well. Frequently Asked Questions This section will contain all those questions people send in. Here are just a few that could possibly be asked.Q. Where do I buy Hunter and how much is it?A. Hunter can be purchased at www.BSCGames.com. It generally costs about $30.00, ten bucks more if you request the game on CD.Q. Optically Challenged?A. That’s a phrase from Justin Daubenmire, the head honcho of BSC Games.Q. Why doesn’t Gamefaqs have listings for Hunter?A. Probably ‘cuz they don’t know about it. It’s a shame, really. They’re really missing out on something good.Q. How do I complete (insert level here)?A. Read below or check the game docs.Q. What are the system requirements?a. Windows 98 or higher, DirectX 8 or later. Check the documentation and the Hunter page at BSC Games for more information. Q. What’s the latest version of Hunter?A. Right now it’s v1.2. The Main Menu When you first start Hunter, you get a menu of options. Here they are in order.Start Adventure: Do I really need to explain that one?Random Adventure: Lets you play the game in a different order.Test Speaker Settings: You should always run this diagnostic when you purchase a BSC Game for the first time. It will help you make sure your speaker orientation is correct. Just press enter on this option and follow the instructions.Learn Game Sounds: This is another one you should use before you start. It lets you learn what each of the game’s sounds mean. They’re divided into levels. Press Enter on Learn Game Sounds and the game will guide you from there.Final Score: Lets you hear the final score of the last game you played.View Top Ten Scores: Lets you view your local top ten scores.Post Score to BSC Games: Lets you send your last score to BSC Games’ web site. If your score is high enough, you’ll get a spot on the top ten. Note that this is only available to registered users of Hunter and not those with demos. Quit Game: Had enough for one day? This is the option for you. Walkthrough Before we start I should say that when you first

Re: latin

Hi Tom. You are likely correct on history being the reason that a person chooses a certain belief or pattern, although with some rabbid atheists Ive met, (and of course being at a university Ive met more than a few), it is often simply that they have never seen the bennificial side of religion or have encountered religious people whos ideas of faith and God are not so simplistic. A great example of this line of thinking was Arthur C clarkes novel the mountains of paradise, which involve communication with an alien probe who gives humanity plans for advanced technology. In a very offhand section of the novel (which is actually much more concerned with that technology and the building of a space elivator), Clarke describes a bishop transmitting the entirety of Thomas Aquinas meditations to the probe to recieve the answer Bad data or something like that. What however struck me about this episode, is that Clarke imagines
uot;aquinas as the pinacle of religious discourse. Aquinas was both a great theologian and schollar of his day, and indeed furthered the course of what we would now think of as mathematics and science, but the idea that all religious philosophy has remained static sinse the thirteenth century is ridiculous! sinse while undoubtedly there are people who still maintain beliefs that havent changed (like all those religious fundamentalists who are convinced on the 6000 year age of the earth which I believe was actually a scientific guess from the roman schollar Ptolomee). It often strikes me tthat a lot of rabbid atheists (as well as needing a good dose of philosophy of science), see religion as soemthing of a straw man and actively disregard the active faith and religious experiences of mystics, preferring to characterize all religious belief as that sort of easily answered fundamentalism. As regards suffering contradicting belief in God, while I do understand
the position, at the same time it depends entirely on what you believe God to be capable of. I was never taught that God would literally intervine in the world, or that if I prayed for something it would automatically happen. Indeed when I! lost all of the vision of my right eye when i was seven in a massive expulsive hemmerage during an operation, which not only lost me most of my vision but also caused extreme and severe pain, I was never told to pray to God to make it better. Indeed the local vicar (himself having lost a leg in the war), came and gave me communian and talked to me about things. I was told bad things happen, but God would be there if I needed. As it turned out, that prooved literally true according to experiences, and something I remembered over the next few years, both when very alone at my specialist school and afterwards through some very bad circumstances.Probably the best quote Ive ever heard on this subject was at one meeting at Beth Shalom, a Br
itish Memorial for victims of the Shoa (holocaust). Two survivers of the concentration camps were debating this. one chap felt (much as you do), that there could possibly be no God with what had happened to them in the concentration camps. he challenged the lady, who still maintained a belief in God and was a Practicing Jew where was God in the camps? to which she replied I knew where God was, I had no problem with where God was. The real question is where was man! Of course my current problem is that I am not so sure anymore of that relationship to God , however I would never say it doesnt exist for some people or that I didnt have it at one time, my own issue at the moment is that I am no longer convinced God actively cares about anyone who isnt in touch with God, and if you lose that communication well Tough Lukc.Regarding science and conspiracy theories and such, well while its absolutely true Ive seen a lo
t of dud advertising and the like, at the sme time even major scientists can be guilty of bad science, indeed when I was studdying philosophy of a science a friend of mine (himself with extremely good qualifications in physics maths and chemistry), used to read the new scientist and point out articals that fell fowl of say experimental regress or making unfalsifyable claimes. To give one example, last year I watched a program on colour and psychology. One psychologist on the program (not a presenter, a qualified doctor of psychology), postulated that different colours would change peoples perceptions of time, that red, being associated with blood and fire and such would make people perceive time to pass more quickly, while blue, being associated with calm and cold would have the opposite effect. They took three groups of participants, and asked each to go individually into a coloured room and time how long they thought a minute was. One group went into a red room
, the other a blue one, the control group into a plane black room. The prediction was that the group in the blue room would estimate a minute as longer because they perceived time more

Injustice: Gods among us: Game guide for visually impaired people

Injustice: Gods Among us, Ultimate edition: A guide for visually impaired people.Written by SLJ.Introduction.Welcome to my guide for visually impaired people to the very accessible mainstream fighting console and pc game call: Injustice: Gods among us. this game will not describe all features, characters, moves etc. in the game. thats already described very well at other places. This guide will hopefully introduce blind people to the game, and learn blind players to master the game without any help from sighted people. My hope is that blind people like me can just buy the game, read this guide and start playing all accessible things in the game, without any help from sighted people to read the menus or describe anything at all.I will go through the very basics, so hopefully blind people who have never played any mainstream console game before can jump right in, and start playing the game after some practicing. Please note that this guide is written out from the Ultimate ps3 version, and Im not sure about if there are any differences between the different versions of the game, when it comes to the menus. This guide is written out from what Ive read in Berserkers guide onwww.gamefaqs.comDirect link:http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/672472-inju … faqs/66904Without this totally awesome and fantastic guide, this guide would have been nothing, and i would never have had any chance to get into the game so fast.At the time Im writing this introduction, I have only had the game for two days, and I already feel this guide for blind gamers is very much needed, because this game is simply awesome! For this reason, my wish is to give so many blind gamers as possible the chance to experience this game, no madder if they have sighted assistance or not. I have no sighted assistance, so it have been pretty difficult for me to get the menus written and other details which is important for blind gamers to know.My goal is to keep building on this guide together with other blind gamers, until every single feature which is accessible in this game for every console has been mentioned and described in an easy way, so all gamers understand how it works, no madder how many experiences the gamer have when it comes to console gaming. If you have any tips, details, typos, wrong grama you wants to inform me about, feel free to let me know in the simular topic in the General games discussion room, or by sending me a mail by clicking the mail link by this post. Please, dont send me private messages using this forum. I dont check those very often, and the forum doesnt alert me when I receivve new messages.English is not my first language, but Im doing my best. So for this reason, you might find some misspelled words or any other kind of wrong english.I hope youll enjoy the guide. What is Injustice: Gods among us?Injustice: Gods among us is a 2D fighting game, made by NetherRealms Studio, the same company behind the Mortal kombat games. the controls are much easier to master in my opinion. For those who have never played any mainstream games before, Ill tell you that 2D means: Left, right, up and down. that means you can walk forward which is either left or right depending on which way the character is facing, and the character can jump up and duck. All this is fully accessible to handle in Injustice, thanks for the great stereo sounds in the game. The game offers a long storyline to play through, which mostly takes 6 hours depending on how well you do in the battles, practice mode where you can practice all attacks and moves for each characters in the game, battleing in many different ways, online gameplay, Star labs missions which is, as far as I know not accessible and a ton of trophies to unlock. So even when all features in the game isnt fully playable, Ill say the game have a ton of hours of fun, depending on how much youre willing to learn how it all works.Accessibility modeNetherRealms Studio, the company behind this game has been super awesome and made something which is called Accessibility mode, which can be enabled in the settings in the game. How is how the accessibility mode works:When player 1 is nearby an interactable, a low beep sound is heard. When player 2 is nearby an interactable, a higher beep sound is heard. the beep sound is heard from the interactables persission in stereo, so you can easily get an idea about where the interactable is placed on the arena.Read more about how the Accessibility mode got added into the game at the following link:http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?id=11640In the pc version of the game, the accessibility mode can also be turned on by editing the options.ini file in the games directory.the basicsHere, Ill try my very best to explain the basics of the game out from a blind persons perspective:Player 1 and player 2:At the beginning of the fight, in round 1, player 1 is always to the left of the arena, facing to the right, and

[Audiogames-reflector] The unstoppable's guide to the road to rage

2014-05-11 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Articles Room: Omar Alvarado

The unstoppable's guide to the road to rage

So, your playing against a friend who is better than you on rtr. And you have just about had it, and... Seriously. One more kill and you swear for a few minutes. This guide will teach you how to own said friend.First off, play with headphones. Playing with earphones really isnt going to be good enough for this situation. You need as good a frequency response as you can get. This way, you can hear the enemy a lot better. Secondly, if your playing against a cheater, this guide means nothing. None of the ideas and or steps apply, since most cheaters will simply spin in circles while firing a certain weapon. Now, on with the guide! This guide assumes you have a basic working knowledge of rtr. If you dont, please consult the included release notes.Firstly, know the map. This is the most important rule for playing any game that includes a detailed map. This also makes it easier to run away, should you be running low on health and ammunition.Next,
have as much as a distraction free environment as you can. No, dont go playing rtr while at a loud house. Try to have as few applications running that generate sound. If you get caught off guard because of your e-mail program letting you know you have a new e-mail, you are most certainly done for.Run circles around the enemy. Seriously. No joke, this works wonders, especially if the enemy is slow to react. You can also get in some cheap shots if you do it right. Along these same lines, if your feeling daring, you can sometimes shoot the enemy from behind. They wont even see it coming. At least if you do it right.Know where your weapons are. I cant stress this enough, but know what numbers draw what weapons. If you have a mouse, using the scroll wheel allows you to cycle through the weapons you have collected.Race the enemy to an item. So say there is a health increase that just so happened to appear right next to both you and the enemy. If t
he item is far away enough, you might be able to pull this off. Run for the item, but instead of simply running, turn 90 degrees either left or right, then side dive in the direction you were facing before you turned. Do this enough, and you might just have the health increase. Also, along these same lines, if you really wanted to do this, use an automatic weapon for this next step. Let the enemy have the item, however, since the enemy is far too busy to pay attention to you, now is your time to get in a few cheap shots. Aim your weapon at the item, and most likely you have a lock on the enemy. This wont always work, however.Decide if it is a good idea to reload before the next battle or not. This can save you time, and health. If you dont, while you reach for another magazine, the enemy has that much more time to target you. Find a good hiding spot, and call it your reloading area. Reload and exchange weapons if you need to.Scout out hiding spots. Wouldn
9;t it be nice if you could suddenly appear from what seemed like out of nowhere? If you find some hiding spots, you could do just that. This also applies with my first tip. But one thing. Dont stay there for too long! And also, dont go telling the entire world your in said hiding spot. These tips should now be enough for you to own your friends on rtr. However, I did not cover team death match. Enjoy!URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=157441#p157441

[Audiogames-reflector] Three-D Velocity: walkthrough

2014-05-11 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Articles Room: paddy

Three-D Velocity: walkthrough

WARNING! Please note that some parts of this walkthrough may spoil the game, so continue reading at your own risk! Also, note that some parts of this walkthrough, especially the part which explains how to defeat the boss, only work with TDV1, but its basically the same procedure. I will update this article as soon as I played through the mission in TDV2.Three-D Velocity CAN be very frustrating, so you should turn it off when you think youre getting some kind of agressive, for instance if youve been killed for the third time. Better close the game, forget about it for a while, and if you feel you could give it another shot, go ahead, but be concentrated though. This article is divided into two main parts and describes how to play Three-D Velocitys mission mode. You should follow those instructions carefully:Step1
: Head to the island. At the beginning, change your course to something around 60 degrees. You will also get a great view when flying about 3 up to 4 feet, once youre on the island. Make sure your airspeed is something around 600 knots so you wont waste too much fuel.Tip: If you throttle up till the afterburners kick in, press down arrow once to turn off your afterburners againStep2: Once you are on the island, lock on the training grounds. If you cannot find them, increase your height. Make sure you dont fly over 5 feet. Because the training grounds are heavily guarded, it is recommendable you tag the object with an LTS, once you are close enough. Then turn around and fire a cruise missile.Step3: Were done here, so lets head over to the airbase and do the same procedure. Destroy the fighters and head over to the aircraft carier, were safe at the moment.NOTE: Do not waste a refueler if you ca
n get to the aircraft carier safely, especially if you are close to the carier (something around sector u20).Step4: Head to the power plants. Use a cruise missile to destroy it and get rid of those choppers!Step5 (This is optional): Depending on how much integrity you have, you can call a refueler, because the way to the aircraft carier is way too long. Also, fighters will appear randomly.Step6: Get yourself to the bridge and destroy it. You can use a cruise missile or you just quickly fly over it and fire your guns. However, its not recommendable, because you could be hit by projectiles.Step7 (optional, but highly recommended!): On your way to the radar stations, you could land on the aircraft carier and replenish your aircraft.Step8: Once you (optionally) replenished your Aircraft, make your way to the Radar stations. Destroy both of them.NOTE: Do not waste any of your cruise missiles here,
it is recommendable to use your guns. Ill explain why in a moment...How to defeat Julius Brutus, also known as Dark BlazeWARNING! If you dont want to spoil the whole game, you should miss this section at once.Step1: Make sure youre facing away from dark blaze, so hes at about six or seven o clock. Use the afterburners and dont worry about the incoming missiles from behind at once. There may be multiple choppers in front of you. Actually, theyre harmless in the first stage, but you should take them out when theyre in front of you.Step2: Once you hear the command Go in for the kill! or Fire!, make a high-G turn and place an LTS. Turn around and fire a cruise missile, they will cause the most damage. Once the missile hit, do the same procedure again. Once you hear Get outa there! or Break off your attack!, make a hig
h-G turn so Dark Blaze is at 6 o clock and get away from him.Step3: Make sure Brutus is behind you. Do NOT fire a cruise missile while he attacks you. He has the ability to teleport to the left/right of you and the missile would go somewhere else and if it doesnt hit anything, you wont be able to fire any more cruise missiles for a while. So make sure you only fire cruise missiles if youre sure Brutus would not appear elsewhere to attack you and avoid the missile.Step4: Depending on where exactly you are located, at least at 1 pounds of fuel, call a refueler, which will also equip you with weapons, should you run out.Step5: Another problem is getting to the refueler. If youre not facing the aircraft carier (something around sector U22), the refueler is coming from behind you. To pass Brutus aircraft, you can either wait for Go in for the kill! and just turn around and keep going. This metho
d is a very risky one, because the missiles he fired before might still move towards you and would not self destruct in time. Otherwise, Brutus could suddenly start attacking you and youre history. On the other hand you could try the following:1. Bank two times to the left/right.2. Depending on which direction you are facing, wait till the missiles fly across you and faid out.3. Wait till DarkBlaze is located at right behind you again and bank two more in the direction you were banking before.4. Now, locate the refueler...You could also land on the carier, but this is very

Well guys, Im currently on 24-4. first a question on that level, what am I supposed to do there? Im having some issues killing the enemies due to the fact Im not sure how to use the warp panels. there appear to be a ton of them, and there are usually two of them very close together. so what must I do here? also is it just me, or is the boss healing itself? thats some cheap tactic if so hahahaha. Another more importan question is, should I move on to 25 with my current stats? here they are:hp: 4860stamina: 1141attack: 404defense: 386technology: 110I also have 341 points yet to assign to anything. any recommendations on what I should put them on? I noticed attack and defense arent doing much good any longer, enemies are still damaging me for the same amount, and for attack Im guessing I maxed the damage output for my various weapons. must I put tons of points into defense for it to make a difference, or am I mis

I also noticed the megaton hammer doesnt have these restrictions, which is a reason Im considering upgrading my stamina a bit more. are there more weapons without these horrible caps? I think I only have a few of the secret ones, so if you guys can help a bit with some new weapons I should be getting and/or strategies on which stats I should upgrade, let me know. [Audiogames-reflector] Tips for gaming on a Mac in VM Ware Fusion

2014-05-11 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Articles Room: SLJ

Tips for gaming on a Mac in VM Ware Fusion

Introduction:This article is written to give some tips on how to make gaming on a virtual Windows pc the best experience ever. Some people say you cant play Windows games effectively on a virtual machine on a Mac, but I tell you this is not true. There are a few games where the virtual machine doesnt react fast enough, but I have played most audio games with success on a virtual machine, and I would like to share my experiences on how to do that.I assume you have installed a working Windows on a virtual machine on your Mac running Fusion and you know how to start and stop your virtual machine. Ill not go into details on how to do that, but might mention you need to do that to access some important settings in Fusion. If you have any comments, any tips, any problems by doing some of the stuff Im mentioning in the article, any typos, any grammatical stuff you want to have changed or anything else to say, then feel free to drop me a mail by clicking the mail link in this post or in my profile to get in touch with me. Please dont send me private messages using the forum. I always forget to check those, and the forum doesnt alert by a mail or any message when you get a new private message.Well, lets get started. Enjoy a pretty long article:Switching between Fusion and the other programs on your Mac:Yeah, you already know how to do this I know, but Ill mention this anyway, because there is something which might have pissed you off for a while which Ill try to explain:As you properly know, command tab switches between your open programs or applications. However, when switching from an application to Fusion and your virtual machine, you might experience some weird lag. This is normal. Dont panic and dont press any button for at leased 3 seconds or so, because thatll make the lag even more worse. Instead, just wait 3 seconds, and it should react normal again. In a virtual machine, the alt key is the option key, which means you have to press option tab to do alt tab. This might take some time to get used to, when command tab switches between the applications on your Mac, and option tab switches between the opened windows on your virtual machine. You already properly know that if youve installed your Windows, but just mentioning for others who dont know this.Ill always recommend you to turn off Voiceover when using a virtual machine. Please note that the command key is your Windows key in Fusion, so what happens when you do command f5 to turn off Voiceover? Voiceover will be turned off on your Mac, and youll open up the start menu in Windows, and get the focus away for whatever running game you might have in focus. So, for that reason, I sometimes first turn off Voiceover, and then switches to Fusion by pressing command tab to avoid this. However, that requires you fully understand how command tab works on the Mac, which Ill describe very shortly with an example. In Mac OSX, you can easily arrange in what order your applications are in. That means if you have iTunes, VLC player or whatever media player running in the background, you can kind of put this away, if safari and Fusion only is what you need to work with for now.So, to rearrange your apps you can do the following:1: Hold down the command key and press the tab key to safari, and then release the keys.2: Hold down the command key again, and press the tab key to Fusion, and then release the keys. Now, when you quickly press command tab, youll only switch between Safari and Fusion. Really handy trick if you wanna work with safari on your Mac, while doing other stuff on your virtual machine. this is also very handy if you wanna stop Voiceover before switching to Fusion. In this way, you know youll switch to Fusion when pressing command tab, instead of switching to whatever other random application.Full screen mode:Its always a good idea to run games and your virtual machine in general in full screen. Please note full screen reacts differently on different computers. If the machine doesnt run in full screen, you might experience focusing issues. For some reason, the full screen mode suddenly change how it reacts on my computer. That means when I switch back to Fusion after having worked with other programs on my Mac, my focus is not on the virtual machine but in the list of virtual machines. Then I choose single view instead. Others are experiencing that differently, so you might have to play around with this a bit. Then, suddenly, my Fusion reacts differently, and then I switch back to the full screen view again. You can choose between the different views by going to the menubar (VO m,) open up the view menu and either choose single window or full screen. There are other ways to do that as well, but mentioning all those ways might just end up in confusion. If you cant press VO m to open up the menubar in Fusion, you can press ctrl f2 or ctrl FN f2 instead, depending on your keyboard settings on your Mac. Full screen view

when it first came out, i understand perfectly that.calamity trigger, the first game, had a great music, good sounds, only good ones haha, but its biggest problem was that the story mode consisted in dialogues interchanged with writen text. but in continuum shift and now in chrono phantasma, the story is mostly dialogues with real speech, some anime cutscenes and lots of fights.in the arcade mode, there are some pre determined battles with long dialogues and it really adds to the general game, plus the endings are also dubbed.i can make a recording of cp if you want.URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=174523#p174523

[Audiogames-reflector] Bryan P's guide to Monkey Business

A Final Statement Intro Welcome one and all, to my walkthrough for what has got to be one of the most addicting computer games for the blind that are currently available. I refer, of course, to Monkey Business, a product of Draconis Entertainment. This title has passed through two other companies’ hands before finally landing squarely, and with a monkey’s indignant screech, in Draconis’ lap. I refer to ESP Softworks and Adora Entertainment, both of which are no more. But thanks to Draconis, those who didn’t manage to download and play Adora’s and ESP’s excellent titles can now do so. I’ve been a registered user of Monkey Business for about two years now, and as I said it’s got to be one of the most addicting games I’ve ever played. Like BSC Games’ Hunter, Monkey Business plunges you into ten levels, each of which is as different as possible from the previous one. Fortunately though, you don’t have a whole new set of keystrokes to learn for each level in Monkey Business, although occasionally you will be required to use other keys. But the rich, immercive and above all varied audio environments are some of the best I’ve heard to date. Just take a listen to the jungle level and you’ll hear what I mean. So why am I telling you all this, you might be asking. Well as I said this is going to be a complete walkthrough of the game. I’ll attempt to help you through all ten levels of…wel maybe not terror, but certainly bizarre, witty humor and plenty of insanity. So let’s get on with this, shall we? Legal Stuff This document is the property of me, Bryan Peterson. You may host it on your web site as long as it remains unaltered. I plan to submit this to www.audiogames.net and probably to Draconis as well if they’ll take it, so you’ll always know where to find it. Monkey Business itself is the property of Draconis Entertainment. The Monkey Business Story Oh no! Dr. Wobble’s hatched an evil, sinister, wicked, diabolical plot! It all started when you, Mr. Smith, went into work. You’re an assistant for a whacky inventor named Professor Smegal, and it’s your first day on the job. Upon entering the lab, however, you find that it’s been trashed. Worse, the plans for Smegal’s new teleporter are gone. Even worse still, the prototype teleporter in his office is inoperable. And that’s not even the worst of it. After answering the phone and learning of Dr. Wobble’s involvement, not to mention the fact that every last monkey save one has escaped from the lab, you are tasked by your boss to go on a quest to round up the monkeys and ultimately bring Wobble to justice. Why, we wonder, doesn’t Smegal do this himself? Oh well, if he did there wouldn’t be a game for us, now would there? And even if there was, it wouldnt be as much fun. The Controls I won’t list all of them, since the manual is very thorough about that. I’ll list the basics. The controls in this game may seem a little dawnting at first since they use keys that aren’t often used in audio games. But they’re actually not that hard to learn. Here are enough to get you started.Up Arrow: Walk forward. Hold for continuous motion.Down arrow: Walk backward. Same as Up arrow.Left Arrow: Tap to make a small turn to the left.Right Arrow: Same as left except to the right.Alt: Hold with either Up or Down to run.Left Control: Hold and press Up to jump. If you press Down, smith will crouch and remain crouched as long as you hold the keys. You can also press Control in conjunction with Left or Right to change the direction you’re facing.Left Shift: Press with Left or Right arrows to sidestep. Good for when you have to move left and right while keeping your current direction.Number Pad Insert: Used to quickly turn and face the opposite direction. Note that there seems to be no key for this on Laptops. On Laptops the insert key serves its normal in-game function, which is to speak your current health percentage. Hopefully this will be corrected in a future version, as they’re talking about implementing a laptop layout for the game.Page Down, Delete and End: These are your Scanning Keys. They scan to the left, right and ahead of you. You’ll get to know them well.Space Bar: Swing net, use sword. This is your main action button. You’ll get to know it well by the end of the game. As stated it swings your net or your sword, activates switches and...well...all sorts of stuff That’s just a few of the

Re: [Audiogames-reflector] Enabling Narrator in Windows Longhorn setup

2014-05-11 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Off-topic room: jack

Re: Enabling Narrator in Windows Longhorn setup

Ok, this is odd. First of all, to Criss, you dont need to keep the windows p e disk in the drive while installing longhorn. The windows preinstallation environment is loaded into memory when your computer starts, probably the reason why it takes like 3 minutes at least to boot. This is so you can insert another disk for an operating system or a repair program. So, why dont you burn the longhorn 4074 build to an actual disk. Once the vm starts talking, you can remove the disk, and insert your longhorn dvd. You dont want to change where the drive points to while in the vm. Now for my issue. I got a 6.0.5000 or something, and shouldnt have. Its probably vista. I installed, and when it came to drive partitioning, I did it like I did windos 7. Added a new partition on the unalicated space, by clicking new. Then hit the apply button on the maximum space and it said that windows failed to create the partition. However, I still see the partition in the list a
nd it still allows me to format and goes through install just fine. I remove the disk after the speech is gone since I know from installing windows 7 you need to remove the disk as the thing boots up so that it doesnt try to boot the install disk again thus failing installation. I have the same issue. No sound. I need to install the 4074 build since that is longhorn. Ill ask Miguel, my low vision friend I have to look at it for me since he knows about longhorn. Hopefully then I can get sound.URL: http://audiogamesforum.captivatingsound.com/viewtopic.php?pid=174578#p174578
