Hi.You speed up by holding down the up arrow, turn left and right by using the left and right arrow keys, and fire by pressing the spacebar.The beeps indicates which direction the monkeys are in, but they are very difficult to shoot without crashing into them.

@AaronThats actually the main idea of the wiki. Listing mainstream games accessible by sight impaired gamers with instructions on how to get around in the menus, guides on how to play and as you said descriptions of characters and cut scenes. Problem is, this takes a lot of work and thats why it is a wiki so that everyone can help. The risk is that no one writes anything because everyone thinks the other people will do it. If my time allows it I will try to gradually improve the entries, structure and content. Ive already reached out to some gamers that have audio recordings of games in order to ask them if I might use them on the wiki. Problem is my time is currently rather limited but Ill try.

Hi.just redownloaded the game, it said 0.2 I am not sure if you gave the updated link or that link is the same.The game seems ok, however after trying to kill the giant and dieing I undid, after which almost every enemy in the dungeon acted like I had killed it.There were no extra items just the wyvern and the boss to kill I had to undo a couple of times till I could kill the boss.crashmaster

Hi.Yeah it works, the fan does not race.Still get stuck in the bar, the bridge loops if for example I have the chisel it will do that then ask me to show the chizzel but I have done this so it hangs.If I have the axe but get it before I hit the bridge for the first time or the second then it works but I need to be carefull.Some of the audio still does not match, and when I get in the bar, I cant get out again.Still some way to go but at least the game does not race

As an advance placement graduate who spent a fair amount of time being schooled into a grammar and spelling Nazi, there comes a time when I want to thump skulls on the internet regarding these issues, particularly among people I believe are supposed to know better. ON the other hand, that sounds so intolerant I can barely help but wonder whos going to resent me for making such a statement. Part of the problem with vigorous education is that while it gives us knowledge and wisdom to practice the closest thing to perfection we can attain, it also hardens us to the idea that other people have their own comfort zones. As has been pointed out above, news articles and reviews seem like areas that should constantly be monitored for spelling and grammar and possibly punctuation errors, which is something Ive tried my best to do when writing out anything that wasnt a private message. Even then, sometimes I find myself absentmindedly opening word fo
 r the sake of making sure whatever it is Im writing isnt completely doomed to illiteracy. That in itself presents an issue; convincing people that I am a simple person rather than some complex entity that desires everything in orderly fashion and cannot stand imperfection is almost impossible.And then I arrive at a topic like this one and wonder if I havent done enough for fear of being mistaken as something Im not. I ask myself with honesty if I could and should have done better, because I see the critical side of the community and the concern with its image. I marvel at how people cry out in protest at mistakes which have been made over and over again, rather than stopping to think about how the people who are writing today are writing as opposed to not writing at all.Yes, the AP student is advocating for those who dont always choose to make spelling a high priority. Life isnt comprised completely of silver 
 linings. No, I am not being a pessimist; I am being a realist. Ten years ago, it was not uncommon for me to hear people of all ages complain about how frustrating technology was as a whole. Today, my sixty something year old godfather has finally given in and started using botha PC and a smartphone and has even purchased devices for his grandchildren. I shouldnt have to tell any of you that at his age, spelling is far from his mind over all when it comes to updating his facebook, and yet I am thrilled that he is at the very least writing still on top of using technology, rather than giving all of it up as a bad joke. I also believe that there is something to be said for the creativity that has arisen among the younger generations when it comes to shortening writing in general, given the forceful character limits of texting and tweeting. These things do not concern me as much as how society as a whole seems to be heading for social disfunction.
 p; I cant help but wonder where feelings lie when we text and IM, how accurately we can identify and perceive someone else from reading their words on a screen, through a screen reader or braille display, or what we actually teach each other and learn from each other anymore, knowing that in all reality we dont have to because the information is stored away for our convenience at a later time.All that to end my opinionated ramblings on this note; the sighted world is full of many of the same errors. Were pointing fingers at each other in this small community because its easier to do, but I challenge you critics to go to a comments page that isnt generally full of perfectionists and the overall things one might associate with geek-itis, but filled with the writings of every day people, and not find a similar recurring issue or issues to the ones presented here in.by the way, Im a geek too, which is how I justify that last 
 statement. Just figured Id point that out. Perhaps thats why Ive been drawn to Miriani once again. I have my moments; I just finished a JLA book.

Righto, so Ive gotten considerably farther. Im now on stage 4-2-2 or something. Im trying to escape a building, there are insects and cars after me. I can kill them all day, but heres my issue.There are two rooms. One is locked, the other has a locked box or something with a number pad on it.I see the numbers 3, 9, 27. I dont know if Im supposed to input them or something, or if Im supposed to give them a four-digit number at random, but Ive tried every possible permutation of 3 9 2 7 in a four-digit sequence (no repeats) and the box just wont open. If Im doing something wrong, could someone give me pointers?Also, two other questions:1. Whats up with the iron balls in stage 1.1?2. Whats up with those stone fragments? Also, is there any point or way to kill bees in level 2.3?

Ive created the beginnings of a possibly very useful utility for PotS players. Its a Dragon Strike latency and reaction time test tool. Right now, it does two tests. In the first one, you respond to a known stimulus. I cannot really do this tool justice without some internal information about the Dragon Strike algorithm, such as exactly how long you have to react, whether the timer starts ticking when the beep starts or when it finishes, and whether theres a short window of time *before* the beep starts in which

Well firstly, the reason this built up is as I have said I was at music school all of last week, from the 17th onwards, and preparing for the few prior days so wasnt monitoring spam, otherwise these topics wouldve been deleted earlier. I can definitely say there is nothing wrong with the articles or development rooms code in terms of deleting topics, (Ive just removed those two spam topics from the articles room myself). What I suspect has happened is that when I setup the articles and development rooms I forgot to add specific moderator permissions to allow mods to delete topics. A similar thing happened in new releases at one point after I set that up. The system does make sense, if you had a massive board with different rooms each with its own dedicated moderator rather than the global mods we have hear, however it is something that needs to be fixed when new rooms are added. Either way Ill go and 
 check the admin settings now.

I would also be ware of what Walkthroughs or playthroughs you find on the internet, sinse there are many for the pc version which was made in the late 90s, and now is extremely out of date in terms of what content has been added to the Ios version. Hi,This game definitely sounds interesting.Ive been experimenting with a lot of different techniques concerning FPS gaming. Right now, Im experimenting with different audio engines and effects to bring positional data across better. RTR, my first FPS attempt, only has 2D sound, which makes it somewhat impractical.The thing is that while playing FPS games, people often get lost in complex environments. I have realized this creating maps for RTR. Some are perfect with it, while the majority of people wont find their way around easily unless you shove a ton of navigational aids in it - this is not meant in an offending way, since I can definitely understand why this happens and that not everyone has the ability to layout stuff in their head like I can. LOLAnyway, good luck with this! We definitely need more FPS games and to see that its not just Aprone, David and me still working on FPS titles feels rather good.

@Keyisful, I approve of the direction, however my point was that perhaps the differences from Entombed could begin even at this early stage in a miner sense. For example, entombed got very taken up with battle mechanics, meaning that features like resting, searching for or finding items, or different dungeon environments didnt get added, (we all know how useless the pick locks ability is). So, suppose you implemented a search function and had some rooms where you got the message it might be good to search hear you could add one item to this function for your character, a healing potion a sword etc, and already your going a different way from entombed. Equally, if you removed resting and had eating instead, or had a hungar mechanic, even if you only added one edible item at this early stage, you are already building your differences into the game. You could also add one single status affect, say a disease which lo
 wered your accuracy, sinse if you add one, the code is there to add more. I would also myself like to see some propper enemy and item descriptions, as well as environmental descriptions added, sinse if anything Entombed could become a little uniform, and knowing what the physical differences between an Orc, a narl, and a goblin were rather than just seeing them as collections of stats would add significantly to the game.While I appreciate you want to create a stable system and branche out from there, Im not exactly convinced saying well Ill write combat and item generation just like entombed then write the other stuff is the way to go, especially sinse if you do want a different focus from entombed, other systems must be introduced slowly. This is actually why such things never got added to entombed originally and why Jason Alan actually planned (and still plans when he has time), on Entombed Ii with a more sta
 ble base line and more balanced systems in its mechanics developed right from the start. As to sounds, I will say work there is extremely good, and I liked the music, for all I thought the battle music was a little over dramatic for battles against generic rats, and perhaps needs some variety, then again I know music is hard to come by so this isnt quite as much a major issue if the mechanics and the text is worked out correctly.

Hi,@dark: Your ship doesnt actually make any sound at all. The only sound you get are the screen boundaries, the rest are enemies or in-game objects.You have to be really careful when moving. If you tilt a lot to one side, your ship will quite literally fly across the screen in around two or three seconds. If not, then you will go at a noticeably slower pace. I once drifted across the screen in ten seconds, and this is a bit tricky. If you are not dead level, you will never stop moving. If you put your phone on a flat surface it should level you. I dont know if youve tried out Audio Invaders, but it works a bit like that, only even more precise, theres an analog level of control here. If you try the movement tutorial, youll notice that even if you move it a little to the left or right, itll say the direction. This is a bit like a thruster. The more you move in that direction, the faster your ship will go.

I do want to expand on what different things are. I was thinking of having an encyclopedia option in the main menu where you could just read about what things look like, perhaps where they came from, etc. And it wouldnt be limited to different creatures, there would be information about items, perhaps the art of alchemy or potion making, etc. Its another one of those grand plan things that I know I want to have, but there are more pressing things to worry about first.

 rtunately make the game crash, in the pwerup tutorial but am not really sure how to report it. It just starts off, then after three seconds or so it crashes. I tried restarting my phone but it still crashes. Im wondering if its trying to spam a powerup, but cant?I am using an iPhone 4 S.

Okay, never mind about either the balls or the safe. I figured out both, though the balls took me forever and a day.Now Im stuck in world 5-4...the one where you run for basically three minutes and then get into a small area with a whole bunch of those demons running around. I thought maybe you had to kill em all. Nope. I thought maybe you had to get to the right of the screen. Nope, despite the logic that would suggest. when I climb the tree to the right end of the stage, I die if I go either left or right, and demons continually spawn below. Im really getting kind of frustrated with the die until you figure it out mentality. Also, Im really glad I ground levels for awhile, because those demons hit hard. Same with the fish...there was another puzzle it took me awhile to figure out. Stage 5-4 is worse because I dont actually see any sort of end goal in sight. If someone could give me a pointer, Id be appreciative.

PTruscott, this game definitely sounds awesome and Id definitely play. Looking forward to seeing what this looks like... my only gripe is that this will be another point and shoot type of fps rather than one with precision and targetting. With no y axis for looking, Im assuming that means aiming will be the usual centering and firing, which to me should be changed up a little. RTR already does this, and to me it seems like something that relies on who can center fastest and mash the control key the most. If theres no y axis for navigation, can there at least be one for aiming where headshots and the like can be attempted? Just a thought. Cant wait to give this a spin when its ready!

The object locator activated by the d key is usually your best friend in those situations. And some mainstream side scrollers especially from the 90s were not always this easy... this games learning curve actually kinda reminds me of Ninja Gaiden. Its fun, but there are days you really just want to toss the computer out the window for how frustrating this is.Stage 5-4, at the end, has a boss fight with a mini demon who has a higher level than you and is perched at the top of the tree. Demons will continually spawn until that one is defeated.

Falling shouldnt kill you... but the best tactic is to climb up the tree and take one step. Just make sure youre all the way up at the top, and youll have a few steps for maneuvering. When you hear him starting to charge you, jump up and let him dash under you. Alternatively, if you want more room to fight, just attract the demon up tops attention by climbing to the top of the tree, then climb back down and hell follow you.

Nope, Ive not heard anything about a new release, though if the new content is mainly fixes and areas rather than new abilities I might not sinse its possible that there wasnt any new dialogue needed. I do hope the xp bug with the sensor is fixed, sinse it is a trifle irritating to have voiced the game, but not be able to actually play it sinse the demo.

Well Im afraid Im getting no footsteps at all, I used the link from the first post to download the game which I assume is the latest version, though perhaps downloading and installing again might be an idea. im not running the game with any other windows. Once when I was experimenting with the keys I got the sticky keys shortcut window open, but I disabled that and havent seen it sinse. @Aaron, I never said your ship made sound, I just meant your ship is quite a large size in sterrio terms meaning that a short can sound slightly left or right of center in the sterrio field and still hit, which again is why Id like better audio for those shots. I didnt mind the control mechanic, though Ive not played audio invaders, however it does frustrate me to not get full access to the game and be hit by shots Id already heard off to one side or the other.

Well Keyisful, this is a perfect illustration of how to start differing from Entombed in small ways. Rather than having plans to code some great encyclopedia, simply add a description field each item that gets read along with its stat info when you hit the x key. No biggy, just some text something like: This is a large, two foot long black rat with glowing red eyes that reaks of sewage and drips with unspeakable slime Ditto with some of the other mechanics I suggested, for example add one food item to find. Small steps is indeed the way, but better to start your small steps in the directions you wish to go eventually, than have to insert random tangents later into a huge and complex wall of coding, this indeed was the problem with the original Entombed and why the Entombed dungeon creator never got finished, and so its why I suggest starting small now and building up rather than trying to insert later.

Whocrazy, you have to go back to wing 1 to get to the ruins again.Youll get a kind of funny seen that takes you back.regarding the ruin gardian...Something needs to be done to make Stella useful in this fight.Even if I place her at the front to only use two turns on her, she cant do anything to the gardian.The smart thing to do would be to make the gardian where you can use dice roles on her before the music switches over, but not after.That way, if you do things right; stella can contribute something to the battle.I keep getting the gardian down to about 10 percent and then the game auto gameovers on me.The random damage factor is also weird.Ive seen damage vary as much as 300 hp on spells.In a battle where every spell counts, thats a bad thing, not to mention, it seems like the number of turns you get to defeat the gardian is random as well.Ill get it done eventually, Im just p

Hi guys, sorry for taking so long to respond. @ethin the reason I havent fixt it? Because theirs nothing to fix. What dark is most likely having is either a bad download or the free sl audio engine simpply acting up under windows xp. I have no idea on how to fix it since I dont use xp myself, but layder this weak when I have the house to myself again and I dont have my grandma and brother over I can take a look, but it really does sound like your download was a bad download.

So I had to end all the elten processes, then some weird other process werfault.exe or something, then it was finally closed.

Okay, so I found out the problem.Its not falling that kills me. Its the damned demon.As in...from full health, 410HP, I died in a single hit. He seems to be able to charge very fast. He did it once, I jumped. He roared again as I was landing. I didnt press the jump key immediately, and I was dead.Is it me, or is putting a boss in a very small fighting area when he possesses an instant-death attack an awfully freaking mean thing to do less than halfway through the bloody game?Is there some way to stun/disable/otherwise bait and kill him? Facing him head on is a nightmare.Youre right about Ninja Gaidin. The problem with such difficulty is that if you get sick of trying over and over, the game starts to seem arbitrary, unfair and not worth playing. That level in particular...its got a whole levels worth of running and avoiding, and then that boss which, with one small mistake, will instantly kill you. Seems just a ta
 d n the ridiculous side...so if any of you have cheap/easy ways to beat this thing, please let me know.

@Jayde,i dont remember really what weapons and equipment you have at that point, but theres an item that can paralice the enemy for a short time.but the best strategy is to fight on ground, not in that small space. do you have a weapon that pushes back the enemy?. if so, throw that demon out of the tree and fight on ground. kill demons and eventually youll kill the higher level boss.best of luck in stage 6 it is much more harder@assault, that idea of throwing the computer from the Window is great, especially if someone is walking below you. ha, ha.ok, stupid jokes aside, ill have to play again to finish collecting weapons, if i can.

Dark, depending on how hes got his code laid out, adding exploration stuff later, or hunger/thirst stuff later, or any of a dozen other mechanics, wouldnt necessarily be difficult. Combat is its own kettle of fish, and anything added to combat has to be tweaked and tested since the game will probably be driven by its combat, like it or not. However, the other things are tangential, as the topic creator said...which is to say that he could conceivably focus mostly on combat to improve the raw playability of the demo, and then, so long as he didnt lose focus, write all the other side stuff that does not depend on combat.Anyway, good luck.

But this bigger demon makes the same sound as the small ones, and it would be extremely easy to get confused as to which demon is charging and die in one hit.I have a longsword, a rope, a hammer, some sort of other sword I bought but which I cant use because of technology requirements, and I used all my plates.If the damned demons down below stopped spawning, this might be doable. If his attack wasnt an instant kill, it would also be doable. As it stands though, I simply see no way to differentiate him from regular demons if I knock him out of the tree when theyre all roaring and stomping around.
