Hi all, another awsome new change. Planets will now have actual resources you can pick up on the surface, this applys to newly probed planets. These resources are now required for the construction of buildings, and in future, now that we know what works, the construction of your very own starships! Currently the teleporter outpost needs 3 iron, and 2 peaces of rair metal, all can be gotten from the surface. Now that that system is in place, I was thinking we implement a colony building so that players could truely setup planet cracking operations, and add others to security for cracking operations to begin, how does that sound.

Im gonna say no, but I could be wrong… I doubt it though. Notetakers dont have the power to do all that sound playback and calculating, plus they dont support mice for aiming. Not to mention, thatd be one more port to manage, and Aprone has already said he wont do a port for iOS or OS X. Those are more widely used platforms than the Sense notetakers, and if they wont get Swamp…Now, what might be doable is a chat-only option, somehow. That way, you could log on to talk to people, but you wouldnt be playing the game, youd only be able to read and write chat messages. Such a program would be small, use few resources, and be easier to maintain because it wouldnt be full Swamp. The only time Aprone would have to update it would be when he changes security or other settings on the server.

Add to that, the OS on the braille sense is not pure windows mobile. From what I understand, it uses windows CE as the back bone, but a different interface for the front end. Here is a wikipedia thing on it. Not to sure how close it is. Basicly, the closest to windows mobile on a notetaker for the blind is the pacmate and that as far as I know is not good enough to run swamp if it was ported. Trust me, every time I want to figure out how to do something on the PACMate that wasnt documented, all I had to do was to look up how to do that something in windows mobile 6.0 to figure out how to do it on the PACMate. I at times do wish I could carey swamp on a portible device and play it out on the road or where ever.

Hi.this sounds interesting danny.One thing as with artifacts on derelict ships we will need a way to locate surface resources and where they are so we can get them otherwise we are wandering round aimlessly.I do agree though cracks need to be secured though, either from space or the planet itself because planet crackers even the small ones dont have much weapons and unless you upgrade speeds for exceleration they are not that fast.

I think I get it. You dont donate to get points, you get a point for every item or loot you find. If you run around a map and find five pieces of loot, you have five loot points. No donating, no trading, no nothing. Each time you pick up anything on a regular or sub map, you get a point.

hello. I personally, I always say that all games should have text files to be translated into other languages. All videogames that are released nowadays are in 6 languages or more. So for my game audio developers should do the same. To put language files as Aprone would perfect. For example, I know most members of the Hispanic community who play Japanese games, because they can translate from the clipboard.

For walking forward, just use the north constant, for left, use the west constant, etc. For zdir, just usually keep it at 0 so it will go in the original direction, but if for example, you were ducking, you could use streight down, and that would make the bullet not go anywhare. Like I said 3d rotation is something you can use at your own risk and figure out at your own risk, even im not reall

This function can be called in these other methods, same peramotirs apply. vector move(double x, double y, double deg, double dir=0.0)vector move(double x, double y, double z, double deg, double dir) note that this is so if your using a 3d map but not a 3d rotation, and your x and y and z were in a vector, this would make the z value not be effected. return value: A vector with the new coordinates after the move is complete. remarks:This is how you can move a player, or for that madder any other object in what ever direction you wanted to. For example, if was going east and the original x and y were 5, 5, the end result would be 6, 5. Note I havnt found a way to move in actual squares rather than triangle like things using sine and cosine, but its not really notisable, I just wanted to throw it in there incase anyone was very picky about that. double calculate_theta(double deg)peramitors: deg: the a

What is the easiest way to create a character with the character class? Should I modify the character class with pathes for the various step sounds, etc, and do that for multiple characters such as the player and any AI actors? I guess I should just use normal sound stream playback for music during levels? Theres the ambience in HE, but trying to figure out how Ill set up my own game before I screw up any of the classes without meaning to. I make backups, but thats beside the point. Ill also modify the keys in fpControler so that I can use the arrow keys.Thanks.

Hello,For those wanting some tips:when you level up you will not gain the health that you got. So, it might say your characters stats are 150 health but you might have ended the mission with 50, so stay in the bass, go to manage character list, find your character but do not press enter. Instead, press h which will check their halth, and every twenty seconds or so keep rpessing h to check their health. Or, use medkits if you have them.

H.E. opens the game window itself when the run method is called (which may be stupid, I know), but the doc explicitely explains that calling show_game_window more than once in the game isnt a problem.The Game object HAVE to be created exactly like how you did, so the problem isnt coming from here. Recently, High Voltage Software, in cooperation with Nether Realm Studios released Mortal Kombat X for the PC. The releases launch date was rife with untest code and features such as a streaming install that in theory would allow you to play certain modes while the game updated itself, but failed to deliver this promise in practice. Upon trying to click on menu items, the game crashed, and it wasnt until some time later when the game was made operable.Even when the game was made playable, it was still plagued by numerous bugs, including poor online synchronization, glitches in execution of finishing moves, lagging behind the console versions, and so on. The company(s) then released a patch that disabled streaming updates, but still left the PC version far behind its console counterparts in features and fixes.On the fifth of May, a 15 GB patch was released which was supposed to contain the DLC character Jason (from the Friday The 13th movies), as wel
 l as numerous fixes to bring the PC version up to speed with its console ports. The patch, despite its extremely redundant size, delivered the promised character, but failed to fix most of the bugs it had promised to fix. Furthermore, and worst of all, it corrupted the save states of multiple gamers on the PC platform, Eradicating any progress they had made towards unlocking characters, costumes, moves, etc. They then forced PC gamers to download yet another 15 GB patch, just to undo this faulty update.The sixth of May saw the release of yet another 15 B patch meant to address the data corruption error. Save data does now seem to be safe, for the moment, but no effort is being made to compensate PC gamers for the incompetence of the programmers involved, beyond a pitiful 10,000 Koins, which amounts to about two or three unlocks within the Krypt mode of the game. The patch has also introduced a new bug which means that the game will at times fail to terminate properly, and is

Hi all,Well, I finally got my NKRO keyboard, which allows me to hit up to twenty-six keys without any ghosting. Thats when a key fails to work when other keys are in the way. I got to try out plover, and I got to write my first sentence.Hello, world.The q, w, e, r and t keys are s, t, p, h keys in steno.The a, s, d, f keys are s, k, w, r keys.The c, v, n, and m keys are a, o, e and u vowel thumb keys.The u, I, o, p keys are f, p, l and t, followed by the left bracket key, which is D.The j, k, l, semi colon, and apostrophe keys are r, b, g, s and z.You would write hello, world by typing h e l, r n o, then you would write lo, which is hr, or r and f, followed by the V key.World would be written by typing d, v, j, o, and for the D, you would put your pinky on the left bracket key.i did this using Plover.

Well ive started kapi-regnum, and I do see the point in the game, indeed the tutorial is a trifle inadequate. I do wish there was a better way of viewing whats needed to produce what than having to look in every building separately, plus I do confess there is something a litle cold about the game, I dont really feel Im interacting with a smelly middle ages city full of bustle and life and real people, sinse to me an interesting part of city building is facing up to environmental disasters, and indeed managing your population, and I dont just mean allotting enough houses, I mean things like keeping your people happy and occupied, and watching them have children and grow etc. Ill give the game a try to see if I can get into it, and I will add it to the db, though currently Im not sure whether its exactly my thing, and I know this is odd with what I wassaying about city building earlier, but hay.

I am verry hurt! I have unfairly being banned from the survive the wild server. I was killed 6 times by an admin gun. after 2 or 3 times I began asking questions why is this happening to me. I havent taken a shot at an admin I would not do that. So when it stopped for a while I stopped asking then I got shot by the admin gun again. so I started asking again what is going on then one of the administrators named Hazel just went and band me. I feel that it is unfair So I am asking you please sam help me?

To be honest, i hate sapi. I changed my voice to vwpaul but i honestly hate it because its so slow. I want jaws to work, and who cares how many people use NVDA? Not all of us who play rtr do, and I hate sapi. I plan to do a space invaders game and unfortunately, from the windows attack tutorial, I wanted to make the sound of the viruses decrease in pitch as they are falling. Dark, unfortunately, good solid character development doesnt seem to matter any more to a lot of todays film producers. Even franchises like Transformers and Star Trek who had well defined characters are sadly suffering from this lack of characterization. I know when I went to see the latest Transformers movie or the last two Star Trek movies I distinctly recall walking out feeling let down and disappointed. Both were things I very much enjoyed as a kid, but once Hollywood got ahold of them they ruined the franchises by focusing more on action and adventure than preserving the characters that were already established. In many cases the film producers ignored the accepted cannon and created their own inferior versions of the main characters which was less than ideal. The same sort of problem applies to the superhero movies involving Spiderman, superman, the Hulk, etc. Its not that the superheroes do not have character or dont possess decent qualities. It is 
 the big budget films which have largely changed or altered the main character of the superhero to fit whatever the producers idea of that character should be. Unless you have watched the TV shows, read the comics, or listened to superhero radio programs you might not grasp how much the character of a given superhero has been change din the modern films.Since we have been talking about the Hulk lets use Bruce Banner as an example. You are right no matter what caused him to become angry, bitter, etc gives him the right to be a jerk. I blame this on the modern movies because somewhere along the way the producers decided to make him into a perpetual jerk. However, historically speaking that isnt the way it use to be.I will once again direct you to the 70s and 80s TV series which was hugely popular in the States. In that series Dr. Banner actually tried to avoid getting angry, tried to avoid conflict, and for the most part was not the jer
 k we see in the modern movies. He was generally a kind caring person who avoided conflict when and where possible, but if someone made him angry watch out. Hed go all Hulk on them and kick ass and take names. However, in the TV series there was a much more human side to Dr. Banner than is apparent in todays movies.I think, and this is just my opinion, a lot of your disagreement with superheroes is that you are basing your opinions solely on the modern movies. If you want to know more about the Hulk, Superman, or any other superhero you have to go back to the comics or the older TV series where the sort of characterization you are talking about is far more common. The classic Superman TV series from the 50s or the Incredible Hulk TV series have much more human characterizations than todays big budget films and were not focused on action. They actually tried to tell a story and make those superheroes people who you and I can identify with on a personal l
 evel.

Hey there Sam. I was just thinking. Would you have any interest or the capability to include the option for using the mouse to turn? Keyboard rotation is fine and all, but Im sure Im not alone when saying that using the mouse to turn instead would give a whole extra spurt of speed to the game in terms of aiming and dodging. So, whats the deal with mines. More than half the time, I hit enter after selecting mine as the inventory item to use and the mine explodes immediately wounding the deploying character. Is there some trick to safely deploying them? Bombs work just fine.

All right, so I have finally bought the full version and tried to play 3 different games.Now that Im starting to get a bit better in the last one, I have a level 34 character and Im still alone but I think my next mission is going to be the prison, as I would really love to see the mode where your Ai characters can do missions on their own in action. :-)I agree wit the last post about the police station. Ive tried it in the two previous games. I always let my AI characters do the job and always hang around the entrance myself. Most of the time, I hear the mission successful tune before I even know it. :-D The last time I tried this, both of my guys ended up being taken by the police as well and I was left all alone. I thought this was the end, but still I went to explore the rest of the map. What I found was really hilarious. There were just like two or three half-dead cobs left. A single stab with a long knife was enough to kill every one of them, a
 nd then we were all liberated. :-D :-DRight now, my solo character takes insane ages to get rid of drug addiction. I am using a spear, a whip, a pistol and a revolver and have dozens of all the weapons so far, including knives and long knives, but I still find myself overpowered and outnumbered really quickly and easily, so I always end up giving him a dose of all three drugs before going on a mission. Thats why I think its time to start recruiting new members now, and I would also love to see new weapons. Once I have some more people to join me, might be time to visit the weapon shop again. :-DThats about it, my current impressions of the game so far.I love it much more than I used to love the demo while I still had only a single functional earphone. :-DI however agree that some things are very difficult to balance. For instance, its not difficult to get a thousand food from the farm on a single solo mission and live from that for a
 ges, but cash is much more tough to get, especially when you have other gang members whose salary demands are really somewhat over the top. But I guess that might all be part of the challenge. :-)Likewise, its pretty tough to get new weapons. I seem to have observed a tendency for a new type of weapon to become spawnable every so many levels. Calling show_game_window worked, thanks. Now that I know HE calls show_game_window when the game level starts, will there be two Windows? So, when I call it for the menu and when the engine calls it for the first level when I call game.run? Is there a way to close that window once game.run is called?

@Sam, the best solution for the keys question, is have a controls.cfg file.In that, you put the configuration for all the keys in the game, and the thing was resolved. Each person can modify the file with their favorite controls.You only provide defaults :3

From what Ive seen on this forum, and what Ive seen on Skype, terminator is not, shall we say, the best person to associate with for a project like this. For one, he does not understand how the US law works; neither does he understand plagiarism. I asked him for some source code for his OS and he said it would be illegal to give it to me, when in fact it would not be. I will not go any further, but I would not associate with him if I were you. He seems to overreact some times, and act irrationally during those times. I dont want to take you guys down, or criticize SBSoft, but sometimes, criticism actually will help you. I will not insult either of you, as that is not my nature. However, please remember that before you go spouting whats illegal, such and such, please learn the laws of the country your associating with and the country y
 ou live in. You do not need to learn all of them, but learn the ones which you feel would keep you safe and prepare you. If you want to be a company, your going to interact with multiple countries, just like Microsoft and Google do, so that is recommended so that you dont get fined or charged for something you didnt even know about.

There are plenty of OSes out there: arthur, ARX, MOS, RISC iX, RISC OS, AmigaOS, Amiga Unix (aka Amix), Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, Google Chrome OS, Android, Chromium OS, Xenix, MSX-DOS, MSDOS, Windows CE, Singularity, Midori... Do I have to go on? Why create another one? I understand that you want to achieve something new, but you should at least wait. Wait until your very proficient in assembly language and C++ in general before you do that, because your going to depend on assembly a lot. C++ cant do everything, and assembly is needed in *a lot* of places. Im not joking.
  If you want proof, just look at the Linux kernels code. If I were to run a find command to search for all *.s files, it would bring up more than a thousand of them.

Why not just copy the set_speech_mode method directly from the dynamic_menu include class?All it does is that it takesone argument, an integer. It checks if that integer is less than5 because there are only 4 supported screen readers and 0 is Sapi. So, if the argument is less than 5, it sets the internal output variable to that.Idontknow if the extended menu class supports speaking through screen readers and it only lacks the means to actually set the output, or if it is not able tospeak through ascreen reader at all.In that case, you would also need to modify the run_extended method accordingly so that it would also be able to distinguish between audio and TTS items.Hope this helps,Lukas
