I gave Out of the Park a try, but while it installs just fine, that's about all it does accessibly. Again, there used to be a ton of really good online ones, but most of them have either shut down or become rather terrible. I know there are a great number of online games, but they require pretty much daily involvement, which is time I really don't have. Re: Bokurano Daibouken 3 : secondary topic If you use the chain sword and switch to another weapon quickly before the chain sword hits an enemy, you will be stuck on whatever weapon you're currently using. I just did this with the omega shooter set to subweapon 1, and the chain sword set to subweapon 2. switch to subweapon 2, use the chain sword on something, then quickly switch back to subweapon 1, the omega shooter. If you do it right the chain sword will hit after you switch weapons and you'll be stuck in whatever direction you were facing with the omega shooter and no way to switch or get out of it. all you can do from here is jump, use a shield or shoot in the direction you're facing. Re: Castaways 2 public beta
Re: Castaways 2 public beta @Turtlepower, the problem of having to sit around is really an early game thing. The shortest time for tasks is one minute, and when you have more workers you can assign more tasks to get done so that your having things all complete at different times and no sooner one thing is finished you start another, especially when you have lots of workers and lots of jobs that take different amounts of time, indeed depending upon how complex the game gets the chance to set professions and have some sort of auto gathering, harvesting or other job happen might be needed just to save your fingers . What I would love to see is a completed jobs history, so you can review just what jobs are done and know when something is complete, sinse if anything I found that picking out when something was done from the rest of the game text (especially when looking at requirements for future jobs), was quite time consuming. Also I bet when Aprone makes the game a bit less predictable and adds things like weather, there will be need to manage things more carefully even more, eg, if you see the temperature drop, stop your workers from collecting dry grass and have them collect firewood instead. One thing I would like to see is the ability from castaways 1 to assign some jobs to multiple workers and thus get them done quicker, especially building and tool making, this might be very necessary in the future when we're having to build massive buildings etc. One alternative method to doing this and one which might still provide the need for game balance might be the way to combine idle workers into work crews and then assign the crew on one job. Say for example you had three idle workers and wanted to build a house, you could have the task "assign to crew" (say tied to a town hall or administration building), which would assign two workers to the p; crew. Once you'd assigned as many workers to the work crew as you wanted, you could have the hole crew do one job, with each worker you assigned knocking one minute off the job to the minimum completion time of one minute, so it'd be pointless assigning a work crew to say gather dry grass, but assigning a crew of four workers to build a house would get it done in one minute rather than five (and of course making babies would need to be exempt from this sinse I doubt extra hands would make light work in that situation). this also has the possibility of making larger numbers of workers easier to manage if things go really macro, as i hope they will. Re: Basic Screen Reader Support in Unity
Re: Basic Screen Reader Support in Unity I don't use Unity3D, but understand that it uses Mono under the hood and allows you to use C#.Which platforms are you targetting? The solution will be different for each one and you will probably use pre processor macros to incorporate the correct one for your build target. For windows you could try Tolk, which has a C# wrapper, (LGPL3):https://github.com/dkager/tolkOr Quentin C's Universal Speech, adding your own CFFI bindings using PInvoke, (GPL, or closed source if your app is free, or commercial license available by contacting Quentin):https://github.com/qtnc/UniversalSpeechHope that helps. Re: MMM! My Mac Mini
Re: MMM! My Mac Mini Hmmm...Reading this post is helping me along making the decision to switch. To answer a few of your questions, though, I will say whatever you're looking for regarding monitoring audio and then recording (if that's what you intend to do with the "stereo mix equivalent"), said audio will require to shell out a few extra bucks to get Audio Hijack. It's just an application like NCH's Soundtap Streaming Audio Recorder, but for Mac. Now, I'm hoping somebody will jump in and talk about the accessibility of this program. I myself haven't talked to anybody about VO's interaction with it, but for $50 you'd better make sure you can use it before buying it.There are a plethora of apps you can get for free to monitor audio input from line-in microphones. Again, though, accessibility is part of the equation. Finally, have you encountered the entirety of VoiceOver's utility and options? If I& #039;m correct, you're talking about pitch change, the equivalent of VO on iOS, then there is a way to do it, but it's been months since using a Mac for me to direct you right to the option.Oh, and Trump is despicable.Best Regards,Luke URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=253923#p253923 ___ Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector

I was in a similar position myself about a month ago when I decided to give Vinux a try, and while I've since spoken to a couple of people who consider Vinux to be a cop-out, and encouraged me to dive right into something like Arch, I feel that it doesn't really matter where you start out as long as you get what you need to get out of your OS. Re: Is the forum server having problems? Have you considered just moving to Google AppEngine? Then you won't need CloudFlare because Google is already distributed. It might even be free. But this requires work for you, to make sure the code can run on that platform. We'd lose the anti-spam protection, although honestly I'm not sure that was ever really working anyway; indeed it simply appears to have caused some of our legitimate visitors to get CAPTCHA challenges. MMM! My Mac Mini
MMM! My Mac Mini Thanks to @Sebby, @arqmeister, @wanderer, and @aaron77, who all posted helpful tips for my curious and naive mind, getting started on the mini was almost flawless. I say almost because it wasn't flawless. What it has been, is an experience I've been waiting on for quite some time.Sebby was almost entirely responsible for my having dropped nearly $2000 on a mac, and I say almost entirely, because the rest of the entirety was kind of divided between myself and MS. I proudly claim the responsibility for previous mentioned action, as I am now the proud user of a mini that sits proudly on my proud desk sounding loud and proud on my sound system. Voiceover, great! Facetime, good. Messages, lovely. Safari, hmmm, kinda feels clunky, but it'll work. ITunes, still wrapping my head around it. p; Nightowl, fun! Text edit, reasonable. Contacts, just, [[wow]]! Ok ok, so I wasn't able to set someone's birthday on it, but I think that's just a bug with the app more than myself, or maybe it is myself. But where it really gets cool is, familiarity! Voiceover doesn't feel different on my mac, on my iPhone, on my watch or on my TV. Info I care about is always with me... Even my mac alerts me to phonecalls now. if I turn this thing off, which I've only done once, it's ready to go within about 10 seconds. If I want interactive screen reader support, it's only a couple of keystrokes away. If I need a sandwitch... Just making sure you're still paying attention. And yet, my mac usage has raised a few questions, which I've no doubt do have answers even if I don't necessarily like them. I realize that some of these may sound as if I'm hoping to accomplish things on my m ac as I would on a windows PC, but the fact is that I'm willing to settle for alternatives wherever necessary.1. What is the best way to monitor an audio input?2. Closely related to 1, is there a stereoMix equivalent?3. How, for the life of me, can I get rid of that useless and rather distracting habit voiceover has of pitching down a voice when it encounters bits of information it believes are important to me? I hate entering an edit field and hearing the label in a voice that sounds completely and entirely different from the one I know I'm supposed to be listening to. Is this a bug, or else a joke? I've plundered the voiceover utility for the past couple of days trying to figure this issue out, but have come up with nothing.4. is it just me, or does Apple have a way of introducing things that are absolutely amusing even if they are useless? I mean, what the blazes is up with that duplicate featu re? I only discovered it accidentally, but still can't think of a use for it, since one already has copy and paste at their fingertips as well.5. What's up with Donalt Trump?Overall, while this is not my final take on such a system, I'm pleased. I was right when I stated that it wasn't going to make me as happy as XP once did, but OSX has certainly liberated me in ways I myself could never have imagined from a windows world that no longer deserves my technological attention and effort. A little less than a month in, with only the past two weeks truly serving as the meat and potatos of my entire experience with El Capitan, but just as many have pointed out, I'm getting faster, becoming more confident, and surely learning what I need to know to thrive as I did with windows. Re: Lets translate Undead Assault into your language
Re: Lets translate Undead Assault into your language Hi.I don't know yet when the template will be updated. We hold a really nice meeting in the beta testing group yesterday, which means we got things organized much better, which will mean a lot for all both inside the group, the translators and all people who are playing the game. I'm currently working on a new and much more improved way regarding to the translation, which I'll write an update about here in the topic as soon as possible. I'll create a Dropbox folder, but before I do that, I need to have it all organized, talk to the others in the beta testing group about it and then I'm ready to make it public. Then, I'm also working on getting a list of all your translators information to keep things more organized, and to get a way of contacting you all if needed. More on that later on. I'm currently busy because of some private things going on in my life and family, which is taking most of my time currently. If it all goes as planned, I h ave a new update of the new way of doing things at the end of the week, which hopefully will be much better for us all. Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book? Yes, and let me remind you that those guys who made NVDA were Australians. OK then, enough with the patriotism. It's much harder to build a multiline braille display than a screen reader. I know that Freedom Scientific won't be building a multiline braille display first. Clearly, they are much more concerned about charging $400 for ten hours of iOS training when they are clearly a company focused on Windows. But I wouldn't be so sure with a company like HIMS--they might just be able to do it. Well, we'll see at CSUN. Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?
Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book? NVDA didn't come from a huge company; it started when a dude got fed up with commercial screen readers. It is now almost 10 years old and going strong. Yes it has had funding from companies, but it is still a free and open-source product, and now outdoes commercial screen readers in a lot of areas, making it more than sufficient for an average blind computer user. I think something like this needs to happen with Braille; a big blind-specific company isn't going to be in any hurry to innovate because the current status quo is immensely profitable for them. On the other hand, Apple did introduce VoiceOver on their own, so I may be wrong. Knowing the reputations of companies like Freedom Scientific though I doubt it. Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?
Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book? Yes, but if blind people in other countries don't have funding, how are they going to even make their own decisions about whether braille is a good or bad thing? OK, so let's imagine that braille disappears from reading. It's just this weird code used for writing by the blind (and let's also imagine that not all forms of blindness are curable then yet). In 100 years, how will blind children in school learn to spell and do maths? And that joy of reading that so many people on this forum have talked about--will they not be able to read anymore. I don't want to be around in that dystopian society. Yes, braille is expensive, and yes, braille technology is outdated, but unless we give these companies the money to innovate, we'll never escape from this black hole. That's why I haven't given up yet. I wonder what the officials of the various braille authorities would think if they saw this topic. Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?
Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book? Sure, people in other countries may not have funding, but its like this. Funding may look good, but its just giving the big companies more money. Even Baum, a company I thought I could respect, is still putting Windows CE on their latest devices, the Vario Ultra. So now, its buggy and can't sustain power longer than even my iPhone, while reading, playing music, and everything. So yeah, braille either has to change or has to go. Its impeeding progress of technology. On the other hand, Apple does have braille screen input, which I'm using right now. No, I don't want to use it while playing a MUD, but it sure gets the work done, even while typing long documents. So braille input isn't gone yet, but reading in braille may soon be a thing of the past. Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?
Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book? All right everyone, here we go!First, would people quit moaning and groaning about how braille is so important and vital? Yes, I've heard this everywhere. Do I think braille is a useful tool? You bet! However, I'm getting sick of blindness organizations and education agencies moaning and harping about how vital braille is. At the same time, these people are willing to use state grants to buy these devices for individuals? What's up with that? How can you go around saying that braille is so important, yet allow these companies to monopolize and overprice a technology that is supposedly "vital" for the blind? This smells like hypocrisy to me. Why are the NFB, ACB and god only knows what other organizations simply sitting around doing nothing about this? I thought these were supposed to serve the interests of the blind. Well, now you know why I despise every last one of them. Why can't we, the consumers, go out and purchase these "essential uot; devices for literacy on our own? Why do we have to go begging state agencies to pay for these things? I seriously don't get it. I get that the market is small, but this is just disgusting! Again, I'm not saying braille is bad, I just think we're approaching this in the completely wrong way.If this $1000 screen of braille ever comes out, it's going to change everything! Braille books will become obsolete because you can simply write information to a screen and the refreshable screen of braille characters would instantly update to reflect your changes. All these greedy companies that sell single-line displays will either have to change their tune or go bust. I have high hopes for this device, but who knows. Only time will tell.As for math, I would have loved to do it on my Mac. Unfortunately, I have found it very difficult with speech or even the current single-line displays. Besides, I'll be out of school in June and this load of garbage is n't going to matter. I stand with Dark. If things don't change very soon, braille is going to become obsolete. Hell, it already is. Do I like that? Not really, because I recognize braille as a tool. Still, I don't know. All I know is that something needs to change, and it needs to happen soon. I also know that these ridiculous blindness organizations are going to do nothing about it. Instead, they're passing stupid bullcrap declarations like that one telling Apple to make every single app in the app store accessible. Are you kidding me? You think making a drawing app accessible is going to actually work? Why aren't you people working with Microsoft to make a talking Windows installer or making a cheaper braille display? Why are you coming up with stupid proposals that don't solve these glaring issues? Anyway, this has turned into a rant and is slightly off-topic. I'm done for now. Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?
Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book? Actually, I was under the impression that the NFB was working on the Transforming Braille Group's braille display. As for the ACB, I have no idea what they're doing. You lucky people in the US are complaining that you are forced into having to get funding from your state rehabilitation agencies. Well, go out of the States and you'll see that in almost every other country, people have to pay for them themselves--that's right, almost no funding.I do not think multiline braille displays will change the world, and I think that it has to be those big blindness companies that introduce the first multiline braille display. I just won't support some university student who wants to change the world with his project that he is going to abandon in a year because it's not getting him the millions of dollars he's hoping for.
How can you go around saying that braille is so important, yet allow these companies to monopolize and overprice a technology that is supposedly vital for the blind? Why are the NFB, ACB and god only knows what other organizations simply sitting around doing nothing about this? I thought these were supposed to serve the interests of the blind. Well, now you know why I despise every last one of them. Why can't we, the consumers, go out and purchase these "essential" devices for literacy on our own? Why do w e have to go begging state agencies to pay for these things? Besides, I'll be out of school in June and this load of garbage isn't going to matter. I stand with Dark. I f things don't change very soon, braille is going to become obsolete.
