@Mike, that nasty bug with ie and several browsers is fixed, ie8 has no issues, neither did ie 11 so feel free to dive streight in.One thing that occurred to me about the game, is it'd be cool if settlements could be expanded, perhaps eventually with the ability of turning them into fully fledged towns so that the starting point moves up. Say that adventurers could choose to settle in a given settlement and the more of a given type settled the better upgrades were available. If a large number settled, say more than 100 at one settlement, the settlement then becomes a town, and becomes the starting point for new adventurers, ie, the fronteer expands. If however an adventurer starts from the start and runs into an established town, or runs from one established town to another, she/he is given messagers to carry which earn some extra gold, thus it'd still be worth starting at the start even if towns were available to start from.To counter this, settlements cou
 ld be attacked and their level reduced, or even be wiped off the map altogether, indeed nasty adventurers might even join evil pirates or bandits or the like and try to attack settlements, though of course this means leaving for a life of crime and nastiness and so losing the adventurer in the process. Btw, can you tell i really like this game? I just wish I accidently hadn't hit "give up and be a guardian" when i got my mage to space 550, .

My appologies for not recognizing the language, in fairness I should've guessed  it was a cerilic language sinse in that first unknowable box with the yes/no prompt supernova did read some cerilic characters. I'm afraid it's just not working for me Skylord. I go to that deery item as I did when I was hitting arrows, hit enter, select english, hit enter again and nothing happens. I've tried yes and no at the unknowable prompt and neither works, one has some music then a musical sting and the program closes (I wonder if this is running an updater or something), the other leads me back to that Russian menu which won't translate even when I choose english. I Really! think there needs to be a separate English version of the game. As to the game not letting you do anything, well as I said the entombed walking alpha wasn't too much better .I suspect Skylord and Ch games are planning a resource stratogy type of game here where you mine, get resources and sell them. That would rock (ha ha ), if it was done right, though this language issue really! needs fixing if the game is to be available to none russian speakers.

Aprone, sorry to post a negative.  Swamp is broke in so many ways.  It has been the best audio game out there and having spoken in depth many times I hope you know I am posting in hope of moving forward.  However the truth is swamp is broke.  It's a big game, it's a big project and you are just one person.  There are bugs, there are game imbalances and there are cheat issues that need addressing.  If you do not have time to fix these issues, I can understand, you have a life to live, perhaps you need to hre think about hiring another programmer or at least another game moderator.   Being one of your best fans, I have struggled over the past 6 months to say this.  It's broke.  People do 200 crate missions in 30 minutes and level like Gods and a year ago we had a debate on level caps.  A topic that needs revisiting.  Some folks waste their lives levelling like hell just to lord it over other folks and follow 
 this with so many insults, I'm actually amazed I sometimes get a decent comment from the occasional opponent.  Look at FabiG's post, a plea for common sense, you really need to keep a check on the game balance.  You also really need to police this game, there's too much abuse and there's also cheating issues that are well overdue for addressing.  If Swamp was not so good, I would simply move on, and count my time as value for money many times over.  However Swamp is still the best audio game out there and it can be fixed.  Aprone, there needs to be 2 of you, so you have the time to play and observe and to program and of course to have a real life also.  Yours truly in hope.

Which is not to say that I agree with them (I got off my ars and went shopping, and bought oven stuff, even... I have no business complaining about the scary Praise the Federation subtext until the novelty has worn off.  )But the rain! Not the amount—goodness knows I all but had to swim to class for five of the past ten years—but the utter unpredictability. At first, I carried an umbrella around whenever the forecast called for rain all afternoon (well, thunderstorms, and I don't remember the word "scattered" showing up). Then it didn't actually rain quite literally nine times out of ten, so I stopped carrying the umbrella. I think you are all familiar enough with narrative tropes to guess what happened next.(Reality works on narrative tropes, of course. It's just that most of them aren't the cool ones with Guitars and Laserguns. Maybe sometimes, if you can trick reality into thinking you're the protagonist. But I tried that, and Reality said... ah, let me look it up... You are forgetting a little thing called me. ;DSee if you can control me. I am as old as time and older still. I am Reality, queen of all, wife to Time, mother of Space, ruler of Matter, Chance, Coincidence, and Physics. And I control them all. You cannot defeat me. Your petty toy is but a bleak glimmer in the life of eternity and beyond.I control all.tick tick tick tick BANANAS! ... but that was in 2003, so maybe I should try again?)So, yeah. There was a director who didn't like guide dogs, but the current director is cool with them. The enormous NFB canes feel kinda advantageous when you're running through an open area, but sorta cumbersome in any place where you don't have a 10 foot circle of freedom (and the training center's main building is tiny). Of all the gatherings of blind people I've been to, the complete total of apologies for collisions does not hold a candle to the first day at LCB. And it seems to take that whole "and uncompromising extroverts shall inherit the Earth" irritation that is modern America (Dark, if you can tell me that it is not this way in the UK, I might be able to get more than 5 hours of sleep tonight) and multiplies it many fold.Yet I'm still not complaining, 'cause these things stopped bothering me surprisingly quickly. Well, the last two are kinda annoying because squeezing the whole group into a not-exactly-large library, and having everyone get on and off of buses, and attempting single-file lines... Gah!(OK, maybe I'm complaining a little.)I like the slate and stylus. Being able to create physical things anywhere currently feels worth the ... ah... well, I'm sure you can imagine the tradeoffs.Ugh, I need to write an essay about how things have gone so far to prove I can Microsoft Word, and I'm not even sure how to start.

Also, what kind of sound quality are we talking about here? are we talking today's sound quality or are we talking like something like what sounds like something from the 80s when I was growing up. Hi there.@dark: well, as a native spanish speaker I can tell you that, definitly it is not Spanish. If you take a look at the intro, it sounds  more like russian or one of these. soviet languages.And, at least when you did the private betatesting for entombed you were able to walk and do some stuff for yourself,  to me it adds some value to it and that's why I'm always grabbing every concept demo being releaced in this forum. But again, although I'm not saying that it sucks or something like that, I see no point in a game were you just stay there doing nothing, leveling up and even buying and selling while you cannot do anything else.Anyways, I do agree in the fact that every developer  starts at some point, and lets see how this game evolves. I've not given a like just yet because, I'm not sure how its gonna get

You can't close the window anymore. You've got to schedule for five days. And some people are seeing GWX marked as an "Important" update.Basically, Never10 is now your only realistic option. Microsoft just don't give a flying wotsit, and will do whatever it takes for market share.I'm going to wait for WWDC, and depending on what happens, I'll make my plans. Hello. In the manage decks menu, when you hit enter on a card to add it to (or remove it from) a deck, there is untranslated french text (which I suspect says something like "Enter how many copies of this card you want in your deck.")Also, I'm having trouble defeating the swamp octopus in the poison gym, and I'm using a ground/steel/fire deck.

Hmmm, that might be why I don't have a problem, since they only send one or two emails each month, I never bothered to unsubscribe, it's simple enough to just hit delete.I don't know how many episodes of TNG there are, I know there are seven seasons though. Unfortunately, they only have 54 episodes, with a couple that can't be downloaded.

@Bhm, either the new version hasn't been uploaded, or the updates didn't fix anything. Same problems yet again, indeed even worse sinse when I first ran the game I got a  notification box I couldn't read with a yes no prompt, and hitting no just lead me to a constantly playing music track I couldn't get out of and no speech at all, while pressing yes got me back to sapi reading that menu in spanish (or whatever language this is). I again tried Luiji's suggestion of renaming  the English file to default, but it didn't work either I'm afraid.

@Luiji, thanks for the advice, but that didn't work either. I get some funny message box popping up with a yes/no prompt, but one I can't read, then another screen and when I hit enter it's still in Spanish (or whatever). I tried unzipping a fresh copy in case I set something I shouldn't have done and still, no luck. I think perhaps there really does! need to be a specific English version, or at least a reliable  change language function accessible at startup.While I still! haven't fixed this language problem and have no idea about this game, I will however remind people to bare in mind that "alpha" means not even a basic concept at most, it is like a framework. I was on the private testing team for Entombed, and the first ever alpha had no gameplay at all, all you could do was walk around, hear wind sounds and open doors. Well Jyro does use a lot of the same sounds in a lot of his games. I for one believe he will release the game based on the fact that he has eventually delivered in the past. Let's not forget that. Does his tendency to not release when he projects make me want to grit my teeth? Certainly, especially in view of the fact that I see real potential in this game. But swearing at him isn't going to make the game materialize any quicker. That said I like others will believe the game is ready when the email with the full version shows up in our inboxes.

Dark, the same thing happened to me. I also use the password reset method to get in. Everything had been working fine until I unsubscribed from their spammy emails. Guess they got mad at me because that's when I stopped being able to log in. I've had to use the password trick for years now. I even tried creating another account, but again, as soon as I unsubscribed from the emails I couldn't log in anymore. I attempted to contact the admins, but they didn't ever respond, so I finally gave up. If I want movies, I just do what you do and use the reset trick.

You'd be surprised at how often indie developers run into this kind of problem. There are a number of sources you could try mining for inspiration, such as a random name generator, Slavic or Germanic Deities, Greek or Legendary mythological creatures, or foreign languages like Latin. You could also try looking up technical terms and phrases if going towards a more sci-fi bent, or any combination thereof.

Even if there isn't any lag on the surver (which there for many people still is), you can produce it by just pooling the internet cable out, or turning of the wi fi and turning it  back on. Also, I'd guess they figured some other way to cheat besides the lag, though I don't know what it is.

While the game isn't much, we still have to remember that this compony is new, and that the game is a alpha.  The concept currently isn't much, because just sitting around while the game does the work by itself isn't that fun. But like I said, it is a alpha, and every developer has to start somewhere, and this is quite a good start. With a fiew (or well, a lot) changes, it could become a strategy game that is fun to play, even if it doesn't seem so now.In my opinion, you should continue to develop this, but you'll have to change a lot of things to make it worthwhile. But again, it's a good start, for one of your first games.

i think the biggest thing for me personally speaking as someone who enjoys the game I think the frontline battles are too easy. they need to be pushed up a bit. or at least make it so that the enemy responds to the amount of ships there are in that sector. I also think enemy ships should give chace if someone tries to get out of the sector to make quick repairs.

But it may be a good exercise for you to practice doing both to become more familiar with them, so if the guide says "to it in a terminal" it may not be a bad idea, but its up to you.@Ishan DhamiPythonWin can allow you to run python scripts without having to use a terminal, simply open the script in PythonWin, then open the "File" tab, select "Run", and press Enter. The keyboard shortcut is Ctrl + R, then enter.

I'm afraid I can't play this game because I can't get the game into English. i've hit down arrow three times to something that sounds like idiomair, then down arrow another three times to something that sounds like dry, (sorry but Daniel isn't good at Spanish, I assume this is Spanish though I could be wrong). I then hit enter and have two choices, default.spk or English.spk, but hitting enter on english just gets me back into that deeery menu item and doesn't change anything.I would suggest that either language choice needs to happen at startup with a menu, or else there should be separate English and Spanish versions.So, the game might be great, but some info on how to understand what is going on would help please .

well well, finaly  I gave this a try, and I'm gonna give my humble opinion. I don't wanna sound like one of these guys who attack the developers saying your game is not worth it, but as I said this is my sincere  opinion from what I've seen a few minutes ago.I find it completely pointless for a game to sit there and you having to do nothing, to me its a bit disappointing because in a game you're supposed to  do something with an objective. To me, personally, its not funny to go level up without your intervention, because you don't fel the satisfaction of leveling up.Plus, Where are the coins? how in the world do you get those? what are swets for and how do you get them? with this I don't wanna say stop developing it, but that's what I think about it. A game in witch you have to do nothing than itching your balls while you go level up, seems pointless to me

@threeblacknoises i chose fire/flying, which was a bad idea. Had I known the normal gym was first I would have definitely gone for fighting instead, so that I could hit all these normal enemies super effectively. Ah well. The energy whip card is by far the worst one, dealing like 19 damage, and I don't have anything I can do about it.

Sounds like it's more usable than accessible... I think Quentin C's gameroom seems to be the place right now, even though the community isn't exactly brimming over with poker players. haha. I might ask for those instructions though... because I'm curious. But I don't like the idea of hearing the cards only once per hand. lol

@DarkYeah, I have the same problem. When I enter my username and password, it displays the message saying "Error: this user is not active". So I wrote to the admins and they replied that they do not ship to this country and thus they closed my account. But the password resetting every time still works...
