Just found a bit of a bug. Spoilers ahead:When the Amica Town explosion triggers, it seems that if you do not press enter quickly enough after it says not again, when you do press it, the game will get caught in a loop of playing the explosion sound over and over again, and will never advance to the rest of that scene. Pressing enter will not manually advance it, so the explosion will simply play over and over until you die, not from any explosion, but of old age. Probably not a big deal, most people will press enter quickly enough, I just happened to pop into another window when it happened, figuring I had a few seconds to kill while I responded to a message, and was greeted with this bug. I performed it a few more times to make sure that time was the factor.

Hi all,If you are interested in audio games, please share.I was sitting at a restaurant waiting for food, playing Audio Game Hub to kill time, when my mom's boyfriend noticed me and asked what I was playing. At the time I was playing Archery, a game where you must shoot a moving target when it is in the center of the screen. He told me he could see the target moving as plainly as I could hear it. He was even able to tell me when I missed the target by a small amount before the game told me so. He also mentioned my mom had noticed me playing Tetris the day before, which I soon realized was the Blocks game. He expressed curiosity as to how I could play Tetris with sound, so I played a game of Blocks and showed him. I also recorded us trying to play a game together.For those who are not familiar with Blocks, here is an explanation as to how it is played. You have four assembly lines. Blocks of different types will slide down these lines. Each block type is repr
 esented by a sound auditorily, as well as a color visually. You can control where the blocks go as they slide down, but once they rest against the back of the line or against another block, they will stay. If you can stack three of the same type blocks in a row, they will disappear. However if you cannot stack three same type blocks, then the blocks will pile up, and could eventually fill the line. If a line is full, the game is over.There are four lines, but five different block types. Thus the task of stacking them as they fall is not a piece of cake, you have to choose your positions wisely. To play the game you need a bit of luck, and a lot of strategy and quick spacial focus. The luck element is created by not knowing which block type is going to fall when, while the strategy and spacial focus is needed to adapt to what's coming, and to do it quick enough to keep up with the ever increasing pace of the game.The recording I've shared is me trying to play th
 e Blocks game using its auditory cues while receiving visually descriptive input from my mom's boyfriend, who tried to describe the different colors of the blocks and how they corresponded to the block tones. Using both our strong senses, we were able to play the game together.One thing that struck me was that while the game cannot auditorily convey the whole assembly line at once, the on-screen visuals seem to give more information. Thus, you'll often hear my mom's boyfriend, who can see the whole screen seemingly at a glance,  directing me as to where to place a block, before I have time to find for myself where it should go. We even discovered that the blocks can be stacked horizontally. In fact they can be at any three adjacent spaces so long as there is nothing in between them to separate them. That is a hard concept to grasp if you're not seeing it. The game does not convey the screen in its audio representation, all you hear is the block that is
  currently coming down, and as you scroll through the 4 assembly lines, you hear the front most block on the line you are focused on as well. But there is no real way to tell where horizontal placement could be exercised to kill a group of blocks without doing a lot of extra scrolling and guesswork. Where as a sighted person can see the formation, the game cannot convey it. I don't really know how it could easily do it either, maybe the best way to go around that would be to remove the horizontal element? The game doesn't mention it, it just says you have to put the blocks in rows, which implies vertical placement to me. It does not mention that the blocks can go across columns so long as they still touch. I will see about contacting the devs about this.I wish more sighted people developed audio games with well-balanced audio and visual feedback. so this is more of a mini rant than anything, but yeahwhy the hell is it that installing a bundle of programs can so drastically affect your system? my computer was working just fine this morning, I found myself needing to install office for a few specific things that I'm gonna need to start using sooninstaller either blue screens my computer or restarts it without warning, not sure which because I was AFK at the timelog on... what the hell! why is... uh... why the hell does it take me approximately 45 seconds to open an application, and about 20-25 just to open all programs in the start menu?I managed to remove it after about 3 hours of trying and failing, thing kept freezingbut seriously microsoft? I only installed like half of the components and your thing can still fuck up my system to that extent?before anyone says anything, I'm convinced it was office because as soon as I removed it and restarted my computer, bam... lag's go

I really don't want to replay all those levels yet again. Wish i could submit my logs of the last few days and have myself put back the way I was before the crash. This database crashing and lost of data is sort of old. Now, as for transpertation, try using the teleporters at first. They can be a bit usefull at the beginning. If you wish instead to catch a transport, then the place to look for is different for different locations. space stations and factories, you are looking for access tubes. on planets, there is usually a landing pad or something. Did you try the LP command? Yes, it is a major challenge for new players. Also, yes, it may be time to work on those bugs a bit. As for the driver's license, you will have to go to the research center or station or what ever that is call. The teleporter can get you there. one of the rooms there should help you get what you need. As for the creation process, I agreed. It would be nice if I can walk back and forth through the r
 ooms until I get my description and stuff right. There other muds out there that seem to be a bit mor forgiving when it comes to the resetting too. The fat thing hasn't really bugged me. True, it is not all that funny after the first time or two, but it is not the one thing that would drive me away. It can see how it may turn some away.As for clothing, it I am not to sure where to tell you to go for some if I do know your race. Anyway, the only place I bought any was on earth. As for the players not having much time for you, sorry about that. Give david brooks in the game a shout out if you wish and I will see what I can do. True, some are more social than others. I would have thought that the newbie channel was to ask those questions that you did not know how to ask even though there is an IC way of asking.

I've been working on expanding the OpenAL Soft bindings in both PyAL and Pyglet to support HRTF. I've included these new bindings along with the required OpenAL.dll and HRTF table dependancies with an example script that demonstrates how to enable, change, and set HRTF for 3D positional audio. Both Pyglet and PyAL have 3D positional audio support through OpenAL, and I have some example scripts available that may help if your interested [here]. PyAL also has undocumented bindings for EFX extensions like reverb, echo, etc. The latest version of OpenAL Soft also has support for HRTF, and lately i've been working on expanding the bindings in both Pyglet and PyAL to make full use of all these functions along with provided examples.

Database loss, according to the announcements, which is actually a nice place to start off this post.  This game is already complex enough as it is and hardly feels newby friendly, so I doubt I'll be sticking to it much, particularly since I created my character for the first time on Wednesday night, only to have to recreate it today.1.  The creation process, while well explained is flawed in that, if anyone messes up, going back to a room to fix the issue is impossible.2.  The reset system is entirely unforgiving.  Supposing factor one is true and you mess up your character, you are allowed a chance to reset it every month.3.  Creation of this caliber without options to choose from and a chance to view the final description seems absurd unless you come into the game with detailed knowledge of how much description you, the player, must provide for yourself.4.  Fatfobia is something I find distasteful; that a game would mak
 e outright rude remarks about someone being too fat to walk through walls hardly seems professional.  I mean, seriously, who isn't too fat to walk through walls?5.  For the life of me, I still can't even find a landing pad, so getting started with anything, given that I don't know where to grab these so-called merchant ships to take to different planets seems ridiculously complex.  I've tried mpa landing, map pad, map docking, map dock, and have come up with a list of zero possibilities that make sense.6.  Your hosts and players are either too busy to help or too busy to care.  We asked for advice on solving an issue concerning wearing clothing owing to the fact that we received a message suggesting that it would be uncomfortable to wear any item of clothing we tried.7.  Not everyone is social.  I saw an instance where someone was told over newby communication that there best bet to get something done, whatever
  the something is actually escapes me at present, was to confer with other players.  Some of us are a little more interested in Mechanics.8.  Am I stupid?  Fine!  I'm stupid!  But how do I obtain a driver's license?  I can apparently purchase a transport vehicle to get to various places and such given my level only needs to be 1 unless I misread something, but I can't purchase it because I don't have a license to drive, apparently.9.  Hunting or hand mining?  There is, as far as I know, nothing suggesting one way or the other that I should choose one over the other, assuming I ever find a ship that'll kindly lift me off my planet.10.  Improvements are good, adding is wonderful, new features are great, but I've seen far too often, games that choke on excess material.  People get burned out on how overwhelming the mountain of features that require a ton of bug squashing, thus bugs never g

i just barely realized only the beginning of my post appeared. my apologies. I had a quick question and hope someone can help me. i use mushclient, and when playing quite a few muds, i noticed an issue and its in uoss as well. The issue is, that there is a lot of info but only a bit of it shows. For example, i looked up the archer help file and only 22 percent showed. I know this, because at the bottum it said "more, 22 percent" so my question is, how do i continue the file? I don't know how to make more info to show or to go to the next page, any help is appreciated.

@Nocturnus, that's a very interesting approach I haven't considered before but it definitely makes a lot of sense when looked at from this point of view. I'm still not entirely certain whether the removal of the headphone jack is a good or bad thing in principle. I believe it's a wise and possibly even innovative decision in the long run, yes, I do, but it was rushed. They should certainly have waited with this step at least until wireless charging was implemented. It makes no sense to claim that they want to get rid of the need for wires in their technology, yet still force you to use the good old charging cable while at the same time preventing you from using your trusty headphones. I would be very curious to see their Airpods in action, though, to see whether they've done something about the usual lag in transmision that Bluetooth audio devices often impose, and about the increased battery consumption on the iOS device when Bluetooth playback is active.
  Once the day comes when wireless charging is standard even for the iPhone, and the Bluetooth lag and battery consumption are long gone with most accessory manufacturers, and the price difference between wired and wireless headphones is not as radical as it is today, then I would be one of the first to eeagerly accept the removal of the headphone jack for the innovation. I tend to prefer wireless over wired, but only when it works as flawlessly and comfortably as most wired devices do nowadays.@Assault_freak, I believe Phil is talking about an adapter that has already been written about on various websites made by Belkin, with Rockstar in its name. I used to get on fairly well with the older version 1.0 of the game, especially since the tutorials are rather comprehensive (David Greenwood used to have some fairly good audio ones on his site), but I never quite got into 1.2 with all the various changes, particularly to how moves took place, whether simultaniously or not, so some advice would be good for me too.

There are actually 3 statues. You have to move all of them south, then the door will open. To fight the boss, all you need to do is use your main character to attack the boss from as far away as possible and use Lillia to jump over his fire attacks. Also, I am still just annoyed by the difficulty of the temple basement. I should have set marks or something on the doors. The only thing I need to know now, is which floor is the tree door on? I don't mean where is it, I just need to know which floor it's on. I think I've pressed the dark switch before, now I just need to find the light switch which is probably in the light door. And then, there's that last place then I have to probably fight the final boss 3 times.

Okay, I managed to get the achievement for defending the Zip File person! I really should know better than to try and get an achievement based on speed when I'm tired and slow to react.Now, however, I've discovered a problem and I don't know yet whether it was removed intentionally or it's a bug that now likely won't get fixed. I tried to get the 100-enemies-killed-in-one-level achievement by letting a virus get through near the end of the mini-game in Downloads a few times, but there was no message. You can still get achievements in a mini-game—I got 1000 kills again during my second attempt with the same game, and then tried using the bird in the second mini-game of that stage. I got Extinct Species, but not Killed 100 Enemies in One Level. I haven't read through the whole thread yet, so I don't know if Aaron decided it was too easy to get and cut it out or not. I'm getting close to catching up though!

Hello all,So, I'm now experimenting with making true 3d game in python where you can move in directions left, right, forward, back, up and down. So 3d sound will also be used.There's one thing which confuses me though. Libaudioverse's positioning works totally different than bgt's (I don't know if it's similar to OpenAl or not because I haven't worked with OpenAl yet). I've chose Libaudioverse because it has many advanced features that may be useful later if I decide to implement reverb for large arias, or filters for representing objects behind the closed door.So, in BGT you position sounds and listener by specifying x,y coordinates, e.g., 50, 0. Libaudioverse uses positive and negative values for this, and I'm not sure how to make it convertable to real coordinates, so instead writing (-1, 0, 0), I can simply specify x,y,z position of the object on a map let's say 50,50,0 and then convert it to values that Libau
 dioverse understands. I'm not the best when it comes to math, so I need at least some guidelines on how to achieve this conversion. Let's say the room max size is 100 by 100, and you can clime upto 100 squares in the air, the player is at coordinates x50, y0, z0 and there's an object e.g. telephone ringing at room coordinates x50, y50, z0. Please note that this game will not have turning like in fps. Instead it'll work like an rpg where you can move in 4 directions (north, south, east and west), and you can clime up and down, for example on a ladder or tree.I was trying to follow the code for Shooter game that was recently posted, but code is not commented with docstrings so it may take a lot of time.Thanks for any help.

Well, I learned that if you use a staff of obstruction, on a path that you were supposed to go down and then continue to play the game on autopilot (which I do for the first two floors or so) the game will freeze.

The gift moves were nice for levelling up Gronk, but I don't think I'll be keeping any of them in his final moveset. Toxic Tail will be a nice surprise to shadow types who think they can prey on Grandlan's magic type, so I'm keeping that around.

Well, by the smallest and less functional means I would try to convince someone to stay on Apple, and the same would do to convince another to switch to Android. Everyone has his/her choices to pick his favourite platform. I choose Apple not because I find it My God. I don't pray to Apple in hopes of improving my life. I choose Apple because it's an accessible and stable platform, and accessibility is what I'm in need of everyday, being at school, at home, at theatre, reading a document, writing an e-mail, and more. Apple has a more restricted system, and this, on one hand is a good thing in favour of accessibility. A team writing software will base her project respecting all the agreed rules and only by acting in this manner,  the project will be accepted. All the built-in applications are screen-reader friendly on iOS and this is because of a conclusive, organised platform. It is almost unacceptable that a company should produce applications that deviate its 
 rules.Android is cheaper, freer, less restrictedd, more customisable, but less accessible than Apple. Believe me, on Android mailing lists concerning accessibility, there is a greatly higher number of topics and posts requesting and explaining bugs that they find on the screen reader of that platform. Android is improved, yes, indeed, but not to the point where you can take advantage of all existing features of your phone.

I think its time that I gave voice to my thaughts, as well. I'm personally staying with ios, the main reason being that I use my phone mostly for games and the like, so on android I will lose access to a lot of those. Sure there are ports of some of them, but many aren't ported. The fact that I can change the home screen around on android really doesn't apeal to me that much, since I like the apple home screen enough to stick with it. Also, there's no android vis or anything like that, so I don't have any resources for accessible android apps besides word of mouth, and I seriously can't be bothered downloading 50 apps onto my phone just to see if they work with talkback or shine +. Before I was actually going to make the switch, but that was before I knew that apple would include a bunch of adapters in the box for me to use, without me having to potencially spend a lot of money just for a lightning to 3.5mm jack adapter, so I'm ok with the remova
 l of the headphone jack now. The only thing that bothers me somewhat is the fact that I can't listen and recharge at the same time, but but I charge seperately from listening most of the time anyway, and if it really gets to be that much of a problem I'll just throw out some more money to get an adapter with support both for a headphone jack and charger, which will doubtlessly be produced, be it by apple or some other company. Besides, I've been with ios for about four years now, and its always done the job.

Trust me, apple has time to try to convince me to stay with the IPhone. Android is a little tempting do to all the things that can be done on android. Apple on the other hand has to convince me that this change really isn’t just to lock me in, but the apps I bought is may have done the trick short term. Some of us listens to music and stuff over our headphones while having the phone charging. Yes, it may be miner, but it is enough for me not to upgrade my IPhone 6S that I just got last week. Who knows, android accessibility may be good enough when it is time for my next upgrade, but we shall see where apple is too. Yes VO works well, and I went with the IPhone because I know IOS. The problem with Android is the fact that you can so easily find yourself with an older phone that does not have the latest accessibility stuff that Android may or may not have included. Add to the mix, I have a an app or two that I use that may not be on android just yet. You may ask what I find interesting about android. First of all, you can get an phone with a memory card slot for one thing. Plus, if you don’t like the home screen, you can go and change it. The more I think about it, the greatest strength and weakness of android is all the variations that can be and are made to it. Yes, I am going to use my IPhone quite happily, and I will plan on looking at android. Just look mind you.

I kind of wish the multi hit things like pummel would be better... It's way, way too random currently! It even has a chance to hit 0 times. Could be nice if it always tried to hit 6 times, but with each individual hit having 50 to 75% accuracy. That'd make the damage a bit random still, but it'd at least be useful.

I kind of wish the multi hit things like pummel would be better... It's way, way too random currently! It even has a chance to hit 0 times. Could be nice if it always tried to hit 6 times, but with 50 to 75% accuracy. That'd make the damage a bit random still, but it'd at least be useful.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. Just do whatever you want to do with the enemies through the array. That's the point of the array being used in the first place. So, you shouldn't be doing standard.movement in your array loop, but rather enemies[x].movement. Of course, replace x with anything you feel like using to refer to the array index.Similarly, if you want spawning to occur at a fixed time interval, just put it in your main loop as well.Let me know how it goes.Lukas

Hi, Where’s the praise most of you guys gave to apple about its efforts towards accessibility?Just the headphone jak port made you so depressed that in three days you decided to switch to Android?Is it the biggest issue in the world so that the biggest fuss is being directed towards apple for this change?You already have a small adaptor not bigger than the headphone microphone port with its buttons which will connect your loved headphones to your iPhone. And that won’t cause latency in signal transmission.I’m not an apple loyal user, really. I came from the Android world and only after some days of using my new iPhone, I could see how different Voiceover and talkback were. I went to the point where I said that, if my language was supported by Apple synthesisers, I would immediately buy myself the biggest iPad on the market for my studies and get  going with it everyday. However, for those of you who are thinking of switching to Android, what will you miss from Voiceover?1.    Responsiveness.2.    Better speed and reaction on your work.3.    A significantly greater number of gestures.4.    Useful help for general navigation.5.    Easier navigation methods. Let’s include here the ability to change values by one swipe up/down and the magic tap gesture.6.    Roter (vital).7.    Braille keyboard built-in the screen reader. (very important)8.    Better support for braille displays.9.    Full support for HTML navigation (nearly forgot it).10.    Greater support for typing styles and phonetic feedback.11.    Pronunciation dictionary.12.    High-quality and fully integrated free voices for your screen reader.13.    Photo description.14.    Audio ducking, and audio ducking preferences.15.    Emoji support.16.    More accessible interface!So, make the decision yourself.I will personally stick with Apple, with or without the 3.5 mm headphone jak. Important to emphasise again, I’m not a loyal Apple user! Neither do I see Apple as God! That is blatent!

I don't have much experience with Android. Twice, I was able to Play with an Android device. The first time, it was a complete fail. Talkback was very slow, and very unresponsive. At that time, I tried it on a tablet.The second time, I tried it on a Samsung Galaxy. It was an older phone. I can't quite remember, which one. I am not really good with their phones. This time, it sort of worked. Though it took me almost ten minutes, to fix the voice Settings. Android, or maybe it was Talkback, felt very sluggish, in my opinion. I think, the phone was running Android 5. In case, there are People here, who switched from IOS to Android. Have you ever compared the accessibility of certain apps (Skype, Whatsapp, Twitter, etc), or any other apps? Could you generally say, that Apps, which are accessible on IOS, are accessible on Android as well? At least for me, that would make the decision to leave Apple much easier...

I feel for the people who use hearing aids. If ear pods have to go inside your ear, that's not going to work well. At least with headphones you can sort of put those near the microphones. Cochlear implants may have a better time since some support bluetooth, but again, you can't use ear pods because the microphones are outside the ear. Nice job, Apple!
