Hi Turtlepower.Well if you can get through it  here is the fake version of the song .And  here is the real version . The only difference is that they took out the original keyboard solos and replaced them with a gross synthesized guitar track. I can't believe people are allowed to get away with this sort of thing!As far as Janet Jackson, I don't think she can sing anymore. All her newer stuff is full of auto-tuning. I remember the song you're talking about, but i can't remember the name. If you listen to her older stuff she sounds very different.Personally I think Michael Jackson had more talent. I've noticed this, not just in music but in books, audio and videogames, and software. Somebody does something really awesome, and you have hundreds of other people that start doing the same thing!I think that's why I like bands like  cannibal corpse , because they're doing their own thing even if it's a little weird. Cannibal corpse is heavy metal more than anything else instead of pop, but I can't think of any unique pop bands right now.

Changing the time zone in Ubuntu using the CLI

Hi folks,I've tried two commands to change to my current time zone, adjusting the local time on my VPS.  I want to change to the time zone most closely related to America/New York, and upon returning the command timedatectl list-timezones, it is an option, but I'm not sure how to switch to it.sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdataThis presents a menu where I select EST5EDT.  It yields a change in the time being an hour behind me.sudo timedatectl set-timezone EDTThis yields the same result.Any help to figure this out would be greatly appreciated.Luke

HI Vcapparica.I've played a lot of fighting games over the years. I've never been able to tell where my enemy is, this is mostly because TV speakers are very low quality. But you can still play a lot of good ones and do pretty well.My favorites are all the mortal kombat games, clay fighter 63-1/3, ready to rumbble 1 and 2, most street fighter games, tekken 2, 3, 4, and 5, BlazBlu games (haven't gotten to those ones yet), super smash bros for the nintendo 64 and game cube. You might have noticed some of these games are ancient, but I couldn't resist mentioning them because their a blast! I haven't played on a console in a while because I moved, and somebody wrapped a whole bunch of cables and wires together and just threw them into a box. So now I don't know which cord goes to what. I have to buy new cables to hook up my systems.Hth.

Street Fighter V is a good one especially if you were an Alpha fan, which I was as well! And there's no game that makes it particularly harder or easier to play as a fighting game player who is blind, though some people find it harder to keep track of fast paced games such as Marvel Vs. capcom 3, Guilty Gear, or any similar ones. Especially now, fighting games almost all have audio that is in stereo which is relative to where you are, so you can tell if you're on the left or right side, etc, though some games still don't have this due to gameplay being prioritized over audio design.

If you were really a competetive player, you'll have a hard time finding people on a similar level you are here, I'm thinking. there are only a few people here who spend the majority of their time on fighting games and play at a higher level, myself included, and among that group, fewer still have actually been competetive players. but here's my take on both your questions.1. Yes, it is possible to be good without simply mashing buttons... and yes, it is eventually possible to tell via both audio, and using your spacial sense, to tell whether an opponent is far or close, whether they are coming in towards you and how to react. Crouching or standing is something that you likely won't be able to tell... since no game has any audible way of telling you that.2. What games to start with is too vague of a question, really... because any fighting game works to start with. That's purely up to you and what your interests are, and any generation of fig
 hting games will work. Without knowing those, it's hard to recommend games, since fighting games are all different by nature.

Hi, folks.Long story short: I was a competitive fighting games player until I got blind when I was 19-years old in end 2000. My favorite titles were back in the days SF Alpha 3, Tekken 3 and Tag Tournament, The King of Fighters from 97 to 2000 and Mortal Kombat 2 (never really liked 3, UMK3 and 4).Well, now I am blind and so I read many people here posting about playing mainstream fighting games on PS and PC, and I would really, really love to give it a try. So here I am with some questions for you wise blackbelts:1. Is it (enphasis) REALLY (ends enphasis) playable? I mean, there are essentially two kinds of players in fighting games, the ones who know what they are doing and the button smashers who repeat the same one or two moves again and again and sometimes end up winning a round or match. No problem at all with the second kind of player, word, games should be for fun, but I used to have fun being the other kind. So, honestly, I can spend some hours in trai
 ning modes, but will I eventually be really knowing what's going on on the screen in order to react appropriately? I need to talk to great players here lol2. Where to start? Which games are best for a blind player to master? Menus are not a biiig problem, as I can easely ask for visual assistance, I am concerned more about gameplay, for me right now it seems very difficult to determine wheter my opponent is standind, crouching or jumping towards or away from me. This seems abit insular. Audio Games are (or should be) a subset of the gaming industry as a whole, so it makes sense to start going through more indie/mainstream channels. Like writing articles or post-mortems on Gamasutra, devlogs on tigsource, indiedb, or itch.io, etc. Attending conferences like IGF, GDC, and PAX. Getting articles up on kotaku, pcgamer, destructoid, or rockpapershotgun. I know two writers from rockpapershotgun have written articles about audio games, the last one not to long ago involving roguelikes.I've also actually seen a number of posts here about mainstream games like the latest telltale games, GTA V, and others that people pick up from these channels or via word of mouth from the sighted people they interact with. Its abit of a gamble, but could help raise the genres visibility and attract people from other market segments as well.

When people talk about restrictions of the IOS platform, what is generally meant is that it's unnecessarily hard to work with your files in a reasonable fashion, unless you jailbreak. While many people make peace with this major shortcoming of Apple's file system, it can be irritating at times. And for some, it's a dealbreaker. I do feel that Apple lulls less tech savvy users into a false sense of security with this approach; after all, the average user thinks, "yay, no viruses!" when, theoretically, it can and most likely will happen at some point. And when it does, it will have a much more devastating effect on a wider array of users, simply because being caught off guard doesn't give you time to put up any sort of defenses. While some people will sneer at the Windows and Android platforms because they historically get hit by more viruses, I would argue that at least the media coverage, overblown and inaccurate though it may be at times, does at lea
 st allow people to know what they're up against, no matter what their level of technical skill is. Even the most ignorant among us know the terms fishing, zero day vulnerability, and ransomware, simply because they've been covered in the news. Whether they really understand them is a whole other topic.As for buying an IPhone just to play games on, I think it would make more sense to buy an IPod Touch for that purpose. It will save you a bunch of money in the long run, and most of the apps that run on an IPhone or IPad will run on the Touch as well.

I'm not sure which one you're referring to, but I hate it when these new artists revitalize a track to make themselves appear retro, when in actuality, they have no talent and need to piggyback on someone much older, wiser, and greater. Ugh! I remember how disgusted I felt back in maybe 2002 or so, when Janet Jackson released that song that was entirely based on Ventura Highway. I can't even remember the name of it now, but I can hear the chorus in my headAnd, keygen music is actually a thing? Love the really quick  times it took for some things to be made or done. now I finally got logged in properly it seems and all the work times are back to being really slow. as if I was playing single player mode and not the multi player like last month. so is this normal? last month it was not until i got my 2nd plot that the work times got really slow. My first plot was always really quick like. I'm not sure why you're limited to 10GB. I used to pay for a pro account back when captchas were much more frequent and annoying on that site. Speaking of which, that's really the only limitation you're going to encounter with a free account, the fact that every now and again, captchas will pop up when you attempt to download a file. Luckily, this has become much less intrusive over the past year or so. When they do show up, since the audio captcha system they use is pretty crappy, I tend to connect to the VPN I use, get myself a different IP address to trick the server into thinking I haven't downloaded anything so far, and go on as usual. But if you're only downloading a few files here and there, you really shouldn't even run into this problem. As for uploading, last time I checked, they have a flash based uploader that isn't accessible. You might try Zippyshare for a more accessible uploading experience, I believe you get unlimited storag
 e although each individual file can only be up to 200MB in size. Also, the file only remains on their servers 30 days after it was downloaded last, which can be problematic. But it is a completely free service, which is quite accessible both for uploading and downloading.

Hi Assault_Freak.[[wow]] that was scary. Especially the area 51 thing! The radio broadcast with the chanting and reading of people who died was weird. It reminded me of the papa sangre games lol. I think Jim Jones was the worst of those recordings! He was a monster and a false prophet! I didn't know there was a recording of him at all. I wonder if David Koresh made a recording of himself before he killed everybody in his compound?The Vietnam recordings I understand. That was a way to defend themselves. So many Americans were brutally killed going into those tunnels they were a terrible place. Something else I remember was the Vietnamese thinking the ace of spades or one of those was bad luck. The U.S. soldiers had an American playing card company print up packs and packs of them and would leave them behind in the tunnels.I can't think of any creepy recordings off the top of my head right now but I'll try to think of some soon.

I'm not sure what the Com0Com issue could be, but just throwing a couple of suggestions out there. Which OS are you using? If you're running Windows 10, do you have UAC enabled? UAC tends to do all kinds of weird crap under 10; it wouldn't surprise me if it's wreaking havoc with this installer as well. Also, are you trying to install the signed driver, or the older, unsigned one that was included with some of the earlier releases of Talking Dosbox?

I've already taken another backup. Ah, and i've seen two planes that have fled very far, and then disappeared, impossible to find them after this magical trick but all choppers are done. Am I tackling a bug? Maybe my backup have also the problem ? Maybe I forget something?And when i try to load a save in mission mode, my game crash. Only the load save game in main menu works.

Hi.Well sorry for bringing back an old topic but I just found out about this today. Rip Thomas Ward!I didn't know him very well, but we talked a few times about star trek, and one time got into discussing action figures. He had mentioned to me that he had a whole bunch of action figures from the seventies and eighties which was really cool. I wish I had known him better he was a great developer.It sounds like he had his share of problems but don't we all.I played tomb hunter a lot, in fact I remember checking the site every week to see if there was a new beta of tomb hunter posted. Final conflict was awesome too I used to play that one for hours. I wish I had held onto those games.I didn't know he was a guitarist, that's very interesting.It feels like we're losing great developers Jim Kitchen and now Thomas Ward. I'm starting to realize how short life is. I really need to start making games before it's too lat

Okay guys. First of all, about flexible survival mud. The mud is unusable, rather annoying, because you get every turn a stupid line which states over 20 stupid resistances. Imagine this and a lot more in every combat round: Coldadaption 0.5, fireresistance 2, lustresistance 2.6 and so on. About coc, the best erotic game which i found along with free cities and tits.

Think the only one I'd have on my top five that isn't listed here is probably lost souls. I'm sure I've ranted about it before, but its uniqueness and attention to lore always amazes me. Maybe there's not a crafting system (yet) but everything from the races to the classes to the artifacts are not stock -- sure many draw inspiration from other sources, but that clash of objects woven into a cohesive tapestry of history and myth just makes it all the better. Not to mention how awesome the player base tends to be, and how much attention is given to making sure the mud remains accessible.Others I'd list include seventh plain, god wars II, empire mud, and...ehh, I guess inferno moo isn't too bad for a while.

@Angel, I saw that addon as well, but as I said, with 2.0 there should be no problem with Nvda at all, I've been playing with it for months now. One reason your cosmic rage soundpack isn't working might be if your still using vipmud 1.0, since the pack is definitely made for 2.0, and needs the files put into the vipmud folder in my documents, not the one in program files as previous versions had. Hth.

I had the same problem. I'd suggest starting your game over, destroying the traininggrounds, the airbase, any fighters you come across, the power plants, the choppers, the bridge, the radar stations, and finally Brutus.

Hi razvitasca. First, what is the problem your having with Vipmud and Nvda? It seems fine to me in the muds I've played with it. I do recall the old 1.0 version of Vipmud wasn't supposed to run with nvda, but 2.0 runs fine as far as I can gather. As regards soundpacks, Cosmic ragehas a great soundpack for vipmud that can be downloaded in game, promethius also has one, while six dragons and materiamagica have a few sounds. I believe Mta's soundpacks for cyber assault and clok were for mushclient rather than vipmud. As regards sounds though to be honest I would personally recommend getting used to playing muds just as text. Muds are text games, and while it's awesome when a mud has a soundpack, if you limit yourself to only those muds with sounds, you'll be disappointed every time, heck other than cosmic rage and alteraeon I've never seen that many muds with really extensive sounds anyway (those in materiamagica and six drago
 ns are only for some extra atmosphere). There are lots of great muds out there that do not use sounds at all. personally I'd recommend cosmic rage for a great space game with good activities, Frandom if you like quests and puzzles, and if your heavily into combat Aardwolf or erion, while if you want lots of player interaction extensive crafting clok or rp,  then again you can also look in the five muds topic for lots of information on people's favourite muds so I won't repeat what I said there. Lastly I'll mention Alteraeon. I myself very much like Vipmud, I find it straight forward and easy to use and generally my client of choice when playing muds. However, I would really! recommend you download the MushZ pack for alteraeon. This is notjust a soundpack, it's virtually a full on audio rpg interface and functions as a separate program on your computer. Most muds are text, they play as text games and should b
 e got used to in that manner, but Alteraeon with MushZ is the one exception to that role, indeed in terms of how it plays with the mushZ client it's pretty much different from every other mud out there. So I would not recommend playing Alteraeon with Vipmud, but downloading mushZ instead for that game, though personally I do enjoy vipmud for other things, indeed I'm trying cyber assault with it right now.

hi all.I've gotten vip mud a long, long way ago, but didn't know for really much time what muds are and how to play them. so one day, when I found about alter aeon from a friend I started to understand what I've lost soo many years.so like I sayd, I've got vip mud and my fist experiences with it are nice, it's sad it doesn't work with nvda quite well.my problem is, I've never knew how to put a soundpack to a mud.speanking of soundpacks and muds, i'd want to try some muds, like clok, but don't have the soundpacks. can anyone help me?if there are some more nice made soundpacks for games, i'd like to get my hands of then.thanks a lot.oh and sorry if the topic sounds like hey can you give me that and that... Absulutly. I recommend need for speed hot pursuit too, but you cannot play this if you don't have a cooler under your laptop. With hot pursuit you can just feel you're driving. Keep in mind you can get wrcked in that game. The cop pursuits are wierd though. 1 or 2 minutes into the pursuit, the cops will disappear and they will wait until you crash and crash and die.

Okay after Xoron's mention of the mud in the five muds topic I decided to look over the initial glulx game a bit more, and indeed two of it's subsidiary games, this also lead to a complete revamp of the Flexible survival entry Read it here. Before we go on, note that all flexible survival games and indeed the universe  their set in are very much adult, r rated, complete with fairly extreme, actually over the top descriptions of forced sexual intercourse with monstrous creatures in extremely! graphic detail, so if your uncomfortable with such turn bakck now (this is one reason I'm just providing the db entry link and not the link to the blog directly, so people will have ample opportunities to read up on the games before trying them). Actually I'll admit myself  part of the reason I wanted to try the game was to see if I could now handle it, being that when I suffered severe g
 enophobia I tried the single game but found it too uncomfortable. I have not played the mud yet but have tried all three single player games, both the initial flexible survival, also  societies and the prequel flexible infection. The prequel seems a little bare bones and mostly involved in showing off how quickly a bunch of mobs can be mutated. Flexible societies I love the idea of, but I wish more work went into the game, for example, I coudlnt' find how to assign researchers to expand my populations pool of things like buildable buildings, likewise I don't know what could be built generally. The notes say flexible societies is basically a demonstration game, but I did wonder if there were any plans to continue work on it. Now as to flexible survival itself. I did find I enjoyed the mechanics, however I was finding, especially when using the wiki that a few things where somewhat obscure, eg, how to get quests and such to activate, though I d
 o like the fact that most npcs have a talk command. in particular, I was always confused as to when "explore" could be used at a given district of the city to generate random adventures around that area, or when it could be used to get somewhere else or reveal a new location, this especially became a problem when I got a quest requiring me to go and explore somewher,e like the firefighter quest. I also found very little by way of armour and absolutely no weapons which basically meant unless I took the extra strength points at start I was screwed (literally and often). This especially happened when I ran in to that dam wyvern, who seemed to be tough as nails and was a situation that got worse as I leveled up, since levelling up seemed to give one more stat bonus but didn't necessarily increase combat stats. Admitedly, losing in combat isn't too badd mechanically, but it could make the game  a bit futile and not in a good way. I wonder if part of t
 his was the lack of equipment, and in particular the lack of credits, since I noticed some good items to use for credits but I never seemed to have many of them on me since it seemed if you lose in combat you lose credits.I was rather disappointed as well that the "givein" command to give in to your infections and essentially get the ending where you lost all your sanity  fully became whatever mutant you currently were didn't seem to work. As to the game on the hole, to be honest I do wish I could distinguish the actual story content from the shock value and grose out factor. Really the descriptions are so absolutely  insane I couldn't take them seriously, indeed I will say comparing anything said to real love making makes the game feel rather childish, especially with the rather blatantly self done crude language, indeed I did rather wonder if the crudity factor went a bit too far since I did find it obscuring aspects of the game, 
 eg, when I wanted an npc to just give me a quest or an objective, or be able to buy useful rpg type of stuff from and basically every npc, even when not a monster seemed to be described iin terms of whether or not I would want to use the f*ck command on them.On the plus side, I did enjoy exploring the city, and some of the mutants in and of themselves are fairly unique, even if I did get a little weary of reading about their various attributes, I was also glad I got nvda to work with the glulx window. So aside from that I have a  questions about the mud. Reading the newbie guide I love the idea of crafting and combat, but there is a lot about the automap, especially in terms of jobs, actually the jobs system mentioned in other cities sounded really unique, giving you esentially gamebook adventures and mastermind puzzles to do, though it sounded very grpahical. how necessary is! the auto map to play? Do you need it for things like missions? since it i
 s referenced heavily in the help files. Another thing I could not work out was to what extent many of the things you got like professions, perks and abilities were related to rp, and to what extent related to in game

But here I have a problem with v2!Warning, the sequel could be a potential spoil, you are warned.I destroyed the guard towers, the tank and then the power plant in the ZE19 area. After the cut scene I took charge of the choppers quickly and here is my problem. No scene is triggered, nothing. Even when I move into nearby areas. Still, correct me if I say bullshit, but after the power plant I should go to explode the bridge then the radar stations, but why nothing happens? Do I have to go to a specific area? It's been two days since I've been going around and around, it's frustrating. The bridge is above a lake, if I remember correctly but I may say other bullshit. Could someone point me in and give me a trick? This is all the more frustrating when I think I finished the mm in tdv1.Hope someone can help me,greetings !

I've come across some of the other Cassini recordings, as well as those from Galileo, Juno, Van Allen, and Voyager 1 & 2 probes as they explored Saturn, Jupiter, Neptune, Ganymede, and earths own [Van Allen Belt]. You can listen to the whole playlist of 46 recordings [here], below are a few of the highlights.-Before entering orbit around Saturn in 2004, Cassini detected radio emissions on approach in 2002 which are related closely to the auroras of Saturn's poles, you can listen to them [here].-Launched August 5, 2011, the [Juno Probe] entered orbit around Jupiter on July 5, 2016 to measure its composition, which will continue for another 5 years, 8 
 months, and 29 days. You can listen to some of its recordings so far of Jupiters auroras [here].-The [Van Allen Probes] consist of two craft launched August 30 2012 to study earths Van Allen radiation belt, and are still currently active. They have recorded some rather unusual audio that researchers have nicknamed as "whistlers" or "chorus". You can listen to some examples of these [here] and [here].-[Voyager 2] was launched August 20, 1977 to study the outer planets, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune. While its original mission ended on October 2, 1989 after it finished exploring Neptune, its currently on an extended mission to study the outer reaches of the sola
 r system. Its been active now for almost 40 years and is still in contact through [NASA's Deep Space Network]. You can listen to the data its collected from Neptune [here], however there are a number of audio artifacts in the recordings, such as from Voyagers onboard power supply and other instruments.-[Voyager 1] was launched September 5, 1977 to study the outer solar system, and was launched 16 days after Voyager 2. Like its twin it has been operating for almost 40 years and is the furthest man made object from earth, having crossed the Heliospause to study the interstellar medium. Its mission is set to continue until 2025, where its expected that its radioisotope thermoelectric generators won't be able to supply enough power to operate its scientific instruments any longer.  en to some of the data its collected from Jupiters noisy moon Io [here].-[Galileo] entered orbit around Jupiter December 7, 1995 and was tasked with studying it and its moons, Europa, Callisto, and Ganymede. 14 years later on September 21, 2003 Galileo's mission was terminated and it was sent into Jupiters atmosphere to prevent the possibility of it contaminating any of Jupiters moons, a similar fate that Cassini shares.
