A shocking and depressing news!

Greetings to all fellow VIP gamers!Unfortunately, to all those of You who might care, I have to announce a catastrophic, extremely shocking news, a true disaster, which made me severely depressed!Some of You may know by now, that I totally lost my vision round 1 and half years ago, but that was by far not the end of all my miseries.It was not enough, that I lost my left eye right after my birth, due the carelessness of a nurse, it was not enough, that I had to live my whole life with only one functioning eye, it was not enough that a large, malicious tumor was encountered in it over 3 years ago...it wasn't even enough that I totally lost my vision due it round 1 and half years ago...now, at my last hospital control-check, it was told to me, that absolutely nothing more can be done to save my still remaining one eye, so that even my remaining eyeball must be removed, in order to prevent tumor-transmission-risks!I was also told, that this "surgica
 l intervention" will be inevitable sooner or later, even without any transmissions, due the enormous, unendurable pain, which will be caused by the constantly growing tumor.I was already proposed the eyeball-removal surgery, but normally I refused it for now, and decided to delay it for as long as it is possible...Even thinking of wearing a mere,  lifeless ball over my neck, so without even a sense of a single one existing eye, like some stuffed, glass- or plastic-eyed dummy...this thought still makes me so shocked and depressed, that I cry like a newborn baby!I appologise for disturbing You guys with such a disasterous news, but I just had to tell, to shout it out to someone, wether they will care or not!!!

Hi,@assault_freak, my posts are all over the place I know  but what I was going for was the experiences I have had with both samsung and stock android phones.Shrug, I dislike any kind of cultism etc what you will and tend to keep away. If I were a apple fanboy,I wouldn't have gotten an android phone just to keep up with both systems or environments now,would I?However I call it like I see it,and right now android has a long long way to go.This is me speaking from owning a samsung device a few months ago,as recently as April,and still own a moto g5 plus.You still! need to install a billion million apps of the same type to get things done,I.E if you need addblockers while browsing crome won't do,and believe me you do want a addblock on there,never seen adds make phones vibrate anything before but the open and free android lol, so the need for in
 stalling another browser, this is not relevant to you as you aren't getting a stock android moto g however,the camera app sucks not accessible at all,so another camera will be needed. Talkback doesn't duck audio well, so if you get a call,its a hit and miss whether you know who's calling,so... another appOn and on.If you'd like to try it for yourself though,and have a better experience,make sure you get a samsung as you and afrin previously wrote the voice assistant (That's the name of samsungs own screenreader) does actually come with that device,VA makes things a bit better.Another thing you may want to look out for is that the phone already comes with android N or 7,as they say it. as I owned a device with android 6,and believe me you don't want a phone with 6 on it,because the typing really sucks to high heaven,say what others may.Either way,hope that helps you some.Grryf

Thus far I've been even in stat points which is probably a good idea over all but not a good idea originally . I suppose it's grind city for me then, though at least if I can get more amo for the plate launcher by getting it again I can grind and do something useful at the same time. I could not get the iron balls because it seems they are on ledges that are higher than I can reach, hell I still cannot find a way out of that area if I go too far into it, it seems you get stuck down a gap that is too high for you to jump up again.Edit: okay I did kill the bear. It actually turned out what I needed to do was use the combat log, since unfortunately it seems there is no other way of knowing when weapons do zero  to an enemy, eg, the rope can kill insects but can't do green slimes. It seems you can only damage the bear with the pipe or the pl
 ate thrower, and I didn't realize you had to go back and get the plate thrower again to get more ammo. Still no luck getting those iron balls, indeed I have had to exit again from that area since it seems there is no way out without either the ability to jump higher or climb ledges. I suspect I am missing something in the jump controls (really after translating the entire game it seems odd the readme isn't translated too since I would've thought that would be relative easy and unfortunately the tutorial does not seem to go into enough detail on a lot of commands). I am however now on stage two and tangling with the desks. Annoyingly it now seems I can't! get more plate thrower ammo from the first stage. Still I am soldiering on.

Unfortunately I can't provide a windows environment (my server is Linux). but it sounds like your data usage will be a problem for you.If a single player is going to send 20 MB or more two and from the server per minute I'm not sure how you're going to sustain that. Even with just one player online constantly you'll be looking at almost 1 TB in a month.Sources I can find online suggest that games like Call of Duty transfer less than 100 MB per hour.Are you sending audio and video over the network? Why do you need to transmit this much data?So you'll definitely need to look at optimizing that or you'll be looking in the hundreds of dollars per month just for bandwidth alone and your player base will be impacted by the data caps on their internet connections.

@Magurp, yep your correct, I'd also recommend Tapped In: How EA Combined The Simpsons with Video gam bling to Make $130 Million  as a great  read on these sorts of practices. it's not just the game industry either. The other day Mrs. Dark and I ordered  from Pappa Johns, and basically found that if we spent over £40, we got a %50 discount meaning we paid about what we would've wanted to pay were the prices of Pappa Johns not stupidly expensive. So, Pappa Johns effectively charge too much and then have so called "sales" to make the customer believe that she/he is saving when in effect your just paying market price. Can you say brain washing by operant conditioning?Again all of this comes when the consumer has absolutely no power over the prices charged for products and companies reduce people down to the level of roar prophet generators in their production model, a trend which gets worse as monopolies increase, and individual consumer rights decrease  can anyone say Huxley?Bloody hell we're a crappy species!

That is just one of many tricks and the process can be far more insidious than you might imagine, especially on mobile. Its actually been a real sticking point for some ethical debates in dev communities. You'll often hear phrases like "Monetization", "Whales", "Retention", etc. It generally revolves around psychologically manipulative tricks like cooldown timers, rewards points, and micro payments where they give you just enough to keep you coming back to extract maximum value. In this case, getting as many players as possible and farming a known percentage of them to find "whales", big spenders who either through naivete or a gam bling like compulsion and weakness to those tricks supply most of their profits. PC tends to be a bit less exploitive, although there are still plenty of tricks at play. On steam for example people typically wait for sales to buy anything, because why pay full price when a sale is around the corner? So
  some developers up-price their games knowing that the true value they want will come during the "sale", essentially manipulating peoples expectations of value to get their desired profit. It depends on a number of factors and not all dev's use those tricks. The game works essentially like a mud eg, you see the text telling you someone is in front of you and have to type "fire" as quickly as possible. The problem is manifestly if your busy reading the screen with a screen reader your going to be far slower than a sighted player, especially since while the text is quite readable on the webpage you physically have to go and read it, it doesn't get read automatically as would h
 appen in a mud. if this game is to be accessible either it needs some sound for when your facing a person and able to fire, or at the least it needs a way for a screen reader to automatically read out the text when you type commands (and even then you might still not be on an equal playing field with sighted players). Perhaps worth contacting the dev about I don't know, though it also occurs to me there are many muds out there that do this sort of thing in a much more accessible way.

Just to clarify some of the debate—by saying AHC isn't triple-A we aren't saying anything about the quality. We're talking about the size of the developer, and resources involved in the game's creation. Like assault_freak said, $10k could never fund a triple-A game. Heck, it couldn't even pay the salary for one of the people working on a triple-A game.So since everything is relevant, one could say that by audio-game standards, AHC is a triple-A game because the time and resources involved are top-tier. I don't know if that would be a true statement, but it would be flattering. But in the overall game market, no indie game is triple-A—the two are basically mutually exclusive. If you are a developer big enough to be making a triple-A title, you aren't considered an indie. Hopefully that clears things up. Goodness, how do we get on these tangents?

@Tensoon, create as many new topics as you want, it's not as if we have a limited supply of them :d. To answer your question though, no, the game reading out your hp etc is not because it is inaccessible. Pretty much all muds have a prompt. This is displayed after every bit of text the mud sends you. Sometimes the prompt is just a greatherthan sign, but usually the prompt shows important statistics, by default in many games (such as Erion), it's  something like your characters hp mana and movement. In some games the prompt will display a word to tell you a condition, eg, when your character gets hungry or tired as well (clok does this I believe).most muds give you options to customize the prompt or turn it off altogether, some also let you have different prompts inside and outside of battle which you can customize. Generally speaking how you like your prompt is up to you. Myself, I like to at least know my hp in battles, prefe
 rably as a percentage since that makes it quicker to hear and don't mind getting some character stats outside of battle since it tells me when I am fully healed, how my mana is doing etc. Typing "help prompt" in most games (and sometimes help bprompt, that is prompt with a b in front), in games that let you set a separate battle prompt), will tell you how  to set the prompt to your liking. Usually it's a matter of typing "prompt" and some letters,eg prompt=h" to show your current hp, "prompt=Hh" to show your max hp and current hp or "prompt=%h" to show your hp as a percentage (note the different capitalisations).Hth. This is gonn be very odd, I'm a proud owner of the LG K20 Plus, exclusiely to T-Mobile and Metro PCS, and I'll be upgrading to the Stylo 4 Plus next yer when it arrives.I'm not sure why folks despize LG phones, especially since they have a nicer speaker on the back, and Micro SD card support  up to 2 TB.

There is a need for level-grinding, sometimes. I find attack, defense, and hp most useful early on, unless you're using the plate launcher a lot, but a more strategic spread quickly becomes necessary, for example a lot of tactical items require more points in tech. Actually, did you get the iron balls from 1.1? I don't remember if they're more effective against the bear at this point or not, but they do come in handy later.

Vectors would work if you're using floats or doubles, but for an int-based board, it'd be a little tougher. It'd also still be vulnerable to lag unless you made each step count as the same amount of time regardless of how long it really takes, but that should work with what you have as well.Basically, you want both clients to behave as though the exact same amount of time passes for both of them. This is where mainstream games use frames, and design for a specific framerate. So if an individual frame is supposed to be 10ms (100fps), even if the system lags for unexpected or uncontrollable reasons, the game would still behave as though 10ms pass for every frame. You would need to replace the timers in the ball class with numeric variables, and update those every frame. I tried so many things...Recompiling the game and uploading it to my website, and I even ran the compiled version of the game to make ure. I disabled software update checking, stuff like that, but still. I don't know what to tell you...I really don't. As for your little thing about the message of the day, about 2 or 3 days ago, someone had tried to hack the server and impersonate Sam Tupy. The asynchronisity doesn't have to be due to the network; the computers could have different specs, different background software running, or even the same background processes at different points in their execution. If something causes the system to lag, the game is affected. I'm not sure if something tick-based would make a difference, in this case. I'd say it'd be easier to use velocity vectors, but that might not work so well with the int-based style here.I think that using a global timer might help... Something you might try is adjusting the time when the movement takes place based on how long the previous move took. For example, if you want to force each movement to take as close to 157ms as possible, then you'd want the movement after the 157ms frame to last 143ms, and the 151ms frame is followed by 149ms. I don't see this solving the problem entirely, but if applied to all 3 dimentions, it might help significantly.

Greetings all. Today's change now makes it so that you are now put through the final phase of creation, skill selection, at the create a character section in the accounts menu, instead of having to log in and go through an area to do it. So no more being stuck after death. Simply delete and recreate if your one of the ones who was effected in creation and couldn't select your skills, and you'll be all fine.

Definitely going to keep looking... and the Samsung equivalent to Siri is actually known as Bixby in the latest devices. And there are only a few people who have told me that no major changes have happened... most people have said that the latest android versions have been improving more and more in most major areas.

Checking out GameFAQs probably is the fastest way to answer these questions.  I can give you a rundown though.  Fatalities, work in three different ranges, close, sweep and far.  Close you have to stand right against your opponent.  Sweep, double-tap back when standing close to your opponent and far is basically the other side of the screen from your opponent.  For the combinations you will have to go to gamefaqs or google.  There are too many to list here.For the X-ray moves.  LT plus RT when the X-ray gauge is full will execute the move.  Different characters also have different ranges here.  For example, Johnny Cage has to be close to his opponent where Kitana throws her weapon to activate her move, so she can be anywhere.  It might also be worth mentioning that Cyber Sub-Zero has a special condition for his X-ray, he has to be in the air when using it.For special moves you will have to look up a move list o
 n gamefaqs. There are too many to list.  They are usually two directions and a face button, like down, forward A to use freeze with Sub-Zero.  There are exceptions though, so look it up.  If you try to figure it out yourself you will miss quite a few.

Not much has changed since I owned my phone except web browsing which has been significantly improved. Other than that, I can't see any major change. For example, if you want Talkback to work faster, read emoji, and have a comprehensible synthesiser, you have to buy a voice. Google Talkback still doesn't support autolanguage switching. Anyway, If I'd go back to Android, I'd surely choose Samsung, particularly the S series. The only line of devices that can come close to iPhone both for sighted people and visually impaired ones. Samsung has a really nice set of accessibility features, particularly direct access, (the equivalent of accessibility shortcut on iOS), it has already a built-in text-to-speech synthesiser which supports around 25 languages, it has a really nice virtual assistant called S voice, and the camera can very well guide you on taking good pictures as a visually impaired user. Also, Samsung galaxy S 6, S7, S8, and the new series of Galaxy note c
 ome with Voice Assistant, a screen reader based on the Talkback interface, but majorly modified. I'd recommend Samsung Galaxy S7, as I don't see a big difference between S7 and S8. The Galaxy S8 is eccessively big; 5.8 inches, and I can't see the reason why would I buy such a big phone; in fact, a small tablet.

So, yesterday, I installed the app on my Iphone 5. I must admit, for a first version, it is pretty good. In my opinion it is not ready yet to use on a daily basis, since, at the moment, it's a real battery drainer. But if MS can fix that, this app can be usefull. Of course I wouldn't scan personal documents with it. That's what I have a scanner for. I cannot say, if it is better then KNFB, since I don't have that app. I wish, there would be a trial version for KNFB. Simply giving away 100 bucks without the chance of having the product tested is a bit much to ask, im my eyes.

I joined the group, thanks. I've pretty much narrowed it down to samsung phones... since the voice assistant reskin of talkback, from everything I hear about it, seems to be better than Google's stock android version. In particular, is there a reason to get the s8 over the s7 / a5? Other than the better screen, camera and iris scanner? I have a pretty good offer on an s7 for $375.

Connor, the issue is you're only in thre dimensions since you're going by three numbers and have no point o reference. I am all for this change to bring in more players with a system that is easier to understand and pick up quickly. The 3D stuf would still be in on atmospheres but the space stuff would in effect be 3D but on two axes. For what it's worth I did some resarching and found Nasa astronauts only really do complex 3D movements when they are needed with the SHuttle when that was a thing, and even then that was launch and re-entry and landing, in space they worked on one or two axis, at a time, e.g. docking to the ISS or orbiting Earth.Also while you o on abobut realism, None of us hae ever been up in space and none of us really know what flying a spacecraft like a fighter is like, but you have to in gam design, balance realism with making it easy to pick up and play and easy to grasp and retain players interest, if it's too hard they'll giv
 e up.

Mortal Kombat 9:  Combination help

Dear all,Many of you may remember this game, Mortal Kombat 9. Well, I finally have it for the Xbox 360.  However, I have some questions. 1.  What's the best way to do special moves in this game? 2. How do x-ray moves work? 3. How do fatalities work? Thanks to anyone who answers the questions, I've been trying to figure it out for weeks but alas, have little progress.

I'll change it, and give it another go.I was also wondering, the latest snapshot for NVDA, do I need to also install the cloud.OCR add on, or does the snapshot already have that in it? I remembered from earlier posts, you were saying something about changing the shift key cause it does something in the game, but now you're just saying incert R... help with beatstar.

hey, so i was trying to create a beatstar pack, and i've followed SLJ's guide, and when i tried  to run the tool that would make a BPM.txt file it says no packs were detected in the packs folder. i've tried everything: placing it in the packs folder with my pack, i've tried to paste it into the pack folder with all of the sounds, hell, i've remade the sounds, double checking that they're .ogg file and still, nothing! what am i missing? i have named my levels 1music, 2music, 3music, etc, the scenes as pre1, pre2, pre3, etc, all actions are a 1 through 5 and o1 to 5. i have fail and win, i have the main menue music, just ugh! it's still doesn't work!

here's my problem, it would completely destroy, aniulate, demolish, and dismember the fact that you're piloting a spaceship, in 3 dimensional space. I personally have never had trouble with the z accis, except in a few occasions with manual pilot.

Dear  all,I'm  having  a  problem  with  Miditext.  Unfortunately,  I  can't  even  open the program, and believe me, I so want to. I really do want  to  write  music, I've been  in band for 10 years and therefore would love to write music. If any of you could please help me, I keep getting an error that is not solved by opening as admin, that'd be  great. I don't know how best to copy errors to show you, but it's not a good one. Thanks for helping with this.

@trajectory,Interesting.  So could someone explain that to me?  How can network latency affect the timers in this case?  I don't send a packet with coordinates or timer values.  I merely send a packet which contains values for strength, speed, etc., and the machine takes those and then calls the NewShot function with those parameters, which then executes the code with reference to timers being reset, just as they are on my machine.  So wouldn't network latency simply make it so that his machine might make the shot after mine by a couple of seconds, but the ball still move the same way?  In other words, the receiving of the packet has nothing to do with the timers actually being reset, and the shot never even registers on his machine until the NewShot function is called by his machine, and that doesn't occur until the packet is received.  .  So his  computer might execute the code slower than mine by a few seconds, b
 ut the code still gets executed.  So the timers may not reset at the same time, but they will still reset before his ball starts to move, and since all parameters match related to strength and such, wouldn't those numbers make the ball land where mine did, since my timers were reset prior to movement, just as his were, and since I am using the same data that he is related to strength, speed and the like?  the ball may not land at the same exact time as mine, but it should still land at the same square, even if it is after mine, since it uses the same code with the same data as mine does.  Please explain this, if for no other reason than for my own edification and knowledge.Second question for anyone out there:  What would be the best way to alter the code in this case?  Is there any possible way to alter the movement so that timers are irrelevant and can be excluded completely?  Perhaps that would be the best way, since then I wouldn't h
