Re: What text rpgs are around?

Hello.Well I had a question are there any good sci-fi text games? Not muds, I've had enough of fantasy and sci-fi muds. I'm talking text games that have alien invasions, planet exploration, spaceships, mysteries, computers, artifacts, and things you would find in sci-fi movies and books. I checked out junction gate the other day and it got me in the mood to play more games like that or at least similar ones.Thank You.

2017-10-08 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — General Game Discussion : jeremydhartley1975 via Audiogames-reflector

Part one of the UFC2 demo/guide.

I have just uploaded part 1 of the UFC 2 guide. All parts will be links to mp3 files on dropbox, with the ability to save or open the files. I had considered making just a text guide, but I realized that I wanted to demo some of the NVDA OCR features, for those users who wish to tackle this game using OCR. It certainly isn't perfect, but can be done on most screens, as you will hear.A quick note about part 1. This part covers the home screen, along with a high level description of the order of menus, and each menu option on the home screen. I skipped over a few menu options like customize and play live events. For some reason, OCR is just not working on the play live events screen. So, I describe the order of the menus going from left to right (skipping over Customize which appears one down from continue), and then going down for the final few menu options. We may revisit customize and play live events later.Part 1 concludes with an OCR example.I recorded this so that you will be able to hear the Xbox sounds, NVDA, as well as my microphone. Unfortunately, I discovered that my mixer that I usually use to mix all the sounds has quit, so I had to get creative. As a result, you will hear a bit of an echo on my voice, because the processing on my microphone kicked in. Not much I could do about that, because if I turned all processing off, then NVDA would sound aweful! GrinI may rerecord all these when my new mixer arrives, but this will hopefully tide you over. GrinLink to part 1:https://www.dropbox.com/s/qkvnbpfv5h7j1 … 1.mp3?dl=1Next, in part 2, we'll actually go into career mode, create our fighter, and have a first fight!Jeremy

Re: nostalgia: all the things I miss very deeply and will continue to miss

I remember The SEGA Genesis and CD. Those ones had some neat stuff. There was a SEGA CD called Silpheed that I loved a lot. There was also a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers one that was basically playing through a few of the episodes by pressing the right buttons during fights. Certain games could be put in CD players and you could play the soundtracks. Sewer Shark was also a fun one. You go around shooting giant rats in this ship thing. Of course I can't forget the cartrege games I played on that either. My favorite one of those was the Star Trek TNG game. You could fly the ship and battle Romulan Warbirds in that one.A couple of my favorite games for SNES were Donkey Kong Country and Street Fighter II Turbo.Hmm. Let's see. What else? That computer that had the sound card with the MIDI sound I miss ran Windows 98 SE. I replaced all the Windows event sounds with Star Trek computer sounds. Fun times. I also found out that having a password on windows 98 was pre
tty much pointless. All you had to do was hit the esc key to bypass the password prompt, and everything was accessible to anyone anyway.I also remember... Floppies! Back when I first got that computer, all my sound files were on a ton of floppies. Lol. Fun times right there.

You can add Numpy to that list. Its a scientific computing library that provides a number functions written in C for crunching numbers and manipulating arrays of data. Its great if you need to do any heavy lifting or greater flexibility with large amounts of data. Its part of a larger collection of scientific libraries like Matplotlib, scipy, etc. among others for machine learning or genetic sequencing. There's also PyAL which is a thin OpenAL wrapper, and with a little tweaking Pyglet's OpenAL bindings can also provide advanced audio functions.

Wooo!  Super smash brothers!  man oh man that brings back a ton of memories of busted n64 controlers after trying and failing miserably with various characters to defeat the master hand when I was 9 or 10, tons of furious button punching involved, and that thing just kept doing whatever attacks it did that made my rumblepacks go psychotic and my characters freeze for the span of about 3 seconds.  I finally managed it though, and between a few friends and I we grabbed Nes, Luigi,  captain falcon and others.Playstations?  I loved the twisted metal series!  I found a bug in TM4 where if players 1 and 2 both fired Calypso's projectiles at precisely the right time at one another you could lock up the whole game and have your controlers continuously vibrate until you reset the system, while a fire loop just played across your screen... Nothing else you could do, really.Keep it up, peeple!  I'm totally enjoying this one!

Yes i also think having multipal servers is better. First of all, The lag in each server reduses because player will scatter around those servers and it will be much more fun to play. Also Sam tupy should not add all of the servers people request him to their servers be added in the server list. First of all, The server that should be added into the server list has to be online 24/7, The server need to have fare admins, And server owner/administrators should not make all of their friends(A tun of people) admin. This will take the fun out of the game. Although, I don't think sam is going to accept this suggestion but anyways. That was how my comment wanted to go

Well interesting reply nocturnus.I also have a casette deck and a digital radio. My now dead grandpa left me his old 1970s analog shortwave radio. Its needs a good service but it does work. There is not probably much in the way of shortwave out there now days.I tried my darndest to buy an accessible shortwave unit but failed big time. One thing I do miss is dos, now I do have dos but no synths to run dos though I have all the old keynote software here.Dosbox works but I have never got com0com working on my 64 bit box and I havn't messed with the emulator for a while. One thing I miss a lot is the pre spam is bad error. That was from 1995 when we first got the net to 2001/2002.In this era there was the first free drive system xdrive and that had a lot of free stuff that came with it.You also had the free net era which didn't last to long.I remember listening to music, downloading some stuff and being told t
o subscribe or run something to play it.I did and got subscribed to a newsletter with a lot of music reviews and things in it.One day I got a popup saying I needed to enter all my address information to get a free cd.I did this and got a free cd of weird stuff which I still have. What I miss is that your average junk mail was the same as well junk mail.It was probably lagit and probably by a big company somewhere. In most cases it was harmless there were even money making programs and the like. And before 2001 you could bet your dollar that at worst you would end up with something being delivered to your house.Sadly after or shortly after the blogging revolution in 2002-2004 things started changing. My first incling was that my security suite, norton at the time started to become more aggressive. After that, cloud networks came up.We also got news of the first actual spam/scam attack.Things have gotten worse from the
re.I stayed on my joke and family chat lists, mp3 lists book lists till about 2010 at which point there was so much with piracy laws and the fact of malware, fishing and ransomware most of which we never thought about at the start that I pulled out of most of it.It was about the time I quit third party security after some of it trashed the network.Another thing I really miss are the netguide cds and computer cds that came with magazines as well as how games were structured. At the start, your average game maker put his sounds in plainview in a folder on the disk and audio tracks on the disk so pulling these were no issue.Later on they used things like crf, and pk3 which were basically zip files with different extentions. Then I had to use dragon unpacker to get a few things. Now days if you want free sounds from your games its impossible to do that.Technically you can extract steam files but its not like you would necessarily want to if a
ll you want are sounds and music. Then there is the fact that while you can usually get into the files most are in cabs now or their own format but even if you could get in there there are a lot of encripted hex files.I also think that with the new tech and ways to solve issues we have lost respect for our machines. In the old days if you had an issue you may try to solve it now days you have almost no chance if its deep enough.I have people that say if something breaks, you start your recovery drive and it fixes it.Its just a reformat.Sadly if its not a checkbox or something fixable in a short time thats what I usually end up doing to.Technology as a whole is more stable.I have for example kept computers running for 6 years without a reformat. In fact I had to reformat last year because my system had become to broken for me to ignore.Sadly there were oses that I had to reformat more than others. The worst culprit was sad
ly windows xp, which unless you cleared run history with tweakui, it would  end up not working right and till I realised this I had to reformat constantly.Win98 was a stable os, se was anyway bar norton which had issues.win95 had its moments. And you never had to with dos unless you screwed something up big time and in 6.22 you could bypass the config files so.And while I had a memmory manager and extra programs, I really miss the fact that if I needed to really get to bios and the like with my old toshiba that I could just load the kernal and basically that was it and well run without configs. You can't run windows without services, or things like that.

I've heard this can be the case with other Roland products, as a friend of mine had an old Roland keyboard which had the same issue my FA does. With mine, and a few other people I've spoken to, the pitch bending doesn't go down all the way, and sometimes resets to a point slightly higher than normal, leaving everything sharp. Nothing seems physically wrong with the j
oystick when moving or feeling it, but the pitch bend messages it sends are broken (I've checked in a sequencer). My best guess is that something is screwed up internally and that it would need replacing. I've read about some DIY users trying to fix it and having little success, so if it happens you'd likely need to get it serviced. Mine started doing it after a few months, others have had more luck, and many others have never had the issue in the 5 years they've had their units. For the record I've had Yamaha keyboards, some lasting 20 years, and have not heard a single complaint from myself or others about parts failing with normal use. I do think their keys wear out a lot faster than Roland's. They still work but are not as pleasant to play. So you can't have your cake and eat it too I suppose. All you can do is keep an eye on your unit. Maybe this joystick issue is a thing of the past, but I just wanted to throw this out there because I don
9;t really know how prevalent it still is.Now to answer Speeder's questions.speeder wrote:Firstly, when trying to control the keyboard via qws, I get FA06 ctrl, FA06 daw ctrl, and FA06. no matter what port I use, the sound I get sounds doubled strangely. In QWS, go into options menu, then ports. Tab to the "use this port" check box and uncheck it. You have to do this to both ports individually. Leave the plain FA06 port alone; that is the one you need open. Then go back to the midi devices list, and find the midi out devices section which should contain the same three FA06 ports as the midi in section did. The two above ports I mentioned have to be disabled in outputs too, the plane FA06 port
should also be left alone. Now hit OK, and when you create a track, the FA06 port should be the only port in the list and it shouldn't produce any doubled sounds when you play midi files. You will, however, need to press the daw mode button on the FA06 to turn its local sound off, otherwise the keyboard will produce doubled sounds when you play it in a sequencer. One copy will be its own sound and the other will be triggered by the sequencer. It's been a long time since I've used the FA, but Nocturnus's description should help you find the Daw mode button. The button you are looking for is on the left side, and it is pretty separate from the others. When you press it, it will disable the keyboard's internal sound. If it's not hooked up to a sequencer you won't hear anything. If it is, it will play sounds as instructed by QWS, and you won't have doubling effects. Also, reaper won't use the in fa06 an
d out fa06 audio devices with wasapi.I've had bad experiences with Wsapi on my native sound card, probably because I don't know what I'm doing. Lol. I don't know how well the FA works with it. If it doesn't work, you can use Wave Out with a low buffer length, which is your next best option. I have my Wave OUt buffers on 48 and 32 respectively, and sometimes I can go a bit lower. The FA also has an Asio driver which would've come with the midi driver you installed. I'm not sure if you've looked into it. It doesn't seem to offer any inputs, but you can play vsts and other things through its outputs. The performance is pretty good, I've gotten the latency down to a pretty low level. I've found this really useful for midi sequencing.Adding insult to the injury of not knowing how to use the thing, it seems to not be giving me access to all the patches in a given
category, I only get about the first 6 patches in acoustic basses. Can someone please give me some pointers? When you first boot up the FA, you only get a subset of the sounds available to you from the front panel. There is something in the menus that lets you scroll through all sounds, but I can't remember how to get there. Not to mention, the FA's operating system was recently updated, and if this unit is new, you probably got the update right off.

Re: nostalgia: all the things I miss very deeply and will continue to miss

I'll address everyone, first by thanking you all for posting; I really sincerely apreciate it.  I'll also do each and every single one of you as much justice as I can because memories!  Woohoo!@Draq concerning post 11,There's some truth to your pondering; as a child I looked ahead and wanted to grow up.  Now that I'm grown up, I want to be a child again.  No, it probably wouldn't be the same if I took a trip back in time and kept the memories of everything I know now and, perhaps a better way of phrasing what we're all doing here is to say that we can appreciate the different times we've had in our lives, which is why a little nostalgia helps us sort it all out and see it for what it is.  Still, from this side of life you do miss being a child and a bunch of things that came along with it.  When you consider a life on average can have as many as a hundred years in it, and laws in many places in the wester
n world seem to regard you as an adult anywhere from 16 years onward, you truly begin to realize that you only have a small percentage of your life to freely enjoy before responsibilities sart piling on.  It's getting worse by the years; I don't remember having homework at my son's age, but he gets the stuff all the time.As I posted above, however, this isn't supposed to be a let me wallow in self pity because I've lost things I can't get back topic... I really appreciate everyone's replies thus far and look forward to more.  Three and 4 reenforce the feeling I got when I heard AOL was discontinuing AIM and which started this whole topic, that it wasn't too long ago that we used to chat and listen to music in completely different ways.  Six?  I sympathise with you... I stole a book called castle in the attic and don't remember what happened to it.  I have since reread it thanks to the bard service provided b
y NLS.  Eight?  I'm with you too; my younger sister, cousins and I spent most of our childhood outside, riding bikes, rollerblading, soaking each other with water guns and garden hoses long after the sun went down.  One of my favorite tweets of all time illustrates a 90's kid talking to a present day child and saying, "Hey, lets go to the park!"  The present day child responds with, "Are you sure they have WiFi there?"  We didn't used to care so much.Nine, if there's any little devices I learned to use to their full capacity, the braille N Speak and Braille Lite have to fall into that category.  I demonstrated a bug to a friend in which he password protected a file on his BLT; I moved it to flash memory and was able to access it regardless.  Ten?  Spot on about the feeling to some degree, but wrong in many senses... I can point you to tons of songs in the 90's that promoted sex, drugs and viol
ence.  You're right about one thing though; as technology has progressed we've become a rather disfunctional society that cares more about the quantity of friends rather than the quality of friendships.Thirteen?  I still have tapes and even some records and, bless me, a way to play them both.  The last stereo system I bought back in o5 still plays cassettes like a pro, while a friend of mine actually has the record player.  Fourteen?  My brother did the playing... I did the listening.  It was better that way in some senses because I always knew he was going to get to the end of the game and I'd here practically every sound associated with it.  Nowadays I listen to speedruns on youtube but it's not quite the same. Two?  I never had the privelage of dealing with the machines you mentioned, but the bike riding was fun... Yes, I still did it even though I was blind and have videos to show for it because my parents th
ought I was the brightest kid on the block and treated me like I was the stuff of legend, superhuman capabilities that allowed me to hear and feel things that just seemed to astound them, until I pointed out that if they would just pay a bit of attention they could honestly do it as well.  It's easy to distinguish between the sounds a dime and a quarter make, or a soda can versus a can of beer when both are being opened.  These are things sighted people take for granted because of the most magical of accessories on the human face, the human eye.  Today, my hearing is nowhere near as good as it was 20 years ago... I don't ride bikes anymore, and I can't tell one can from another.  Most blind people want their sight restored, and I suppose if you had it to begin with that is something you should want.  I personally want my hearing back, but wouldn't argue to having my sight, if only to be a better parent, a dad who can take his children to
fun places without the worry of having to call someone else just to get it done, no cabs, no buses, no extra transportation assistance required.I hope I got everyone, because I truly meant to.  If I still haven't, you're about to be addressed, because if there's any one thing that

Well, the keyword is experimental, and the key needed and the AACS library doesn't ship as is written. So you have to find them yourself and put them in the right directories... which I've tried with no luck. So unfortunately, I'm forced to rip the discs and play the converted files rather than being able to load the disc directly, which would be nice.

I do like the atlas feature of it. That'd be bad ass for learning the geography of a place.

hi.firstly I have sent my sounds to orin and he says he will put them on his website so they have a permanent place.I agree with everything that has been said, I both like and dislike eurofly at the same time. I have big periods where I don't play it at all because I dislike it's lack of realism so I use fsx. I know that it would be difficult to make an accurate simulation of a plane just through audio and a keyboard, but I was hoping for something more when I first got eurofly. Maybe that was wrong of me and I was expecting to much. Every so often now I go back to eurofly and enjoy the fun of flying a plane manually and change a couple of sounds, but then I get board again. I go back to fsx but i'm hoping the new version will at least be something new. I guess I owe a lot to eurofly, it was what got me into flight simming and showed me it was possible.. The new version will be interesting and I will definitely take a serious look at how far eurofly has
 come.

Hmmm, I'm a bit late on this one, but this is tempting me to pull my old char out of storage and give clok another go. I didn't notice lag, but on the other hand I haven't played for a while.

Re: Looking for redspot feedback

First of all, since Sam has been surprisingly quiet about this massive update, not even bothering to post on here, spread the word about it. Tell your friends that stopped playing redspot before because of the imbalance. I bet you guys see what I meant now about your suggestions already being in .A couple things.@62: Making the p key dependent on range was already suggested by a beta member a long time ago. Not only is this insanely unrealistic (Using a shotgun doesn't cause you to only see 15 feet) it also blatantly gives away weapon ranges, something that Sam wanted to avoid, thus why specific weapon stats aren't listed in the readme. He wanted you guys to have to play with the many weapons as you find them and figure out what's cool about them and what isn't. You should be able to silence any screen reader by pressing alt. And yes, the camera is fi
xed. It's right there in the changelog. Have you even played the update?@70: I believe there is a /mute command to mute a person's pm's, but if there is that's all we have for now. I'll bring it up.@71: It's a bug. Believe me, no one would ever intend to do something that irritating. It'll be fixed in the next client update.@72: the ban list was cleared except for a few extreme offenders, and your name doesn't leap out as being one of them. The server has unfortunately been having many lag issues since the update, any of which could have caused your connection to go unnoticed by it. Sam's trying his absolute best to tackle them as they appear, and he's been doing a bang up job, but they're still all not entirely gone. I will say it's at least 10 times better than it was 12 hours ago, so if you tried before then I'm not surprised you weren't able to connect.@73: Can I ask what imaginary game
you were playing? I saw you on redspot, but you must have been playing another one in your head. As far as I have ever been made aware, there are no proper buildings in redspot, at least not yet, and when there will be, I highly doubt they will be set up like that. Sam was tossing around the possibility of them being destructables, and they can't easily be destroyed if they're like stw buildings. I agree, shift enter would be a dumb way to make redspot buildings because you wouldn't be able to use them tactically at all. Unfortunately, we don't have precision aiming yet, so sniping out of windows would be tricky if not impossible, but you can still throw a pipe bomb out a window :d.Finally, to the people having problems unzipping the file, you have joined an alarmingly large subset of players with this issue. Several beta members and UKA players reported having the same problem, however they must have gotten it fixed because if they didn't we'd s
till be hearing about it. I'm not sure what to say other than try downloading it and unzipping it again on the off chance that it downloaded it incorrectly.

Re: Junction gate

2017-10-08 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — New releases room : Dark via Audiogames-reflector

Re: Junction gate

Hi. Thanks for the info on the game. I've been playing a while longer  now and have unlocked science and economics. One thing I do notice access wise is that where as the screens for  resource facilities and workers are very good for landmarks such as buttons and headings, the ones for assigning funding research or investing in stocks are a little more confusing, then again I'm not sure how this works exactly, eg, it seems you can only assign one lot of cash to funding, but each project has a listed cost? Or do you basically just have to pay the entire cost of the project, then assign workers the projects will eventually complete? Then again, I do confess I'm not sure how these aspects of the game work, and thus far my main problem is lack of credits, since I'm not exactly certain what I should do in terms of stocks and coorporations and still am only getting a basic income per credits a second, indeed I'm not exact
ly sure what the economics buildings such as the stock share prices and trading exchange are for. I know the principle is to buy stocks in corporations and then sell when they're doing well, but I'm not sure what to buy or indeed whether I'm investing, and the screen is something of a wall of numbers there.I would like to sell some of my excess resources, since I tend to have a lott, though I suppose I need to get to the point of actually constructing ships for that. On another access front, I notice that I can use the I key, move to list item in nvda to go through all of the various tabs, as well as change the top display, however for some other odd reason I also skips between the numbers  for resources and rates and the speed buttons, making it not much faster than arrowing down. Usually with a screen reader to get to information quickly you will use page formatting such as headings, tabula elements etc (headings especially), eg, to find yo
ur last post in this topic I simply hit shift h to go back to Virtuosi Media and then  down arrow a few times to read. This means that while it's generally very easy to quickly get to the info in the main tab, eg, the list of buildings by hitting h  heading or b for button, it's not so easy to find the amount of resources or ratings without going to the top and either having to hammer the I key or down arrow. Since it's important to keep tabs on both  amounts of resources and rates of production at all times, this is info you need a lot, and need to check sometimes in a hurry, so I was wondering if perhaps a heading could be added to the top of those displays so that they're easy to get back to instantly. I admit this is more in the matter of a comfort than a necessity, still anything that speeds up page navigation can help. :Lastly, You could also consider adding a ping for new log entries,  as I've missed a couple goi
ng on.I'm really enjoying the game, it's great to finally get a single player 4x style game, since thus far pretty much all accessible versions have  pvp heavy online hacks of who can minimax the best, so a game like Junction gate is extremely welcome.

A universe of crazy

A universe of crazy

Two major updates to report on this grim and grimy October morning which hopefully will help to stave off the grimness at least, for the grime your on your own.First off Crazy party everyone's favourite battle card playing minigame infested, world traversing random party fest of craziness, -probably because it is thus far the only battle card playing minigame infested, world traversing random party fest of craziness, has got a new version. Beta 51 of the game involves a huge range of changes including a hole new world, and not the kind that comes with flying carpets and princesses. For full information see Yonder topic Then, we have an all new release, Junction gate. This puts you alone in a vast and empty universe, on a barron planetoid in a distant cold future with nothing but the hollow shell of a space station to sus
tain you. fortunately, said hollow shell isn't actually that hollow, since the space station is full of deep frozen colonists and long dorment robots. this means you have everything necessary to build a new society, provided you can keep your population supplied with air and food, mine enough ore for your various building projects, and treat properly with your galactic neighbors. Anyone who has wanted a single player space game in which you must manage resources and survive over time in a complex, procedurally generated universe, Junction gate might be just  what your looking for. the game is played in a web browser so is mostly text, but has background muusic and sound effects, and the developer is actively looking into access fixes. So anyone interested should not only check the game out right here But also feel free to ask questions and report any details in this topic in new releases Happy gaming.

Re: New sonification software for increased accessibility

@CAE_Jones - Fantastic reply and lots of great ideas! I've got this gut feeling that while tracking game movement by tracking input might work at first, it would end up drifting out of sync in pretty short order due to changes in framerate. Also, there might be issues of feedback delay from mice/keyboards/joysticks and O/S versions that would make it a bit of a nightmare.I was thinking about how your save-monitoring sonification worked, because I don't know for sure. My best guess would be that the save-state only has the level, the players, current score, health and any enemies saved, and maybe some additional housekeeping -  so it's a relatively small amount of information to parse and the file format for saves has likely already been documented? Then you just trigger game saves maybe once a second in a background thread and parse the save data to provide sonification? if so then that's definitely thinking outside the box and I whole-heartedly app
rove! That cane-like scanning idea is superb - as soon as I read it I was thinking about different ways it could be implemented. I may well follow up on this, but right now I have to get SoniFight ready to ship. I thought it was going to be ready two months ago, and then I completely re-worked the audio logic and added features. Definitely in feature freeze now and aiming for end of October!I still haven't looked at vOICe, but I assure you it's on my to-do list.@death - I've never played Yu Gi Oh Legacy of the Dualist, and you don't mention what aspects are and aren't a good 'read'. So, while I really don't want to over-promise and under-deliver, from looking at a quick skim of gameplay footage I'd say it's quite likely that SoniFight could help with sonification of this. But please do be aware that to provid
e sonification for any given game a suitable config needs to be made.

Re: Thinking of getting an Android phone

Well, to be honest, I was hesitating between the Nokia 8 and the Galaxy S8, but I still think I will buy the S8 because, as you said, the gesture is closer to VoiceOver and the bloatware isn't a problem. And the screen may be bigger than on the Nokia 8, which might make it more comfortable to use, though I think that depends on personal preferences.

Re: What TV show/movie are you watching aka recommendation and reviews

@Player, Enterprise is something I've not really bothered with. If I ever get into netflicks and could watch a series without actually having to own it I might at some point, though at the moment I'm happier going for series I actually want to buy and own on dvd, then again I also own voyager which I admit was possibly a mistake on my part since I definitely agree with the comments, a cool concept but definitely not enough done, especially with seven of nine and her bloody nanoprobes that solved everything! honestly from when she joined the crew the thing became deus ex nano machina .Ds9 is pretty awesome, I've been reading a rewatch blog over on tor.com which is fairly spot on and has been reminding me of all the good moments, though if you enjoy Ds9 I would also recommend Babylon 5. Indeed in some ways B5 is an improvement since there things go fa
r more to hell than they do in Ds9, characters are killed and tortured and change sides and all of that fun stuff, yet it's a complete story with a complete ending and a great universe as well. I'm not one of these people who think ds9 was copying b5 or visa versa, I have enjoyed both in the past and would recommend people try both out, heck there was even some actor cross over with Walter Kernig who played Chekov on original startrek as the slimy psicop Alfred Bester, and Andres catsales who played gi-ka as the romulan commander tomolok, as well as the actress who played Lita alexander being a regular stunt double for Kira and Troi. As to spongebob, since I was born in 1982, I was a little too old for that generally, though if the chance to check it out comes up I'll give it a try.
