That's making MIDI-based music. What about something that is purely generated by computer, such as the Forrier synthesis discussed earlier? Okay, I heard of two plaes, bitcoin dot com and bitcoin dot org.When I went to the first web site, it told me to download a wallet for my platform. I downloaded a tar.gz for my Linux distribution, and a zip file for my Windows OS.I was doing reasonably well; I created a secret pass phrase which consisted of several words you had to memorise and put in order. Once the wallet was backed up, I was at some unlabelled button with the terms of use. I couldn't get past that, so I gave up. I tried to see how far I could use it with Vinux, but I only got as far as extracting the tar file with the tar xvf command. I couldn't find any scripts to run.So now I'm even wondering, how exactly do you use bitcoins apart from storing your funds? How do you convert your money from your card to bitcoins and vice versa?I heard that 1 bitcoin was approximately 1 US dollars, but that doesn't make sense.Can someone provide me with more information on how to use bitcoins?

hello, this sounds a great game; and i note that you state it is chapter 1. so, can we assume that others are coming and it will be i assume a 2 year wait or so between each chapter? i agree a short even just five minute gameplay demo would be good. are we free to walk around and explore? i know we have a story to complete but i assume we are permitted to not follow it in a liniar way? finally will the title just be in english or other languages too? can't wait see when this is out, early 2018 could be anytime big smile.

thanks for your post. Oops, looks like I got that wrong lol.I did actually fix it. I had to do some weird stuff. First, I tried installing like 0.9.1 which was the latest version. It wouldn't retrieve an access token which it needs to communicate with twitter. This happend after I uninstalled and reinstalled the qube, because I thought that would fix my issue with the tweets. So then I decided to install 0.9 which was the next to nenewist version. It then worked and retrieved the access token for me. Then I reupgraded my version back to 0.9.1 and it seems to be working now. I'm not sure if that was just an update patch or something that I installed, which might explain why it wasn't working properly. But now it's working at least.

QWS (Quick Windows Sequencer) + a soundfont driver + good soundfonts + recording from your sound card? I'm sure  that Reaper is better, but I know nothing about it.I use Noteworthy Composer, from a very old setup file, but I assume accessibility hasn't improved in the meantime. I made liberal use of the tips and help file when I first started using it, and I'm still using a version with a .hlp help file, so that does no one any good.Anyway, I have no idea how editing events works in QWS, but the menus and dialogs are pretty straightforward, and the onscreen keyboard is an input option.

It's more complicated than that, especially at higher levels, but I can see how you would feel that way. I think Tekken 7 has scaled back combos a bit. Juggles are still a big part of the game, but learning how to avoid launchers is just as big a part nowadays. The only people caught in endless juggles are people who aren't careful enough, and that includes me. I'm no pro, either, but I appreciate the nuance of how complex of a game Tekken is and that Juggles don't form the be all and end all of the game. I will agree on the music aspect, thogh. I personall think Tekken 7's story mode did a good job with special tracks, especially with the final fight between Heihachi and Kazuya. But the regular music from other stages... not so much.

hi.SI I downloaded the new update of the qube twitter client for windows. However, I am having a problem.Apparently, it supports 240 character tweets now, but it is still only letting me enter 140 character tweets. Does anyone know why this is?

Hi,Does anyone know of such a game? I've tried many games like Atorian, Ogame and the like, but they either reset or noone's around. Astro Empires looked promising, but paying accounts have a tremendous advantage over free accounts.Customizable ships, deep research trees or something that differentiates it from other games of the genre would be a plus.

newer tekken games, too much bouncing?

So I'm not a pro or anything, but I've been playing tekken for a good while, and it seems that juggle combos have just completely taken over. It's to the point that I'm not enjoying picking up new chars and learning them anymore, because it all just feels the same. Launch the guy with d/f+1 2, then follow up with some more 2 hitters to dribble him like a basketball. I don't know, maybe it's just me. I know that these sort of combos were done in earlier tekken games, but I don't feel like they were so common. Anyone else noticing this? Also, the music isn't even almost as good as it used to be. After tekken 5, literally no tracks stand out in my head lol.

I am going to likely assume, no. At least for PC's, they'd have a lot of extra coding to do for each screen reader. Most likely all would be "self-voicing" to the ear. If any text, it'd be for sighted users only.

Classic Shell Question

Hi all,I've been using Classic Shell on Windows 10 for a while and have a question. I'm using the classic mode in the Classic Start Menu settings.How do I disable the recent items behavior? The start menu is constantly updating with 5 icons that relate to the most recently used applications. Each icon is activated by pressing the number 1 to 5 on the keyboard. How do I disable this behavior?

Weird behavior after installing Jaws.

First off, Chrome is my default browser.  I also use an app called Edge Deflector to allow me to use Chrome out of Cortana as opposed to Edge, and I like it that way, but after installing Jaws, My start menu results started opening in Internet Explorer as opposed to Chrome, but I am o longer using the Jaws method since NVDA works nicely for me, and is less annoying.    Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure the full quality voice isn't found inside the IPSW file. The operating system downloads the necessary files from a server.Have you tried extracting the dmg disk image with 7Zip? I'm not aware of any other tools on Windows that can access these. If you're using a Mac, just open the dmg file and it will mount the disk image.

better yet, figure out your boot menu key. on my dell, that is f12. f9 and f2 are common. then, power off the laptop, power it on. while it's powering on, hit the f key. up, down, up, down. then, when you feel like it's enough, press the down arrow, hit enter, wait a little. now, attempt to start narrator. you may need sighted help for this part, I personally didn't.

Lol, I was not being serious with my comments about the peasant village, it just always! seems to work out like this . ~As exodus said, it would be nice to hear some gameplay, even if we didn't understand as  precisely how the combat works and what is going on, it'll at least give us an idea of how the game plays, just the same way a graphical trailer would and give some basic ideas about things such as speed of attacks etc, especially if as you said enemy intelligence is a factor. this would especially be  good if it  isnt' possible to produce a demo of the game for people to try out before bying.

Microsoft Edge already more or less works with screen readers. Both NVAccess and Freedom Scientific are working with Microsoft on Edge accessibility (they literarly have meetings every few months to discuss Windows Accessibility). The reason it's not yet anywhere as polished as Chrome, Firefox or IE is that for Edge, Microsoft has started doing what Apple has been for a while and making the screen reader do less of the work, relying more on the Operating system and the browser to make websites accessible. It's a big change from the virtual buffor aproach that has been used for the last 18 years or so. Once everyone has gotten used to working this way it will work much better with modern apps that now try very hard to feel like normal applications.Marco Zehe who works with Mozilla did a far better job explaining this and his post is absolutely worth a read if you're curious why Edge support is taking as long as it is to get right.

Hahahahaha I feel like I'm winning some sorta local Darwin award over here.Remember a while ago when I tried to connect but couldn't? Well guess what, I was running version 3.5!I was out and about on the new server for an hour or so today, got disconnected twice recently. At first I thought it was my own connection and that I accidentally knocked out my USB-device but nope it was still there and others confirmed they also got booted.My trackpad is  a pain in the ass though. This whole laptop is. So I'll get high tomorrow and connect my mouse. Which requires me to first connect an extention to give me more USB ports because an idiot designed my laptop. It's a nest of wires but I'll be kicking some ass tomorrow. I promise, it's time for me to adapt, go through the mental exercises I used to, to be alert and I'll be maybe not the top player but I swear I'll attain my status as best ever sniper again.

Yes, I found the bookmark manager menu, but will have to study it a bit further, it seems quite complex to me at the 1st look...But what you told about importing bookmarks, gave me an idea...maybe I did have the option, the alternative to choose the folder I wish to import them to, and I missed to change it from Firefox to Chrome...or something similar.So maybe I will just delete all the imported bookmarks, then re-import them again, by watching the location or folder-name choice closely.

Unfortunately I can't help you, because I am not using the steam version. However, I think your autosave will be created once you complete the first mission. You can do that using the autodrive mod when you get outside of the bank and you need to drive. You can also save manually after the first mission. Simply press the up arrow once to access your cell phone, press left arrow once and press a/x to open the save menu. You can now press a/x twice to save.

@Dragomier, most currencies in the world convert fairly easily, especially if Cloverbit are using paypal, so it doesn't matter whether you pay in Euroes, dollars, pounds, Yen, australian dollars or whatever, I've been buying things in Euroes and Dollars with British pounds for years and never had problems . @Cloverbit, I've had a look at the page with nvda and google chrome and it works fine (I also signed up to the news letter),  definitely intrigued by the mention of minigames. I also wonder if we might hear a demo of some combat to get an idea of how the situation works. What I am wondering currently is how things progress with respect to the echoe location system mentioned in the features list. The features list also seemed to indicate that the game, while not turn based would have different interfaces for combat and navigation like an rpg, which sounds  since one of the major problems we've had in the design of a lot of audiogames is that they tend to  default to a "hear and react" model where the player hears something and needs to react fast, rather than make judgement calls about a number of factors going on at once.I also find the mentions of the story intresting, albeit it sounds like yet  it sounds like one of those "oooh no my peasant village!" type of situations . Really if I were the mayor of an isolated peasant village somewhere and we happened upon a mysterious amnesiac child or orphaned baby lost in the woods, or  a pregnant woman came to the village just in time to have her baby and die, while dramatically leaving a mysterious locket/weapon/book/note to be given to said child when he/she (but usually he), were old enough, I think I'd have the child packed straight off to the nearest evil empire in the area with a polite letter explaining that yes, we had found the chosen one and here he was, so no need to send  beastial hoard or try out that magnificent new weapon on us, thank you very much .Oh, and if the child had sparkling eyes or a runic mark on it's forhead or a dramatic scar, i'd probably just pack up and leave town immediately .

Well when i imported the bookmarks in from Ie, they all landed in the bookmarks menu, which I was glad about since I have over 15 years of favourited websites in there.The problem is bookmark management is still a bit clunky though I hope it gets better in the next version of either Chrome or Nvda. Okay, firstly when saving a page to bookmarks you can save in whatever folder you want, if you use the applications menu can find the "edit" option you can move a single bookmark to a folder and create a new one. For moving things in and out of folders, like for example stuff out of "imported bookmarks" and into the main bookmarks folder, you need the bookmark manager. You can tab to the folder's button and hit it  tab to the folder you want and hit right arrow to expand, you can then go into the next box and hit shift a to select all then use copy and paste. the problem is, the boxes are stort of weird, you can't really select the individual bookmark items too easily and get no notifications, about what is going on, neither can you arrow through them as you would normal files in a manager, your always at the bottom of the list and the lists have a weird wrap on them. Also, finding any functions is sort of odd, since you need to go to the "organise" button and hit up and down arrows. I really hope this aspect of chrome improves, though for the moment it's easy enough to save bookmarks and even create folders, it's just major reorganising that is a pest. Hth.

Sorry again for the inconveniences with our site. A wrong attribute specified the site language as italian, while everything was written in english. Well, IE was one of my first real web expiriences, it's sad to see it go down like this. How ever, I have switched to edge ever sinse I have started to use nvda again after system access, witch didn't work at all on edge, even worser is that some of the good features of SA that worked in IE didn't work at all in edge but that's the different story. How ever, latest NVDA version and Microsoft edge work great, only bad thing is that for some reason you cant navigate by vizited/unvisited links and some other cool stuf but some basic stuf like headings and links still work. All in all Microsoft edge isn't as bad is you all may think it is. n Well, it at least isn't for me

Back when I started playing Alter Aeon in 2002 or so, I started to wonder how the magic worked. How exactly does mana get consumed and allow a mage to throw balls of fire or bolts of lightning around? More importantly, assuming the magical energy is coming in contact with the caster's hands for things like lightning bolts and fireballs, how is the caster not harmed by his or her own magic? It's a game, so who really cares? I guess I do, because I like things to make some sort of sense.Enter Dentin's Alter Aeon Game Physics Page, which explains a few things about the physics of the game. Included is some talk about the raw elemental planes, which are where the elemental energies for fire/ice/lightning/crystal come from. According to the page, mana is used to pull energy from those planes, and the caster is able to form balls of fire, shards of crystal, spikes or walls of ice, etc.But how is this accomplished? The page says nothing about how magic is actually done beyond pulling of raw elemental energy from the planes. I believe I asked Dentin some time ago if the caster is somehow pulling the energies into his or her own body an then releasing them, and he said it worked something like that. This still begs the question of how the caster isn't harmed by his or her own magic, because I imagine drawing even a small amount of raw elemental energy into one's own body without some sort of protection would be pretty dangerous.So, I have some theories I'd like to put out there and see what everyone thinks. Dentin and the other admins are of course invited to confirm/deny/clarify any of these if they wish to.First, what exactly is mana? Mana is used to cat spells. As ar as game mechanics go, it's used to limit how much energy a caster has at his or her disposal for casting spells. Each spell takes a certain amount of mana to cast. As far as game physics goes, I think mana is some sort of energy that responds to thoughts and has a limited ability to interact with physicalmatter and raw elemental energy. Maybe it's like the Force in Star Wars. It's everywhere, including the raw elemental planes. Everyone has a bit of a personal supply, but ultimately it's everywhere and in everything. Perhaps it's some sort of particle type phenomenon like the Seithr in BlazBlue. Maybe the Prime Material and elemental planes are separated by an ocean of mana. We don't really need to define it too much since this is a fictional world we're talking about, but it helps.How is mana used? My theory is that when used for elemental spells, the caster, with the ability to direct mana with his or her thoughts, creates a link to one of the elemental planes with a tendril or tube of personal mana. How much elemental energy needed for a spell is going to affect how much mana is needed to contain it. Once the link is formed, the caster uses it to gather the raw elemental energy from the plane and into his or her body. The mana acts as a barrier or insulation so that the elemental energy never actually makes contact with the caster's body. I'm guessing that Mana also has the ability to shape the energy, so the caster most likely uses his or her thoughts to shape the mana, which in turn molds the elemental energy into the desired shape, such as a fireball. That's why fire is so easy to control. It can be molded easily. The other idea is that the elemental energy is what's being molded directly by the caster's thoughts, and the mana is just a container whatever the shape is. I haven't quite thought about how it works for lightning, but elemental ice energy probably interacts with water vapor in the surrounding air to make shards, walls, spikes, etc. Cone of cold and ice shield are just pure elemental cold. The page says the liquid crystal of the elemental plane of crystal actually phase changes into whatever solid form the caster needs.When the spell is ready to be released, the caster mentally hurls the mana, elemental energy at all, at the target. Just before the spell reaches the target, the caster allows the mana to dissipate into the environment, allowing the unshielded spell to impact the target.What about things like the force field spells such as fly and Tensors' floating disc? These things are likely just pure mana. Remember I did say that I think mana can interact with both physical matter as well as elemental energy, so a mana force field shouldn't be too out there. As for the necromancer, druid, and cleric spells... I'm not entirely certain. Maybe those operate differently, as they're not drawing from the elemental planes.This should make for some interesting discussion.

Actually it is working just the perfect way for me now, since for those sighted users, like relatives and guests of mine, the text-correction is still active, they may find it useful when writing text on my computer, but it doesn't bother me, slow me down, or obstruct  me with its "incorrect word" announcing anymore.So the current solution suits me just fine!However, when we are already at the Chrome topic, there remained one more small adjustment, which I intend to fix, to make the browser functioning just the way I wish:The bookmarks imported from Firefox are currently placed into a separate group from those pages, which I bookmarked in Chrome so far.Using bookmarks makes my life, and I guess the life of the most blind computer-users much easier, and their internet-surfing much faster in general, so I would really prefer having all my bookmarks, meaning from the both type, the fresh ones, and the ones imported from Firefox, in the same place, stored and listed in the same group, so I could access them even faster, and more comfortable in the future.Summarized, I wish to move, or gather, aka MERGE ALL MY BOOKMARKS into the same group, both the fresh-bookmarked pages, and those imported from Firefox.Any ideas or suggestions how to perform this?

Swamp is finally up and running on a brand new server.  I ordered and set up the new machine last week, but today turned out to be a good time to finally make the change over.  Over the next few days I may have to tweak settings to get everything running as it should be, but for the moment it seems to be correct.  My hope is that everything will run smoothly and Swamp will march forward on this new machine for the next several years.

Well to be honest ie is still usefull  for things like gmail because basic html you can't switch it by default without it aparently, and I really don't care for the inaccessible graphic shit they call an interface even though there are supposed to be accessibility guides I just can't get the hang of it.As for firefox, I am completely off firefucks!The major concern I had with it well several are at least 3 fold.The first is the multiprocesser stages they have on it will cause websites like youtube, nasa and others to become unresponsive and cause the pc fan to race and the cpu to go full bore.Thats not really helpfull.Next the new web extentions.While in theory I like the idea of a more secure experience they took the top level infobar like menu and but puttons which we as blind users can't access  so new noscript etc just doesn't work.I did manage to get it working, however with their article on accessibility slowing things down and or causing spyware issues my suspicians are they probably don't care for blind users any fucking more and I don't either.Chrome, the biggest issue for me is 7 and the fact a lot of stuff is unknown.While it did have promise after I cleared my drive off with disk cleanup it happily womped bits of my addons which I had to reinstall for sound.I use waterfox from waterfoxproject.org.Its got no issue, optional multi cpus which is off, no tracking, no spying, aparently, and runs the old addon systems.Its not a mozilla thing either.Its aparently supported by an environmentally friendly search engine to.The only drawbacks I have seen so far as while it does not have all the extra stuff mozilla has it also uses a slightly older engine.So things like all the extra filetypes you enjoyed like mp3, ogg, zip and other archive types forget it you will have to set these manually when they come up.It supports some web playback, and pdfs natively but thats all.However unlike firefox I don't have inaccessible addon settings or missing menus.I don't care about the spying everyone does it but the fact is that now I am running a crapless brouser now which the devs promise to keep xul and xpcom the tech supporting old addon types even have an addon store well cool.Ofcause noscript and a lot of other things will not get updates after firefox 59 so if you need the latest updates this aint for you.It allows for installing what you want, sadly the drawback means you could probably get an malware attack from an addon but as long as you don't install opencandy, install core and etc be carefull you are ok.It does state that this thing is for geeks and those that know what they are doing though.I have found it quite fast, there are no lags etc.However it must be a few engine versions back from 56.You don't get advanced things like podcasts, pocket, shields or anything.Its basically languages and thats it.A simple shell over the mozilla core what firefox was like 2-6 years back.I'd actually prefer a 56.0 version of the firefox with the extras but on the other hand this thing just doesn't care that much and is stable.The reason I didn't drop to 52.x esr is that I never found an accessible user agent to run and at any rate, it woud upgrade to 59 or 57 anyway eventually.I am happy I use this version.The last update was october but as I said this aint mozilla.I could care less about fully being secure, I just want something that works right now.I know there are probably safer ways to handle things like screen readers but to be honest we are not there yet and with what mozilla is saying, and the fact thunderbird hasn't been updated in ages I do wander what is going on with the company.Its clear though that no blind person ever tested firefox, because the 2 holes are the buttons and limitations on web addon ui etc.

I actually don't use a diary at the moment but think I probably need one . I did look at the office one and yes, it's rather crazy, the problem as I said is I do have a tendency to get rather distracted hence why it'd help  have the diary come and get me, rather than me have to remember to check it . I do remember to check my emails regularly and this  but whether I'd remember to check a diary without being reminded I don't know.

Just gave the demo another run through. The gameplay is rather easy, but the soundtrack and the way your actions fit into it is really awesome. We don't want to give any misleading information, since we are currently testing the game over every aspect and this can introduce serious bias in our estimation of its length.However I understand your concern about this, and if it can help, I can say that we have about two hours of dubbed dialogues and cutscenes, and since this game has a lot more content than only dialogues and cutscenes, we expect it to last no less than six hours, probably more.Anyway, I assure you that this information will be public before the release *smile*

Dark, has your magic deserted you in a recent avian encounter?  That's almost like not remembering to look at your emails.  The self installer will put a short cut on your desktop.  All you have to do is hit enter and if there's no boing boing sound then you're free for the whole week.  I have used the calendar on Microsoft office and it's about as accessible as a 365 column spreadsheet.  By the way, what diary do you use at the moment and how easy is it?

This sounds extremely awesome, I definitely like the idea of exploration and of there being graphics in the game, since I always like to use what vision I have when i can. My only concern reflects the length of the project, since unfortunately it has happened in the past that developers come up all guns blazing with a detailed game with great voice acting, and then the game proves shorter than expected, still we'll see, and I definitely look forward to finding out what the game is like for myself.

Orko, I'm using python to create a GUI and I'm putting an Ariel font on the screen.  It looks like text but it is a different animal to the text inside a window such as Microsoft word, or a text field on your browser.  The colours on the GUI are not chosen by the operating system, the colours are either set by me or the user.  Also, as Dark mentioned, such preferences are also very informative to developers choosing colours for game objects.  For example, in my spacey vaders game there were vividly coloured alien spacecraft but also some black ones to balance the game a little back towards the audio gamer.  I'm hoping I'm on the right track and hoping it's useful for some folks, but I'm in the same camp as you, I can't see what's on the screen either.

No kidding. So many unreliable devs have made me skeptical over the years. But I seriously doubt they'd release the soundtrack if they weren't planning to release the game. I use manage disks in windows 10 to do this without issue. Unless you're trying to get back something like other OS's ext3 partitions you don't need to go 3rd party in my experiences.

Thank you guys, we really appreciate that!SLJ, the game provides a graphic representation of the scene from above, even if it's not required to play, to allow sighted players to play! Moreover, when the plot intensifies, dialogues will be accompained by hand-drawn cutscenes.There will be no major differences between desktop and mobile versions, aside from the input system. I agree with you, a few years ago wouldn’t be possible to publish games of this size on mobile devices. Just one warning, it will be bigger than the average mobile game, so be sure to have enough free space! You will find all the requirements in the app store.This is mostly because everything in the game is dubbed, from the menus to the extras in the background.I’ll talk to the tech guys to let them know about the suggestion to publish it for Apple Tv OS, too. Even if it is not currently planned, if there will be enough interest about this platform we’ll definitely consider it!
