I grabbed the realtech audio drivers off their website. It seems to be working now as my speakers show up as realtech high definition audio device. But when I try actually plugging in speakers, namely my 5.1 surround system, I don't get prompts asking me what I want to assign the connections to, and no sound comes out of those chanels. The nly sound I'm getting is the headphone channel at the front of my computer which comes up automatically.

What AHC had going for it that most audiogames lack? Pros with stable pro-lives, pro-level experience, a team with specific tasks, lots of meticulous planning and care (it was better than anything I've ever done in 2014, and that was before the pro-class marketing and fundraising, etc). This was some medium-sized company levels of care, resources, and professionalism, and if Out of Sight had been a medium-sized company instead of a small company, I can only imagine where we'd be by now.I cannot do that. Most of the current crop of prolithic devs cannot quite yet do that, but maybe some among them can within the next 5 years. You need a lot of things to go right, and the group of people interested in this community and the group of people who can consistently bring enough of those things together to truly and satisfactorily innovate are rare to overlap. Most of those who can find something more worthwhile to do with those superpowers.At this point, I'm wondering how Nyanchan pulled off so much awesome over the course of not even 5 years. With Manamon, we saw VGStorm's progression from Adventure At C: through Palidin and Psycho Strike and The Gate, and Psycho Strike was partly a collaboration with Philip Bennefall. You can follow the progression. Yukio just kinda showed up with half a dozen solid minigames and an RPG, without any signs of business-like strategy in the background in spite of continuing with better stuff for years thereafter. It'd be nice if more of us could manage that.TLDR: AHC doesn't change much because no one around here, other than like 2 people, show signs of being able to replicate what made it possible.

@assault_freakWindows 10 should support Realtek audio cards out of the box, but I have experienced issues even when upgrading Windows to build 1709.I suggest that you grab the Realtek driver package for Windows 10 and install it.Unfortunately in addition you'll get some crapware, but you might want to create a clean driver backup of all non-Microsoft drivers for later re-installation.To export and import non-Microsoft drivers under Windows 10 follow this guide:https://www.top-password.com/blog/backu … n-windows/

Since Jade has dragged me into this discussion -- at least this new branch of the discussion, as it were -- without actually mentioning my name, I will state here that cheating a game is not against the rules. The mods cannot punish me, someone who cheated my stats with a free and open source cheating engine, for doing something I did not do on the forum. I said I had done it, yes. But I didn't break any rules whatsoever. The fact that it may or may not be paid is irrelevant. If we banned people for cheating games from the forum then most, if not all, of the people on this forum would not be here today, since I'm sure that all of us have used cheat codes or other cheating methods in games before. Was cheating it wrong? Yes. Did it make it fun? In a way, it did. Did it give me a significant advantage over the rest of the players when in online mode? Yes. Is it reproducible? Yes, with difficulty. The fact of the matter is you can't say that cheating is against the rules since I have no doubt that ever single person on this forum has cheated a game in one way or another, whether it be cheat codes (legally or illegally obtained), cheat engine, memory modification, etc.

Try looking for drivers based on the model number of your sound card. I'm surprised Windows 10 didn't automatically go out and grab the drivers automatically.

Yaye, all these skills I didn't get to see before, and now I get to use them!Especially the ranger is allot more useful because of it.Precise shot is awesome, especially against dragons, and crossbows just make it even better.volley is also amazing...  Switch weapons is extremely useful, and so is the fact that now everyone can use a bow if needed, with varying success of course, but still...Gwen's elemental strikes are awesome too.

Is it time for a new paint job?

So I'm sure that after this post I'll be vastly unpopular, but I feel it's worth discussing.We are in the year 2018, and have just had a pretty successful release in the form of A Hero's Call. While I will be the first to tell you that I understand things like these are not something that just happened over night, is it time to reevaluate and go right back to basics, as it were?I'm talking about things like:What makes this game any different to the 5000 clones out there?What will make people want to come back and keep playing for longer than 5 minutes?When I sit down tomorrow and hammer out another game, will I think about the game I just made yesterday?How can I get the best with my sound design with whatever limited resources I may or may not possess? (I know that last one is a very grey area).How am I going to market my game, should I maybe seek advice from other successful candidates?If this a practice game, maybe state this in my thread when making it? (Hey, everyone starts somewhere right?)Should I perhaps implement a pre planning stage before I start making a game?I know that this barely  scratches the surface, and that there are tons of people who are in lots of different environments with different levels of expertise, potential language barriers etc, but I'm only saying this with a care for the community, and so much untapped potential.Again sorry if this came off really harshly, but I feel that it really needed to be reiterated.I welcome any discussion, criticism etc you may have.

Bookrage,There was a forum user last year who used a tool to edit stats in Manamon. Nothing happened to him.There was a player who said he would do whatever it took, including hacking, to have a game he didn't like taken down. The game in question was, I think, an Ultra Power clone, but again, no punishment.I've seen people warned for flaming other users who backed off for a day or two, then started up again later, and presumably weren't dealt with in any way that stuck.These precedents tell me that either 1. the mods are more permissive than I'd probably be in the same situation, or 2. there are elements of all those situations that I don't understand. God knows that's possible.But when MusicalProfessor got himself a permanent ban and then made things worse, it's a case of "lock the door and throw away the key until further notice". Bear in mind, please, that I'm not arguing that his ban should be lifted right here and now. No, he's not going to get a slap on the wrist just because others have.The real question here is whether this behaviour on the part of the mods was accidental or deliberate. If it's accidental, then bringing it to their attention the way I've done may help a great deal in setting future precedents. If it is deliberate, though, it goes back to what I said before...either there's stuff I don't know, or there's a bit of an issue based on which buttons are being hit.I'm clarifying this for you so that you understand that no, I'm not actually suggesting this is a deliberate precedent. I think it's very likely just happened, and I've gotten to see it in progress.

@NocturnusI think it really just comes down to finding that balance between making sure that as many players are having fun as possible while ensuring that things don't get too far out of hand. As far as the amount of these topics that are popping up surrounding this game, I personally don't see this as irritating/annoying. I certainly think that the amount of people who are wanting to share their negative experiences (the experiences that are genuine anyways) from playing should be taken as a sign that something needs to change. How many topics like this one have we seen recently? Enough to know that there are enough players who aren't entirely satisfied with certain aspects of the game. (the majority of issues centering around how the game is moderated)

@joshknnd1982Just a heads up, Microsoft halted the Spectre and Meltdown patches for AMD chips because they were bricking some systems, as covered by [The Verge] yesterday. So you may still notice a performance hit on your AMD hardware with future updates.

so, my laptop died and I am on a low spec machine until I can get a new one. The game plays fine on this low spec laptop, actually, blowing my expectations out of the water. No lag, no stuttering, no crashing, nothing of that sort.

I think that's part of the problem. They don't really know what to do, and they don't know how to balance a game. Sam's strength are coding and audio editing / mixing. They do not include game balancing. I think he probably wants to take a development position, rather than an administrative one, but the problem with that scheme is that if you want to do that, you had better have a good admin team in place, which, I don't think is the case. I think a lot of them are inexperienced, and while I wouldn't say immature, I wouldn't exactly say mature either. Also, you kind of have to listen to your team, talk to one another, discuss issues that come up, no matter from which quarter, whether it be disciplinary, balance, or the like. The ability for the team to lk amongst themselves and feel like no one of them is worth more or less than anyone else. Sam doesn't listen though, he is convinced his way is right, and he does what he does regardless of what other people think, which is fine, but then you have the type of issues he has now. IT's also bad if its his team that are also being given the cold shoulder, or ignored.

Eh I dunno, If/when I get a new laptop I'll probably just get a cheap Dell I can throw a bigger HDD in or one of those portable machines.Also, I'm not the world's biggest fan of Ubuntu, simple because Solus is leaner, cleaner and doesn't have half the bloatware Ubuntu comes with. I get that you want programs to do everything butI'd rather personally install them myself after setting the machine up. Rather than having a distro bundled with apps I'll (probably) never use..which is a lot of them Solus comes with, the photo/graphic editing ones for instance, so I'll always remove them, , though I still do think Ubuntu is far far worse for including bloatware apps than other distros.. IMO I'd much rather have a distro that comes with (say) the Mate desktop, a terminal, and the whole range of Gnome stuff preinstalled, a web browser, and just go from there. I only use Ubuntu because it's quick and easy and about half of the Linux distros are based on it in some way, shape or form. That being said I'm not against the idea of UbuntuI'm against the idea of packing a distro full  of apps people may not use just because some people might use it once or twice.

why not get a lenovo laptop with AMD a6 quad core processor off amazon for $260 or so, put in your solus or ubuntu mate disk, wipe the hard drive and all partitions, then install ubuntu if you want? best part is, these laptops do not have broadcom cards. my laptop has a realTek network  card.

my bran new hp laptop with AMD a6 quad core processor is working nice and fast with the latest windows10 build Windows version: Windows 10Ver1709 (64-bit) build 16299.192  You can get brand new laptops off amazon for around $260 that are nice and fast. they have AMD processors in them. I got my sighted son an laptop with AMD a12 for games on steam for just $365 or so. it also works fine with the newest win10 update.

I have heard you guys arguing that there have been less significant punishments for more severe attacks. I'd like to speak on that.For one, the mods even with posting stuff that they've seen publicly probably have a better grasp of the situation than we do, and they are doing the best they can. You heard that they discussed this sort of thing with one another before coming to their decision.Also, bringing up examples of others who have made as bad personal attacks and gotten just warnings does not actually, if we're following logical rules of argumentation, strengthen your points. You acknowledge that at least for the most part, you agree that Musical Professor was in the wrong and should have been banned, but it seems he was overpunished to you. When you bring up examples of worse behavior and minor punishments of those people, I seem to perceive that the argument you are actually going for, whether you are aware or not, as the conclusion for this one makes more sense, that more people should be banned. from the site rather than punishments ought to be lightened.You use worse behavior to excuse slightly better behavior which none of the people arguing has said was permissible or allowable. To me that means that the argument is more against those who are still around and being inappropriate than arguing for clemency for Musical Professor. You do say a permanent ban seems a bit harsh, but arguing by nature of the crowd is a logically fallacious means of argumentation.. If you are going to use the general forum approach to wrongdoers, you first have to convince me or your opponents that their light sentences aare what they deserve an they don't deserve what Musical-professor got. I'd also like to see evidence rather than vague ascertions. I am aware that there's a lot of flaming going around from my short time here, but Musical Professor is near the top on inappropriateness that I've seen and I also have little tolerance for personal attacks. He also has a history which should and did come into play.Also, if the harsh environment on the forums bothers you and you think the moderators aren't catching it or are being too lenient, tell them about it when you see it and don't just trust them to catch it. There's a lot of activity on this forum and we can't expect them to catch everything. That said against those who are somewhat questioning the severity of the punishment. I am very pleased that you guys are speaking out on it. I have my own reservations despite what I said above especially with posting the private message and e-mail publicly which I understand the logic behind it as Dark explained it but I feel still shows a great lack of respect and is a breech of privacy, though I understand Dark and the other mods in doing it and don't want to argue that point any further.I also think that it is the obligation of any member of a community to speak out against wrongdoing or to question where they think it might be, whether that is big things on a forum like reporting trolls or another forum example, discussing policies with Mods or the community at large.

Well as I said, the old i3 m530 server my uncle has is the slowest, it was fast with 7 but got slower and slower.It doesn't do to much but there could be a disk or memmory or some sort of failier to.It is almost useless now with the update, trouble is it was only just holding on when it started and once it was fully loaded with all the programs it barely ran anyway.I have a first gen i3 with win7 and a 3rd gen i5 with win 7, as well as a 4th gen fully upgraded asus with win10, and bar having to remove a lot of extra networking stuff I did not need the system is not on a whole to bad.On my i5 and the i3 especially with the backup software I do find a lag when first running such things as waterfox and a more pronounced lag with some game startups but once loaded they are as snappy as ever.Not all of them have firmware upgrades but my aunt's i5 gen7 is actually continuing to run.Saying that, she only has an offline office program libre office on her box, itunes for syncs of her iphone and chrome.100% of her life is managed from the cloud and bar java, some runtimes and the like I have not noticed any slowdowns as such.They say some systems could get a 3 to 30% slowdown, but most systems will get a single figure slowdown 1-9ms which is probably not much.And its not like things are slowed down all the time.As software gets better and firmware one would hope that things will change so you don't have issues.This patch is the first one it will be improved to return the systems to normal in the coming months.No one will want to remove performance perminantly just for security, its a stop gap measure thats all.

For the RAM...8+ gigs of RAM for any VM if you got 16+ gigs IMOI'd say check companies who sell refurbished machines, I got my Vostro from  a tech firm in the UK that sells accessible tech (though why they sold me a top of the line gaming laptop for $450 is beyond me...but hey, it workss), Those ones aren't bad prices really, but I'd keep hunting around, for a good deal. Check eBay as well FWIW.Also I forgot how easy Solus is to set up, install, restart, click and it does the updates and such for you.though I did read they apparently fixed the Broadcom driver issue but that's a problem across Linux distros.

The jambox mini has voice prompts, which was a selling point for me. I haven't found a shoulder strap for it though. It's a really good sounding speaker though. The battery life is a good 10 hours, and it can charge nicely with my external battery pack.

Hmmm wivern, this is rather odd. I have a desktop and laptop here both running win 10 and Nvda plus my lady's laptop which has recently had 32 bit windows 10 installed after windows 7 got problematic, and no trouble at all. the only major thing I noticed with the windows 10 update was the fact that I had to tell microsoft that no I didn't want to use edge, no I do not care if edge will take me to the microsoft store, oh and did i mention again that no, I do not want to use edge? :d. Other than the repeated winjing about how great  is, I've had no trouble at all, though whether I could also put this down to frequent use of C cleaner or some other factor I am not sure.

I just wish folks like Jonathan and Victoria weren't so darn fickle about when they showed. That's really my one big annoyance with the game, that you can't be sure if someone's going to show up.

@Jade, the above comments about adaptive moderation will answer your question about precedents, namely that we do things according to the situation with the best of our ability at the time. so the ban might be effectively permanent and will not end according to an automated schedule, but we wouldn't be against discussing the situation with musical professor again at a relatively distant future time.I will say though, I have usually noticed when things have got to this sort of pass it is precisely because! the person cannot admit themselves that they might have been in the wrong, therefore matters are unlikely to change, hence the permanent ban at this stage, still we'll see what happens, and for now at least the forum is free from one source of insulting behaviour.

Enter the model of your computer into a search engine and download the drivers from the manufacturer's support page. In the future, you might want to consider saving a copy of all the necessary drivers to a removable drive before installing Windows from scratch. This will save you time when you need to install drivers. You should always have a USB audio device on hand so that you know you'll always have sound regardless if the drivers are detected by Windows or not.

I got my Aira glasses today and spent some time with an Aira representative learning how to use them and the service.During the first month they recommend you use the service in a variety of situations even if you don't need it to familiarize yourself with the equipment and the service. So that when you are in an unfamiliar situation, such as navigating a building for the first time, you will already be comfortable with the service.I'm so excited that I feel like I can't sit still. With this service I'll have trained sighted assistance whenever I need it. Something I've never had before. No more waiting for a family member to help get some things that need a sighted person done. The feeling of independence is awesome!Beside the glasses which provide a home for the camera, the box also contained a dedicated cellular WiFi hotspot to provide the glasses with a connection to the Aira service. It's a device about the same size and shape as my iPhone SE. Also included were a couple of USB charging adapters and cables, I have so many of those now they are coming out of my ears. Also included was a cloth carry bag to protect the glasses when not in use.Stay tuned if you're interested, There will be more to come.

Email them to supp...@outofsightgames.com so that the devs can see and address them directly.Mathias is rubbish against ghosts/spectres/shades/whatever else that isn't corporeal, though I did notice that Gwen got Flaming Arrow once I taught her Ranged Attack for fun. My recommendation is to bring Gwen and Alexia to that fight.

As for antivirus, disable before install, then add exceptions for the appropriate file paths before re-enabling it.  JFW has its own stand-alone driver.  It can be found in device manager display adapters.  You should see at least a minimum of 2 adapters, your PC graphics card, and "freedom scientific accessibility display driver."  I currently have my graphics driver disabled, and JFW works fine.As for safe mode, I am unaware of the ability to use a screen reader, as normally audio drivers are not loaded when booting into safe mode.  If there is a way of doing this, I would appreciate that information being shared.  Thanks.

Well.This aint ms, every intel and amd branded cpu use the same chips and firmware and there is a leak in that.It can be patched but the only true way to fix it is get a new kernal chip and that is probably going to take a bit.Meanwhile this is the first patch so they will try to improve performance.Servers are the worst hit so they say, but modern systems are fine.I have an old i530m crappy chip on my uncle's server, it was  barely struggling as it was, now its really slow but its old as heck.Now I have a 3rd gen win7 box, a 4th gen win10 box and either a second or fist gen i3 desk server with win7 all with the update, I have not noticed the 40-50% slowdowns that people say.On modern systems there are a few milisecond slowdowns but its not much in others it could be worse but bar my uncle's server I havn't seen anything.His laptop is an old hp, but its an i7 and like my i5 3rd gen so it should be fine.Then again its not a heavily loaded box, cloud systems and office is about all it has and most of that is cloud based now.If your system is that slow, I'd be thinking the hdd could be an issue or ram or maybe its time to update that cpu, any modern system from the last 5 years or so should be fine, its where the updates and performance adjustments will be targeted at.Every phone droid and apple will have the same issue.As time goes on, and people work round the leak and fix it in firmware they will improve the performance as they go but its going to take a while its the entire industry Intel promise to get initial release by the end of the month if not sooner, so I suspect give it till the end of this year or even next year or sooner and they will have their security and performance issues handled.

Well, windows update didn't download the realtech drivers, and I now from the previous use of this computer the chipset is a realtech audio chipset... so guess I have to download it manually. Makes sense about Windows's own sound driver though, since that's the only way the preinstallation environment could be voiced.

Windows comes with it's own audio drivers which provide just the basic features in order to support the widest possible range of sound cards. To get the specific ones for your sound card, I would first install all updates in Windows update if any as it will usually auto detect the correct ones. If not, check the model of your sound card and get them from the manufacturer's website.

Ah the thing with the Broadcom drivers is this, they provide two different ones for LTS and current kernels, make sure you're installing the correct ones for your kernel typeAlsosince you're on Budgie do NOT update the system since it'll convert Budgie to QT which breaks accessibility. I'd have to double check on Mate if the Broadcom drivers are installed, here, but you could always grab the linux drivers from a Windows OS, save them, go into Solus, and copy them from your Windows partition to your Linux partition and install them that way. I know, it sounds convoluted but it should work, I don't have a broadcom chip thankfully, mine just worked out of the box so to speak.@Trenton: Dell Vostro user here, works fine for my needs. Also for Linux no, I'd say 6-8 GB of RAM needed for a solid VM experience, not 4 gigs.nono, or at least, for the bloated distros you need 6-8 gigs of RAM for a VM.sincce

I'm still getting the same error to no avail.hear is What i've tryed doing.I uninstalled the net framework 4 extended and leaving the client profile itself.I do not know if this game works only on windows 10 or the system requirements were not mentioned.can joseph list the system requirements to make sure the game works on windows 7 64bit?I wish this game would not require the net framework 4 to be installed inorder for the game to work properly.did joseph not fix the error I'm having?because the game was patched.

Reinstalling sound Drivers after Clean install??

So I recently reformatted my main Windows 7 pc to upgrade to Windows 10. Having done that though, I notice that none of my audio devices show up as realtech audio devices now. My headphone audio works, but when I check the driver manufacturer for either that device or speakers which say unplugged, both list microsoft as the manufacturer. Do I simply have to redownload the high definition audio drivers from realtech? The three plugs on the back of my computer used for my 5.1 surround system don't seem to work, as nothing is detected as being connected, and before I was running off realtech drivers. Any thoughts on this? Never did a clean install of Windows myself before, and I thought it already downloaded everything I needed.

so another problem has arisen that isn't quest related or bug related. I started playing a ranger for shits and giggles while i take a break from my battle mage. the problem is when fighting the spirit from the amulet quest  he does no damage at all. is there a way to have him do some damage to ghosts / spirits? i assume this is the same for a warrior as well.  also suggestions for good stats for a ranger?

about being unbalanced, i think,  making game  based on account system and saving your items and stats like stw, and having  1 day  of newbie time, will make good game and   it'll be fun to play.    newbie system: a newbie system, when activated, players can shoot others newbies and be killed by other newbies, but not with higher stats players, and can't be killed with bombs.  then, they can build up in that one day, and when they do, they can battle high stat players.    when someone dies and if they don't have a base, they must get a newbie flag for one day again.   and    players must not be able to make a base, to make a base, first they must create a team with others.
