I'd just use the app, for whatever reason payPal likes unclickable buttons. You could try routing your mouse to the button with NVDA's hotkey for that, and click your mouse or trackpad, but I had the best luck on my phone. Keep in mind though, you gotta be 18, at least over here in the good old USA. I'm guessing you'd also have to be of legal age in your country to sign up, where ever that might be. You'll have to enter your social security number to prove how old you really are, so don't go trying to lie at it or nothing.

Re: Ever seen a big game studio release an audio-described trailer?

I guess my problem with this trailer is that there is little to no story, nor any indication of what actual gameplay us like. It's about as fun as watching a tree grow.I didn't really like the audio description of scott pilgrim vs the world either. The guy seems way too excited about the action, and is probably a newbie to video games. For example, when scott attacks an enemy, the numbers being shown isnt the score he gets for his attack, its how much damage he is doing to his enemy's hp. For reference, I watched the movie on netflix, so dont know if there are more than 1 descriptions.

Re: Ever seen a big game studio release an audio-described trailer?

To be fair, this trailer is suffering from a couple of things:It's a teaser trailer for a teaser trailer for a teaser trailer for the main trailer for a game that we know next to bugger all about, so never trust a trailer applies here big time.Like a bunch of  audio-described content, it also suffers from the issue of the original audio  track being waaay too far down in the mix compared to the descriptive vocal track.Sound effects are in the original trailer, but the audio-described mix buries them. The volume issue is a deal breaker for me when it comes to audio-described content, it almost seems like it is designed for users of headphones and I already wear those enough as it is. Give me a good  surround mix any day, I can usually pull out enough detail from something like that to follow most things.Anyway... No I have never seen an audio described game trailer done by the studio before so this is cool, even if it is just a hype generator.

Objective, get rich and enjoy a nice, relaxing game time. The links shown when picking this game from the select a game combo box are no longer valid.I haven't seen anything else quite like this in terms of concept, and if there are any similar concepts out there, I'd be interested in those as well. Hi.What  about looking at this from a different perspective? What about appreciating that apple activelly releases updates to their products so quickly to fix standing bugs? You might argue that apples internal quality control isn't really up the standard we are used to, but you never know when proticle changes. And, as another note, tell me a phone manufacturer using Android still pushing out updates for their devices 5 years after first release.Tak the iPhone SE for example. Introduced in early 2016 powered by the a9 processor which appeared in the 2015 6S release will also be able to install iOS 14 coming out this year.In my book, that's a darn long life cycle for a smartphone. During this day and age where climate change is iminent and we should think about recycling and not producing that much waste, this is a good route to go.Greetings Moritz.

Re: Simplistic Games

2020-01-31 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — General Game Discussion : simba via Audiogames-reflector

Re: Simplistic Games

Hi.I think the problem here is a number of factors combined. For once development studios if you can even call them that are mostly one person teams with a limited or no budget at all, but I'm telling nothing new here.Another factor might be, and I'm leaning out of the window for that, but the current generation of developers is still young, mostly somewhere between 12 and let's say 16 and quicker success and recognition is seamingly more important than a fully fleshed out game. If you are new to coding and want to get your first example games out and get feetback, no problem with that, but doing this for your hole development career isn't really the way to go.other factors might be the lack of programming knolledge, using old and outdated engines like BGT, code leaks and simply modifying them or simply not knoing what certain game types are but labeling them as such. For example, FPS games. Most of these recently are grid tyle based games with no real turning mechanics, only side stepping was possible together with quickly turning to the cardinal directions, but it wasn't a fully 360 degree experience. And the power that jumping has in audiogames is just absurd. Remember the gate, super liam and the like? you were basically jumping through the hole game, tell me a mainstream game where that works. Or jumping over pits by rappitly tapping the right arrow.Only the new tomb hunter and the battle zone 2 concept demo had a runing and jump system that imo made a smoother game experience and you could keep on running after the jump, no reason you would need to break your flow as in super liam for example.Greetings Moritz.

Re: RS Games Question

Stopped playing after they released apples; at that point I was convinced that they were more interested in drawing in a playerbase than actually keeping one.  Monopoly has been out for 10 years and still has bugs that really shouldn't be there.  That's far from my idea of worth my time. There's also that little bit where my antivirus software has flagged it as malicious.  I mean that kind of thing happens... I remember when I used to use Hope for Pandora MSE was always trying to convince me that I should scrap it from my system; SuperAntispyware did the same.  The difference?  I paid for hope and was, in the process of doing so, sure I could get in touch with its dev and that he would smooth out any concerns I might have, which I honestly never did... I figured there was a logical explanation for it even if I wasn't code salvy enough to understand it.  I cannot give the devs of RS-games that kind of trust anymore, since as has been said, it is clear their products are only worth something provided they can attract fresh faces.  Bug squashing has taken too much of a backseat and I have if only a slightly more stable platform to game on with QC if the urge strikes.

Re: playable video mainstream games

Hmm ok, guess it's still f1 race for gb when it comes to playable retro mainstream racers then.I had a lot of time to spend in hyper dimension neptunia u: action unleashed, and its definitely playable, just requires a little more time and patience than it demands of the average sighted player. It's hard because you're moving in a 3d environment, so up means forward, and side is to turn and um guessing that back is to voutface. So there's a good chance you'll be walking forward in the wrong direction, so it takes a lot of turning and walking forward to find the right way to progress. Then there is the problem of the survival stages, since you need to grab every last item after killing the last enemy to clear the stage, and who knows how long you'll be wandering around till you find it, but at least the stages are small. I wonder if the sequel has this problem as well? I have some psn money now, so will pick that up in a bit.I will update the vita guide with more stuff come monday.

Re: my new podcast gaming in the dark

2020-01-31 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — General Game Discussion : wp85 via Audiogames-reflector

Re: my new podcast gaming in the dark

I have anchor both on my iPhone and my iPad. I don’t have a laptop right now unfortunately. Mine was too old and so I decided to get rid of it. I will say that recording on the iPhone doesn’t seem like a bad way to go, although I will admit that the first two episodes I did or walk-throughs and voiceover was not audible when it was played back. So from that point on After I had tested anchor on the iPad and found that voiceover was audible when playing back the recording for doing solo walk-throughs going forward I will use my iPad to record and my phone to play the actual game or vice versa. One more thing. If there’s anyone who would like to be on my show please send me an email and I will get back to you. I’d like to have people on my show as often as I can, because I think it adds variety to the show.

Re: Any fello transgender people on here?

Okay, going to probably get controversial but, by definition, yes, there are technically two genders. But there are many other gender identities. By the simple fact that the term is nonbinary tells me that you are not of one of the two genders. Agender is a lack of gender, meaning, no gender. Bigender is two genders. Genderfluid is moving between two genders. I could be interpreting things wrong, but even as someone who doesn't identify as cis, I see two genders, with different identities off that.

Re: Ever seen a big game studio release an audio-described trailer?

Wow, I think I like the idea, but that brief trailer seemed a little underwhelming, and not very thrilling. At the end I was like, that's it? I'd like to see someone try to take a stab at the trailer for wind waker for gamecube. That one is special, since it is one of the rare instances outside of the awful cartoon and Philip's games that we actually get to hear Zelda talk. Also audio described game trailers might mean a little more if I knew that it was for a game I knew I could play. As much as people like to harp on the music for the trailer for mk11, it almost succeeds for that very reason, if you take the time to listen to the lyrics.

Currently BTSync is the only way to obtain the folder. But just about all the content we aggregate is available publicly. The streamed formats, as well as many good archives of specific consoles, can be found at joshw's archives. You can look at a linked list of joshw's archives here or you can search them if you like. That's where a good SNES collection, kss, and many other formats can be found. For our vgm files we use vgmrips for the main bulk, and then specifically project2612 for genesis/mega drive and SMS Power for the master system and game gear. You can download all the c64 stuff and hook to the SVN repository for asma.

I tried the PSP ones, however it’s reallly hard. Although the navigator give you turn by turn instructions or in later games, it will tell you what kind of terrain that the car is in, you’ll still got a very big chance on crashing in to walls or to other cars, that is if you managed to get close to it by it’s stereo sound.Tried it also on the arcade back then, it’s pretty much impossible.

Re: Warsim, text based randomly generated stratogy

I don't know if such things will be implemented already in the combat update, but it could be nice if there is a kind of development in the game. What I mean is, that within the game during the years, there could be some new things if the game goes on. During the time within the game, units could learn more things they could do, or if the weapon creator comes in, more weapons or new ones wich are better could come in later in the game. Even the units could get more types and methods of fighting and attacking or get other possibilities, so the combat mechanics could get smarter the longer the game goes on. Just an idea, but this way it can be shown that time goes on and with some years passing by, such things get better and evolve or new things could be invented or such. Just a suggestion.

I do admit that as much as I love this game, and as understanding as I am that life gets in the way, the complete lack of communication from the devs is quite disappointing.  Especially as there was planned to be a graphical release of this on the kickstarter, and nothing has even been mentioned of that, whether it's happening or not.  This has been years ago as well.  The main reason I'm disappointed however is not because of any selfish reason, simply that I feel this has the potential to truly be something special in accessible gaming history and it's not been able to take advantage of that as of yet.

The help I can provide with the rune stones is that they are located in special locations in the mausoleums. What that means is that you will get a location name that is special. And there is a enemy guarding each one. Regarding charged weapon, you can only use it to use weapon. You cannot use any charged spells. It only affects your physical weapons like the swords.

If not, the "Play Video" button is close to the bottom of the page. Or, you can press your "land-mark" key till you reach the "video player" regionKeyboard commands I found whhile playback is going include pressing the space bar to pause/play and Left/Right-Arrows to rewind/forward content.

Re: Any fello transgender people on here?

I uh, actually didn't really get too invested in gender politics compared to the myriad other debates out there. But I always thought genders were just social constructs somewhat shakily agreed on by everyone? What some people picture as gender is actually more related to sex, i.e: having a penis or vagina.  Gender is more the perception we have a person. Men are emotionless dreadnaughts that need to be into woodworking, sports and the conquering of other neighbor's wives (exaggerations away!). Women as the motherly type that stay at home, and maintain the living space, cleaning, cooking, and setting up the outter defenses to withstand the next Xenomorph invasion.   Now, if you try to limit everyone into two gender roles, you're uh, you're going to have an issue. As can be obvious just by traveling down the magical highway of the internet, everyone is entirely different. It is impossible to just keep everyone categorized like that without resorting to sex, and that's it's own separate category.   Now I have no idea about the debate on someone deciding to change their sex to match their perceived gender. I'm curious if there would be any arguments if we advanced medicine and science to fully transition a person into a fully functioning female or male. Bits and parts working properly and what not, impossible to tell the bikini model used to be a man only 5 years earlier.  Things are progressing slowly to pull off such a thing. both from regular reconstruction fields, and our experiments with genetics.

I think the broader question was more along the lines of, why does it even matter?  It'd be like receiving a worthless paper that basically states you can do or did do something, but doesn't do anything beyond that.  I suppose there are people who thrive on the idea of a job wel done and others acknowledging it, but for others that isn't inspiration enough?  I could be entirely misreading post 1 though.

@Chris: Yes, one of Speech Refactor's primary goals is to report when speech is done speaking, which will improve indexing support big-time. Someone will need to apply those changes to controller clien2/64 since NV Access doesn't have any immediate plans to do it as such, but I've made Aaron Baker aware of the upcoming speech subsystem refactor, and he is pleased as it's been something he along with several others have brought to NV Access's attention. Since controller client32 is open source, laying the groundwork for updating the dll, maybe with some game devs collaborating since they know what is needed in such a framework, wouldn't be a bad idea.

Text Game Maker, scenario creation

2020-01-31 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Developers room : boy via Audiogames-reflector

Text Game Maker, scenario creation

I don't know if anyone on here knows how to fix this, but I am currently developing The Blank Game 2 as some of you know. I have the scenario data all planned out, so I decided to start making it into the beginning of a game. However, after creating the 7 data files and opening play.exe, it litterally ignores some of the scenario numbers, it as if they're not part of the document. I mean once I press enter after it says the first message, it's supposed to start playing the main theme of the game and say the next message. It reads the message, but doesn't play any of the sounds. After choosing New Game in the main menu, it continues to read the messages and skip the sounds. It also skips the menu ware you can move, interact, use items and do whatever else. Instead of going to the menu, it just goes back to the beginning. If anyone knows how to use Text Game Maker 0.9781, can you look at this and see what I'm doing wrong? After making changes, run the file called 変換用.exe to convert the source to data1 through data7. The new files will be in a folder with a Japanese name, located in the same folder as the source. And no, this is definitely not! The whole game, it's just the first menu. I only converted this to see if I was writing the menu commands correctly. I read the documentation for Text Game Maker, and according to it, I'm doing everything right. I also looked at the scenario description by Morokuma, it says the same as the Text Game Maker documentation. Download the source here:https://www.dropbox.com/s/14dlsfz0tndam … e.zip?dl=0There are allready data files that come with the source, so just run play.exe for an example of the problem I'm having.

Re: Questions about topics

Broadly speaking, provided a topic hasn't run its course and you're not just responding for the sake of adding pointless material to a topic of sorts you'll be fine.  An example, for instance, would be a topic where tons and tons of flaming was going on that has been dead for say, a month, then you go and revive it only to throw in a one liner about how you agree with so and so or such and such. There technically isn't any rule against topic resurrection at present to my knowledge; a mod can correct me if such a change has been made and I haven't been made aware of it.  The problem is that there are plenty of people on the forum who view it as discourteous when you could just as easily go and create another topic concerning whatever it is you want to write about if in fact it is actually worth writing about.  To bring back a topic that hasn't been active for awhile just to say "I agree with Ben the Butcher and Charley the kidcrusher" is viewed as less than productive.  Rule of thumb?  If you're going to revive a topic, at least make the reason for topic revival interesting to the majority of the forum.  Ask a legitimate question that is related; bring in a thought that hasn't been considered.  Throw in a link that might have useful information, but don't bring up a topic to tell the world that the sun looks brighter today than it did yesterday or that little baby booboo wet his pants because he didn't get a chance to post his opinion.Of course, depending on who you are you might just get away with some of that crap... :dIt's an unspoken fact, but I do believe there are members of the forum who, because of their popularity never walk on eggshells around everyone else and do as they please within reason, meaning they've learned how to not cross the line even if they've put a toe over it just a little.  They don't break rules, but do bend them a bit.  I think that's true of just about every community, so the best thing you can do wherever you go is to try and be nice to people... Really!

Re: my new podcast gaming in the dark

I honestly agree with the suggestion to not record using the Iphone. The quality isn't going to be as good as it could be that way. however, I strongly disagree with changing the name of your podcast just because Playing in the Dark exists. First of all, I don't think they're making games anymore. Top Speed was discontinued and open sourced years ago, and they've been quiet since, to my knowledge. I wouldn't worry about that too much.As some of you may know, I used to work with the now defunct podcast Blind Access. When we were in the process of coming up with a name, I was aware that a blog existed with that exact title. I was resistant to using it for that reason, thinking the creator (or creators) would come after me for it. Spoiler alert, that never happened, and we're talking about an incidental mirror image, not just a passing resemblance. If the original owners of that blog had come to us respectfully and asked us to change the name, I would have done so in a heartbeat. What the other members of my team would have wanted is another story; I would have done it anyway or abandoned ship. Also, we're not talking about a paid brand here, though I recognize that kinda gets dicey because Anchor can pay you when people listen to your shows. You could switch platforms, or just wait and see what happens. If it really were to become an issue, I very highly doubt a lawsuit would be their first course of action.

Re: Any fello transgender people on here?

Jimmy69, I imagine you're probably feeling a little bit shut out right now. I don't blame you if you do feel that way. My suggestion, though, is to learn to live with it.As a fellow straight white male, myself, I am cognizant of the hell we've put pretty much everyone else through as a group (as individuals, most of us are fairly harmless). This also means I've become aware that sometimes, our opinions are not only unwanted, but harmful. Again, no one's saying you can't believe what you wish, but in this specific arena, you have to come to grips with the fact that no, your opinion is not equal here, and as such, you don't have the right to just smear it everywhere. If you do it, you risk harm. You argue that by Haily and others being free to say what they're saying, that upsets you, and you further suggest that you being upset is equal to them being upset. In an everyday scuffle that's not related to privilege and oppression, I'd agree with you. In this instance, no, I don't. If you are that upset, no one is forcing you to read this thread. Walk away. Go do something that makes you happy. You are not going to change anyone's mind by posting that Haily and Daigonite are writing "patently wrong things". You are not going to affect any positive change, and so I must conclude that you're doing so either 1. in order to put those people down or 2. to make yourself feel better. If it's the latter, you're doing so at the expense of other people, and that's just not cool. So, a quick little anecdote for you. When I was seventeen, I was definitely a bit more of a jerk than I am now. I hate to admit it, but it's true. I had a girlfriend. Looking back, I don't know if it was ever gonna work long-term, but she was very sweet and quite supportive, and we got along well. Thing is, she liked chick flicks and pop music (she's since largely outgrown both, we're still in touch). Anyway, I would often deride the things she liked, not because I was trying to be an ass but just because I didn't like them. She'd talk about some new song she heard, and I'd say something like, "Good lord, it's full of autotuned" or "ah, another money-making scheme". And eventually she got sick of it and blew up in my face. You know what? I spent five minutes being outraged that she got upset by me expressing my opinion, and then I nearly fell apart when I realized the effect I was having on her. She was taking my criticism of the music as indirect criticism of her preferences and even her lifestyle. She was sixteen at the time. It was horribly demeaning and undercut her self-confidence in a way that I'd never have done if I'd really sat down and thought about it.So why do I tell this story? Because right now, you're the person who walks into a place and just decides to have his say for its own sake. Right now, you're acting the way I did twenty years ago, more or less. Trust me, bro, it doesn't work. It just upsets people, makes them feel like you're picking on them. Because even if you really hate that song, or really find it bothersome that people insist on two genders, no one is making you partake of the music or the discussion or whatever else. Bow out. You aren't gonna change minds this way.

Re: Solved: Link Based Collapsable Lists

I haven't implemented this myself, but here's what I quickly came up with:1) hiding text can be done by display:none. Give some class definitions to your css so that contents can be hidden/shown by just modifying the class name.2) aria-expanded is what you're looking for.3) If you're going to show the page to sited people, you might want to use css templates or something similar. I think some css templates provide colapsable lists. I don't know about a11y for that approach; you may need to add aria-expanded properly.

Hello everyone. Version 9.5 of the level creator is released. There are 3 major things for this update.1. Apparently when you pressed tab it didn't insert the sound you assign to the play action. So yeah that is very important, and I fixed that.2. It is finally here, I redid containers! No more having to use the 3 stupid container files. There is actually 2 systems you can use for recognizing containers. I will tell you now I have not put in code to delete containers yet, so you have to do it manually. For now, I want to take a break from the container code. That was a lot of work.3. Playback! Wait, that has been a thing since version 5. Yeah, but well, playback is smart now. It updates in real time, and here it comes... it will play your actions in order automatically!!! Those //open lines are gone now.Playback also plays the alias sound if the action has an alias. Because of this, old files are not supported. But don't worry, I have included a program in the zip called playback updater, that will automatically convert your playback files to the new format. On that note, sorry, but you are going to have to make a change to all of your container files to get them working in this version. The first letter is no longer a capital letter, it is lowercase. Of course if you remember them and you are lazy you can just remake them, but it isn't the end of the world having to make the change. If you have any questions, the manual should help, or you can contact me.
