Hi. So first, this is not directly a dev topic, but since the error it gives is kinda cryptic i thought this may be the better room. If it is not, feel free to move the topic, i just wanted to make sure.I already posted this error before, i had trouble running the newest version of sunrise waterfall. It gave the error in the log that the side by side configuration is incorrect. Now i traced the error with xsxtrace.exe. Here are the interesting lines.ERROR: The component identity found in the manifest does not match the identity of the requested component. Reference: Microsoft.VC90.OpenMP, processorArchitecture = "x86", publicKeyToken = "1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b", type = "win32", version = "9.0.21022.8". I already tried installing the newest version of visual studio, it didn't help either. I am stuck now. Does any one know what mait be the problem here?

Hi. I have playd arround with youtube-dl and python modules to search youtube and have build a little client. I only have one small but pritty anoying problem. Every time the client interacts with youtube-dl, youtube-dl opens it's command line window, taking focus away from the client. Someetimes it even bugs out so hart that the focus doesn't go back as expected. Is there a way to run youtube-dl in the background so it doesn't take focus away?

@8 i am on 32 bit, the wierd thing is how ever that the python.org website only shows me the 32 bit version even if i know for a fact i am on 64 bit, also it makes compilation for 32 bit machines much harder to perform if not completely impossible. Thanks for the info though.

Hi.I have created a multi porpose bot with carters team talk api. But i have 1 mayor problem. When i call bot.handle_messages() every thing i write afterwards doesn't execute. This seams to be because the methot blocks the rest of the code from executing. I have already tried a few multi treading methots like thr=threading.thread(target=sync_srv,args=()) and then thr.start() but the function still doesn't load. (for you interested, sync_srv is a function that is soposed to make it so you can make moderation on multiple servers at once, and this methot syncs these servers, and then you can pm the bot with stuff like /ban or /broadcast if you are in it's trusted list.) I also tried the old __threading module and the start_new_thread function but it just didn't start as well. Is there any thing else i can do?

@17 nice try. @22 well if he is so experienced he should know that geting hacked from time to time is completely normal, but this one post more shows like he thinks that if you get hacked once you are a bad person and unsafe for ever. @7 have only seen a linux bottnet once on a friends srv, and this one basically provoked it. He set his linux pw to abc. Then a ssh bot came in performing malicius actions. Yes, ssh bot. The panel i use is secure in my opinion. First it's open source, which means security holes can be found faster, also it is based on python which is a common language of course. Second, it has a few good features to make hacking harder like security entrence which basically means that you need to entr something after the / to even get to the login, suc as panelexample.com/gotothelogin. And thirt, it doesn't even have ssh access included.

@5 disagree. I have also tried multiple panels. With one, i had indeat problems getting it set. The installer was preinstalling stuff and then randomly decided to terminate, leaving all it's stuff behind. Then, but this is a general linux thing, it complained cause dependencies it installed where already there. At this point i said screw it and looked out for alternatives. For me, aapanel is a pritty good solution. For it to install you just run a sh script on a clean machine, then use the appstore to install things like apache or nginx, php, pure ftpd, and other things you may want or need. It also has let's encrypt integration, supports cron, and for me is pritty lightwait and worked even well on 1 gb ram. The installer truble came from IMSCP btw.

When i try to do it regular, which i did before noticing the object thingy, the following happens. This is my code.id=pool.play_2d("loop.ogg",mx,my,ex,ey,True)then in the while loop. For reference, the variables are changing frequent in the game so only update_listener is not working because that only triggers if the player moves but not if the enemy does.pool.update_sound_2d(id,mx,my,ex,ey)it then sais it only takes 4 arguments but 6 where specified.

Hi. I am right now trying to get used to lucia. but i have 2 small questions. 1. i have trouble building the documentation. On the github page it sais i should install pydoc-markdown and then execute pydocmd build. But it then just sais commant pydocmd not found, already tried reinstalling and updating it.2. how do you update a playing sound in sound pool? For reference in bgt you have the pool.update_sound_2d funktion, but it already fails because the play_2d function does not return a sound slot but a sound pool item.

@16 o how bad, you get 1 email in 1 month or so and maybe some forum posts about an abandoned projects, o my gosh. How bad. And also no i doupt that, languages like py are harder to learn then bgt. In fact the only reason why so much people say that python is so easy because they have learned bgt before or another language and a lot or principes didn't change. I for an example would have never started or took much longer if i didn't found bgt while browsing in the agarchive because booredom.

Hello. I have recently wrote a small media player which i already got help from this forum here before. I can also execute it just fine but when i want to compile and then execute the compiled exe, it saisNo module named 'pkg_resources.py2_warn'What does this error mean? I already googled and i found you should reinstall setuptools, but that didn't help either. And as i said i can run it just fine only compilation bugs.

Hello.Since i have gotten pritty passive at game development the last few months, i decided i would publish one of my 3 games on github. In this topic, you can vote which one i should put up for people to learn on and maybe get some colaborations. Something before i start. Both fighting arena and how hart escaping can get are not the newest versions in public. They both have enhancements that i have forgotten here on my hartdrive. It is indead possible to make viruses in bgt, i even did some because i was boored but never published any(wonder what shitposts i will now get the next years d). But for the big stuff, you have to combine 2 programing language to accomplish what you want. For an example i once made an app that was soposed to run tasks in the background while keeping cmd and taskmgr from opening. So i made the bgt app run a python compiled app that checked the open processes using psutil and writing them to a file that can then be parsed by the bgt app, and if taskmgr.exe or cmd.exe is running, boom exit. Ya see, i was pritty boored when i came up with that. And btw funfact, this file even it did some not so nice and anoying stuff in the background wasn't flagged by my virus program.

Back to the original topic, i also kind of see this problem in python and in general. Parsers seam to get always a bit iffy when it comes to tell you where you actually did a mistake. The python invalit syntax is also one of these things that sometimes occur in a line you didn't even modify. This is probably because the parsers after all are not humans. If a humans would look over the code and see, for an example, a wrong placed quote and a semicolon after that it would warn the user that what he is doing makes no sense. How ever because they are computers they just take the last string in a script and say non terminated string or in python invalit syntax.

To the true swamp gamer, you should use the matcher script. The unexpected token is really an anoying error. Can you maybe post the code here you edited so people can look on it?

@1 lol i kind of expected a btb link.@2 Nicely said, i my self switched to python but networking is the only thing i really don't get in python. Btw, what is with your bgt version that you posted about?@5 btb is a klone of a game that is not allowed in this forum. In the ops last question he had the smart idea to say that he is having a problem with btb and postnig a link to the sourcecode here. He then even posted the link twice and then said he knows about the klonage rule but basically doesn't care because klones will be there for ever.

@7 a yep, didn't look into that part of beadstar. But will maybe do cause i am boored. Also that is kinda better then my system with the only problem that you need to have every sound in and if you don't you will get problems. Also the new beadstar isn't packing the soundpacks at all which is kind of unsecure.

@1 here's how i did it in fighting arena. A quick explanation: fighting arena needs custom sounds for enemies and also the computer generated sapi sampels that you can use as enemies are not encrypted every time cause that would only cause unneccessary code lines and it would take longer.It is also possible to encrypt sounds without putting them in a sounds.dat file. I made an aplication for that, if you want me to post it here just ask. This means in practic, that i don't have to set the sound storage to a file such as sounds.dat but instead have a classic sounds folder where the sounds are still encrypted. To do that i write the following line.set_sound_decryption_key("mykeyblabla",false);The false indicates that also sounds with no encryption are allowed. It of doesn't mean you can play sounds with other keys though, but if you set the decryption key correctly and now have an unencrypted sound and load or stream it, it will still play.

@13 not for games, cause it has a js thing that keeps most auto updators from working and also it has a 10 mb filesize limmitation which is really not optimal for games.

Hi. I wrote a small media player in python using carters sound module. How ever, the thing doesn't seam to check the is_playing correctly. Here is the code part that causes problem.  if(paused==False_playing==False):   s.close()   num+=1   if num==len(files): num=0   s.load(files[num])   s.volume=vol   s.pitch=pitch   s.play()the other variables are only these where the files are geting hold in, volume and pitch, so not important for this problem i think. I can how ever post the full code if it helps. What this is basically soposed to do is keep checking if the sound is still playing, and if it isn't and it is also not paused, then go over to the next track. How ever, it keeps rapitly scipping through the tracks, as if the is_playing would return false all the time. Does anyone know what mait be the problem?

Also quick suggestion here if you are saving game status in a file and you want to prevent cheating, i have a kinda way to acomplish that task pritty easy. You can just use the compid as decryption key, then every computer would open the file differently and cheating would be impossible.

@5 the beadstar was removed only 1 or 2 months later, and ttf well i wanted to make the downloader not sound so bad like it crashed when you downloaded larger packs, but well it was not contained.

@5 I modified your key pressing example from tutorial 2 so it works more like in bgt.@3 and 4, i am using the pygame.time, not the python time. This module indead waits secs, not ms. But thanks for the suggestion, it was just working like that in bgt so i thought it may work in py as well.
