This game seems really cool. I wanted to try it out so just created my character. I assume guides mentioned at the beginning no longer exist since I couldn't get to wayfar1444.com. Can anyone give me any tips for starting out? Right now I'm trying to find a herbivore to hunt for one of the jobs but not having much luck. I keep using scan to look around me but all I see are people, like tourists, civilians, guards, and others.

@camlorn I started playing Icesus after I saw it on here yesterday, and they have some useful things to help you navigate. Not only do they have survey, but they have a coordinates system and a way to get directions to things within the city you start in. You can also find out the coordinates of things in the city to help you navigate.

Great topic here. I've tried several of these muds and really love Erion and Cosmic Rage. I also had a hard time with the stat training on Alter Aeon though. Deciding what to train when and how much to train it was always hard. I like Procedural Realms, although the last few times I've logged on, I got frustrated because I'm level 1 but couldn't find anything around my level to kill. I've heard of Clok but have doubts about playing it because I have no clue how to roleplay in a fantasy game so the required rp puts me off. I like Aardwolf as well, but I got a little tired of doing the same things over and over.

MUSHClient Questions

2020-03-27 Thread AudioGames . net ForumGeneral Game Discussion : LivingForGod1991 via Audiogames-reflector

MUSHClient Questions

Hi. I just downloaded MUSHClient for my computer. I've used it before but this is a new installation, and I was wondering what plugins you all would recommend installing and where I can get them. I at least need a plugin to read MUD output and one to capture output so it's easier to review. In case it helps, I use NVDA as my screen reader. I also have a question about different versions of MUSHClient. I have a few different versions for different games I play. The MUSHClient versions themselves are the same or only a couple builds apart. I hate having 4 or 5 different versions and want to combine them into one installation, but last time I tried this, I started getting errors and MUSHClient started acting weird. When I tried it, I put all the sounds, plugins, and other files into the folders for one version of MUSHClient. I just tried to put them in the folders they were in for the versions of MUSHClient they came from. Sometimes I had to choose a copy of a file if both versions had a file with the same name. If that happened I usually chose the newer file. Is there a way to combine soundpacks like this without causing problems? Thanks.

Thinking of Trying Alter Aeon Again but Have one Question

Hi. I've tried Alter Aeon before but there's one area that always made me get frustrated and give up. I know practices are used for both training and practicing skills and spells. This always confuses me and makes it hard for me to figure out how much to train or practice. I tend to prefer MUDs like Aardwolf where practices are used for skills and spells, and trains are used for stats. How do you figure out how many practices to use for things? I might come back if I can learn to do this without getting so frustrated.

I enjoy making text games and have recently been introduced to your community and have been enjoying updating my games to be more accessible. I have a few questions for you all to help guide my development efforts and hopefully make my existing and future games more enjoyable and accessible. First off, if you aren't familiar with my work already, there is a thread going on in the new releases board for my game Infini-Crawl. Heres a linkSo a few questions, if you don't mind:First off, do you mostly play games that have audio built in, or games that require a screen reader? In other words, is it preferable to you to be able to turn off the screen reader and have the game speak to you? or is it all the same to you because you usually have your screen reader on anyway? When you're playing browser games, what browser do you typically use?Which OS are you usually using for games (windows, mac, iphone, android, etc)?Do you prefer browser based games, or games you have to download and install? Are you using NVDA, or do you use Jaws or something else? If you use something other than NVDA, what features do you use with your screen reader that justify the expense? Do these features help with gaming? If you could have one type of game converted over to a completely accessible game, what would it be? In other words, what type of games do you feel the VI community needs to have that they don't right now?Lastly, and don't feel like you need to answer this one if you're not comfortable, but, what is your level of visual impairment? Do certain features in screen readers and/or games not matter to you because you have partial vision?Hi. I've been playing InfiniCrawl and love it. My answers to some of these questions might be a little different since I have other disabilities along with blindness.I play both games that use the screen reader and ones with their own audio. I don't really have a preference. When playing browser games, I use Chrome most of the time but will use Firefox if I find that a game works better with it.As for the OS I use, I use Windows 10 and Android.I don't have a preference between browser games and ones I have to download and install.I use NVDA on Windows 10 and TalkBack on Android. For games I would like to see, I wish there were more puzzle games like ones where you have to match different tiles or blocks. I used to have some vision and loved that kind of game. I'm totally blind, with no vision at all. Here's where my perspective might be a little different. Along with my blindness, I'm autistic and have several chronic illnesses. Because of these, I deal with something called sensory overload. It's easy for me to get overstimulated. I also have trouble with spatial skills, or knowing where things, real or virtual, are in relation to my body or my character in a game. Because of this, there are lots of audiogames I can't play, like ones that use different sounds rather than text or speech. If there are too many sounds that mean different things playing, I can't process all of them and what they mean, so I get overstimulated, anxious, and frustrated. Also, if the game uses sounds coming from different directions, it can be hard for me to tell where the sound is coming from, which makes movement in the game difficult. I'll often end up running my character into walls or other objects because I didn't understand that a sound I was hearing was supposed to tell me there was something there, or I couldn't tell what direction the sound came from. Because of this, I usually prefer games with mostly text or only a few sounds. I tend not to like games where I have to depend on sounds for a lot of things.

I'm totally blind, autistic, and have chronic illnesses that make my problems with sensory overload worse. Because of this there are a lot of audiogames I can't play because they have too many sounds going at once and I can't process it all or get overloaded. I was just curious if there are any other gamers who deal with this here and thought it would be nice to discuss what games are playable for us. This is why I'm a huge fan of text-based games. I also like some audiogames if they don't have too many sounds coming at once.
