Assuming you are talking about say the spire then it works with Jaws. However there is no direct sapi support. Note that if using an older version of jaws then mod the spire, which is used to activate mods including say the spire, may not be accessible. I was about to basically say the same as @Hijacker and since I already wrote the post here it is.I too started to encounter this issue recently. This issue was also discussed  in the say the spire topic. Someone has also already reported it to the mod developer.Despite this issue you still can start a run with just text the spire by using the start command. Start was the old way to start a run before text the spire started using the game menu directly with for example the play and standard commands. Start is no longer mentioned in the list of commands and it does not have a help section but it still works. So it works like this:start character_name ascension_level seedascension level and seed are optional. So to stard a norrmal run with ironclad the command isstart ironcladTo start an ascension level 5 run with the defect the command isstart defect 5@zseli nice to hear that someone else is also using say and text the spire both together. I too like to use text the spire for planning my route. So fortunately with the start command you still can use them both together since at least for now this is the only new text the spire crash. Of course the alternative is just to disable text the spire, start you run with say the spire, quit the game (your run is automatically saved), enable text the spire and then continue your run.

I have not played Animal Crossing new horizons but I know that multiple blind players have found it quite playable and enjoyable. Seems that for some reason mod the spire initializes the mods in the wrong order. It tries to load say the spire before basemod. And since say the spire requires basemod to work its initialization fails. Not sure if this is possible but perhaps you installed say the spire first via steam workshop and after that installed basemod and this is then the order in which mods are loaded. At least for me it seems that the mods are initialized in the same order as they are shown in the mods list in the mod the spire window so you might check if it is the same for you. In case you don't know and are using NVDA the mods list can be inspected with NVDA's object navigation. The say the spire documentation has more info about that if you need it.To fix your problem I would try the following assuming you are using steam workshop. Unsubscribe from say the spire and check from the mod the spire mods list that it is really gone. Then subscribe to it again and check from the mods list that it has appeared and now hopefully after base mod. Also check that it is enabled which you can do with object navigation if using NVDA. Possibly you could also unsubscribe from basemod and say the spire both. Then ensure that you subscribe first to basemod and then to say the spire. Hopefully this helps but I am not sure what determines the order in which mods are initialized so this might not work.Oh and btw you have communication mod also but unless you are planning to use also text the spire, communication mod is not neede.

The command for getting information about choices is choice or just c and the number of the item. If by status you meand the various bufs and debufs such as vulnerable or weakened the player or enemies can have then the command for inspecting those is power or pow in short. You can check the help command for details how to use it by giving the command help power

With cards in your hand you can see what they do with the command hand or just h and the number of the card from the hand window so for example:h 1Simlar works for cards in the deck window except the command is deck and number of the card. The description of the card then appears in the output window in both cases. The window with the combo boxes and play button is mod the spire or at least I assume that is what you opened. There should be a toggle all mods button or something like it I cannot check just now which should enable all your mods. So after pressing it once you can then press the play button and the game should start with your downloaded mods enabled. Note that pressing the toggle all mods button again disables all your mods.It is bit unclear to me which mods you want to use. You talk about say the spire occasionally but do you mean slay the spire. At least you did not list say the spire in your mods directory contents.

@wlomas when you click the subscribe link and if nothing happens check the very bottom of the page for a possible error message. It is possible that such a message appears but since the accessibility on that page is not perfect your screen reader does not get the information that a message has appeared. You just have to know that it might appear and check it from the bottom of the page. Possible errors are for example that you are not logged in or you are trying to subscribe to a mod which requires another mod. For example you have to first subscribe to modthespire and only when that is done can you subscribe to basemod.

I had, at least partly, different issue with v autodrive for which I managed to find a solution. Perhaps it can help you too. When you have issues try prssing f12. This reloads the ScriptHookVDotNet compoment which both v autodrive and gta11y use in accessing the game. So you will hear gta11y's "mod ready" start up message when you do this.I have enough vision to place a waypoint on the map. Then I can press j for v autodrive to take me there. However when I arrive my the game kind of locks. I cannot exit the vehicle or drive it an v autodrive does not work. I can do some minor things like move the camera an access the phone. I can use also gta11y features like teleporting. Reloading the game save or restarting the game fixed the issue i.e. I could move but obviously this was not a real solution. I checked the ScriptHookVDotNet.log log file in the GTA V installation directory and noticed an error message related to v autodrive and me arriving at my destination. I then googled which let me to the comments section in v autodrive mod page. From there I found the solution of resetting ScriptHookVDotNet. It fixes my issues allowing me to move and use v autodrive again. You can also set this reset key to something else in the ScriptHookVDotNet.ini configuration file located in the GTA V installation directory.

Something similar happened to me though this was immediately after installing the game the first time so this may not be the same. Assuming you are using Windows 10 try this to see if this is a similar issue. Go to speech settings in Windows 10 settings. Just type speech to the windows menu search and you should be able to find it. There a bit after "choose a voice" you can find a preview voice button. If you press that do you hear anything? I did not if I was using my desktop PC's default audio output i.e. the standard headphone jack but if I use my wireless or wired USB headphones or bluetooth headphones I can hear the voice sample. Another odd thing that with the default audio output is that I don't hear some game sounds like the wall tones.  Since I play manamon with headphones anyway I have not investigated this further may be some audio driver update would fix this.But anyway back to the speech issue. One thing you can try is to disable Manamon 2's "enhanced SAPI support" so in the main menu two down is options. Or if you do not have a game save I think it is only one down since the load game option is not there I think.  In options eight down presses is the enhanced SAPI support. Enter toggles it between disabled and enabled. Note when you toggle it you will be then moved to the beginning of the options menu. With my strange audio issue this allows me to hear the Microsoft default speech synthesizer.You can also try changing voices in the  text to  speech settings in manamon. It is the first item in options so just press enter when you get to options. arrows up and down changes voices and v increases and shift v decreases volume in case yours has some how gotten turned down.Oh and one more thing. about the appdata directory. By default it is hidden so you cannot find it when browsing files. There is a setting that turns it visible but I do not remember where. In any case an easy way to get to manamon 2's appdata directory is to type the following to Windows' run dialog:%AppData%\Vgstorm.com\Manamon 2And you can get to that by pressing windows and r.

I am happy to report that I got my capture card installedl. And it works like I wanted to and how @ross said it would. Though getting the card to work was bit a hustle for some reason. Elgato game capture software could not first find the device and it was not shown in Windows' device manager either. First we checked that the card was correctly attached to the PCI-E slot then we moved it to another slot but that did not help. Fortunately the reinstallation of the elgato software fixed the issue for some reason. But these kind of things can be very frustrating since you do not know if it is software issue or a hardware issue on the motherboard or the capture card itself.I also found out from the Elgato game capture software keyboard shortcuts help page that  f11 switches to full screen mode and f10 hides a sidebar in the full screen mode. So there is no need to use the mouse. Here is a link to that support page in case someone else finds it useful:https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articl … Capture-HDThough the software is not much accessible, with the help of the shortcuts I even managed to create a video with live voice commentary which I then uploaded to Youtube. (Fear not I will not bother you with it since I speak Finnish in the video.) Creating videos was not my reason for getting the capture card, but since I now have it I had to test it out. You start and stop recording by pressing CTRL r and enable / disable live commentary with CTLR l. Luckily the menu for choosing the microphone for live commentary happened to be accessible. I did not even check if the features for video editing are accessible since for my test I did not need them. For each start / stop recording the capture software saves a video file to a folder from where you can get it. By default it goes under your user's videos folder but it can be changed but I think that is not accessible. In fact for each recording two videos are created and they can be saved to different locations. One is a video export in the mp4 format and the other goes to its own folder under the game capture software's video library folder. This other file is in the transport stream (.ts) format which was a new format for me. The folder also contains some other files related to the internal workings of the game capture software and its editing features. I am telling all this in case someone else someday finds this information useful.

I feel it hard to say if Mario maker 2 would be in some way playable for a totally blind person. I use my very limited sight when playing and making courses. I am limited to certain game styles and course themes that have a suitable contrast and colours for me. Overall though I have played and been interested in games my whole life I just quite recently became aware how  many totally blind people play mainstream games and it amazes me what folks can do when you have enough patience.In Super Mario maker when it comes to playing levels I suppose the 3d world game style would be the best to play. It has the most sounds. For example for Mario’s walking and the sound stops when you hit a wall. You can also hear when Mario lands after a jump. And you can hear when you hit a wall when jumping.  Some enemies make also a sound well at least the two I tested. I have not used this game style much since for my vision it is not the best . The new super Mario bros U style also has similar Mario movement sounds but at least the same two  enemies I tested did not make any sound.As for making courses I think it would at least be very difficult but who knows. Although the course making happens in a kind of grid where you place stuff. You use a freely moving cursor. It probably would be easier if you could move the cursor one step at a time but you cannot. Well at least you cannot place anything over something else you placed before and the game gives you a sound when you attempt to do so. When you place something the game also says its name though the voice is quite distorted so at least for me as a non-native english speaker it is sometimes hard to understand what the game said. Perhaps the possibility to use the touchscreen when making courses might also be useful since you can place stuff just by touching or move your finger on the screen to make for example a longer platform. I have not used the touch screen except just now when  I tested it a bit.Not sure if this helped but if you have more questions I can try to answer.

I did a quick test TV vs. handheld with seeing AI an in the end there was no big difference at least in my test case. Perhaps the TV was even better but of course I am more used to it. I tested with one of Super Mario Maker 2’s tutorial lessons. In both I got the text  mostly quite quickly but sometimes had to move the phone a while. I think OCR will be more convenient on the PC: one key press and I can review the result with arrow keys where as seeing AI reads the whole thing at once.

Recently I have seen some blind people playing Animal Crossing. New Horizons on Nintendo Switch and using a game capture card to OCR the game see for example this youtube video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAiQ-FNLxR8I decided to also purchase a capture card so I can start OCRing my Switch. Before I have been using the Seeing AI app on iPhone but, at least for me, it is not especially convenient and it takes time to get the phone  positioned correctly before my TV to get the OCR result. I have some vision and thus want to use Switch with my TV and not in hand held mode where the OCR with iPhone might perhaps be easier.However some details are not quite clear for me about how everything works so I hope people here can help me. I already did some searching on this forum and found some related discussions which provided some information but also raised more questions. The capture card I purchased is the Elgato game capture hd 60 pro. I have checked that my PC meets the requirements and I’ll get sighted help for the physical installation and if needed dealing with inaccessible software so that is not an issue.So first my main two questions and then some hopefully clarifying background explanation and some assumptions about how I think this all should work which people can also correct.1. What kind of setup (software and its options) I should use to be able to OCR with Jaws or NVDA.2. How can I hear the game audio from my PC.So what I would like to do is connect my Switch to the capture card and then connect my PC to my TV i.e. I would be using my TV as my PC display and speakers. I would then like to hear the game and see it in full screen on my TV and also hear of course rest of my PC including OCR results  from the TV. I also have a regular computer display and speakers which I normally use with my PC. So of course the alternative could be to connect the capture card’s output HDMI to my TV  to use the capture card’s passthrough feature. Then I would have the game on both my TV and PC screen and I could OCR from the PC while still hearing and seeing the game from my TV. But I think I would prefer to have everything come through the TV.From the related previous discussions on this forum I understand that OBS is the better  software to use with the capture card. Apparently though it is not super accessible it is still better than Elgato’s own software. The reason for my first question about OCR is that from some discussion I got the impression that not all live capture  views on the PC can be OCRed since the screen reader does not see it. And the second question is because Also from another discussion I understood that hearing the Switch audio on the PC is not simple and requires some setup.I hope at least some people had the patience to read my wonderings and can hopefully give me some clarifications for which I would be grateful.

@Mitch You switch between the item wheels by pressing l or r. There are 4 categories of wheels: terrain, items, enemies and Gizmos. All categories except items has multiple wheels for example 2 terrain wheels. The latest update that I think was released yesterday might have changed this though. When cycling between the wheels with r and l you hear a different sound when you get to a different category. Each wheel has about 8 items and you choose between them by pressing right or left with the left analog stick or the d-pad. This goes around the wheel so eventually you will get back to the item you started from. The pitch of the sound the game makes while going through the items changes depending on which part of the wheel you are going through. You select an item with a. Apologies but I am going to repost a question I posted a few days ago in a faint hope I would get a answer this time. Though I understand that people probably do not remember these answers.Spoilers related to Brightenburg WildernessSo turns out I am apparently completely tone-deaf or something since the quartantula music puzzles in Brightenburg Wilderness, where you have to play the tones you hear, are ridiculously hard / impossible for me. I know, I know it should not be super hard but here we are. I am stuck at the third one which comes after you cross the river. there it plays 4 notes and I think the 2 first notes are the same. So if someone could give me the solution to this and of course if possible future ones as well I would be grateful. I tried searching the forum and found some discussion about these puzzles that helped me with the first one but not full solutions to these. Hope somebody can help me out and I do not have to wait for someone to write a complete walkthrough.

I too did have sighted help in setting up my Switch. For my level of vision I have found the zoom feature somewhat helpful. Also the inverted colours option has also been useful for me with some screens. It is just a pity that that feature does not have a quick toggle like zoom. Instead you have to go to the system settings to change the colours. I also have used the Seeing AI iOS app to read some screens. The results are not always great and it often takes some time to get the iPhone camera positioned correctly for the OCR to work.The only Switch game I own is Super Mario Maker 2. I have been making some courses and playing courses made by others. Though I use my vision for that and can only make or play levels of certain game styles and themes. I don't think you can get much out of Mario Maker if you are totally blind but of course I can be mistaken.@pelantas I would be interested to hear how well you have managed to play Pokemon let's go since you mentioned it.
