100% agree with Ivan. The issues surrounding his games have very little to do with the language he's using. They have a lot more to do with a lack of understanding. Not just when it comes to coding the games, but also for designing/administrating them. Why people decide that online games are perfect for diving into coding I still don't understand. There is a lot involved without even touching code. Switching to Python isn't going to fix the problem. In this situation, it would probably just make things worse since it involves learning about networking in more detail. +1 to making an offline game that can actually be maintained before thinking about trying something online.

I didn't have a full understanding of the levels of moderation until they were explained to me, so I don't feel as strongly as I did before. However, I did want to comment on:"I believe if tunmi were the developer of crazy party or another popular game yall just let it slide. that is just unfair TBH."The fate of Crazy Party, to my knowledge is still being discussed along with games/projects with iffy sounds. This game is not being singled out in that regard. There is a difference between ragging on tunmi for no reason, which does happen, and offering valid critisism/feedback. (which @38 did do)

Just to needlessly repeat what's already been said, I think the caution was a bit heavy handed as the result of a misunderstanding. Should the post have been made, probably not. The purpose wasn't to mock the dev though. It was just a comment on how topics centered around this developer have the tendency to turn dramatic. I guess it wasn't clear from the post alone, but later posts add clerity. (like post 16)

Re: Bullet Haven, a new shooting game!

@23I didn't say anything about games needing to be good. What makes a good game is different for everyone anyways depending on their interests. There's nothing wrong with releasing another pvp game, but why is it exactly the same as every other pvp game that came before it? All I'm asking is for someone to try something even slightly different whenever they decide to release their version. It's a game, and it works, but it's been released many times already. @31Even just changing some of the text for the menu items to make it feel like a different game. Of course text like Speaker Test is going to be used across many games, but there are options that have the same text word for word as other games.

This game doesn't have to be a clone for people not to show enthusiasm about it. The lack of new concepts/ideas is enough for some to be disappointed. Even if the code is completely original, why doesn't it bring something to the table to separate it from everything else? Why does the same game have to be released constantly with slight alterations? Same key strokes, same menus, same settings, same lag, ETC.

I wish I had a better idea of what exactly is going on. Trial and error hasn't resulted in much progress. It's definitely understandable that the mods could have a hard time keeping track of the various warnings that they've given in recent times, but that being said, consistency is essential when it comes to moderation. Whenever the mods do get around to it, it's important that they deal their punishments in a way that is consistent with actions that they've taken in the past. (otherwise, where's the integrity?) Can we talk about the game again? I haven't tried it. I was hoping to read others' experiences to determine whether or not I should give it a try. Online shooters like these usually aren't my thing at all due to their trollish nature.

@keyIsFullThe security bot missions are the most difficult in my opinion. For me, it's not very easy at all to consistently avoid the bots. On top of that, throwing barriers into the mix in project avion makes it even more challenging. That being said though, the barriers are far from the most difficult aspect in my opinion. They seem pretty straight forward, and with the collision radar, they've never been easier to pass. As long as you steer in the opposite direction than the barrier is traveling and have enough power to boost past them, you should be able to clear them.

Re: Sequence Storm Rhythm Racing Game

@194As far as your feelings about Antiviral and the simultaneous scratches, at the end of the day it just comes down to what you want out of the experience. I've completed the mission as it is along with other players in this topic. It is stressful and frustrating, but enjoyability is a lot more subjective than the other two. It's more enjoyable to me, for example, to work towards being able to complete complex sections of a mission across many different tries, instead of flying through everything on the first try. SPOILERSPACETry Before You Buy, as well as a couple of the other missions in that area that center around bots are not really playable for us at the moment, but you can proceed with the main story missions and complete the game without beating those. I don't mean to repeat things or give advice without substance, but I wouldn't expect to beat Death Contract on the first try. How well are you completing the sequences? How often are you using boost/drift? I also just thought about the idea that if you are playing the game with reduced notes, there might be the possibility that, due to the fact that the mission is designed around more notes, playing with reduced notes might actually make the mission harder. You won't have as often an opportunity to fill up your power meter for boost/drift

@190What really helped me when it came to the simultaneous scratches was to focus on one side. (either the left or the right) If you can tell that the left side is playing a downward scratch, then you know that the other side is playing the opposite at the same time if that makes sense. Even then, it took me several tries before I could perform it well enough to pass, but I find that to be part of the fun. Again, you can run through some tracks in arcade mode by yourself, and I've used that as practice for missions. It's not as convenient as a dedicated practice mode, but I really like the game's difficulty where it is.

Adding an extra beat to audio cues 2 and leaving audio cues 1 as it is seems like a great idea. @181How many stat points do you have? Re: Sequence Storm Rhythm Racing Game

@168This only works in some cases, but you can practice certain tracks in the arcade with the same notes that are used in the story mode. You just have to select the correct difficulty. For several missions in the game after Antiviral, I chose to take this approach. I didn't see any other way besides learning the notes before attempting the mission in the story mode because some of the tracks get very intense. It also allows me to focus on other obstacles and objectives I have to complete if I'm comfortable with the notes. I used to feel that there needed to be a lot more opportunities to purchase stat points in the game, but at this point I really don't think you need as many as I once believed. I think it comes to finding the strategy that helps you enjoy the experience more.

Clipboard readers definitely already exist, but I just made my own in a few minutes since I didn't have one. Just check the clipboard narration box in the accessibility settings of Sequence Storm, and launch this program. It will monitor the clipboard and read whatever gets copied to it. Use the number row to review the last ten messages spoken for the cases when speech gets cut off. Use space to open the Voice Options menu which I strongly recommend so you can set the speech delay for NVDA. The game feels a lot snappier when you are using a more responsive voice.

The game did go unresponsive on me one time I believe and I had to close it, but other than that, everything has worked as intended. I've definitely never had any crashes or problems with narration.

Re: Sequence Storm Rhythm Racing Game

Here, for anyone interested, is my recording of an attempt to demonstrate how I go about working with barriers. IN an effort to not be too loud, I may have been too quiet. Whether you learn anything or not, hopefully it's worth a listen. It was more time spent playing for me, so I've already won. I promise my timing isn't as bad as it sounds. The vocal track wasn't as lined up as I would have liked it to be.

Re: Sequence Storm Rhythm Racing Game

Sadly, it feels like I only leave feedback when I'm having a problem, but I'm definitely enjoying the game regardless of any potential hurtles.SPOILERI think I found a mission that we definitely can't complete at the moment in the accessibility mode, and I'm having a hard time figuring out what a potential solution could be. I'm referring to Try before you Buy where the goal is to intentionally collide with several bots on the track. The rig sounds duck in volume as the sequences play, so you only get to hear the engine sounds a fraction of the time. (and hearing the other rigs over my own during that fraction is hit or miss for me) Maybe the steering assist could help to collide with bots only in that specific mission, but I'm not sure what that would be like to implement. Anyways, thanks again for the great work on incorporating accessibility into the game.

Re: Sequence Storm Rhythm Racing Game

@981. I agree. It's incredible that steering around the barriers is at least possible now with the audio cues. I've practiced a lot with steering around them, but my results vary, so I wouldn't want to try and explain how I go about it since it's still hit or miss for me. I've been considering doing some audio recordings of the game just for the fun of it to show off certain levels or aspects if there is any interest. I've found that you definitely have to be careful with the timing in order to keep the speed boost going long enough to make it past. I settled on learning where the barriers are in a mission, so I can anticipate them and activate the boost as late as I can to ensure that I won't run out while trying to get past. (as well as making sure that I can get my power meter as full as I can beforehand)2. I'm pretty sure that drift allows you to maintain the increased speed while turning, but your speed will start to decline while turning with boost. Boost allows the ability to steer, but not drift. I'm pretty sure that how long the effects last depends on how much power is in your meter, so they're best used when the meter is as full as possible. Holds aren't incorporated into the accessibility mode.4. There are subtle sounds for when your power and health meters change. I believe you lose health by missing notes, being burned, and maybe hitting barriers?5. The audio cues 2 mode is a lot more challenging in my opinion. It mirrors the visual mode more closely, but it requires some pretty intense reaction speeds even on the easiest missions. I haven't managed to get very far using it myself, but that might just be a lack of skill on my part.I really love the game and its soundtrack as well, and I am looking forward to finishing all of the missions. I'm stuck on some brutal ones at the moment.

@85As explained, there are certain programs that keep track of when the text in the clipboard changes and speaks the text whenever it's updated. It's helpful for allowing blind players to translate the game's text into other languages as they play. It would just be a matter of outputting game text to the clipboard instead of speaking it through narration. It could also offer the opportunity for players to hear the game's narration through a voice of their choosing as opposed to being limited to sAPI voices.@87I only have one or two of the accessibility settings enabled. In my opinion, checking them out doesn't take too much away from the game experience at all, and I believe that, for the time being anyways, there are certain missions you might not be able to complete without any of the accessibility settings enabled at a certain point.@82SPOILERI managed a bronze medal on Virtual insanity for now. If I'm correct, the hallucinations are really strong on this one, and I believe they interfere with how your rig is operating. I think trying to use boost as much as you can might really help here. That was how I approached it anyways. I struggled a lot more with antiviral.

@68There's only one setting that I have enabled that makes Gameplay a bit easier. Not every aspect of Gameplay is accessible at the moment, but I've been able to advance pretty far with what is available. I encourage you to check out the demo at least to see what you think. As far as the hold sound goes, I don't think I figured it out at all. I think I just actually started noticing the sound you hear when you activate hyperdrift and got confused. It's a shame because I'm at a point where I can't advance anymore due to a mission that I believe contains holds that are screwing me up. On an unrelated note, I wish there were opportunities to receive a small amount of credits for completing tracks in arcade mode, but I'm probably just feeling that way because I'm pretty much out of ways to earn more right now. Some of the tracks on higher difficulties are absolutely insane and borderline impossible, but their fun to attempt anyways. Hopefully the developer gets verified to post on the forum soon.

Re: Sequence Storm Rhythm Racing Game

Has anyone been able to figure out how holds work, or are there no cues for them yet? I tried disabling them in the accessibility settings, but they still seem to slow me down/negatively effect me during races. (either that, or there's a different cause) I've been able to perform pretty well on a lot of the various missions except for the ones containing holds. Still enjoying the game though.Edit:It seems that every time i decide to post a question here, I figure it out literally right after I post it. There is a sound that indicates when you should hold, but it doesn't audibly stand out as much as the other cues does. Collected several more gold medals thanks to this.

I really enjoy the game so far, and I'm definitely going to be purchasing it to show my support. I do seem to be struggling with the third mission where steering is introduced. Should I enable more of the accessibility settings? I only have the audio cues enabled at the moment as I didn't want to eliminate too much of the game's difficulty. I've tried it a number of times now, and no matter how often or sparingly I use the boost, I always end up falling behind. Other than that, everything seems straight forward so far.Edit:So, right after posting this, I gave it another shot and figured out what was happening. It turns out that, embarrassingly enough, I was losing speed during the race because I had two of the keys mixed up with the wrong sounds. (you can probably guess which ones they were) Happy to report that I finally managed to pass the mission, and I'm looking forward to checking out the rest.

I didn't care for the waves of rockets at first, but now I don't mind them. Maybe it's because I've put a lot more points into different areas.

Wow! I was seriously working on a project just like this! I wasn't sure whether or not I was going to release it or not. I haven't tried yours yet, but I've been looking for a nice program to help me study/remember things for a while. Not finding one, I just decided to make my own. I wanted it to be somewhat similar to Quizzlet since the site really helped me prepare for tests, so I included different types of questions while the program quizzes you (like multiple choice, true/false, ETC) based off the cards in a particular set. Nice job. I'll check it out soon.
