I initially tried downloading them individually, but that didn't work, so I tried the playlist, just on the off chance that it worked.What you describe sounds like the way I've always used Ponce and it has always worked in the past. But this time it would play the sound and start downloading, then a couple of seconds later, play the sound again, then say download complete, but there are no mp3 files saved in the download folder.

[[wow]] I didn't realize that this game only supports one screen reader, that's not my definition of accessible. That being said, I uninstalled it and deleted everything associated with it. Yeah, I had it installed but hadn't tried playing it yet and now that I know it only supports NVDA, I never will. Shameful. If a game is going to claim to be accessible, it should be accessible to all, not just those who use one particular screen reader.

It would depend on if the game's alerts are coded to use iOS's alert notifications or are just modal dialogs the game creates.If it's the latter, at least I know they are modal and have to be dismissed before you can continue.

I wonder if that voice over alerts problem is a bug in iOS 11 or a problem the game creates. Though since I routinely turn off all notifications, including alerts, I may not see that problem when I get around to playing it on my iPad.Dark, do you know if the game requires an online connection? I have an eight hour flight coming up, so I got the game to give me something to do while cooped up in the plane, and I have no intention of paying their fee for WiFi access if it's available. The iPad will be in airplane mode.

As I said before, I'm with Dark on this, in a text based game, sound effects might be a nice addition, but is by no means necessary. Look at it this way, would you want sound effects playing while you are reading a good book, if you're at all like me, the answer would be no.

Sounds are nice, but since I started my computer adventure game playing on an Apple 2 which only displayed the text for you to read with no sound at all, as long as the text descriptions are well written, sound isn't necessary.

From what was said earlier about running the updater, I'm guessing that if you leave it alone it will only be run when the game detects a new release, but if you run it yourself, you'll get the latest beta which may have bugs. If my guess is true, I'm going to leave it alone, preferring not to run beta versions.

I just bought this game and noticed a couple of things.1. I use random passwords for each site that requires one so that no two sites share the same password. Because of this I always use copy and paste to enter them, so you can imagine my disappointment when I discovered that the game doesn't support pasting the password into the password field.2. If you happen to mistype your account credentials, the game asks you to reenter both your email address and password, but when it wants you to reenter your email address, the voice prompt asks you for your password. This doesn't happen when you first get to the log in page.3. Windows throws up an alert warning you that it's firewall is blocking some elements from accessing the public and private networks.4. Windows throws up a security alert when you run the game.#3 and #4 are easy to resolve by allowing access through the firewall and by checking the option to always run the program and I know they are both caused by the executable not being signed.It would be nice if all of these were resolved, but only #2 really needs addressing.

Ah, but episode 0 isn't the same as the full game executable, so that may not be a valid way to test if he has the problem.For example, if the full game will only use the Microsoft default voice while episode 0 had no problem using the user's selected default voice, something is different.

I'll agree with you about Narrator, but then all of Microsoft's accessibility tools are in the same state. I've always understood that Microsoft wasn't trying to be an assistive technology provider, but to show the beginnings of what could be done and left it to other companies to provide accessibility tools that are robust enough for full time use.Apple on the other hand provides things like Voice Over because they can't stand the idea of somebody other than themselves having some control over the user experience. Ever notice that the only TTS voices available for Apple hardware are voices that Apple themselves provide?I think I like Microsoft's approach a lot better than Apple's.I believe that the stability of Windows depends a lot on the skills of the user. I had an install of Windows XP run perfectly well for 12 years before I decided to replace it with Windows 7.Anyway, that is all I'm going to say about it. It's time to allow this thread to go back to it's original topic.

I just had a thought that makes my test of the download link meaningless. If dropbox keeps a record of who's downloaded the file, it probably noted that I was one of the first people to download it so it didn't block me. But when Andkuk tried they probably decided that too many different people have downloaded the file so they blocked him.

I don't know what that site is doing but more often than not, it causes Internet Explorer's CPU usage to go through the roof, which necessitates closing it. I just tried it and for now it is working. As more people download the game, Dropbox will eventually block the file because it is being shared with too many people. The primary reason why I don't use Dropbox.

This is the first time in three years of using Windows 7 that the built in zip file handling has failed to do the job.And while I'll agree with you that Explorer could have been much better than it is, I can't argue with the fact that it does work, and quite well at that.In fact I can't think of any of the built in functions that don't work as you claim. Or are you so disdainful of Windows because you are a Mac user and are not speaking from any real experience?

I use Internet Explorer with no download managers and never have any problems downloading.It's so rare, in fact this is the first time it's happened that the built in zip file handling in Windows failed to work that I forget there are other options. 7zip extracted the zip file with no problems, so the problem is resolved.Whew! I really didn't want to go the route of filing a dispute but so many web sites won't refund software purchases that when faced with a product with an apparent problem, often your only recourse is to file one.@nidza07I may have been a bit harsh in my annoyance with the problems I faced getting this game, but I never resorted to calling people names or verbally attacking them as you have done. Nice job!

That makes no sense, if an anti virus is causing a download problem, it will cause a problem regardless of what browser I use. I just downloaded the December update to JAWS and it downloaded without a problem, so I doubt the problem is my browser. I also tried unpacking several other zip files, including the VI version of episode 0 of this game and they all unpacked without any errors.If those are the only solutions available I can see now that I will be deleting these files and opening a dispute with PayPal to get my money back.

Well, that was one of the most unnecessarily complex order fulfillments I've ever gone through, and to top it off, I believe I got a corrupted zip file for my troubles. So I tried downloading it again and the result was the same. When I try to unpack the zip file I get an error saying that an error is preventing a folder from being encrypted. I'm about ready to file a dispute with PayPal and get my money back and forget this game even exists. Very irritated.

Rats! I spoke too soon. I wanted to buy through itch.io because it would be DRM free and not require any clients to download it, but the buy now links don't work. I click them and nothing happens. Thinking that they might open a new window that the pop up blocker might block, I turned it off, no help. I encountered this problem on eBay and the work around was to use pass through, still no help. I then tried using NVDA instead of JAWS, and still the buy now links don't do anything.So I guess I won't be buying this game after all, pity.

This is yet another version of the old concentration game. Not even close to Bejeweled.Some observations:1. If you are going to create code specifically for a particular screen reader, it helps to actually test it with that screen reader.2. The installer creates chortcuts to the game's documentation, but never installs the documentation files. All it installs is a read me file with no shortcut to it.

AVG started annoying me years and years ago so I switched to Avast and I was happy until I lost my vision and discovered that it wasn't very accessible so now I use Microsoft Security Essentials. It may not be the best, but it is accessible.Thanks for sharing this new game! I've been looking for something like Pop Cap Game's Bejeweled series in an accessible form. I can't say yet if Peaches and Cream fills the bill but it does sound like it's worth a look see.

How do you like them apples? Today I got a new set of definitions for MSE and now it thinks TTF has the Win32 Trojan.For whatever it's worth, I submitted it to Microsoft as a false positive with a note that WD and MSE both frequently falsely flag games written in BGT as having malware. Hopefully they'll fix the problem permanently.

Just looking their web site, it doesn't appear that they have released anything new since the initial release. I'm still waiting for the vision impaired version of episode to be released before I'll pay anything for this game. I have no problem with the game defaulting to using SAPI since it comes with Windows and doesn't rely on any particular brand of screen reader.My message was in response to at least one message in this this disapproving of the game's use of SAPI and requesting that it be coded to use NVDA instead.

Unlike some people here, I am not at all in favor of writing a game, or any other program for that matter, so that it favors one screen reader over another. If the program is going to be accessible, it should be accessible to all, regardless of which screen reader is being used.That's not because I'm a JAWS user, it's just plain old equal access for all common sense.

I will have a look at it when I get the chance, probably this weekend.@JuliantheaudiogamerYou don't have to learn everything about NVDA to play the game. I too am a JAWS user but I also have NVDA installed because it's well known that JAWS and many games don't get along. When I encounter one of these games, or am instructed to do so, I switch to NVDA to play the game, then switch back to JAWS when I'm done. I hardly had to learn anything new at all, just a couple of NVDA specific keystrokes to access its settings and to exit.

That's why I simply try suspending JAWS for games written in BGT. For most games that don't try to detect my assistive technology and are either self voiced or use SAPI, it works with no problem. But even when suspended this game detects JAWS and assumes it should use it.

Does anyone know if it's possible to set up this game to always use SAPI? I'd prefer to put JAWS into suspend mode rather than exiting it entirely, but even in suspend mode the game detects JAWS and assumes that it should use its voice.This game is a perfect example of why allowing software or web sites to detect if you are running any kind of assistive technology isn't a very good idea.

Well, I finally had some free time to play some games and tried to take this one for a spin.The first thing I ran into is the same issue I have with the Audio Maze game and that is a warning about my graphics driver.WARNING: Known issues with graphics driverThe installed version of the NVIDIA graphics driver has known issues.Please update to the latest driver version.NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140MInstalled: 342.00Recommended: 378.92Unfortunately NVidia no longer supports this graphics processor anymore so the drivers I have installed are the latest drivers that do support it.After dismissing the warning message the game starts but when I press the command keys to play the game, I found it difficult to determine whether the game is responding to them or not, soon after that the sound started breaking up, then after less than a minute pressing the keys gave me a sound that told me 
 the game had either locked up or simply wasn't recognizing them. I had JAWS configured to go into suspend mode while the game runs, which usually works for most games that have conflicts with the screen reader, but to be sure I tried a second time with JAWS unloaded, and got the exact same behavior.At this point I think I'll have to wait for the purely audio version of the game, as I believe that my graphics processor and or it's drivers are the source of the problem.

I finally had some time to play with this game and was able to pick up a number of beakons. Mostly it was relatively easy to get to the beakons, but I still found the noisy walls somewhat disorienting, especially when every other maze type game I've played had silent walls.I also noticed that the sound wasn't smooth, it frequently skipped, like a needle on a phonograph jumping from one groove to another, the sound itself didn't skip, it simply paused for a split second. I'm wondering if the driver warning I get when ever I launch the game has anything to do with this.

I haven't played the game yet, but this is what I'm thinking for when I do.I believe that most creatures use their most powerful sense a lot more than they do their other senses. For a sighted human they will use their vision the most, for a blind human, I think it's a toss up between hearing and touch, probably dependant on what's being done at any given time.For dogs it's their sense of smell. Those of you who have or had sight, think back to when you last saw a dog. Unless it was preoccupied with some task, it was probably walking around with its nose to the ground, sniffing everything in sight.In this game you are a dog, so act like one and use that nose. While looking for the lost person use sniff 2 a lot to keep track of and stay on the trail, then when you've found the lost person, to bring them back, use shiff 1 a lot to find your way back to the start.

Apparently NVidia no longer supports 32 bit operating systems because the latest 32 bit version was 340 which is well below the version 378 the warning recommended. Either that or they no longer support the Quadro NVS 140M GPU in more recent versions of their driver.That's all I've been able to do today, hopefully I'll have more time tomorrow to actually play the game.

Dropbox is very popular, but has the problem that they will block files that are being downloaded by too many people, so it's not very good for sharing files with an audience of any size.I myself use Sendspace, but it has the problem that, unless you have a paid account, they drastically meter your transfer speeds. On the plus side they won't block a file because a bunch of different people are downloading it.Six of one, half dozen of the other, pick your poison.I've had a Sendspace Pro account for about 18 months now and am very satisfied with it. The only part of it I found inaccessible was with their Sendspace Wizard desktop application where you could change the color of some user interface elements. Not something a visually impaired person needs, so I just ignore it.Actually, now that I know I have to use the touch cursor in JAWS, I can manage Google drive without too much difficulty. NVDA users would call it object navigation.

Considering that the ich.io web site says this game was released two years ago and we're still waiting for an accessible version plus the rest of the episodes, and after seeing a number of games release episode 1 but but never release the rest of their story, I will wait until the accessible version is ready for immediate download before spending any money.At least I'll give you credit for saying right out that the game is episodic in nature. Blindside died at episode 1 but on their web site, where they are still selling the game, they never tell you that all you're getting is part 1 of a multi part story and that the rest of the story will never be written. Just like in Chillingham, and Time Adventure, you find out that you only have the first part of a longer story when the game ends rather abruptly.

You should be able to play it on any Alexa enabled device, which, I believe, includes smart phones and tablets with the Amazon Alexa app installed.

So, bottom line is that Steam is not required nor will it be installed if I buy through ich.io?Sorry about all the questions, but I've never bought anything through ich.io before so I know next to zero about it, and I'm trying to avoid Steam.

Oh really!? If you go to their web site there is not one single mention that Steam is required. If the Steam requirement is true, then I'd say this developer is using very deceptive business practices by omitting that piece of information.And considering that Steam itself is not accessible without a lot of extra work and addd ons for a specific screen reader, it is my feeling that games that require it do not belong on this site or these forums.Can someone verify or deny that Steam is a requirement to play the full version of this game?
